Horrible experience, first we changed the flight for 4 and a half hours before the time we chose, and your response to our complaint of the change of schedule is: either accept the new date or buy another flight and pay the surplus, as if it were my He blames these people decide to change my flight. I wrote to compensate for the inconveniences and responded saying that only compensation was given to people with a flight change of at least 5 hours, the last straw.
Then on our last trip our bags arrived broken. They broke them and again we went to make the claim and they put us to fill a sheet of complaints, which from the beginning it was clear that they were not going to do a m # @ * ~ & with the said sheet. And they told us to wait 5 days that they contacted us to resolve the claim. Well, it has been 15 days and nothing, so we decided to contact them and they say that the number of the person does not exist, this number was given to us at the point of attention so that it would be easy to identify and find our complaint. They no longer answer us, and we enter their chat with Sofi and while we are waiting for an answer they take us out of the chat. He says they are not available to chat what's wrong with them? Also, they charge a lot for the baggage and they return it damaged. And on top of that they no longer respond to calls, emails and chat. With what credibility as a company do you think they are left after this?

Hands down the worst company I ve ever dealt with in my life.

I booked a ticket from Lima to Barenquilla with a connection in Bogota. Paid extra for hold luggage / fast lane boarding on both.

Got to Bogota only to find our luggage on the caracel. It shouldn t have been there. We were told at check in it would be transferred automatically to our second flight (in line with what we paid for).

Ran to check in and were told check in was closed so we could not get on the flight. This is despite explaining that it s clearly their fault. We wouldn t have even gone to check in if our bags had been transferred correctly.

They said nah you re late then said we d have to buy another flight ourselves tomorrow. No discounts, no refunds, no hotel accommodation for tonight. Not even an apology.



Unbelievably bad service from this awful company.

- They sell you connecting flights but mistakenly put your bag on the caracel at the wrong airport
- They don t admit their mistakes and will charge you for every error they make


Also they:

- Purposefully sit people apart to force you to pay for seats (don t fly if you re a family)

- Won t transfer you onto a new flight if your connection is delayed.

We read some of these trip advisor reviews before we flew with Viva and thought we d be alright, we only fly Ryanair and Easyjet so how bad could it be?



Genuinely think this company must be run be some sort of movie villain. Bunch of evil bastards.

Worst airline I've flown with, terrible customer service, hidden information aimed to trick new customers into paying extra fees. Whilst I was checking in every single person had to pay extra for either baggage, boarding passes, seats. A very imoral company. Too cheap to be true!

Vivaair has to be one of the worst airlines if not...

Vivaair has to be one of the worst airlines if not THE worst airline that I have ever had the experience of flying with. We showed up an hour and 55 minutes before our flight, and they told us that because we had not printed out our boarding passes at least two hours prior to the flight departure, we could not board the flight at all! Even though no where in the email or ticket, or website said we needed to do so. We spoke to multiple people in both English and Spanish that it was not written anywhere on the website or the email that we needed to print boarding tickets. The lady at the counter was rude and dismissive and could not bother to help us understand the logic behind their seemingly made-up rule of 2 hours. After speaking to multiple people, including airport staff, they finally let us on after charging us a total of 66,000 Colombian pesos ($21 USD) to print two boarding passes. This was even after us offering to pay extra charge to print the tickets. Utterly rediculous. Do not fly with this airline if you can help it.

I've tralleved with many low cost airlines around the world (Ryanair, Spirit, Jestar, Airasia, others) and I've never seen such an unfair cabin luggage restriction. They claim to accept a "10KG personal item", but it is a ridiculous 40cm x 35cm. That is NOT a cabin luggage, but instead a very small backpack (the one you can usually put under the seat). Once you get to the airport with your carry on, they will force you to pay $30 USD for it, even if it was under 10kg. DO NOT book with this airline assuming it is the cheapest option, IT IS NOT! Never flying with them again. The most dishonest airline in the world.

Worst airline I have ever used!! >>SCAM ALERT!! The website will not let you print your boarding passes, it will come up with a error message ! Boarding passes are 25usd to print at the Airport!!! Staff were rude, seats were tiny and the flight was heavily delayed!! Avoid this airline.

I give it 1 Star because personally it has been the worst experience I have had, I traveled with my family and due to the lack of information on the page since everything is fine print we had to pay 130,000 for the boarding passes and additional if we wanted to select the seats we had to Paying 20,000 for each, so we got separated throughout the plane even though my brother got in a 2-space seat and we weren't allowed to sit there without paying the change. That is not the worst, the attention both at the airport and on the plane is terrible. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO TRAVEL AS A FAMILY

The truth is that no company, no matter how econom...

The truth is that no company, no matter how economical it is, should abuse the needs of its customers, with high enough costs for printing a boarding pass or hand luggage, etc. That makes you lose value as a company, make you doubt its principles and values. I have traveled with this company many times since it is one of the cheapest in the country, but I have never had a single flight where there is no problem with at least one passenger. I hope that someday flying economically is not synonymous with discomfort.

Catalog this airline as the worst low-cost airline in Latin America and Europe, we took a flight at 7:10 am in hunt and ask to print the boarding pass with them and it has and cost 39,000 COP per person, the cheap thing is expensive not to use this airline, of the worst.

I flew with them from Medellin to Cartegena, horrible experience. The plane was a piece of garbage least legroom of any airplane i have ever seen. They are very petty, fee for everything like printing a boarding pass 30000 pesos. I arrived with a carry-on and a small backpack. At the counter I was told I had to check one of the two bags I said not to worry I will put the backpack inside my carry-on as there was room. They wouldn't go for it and I got dinged again. Basically an extra 100 usd on top of the online booking. Avoid avoid avoid

We checked in online, went to the bagage drop-off and were flabbergasted that our boarding passes on our mobile devices weren t allowed. Instead we had to pay P33,000 per person for them to print out the boarding pass. What a rip off and definitely not sustainable!

Useless! Cheap initial price aimed to bring customers, to then cheat the customers into hidden costs! Boarding passes cost $22 if you don't print them (this is the 21st century, who prints their boarding pass?) Cabin luggage isn't included, only a 6kg personal bag. Worst airline in Colombia!

Viva Air is a nightmare airline. DO NOT USE!!they are thieves, I was trying to buy a Medellin to San Andres ticket online and I made a mistake, called five minutes later to try to fix it and they were not able to fix it!! so I had to get a refund and buy the ticket again.... really?? It has been over two months and I m still waiting for my refund!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

Worst airline I've ever flown with! They advanced my return flight to Lima by 15 hours making it impossible for me to take. The only options they offered were either a refund (which would also cancel my flight FROM Lima which was 8 hours after I received their email), or choose significantly more expensive alternatives.
Besides that there were always problems with booking, paying for booking, with checking in luggage I've paid for. Their customer support is absolutely useless. I'm only booking with other south american airlines now, despite them being slightly more expensive.
