the check-in we were given a room that faced the barbet wired fence at the back of the resort which smelled like fresh paint and the bed linen was wet. They gave us one key only for three of us since this was the standard for this resort. All throughout the stay the bathroom towels were only available for two people, not for three as it should have been. Odd..The mini fridge was stocked only the first day and had soda and water. That's it! The daily stock of soda was not included in the package. Good thing the village was close by and we could buy our own, including the beer, since it was quite watered down at the resort. The white wine was pure water, the red a bit better. For food if you like pasta, uncooked pizza (for which we complained but saw no change), and beans you will be in heaven. Management was nowhere to be seen and any complaints were screened by the girls in the lobby, who were hired so management can hide behind them. This in turns reflects on the staff performance, who were indifferent in their customer service and did not compare to any previous experience we had in Dominican Republic, as an example Iberostar, where each guest was made to feel special.
We made reservations for a paid lobster meal in Viva Cafe. We went the fist time and the table was set for two, not for three. We had the lobster dish, which was just lobster no sides. The service was terrible. So we decided to cancel the second reservation and so we did. Noemi assured us that the reservation was canceled and showed us the cancellation on the computer screen. However she never printed us a receipt. On checking out they wanted to charge us for the second meal, saying they did not have the cancellation. We had to go back and sort things with the customer service desk, which took half an hour and multiple phone calls. Very frustrating. We paid for what we owed at the reception and again, they did not issue us a receipt. They did not even give us the ticket for the bus. This is how the resort concluded our vacation, not on a high note. The attitude is take it or leave it and if you relax too much we will make sure to bring your blood pressure higher.
It is interesting to read the management comments in trip advisor where they say we should address issues with them on the spot. Which we tried to do but we did not succeed to meet management of any kind. If this is not going to concern you, you will enjoy the beautiful beach and sea, no doubt.

Amenities of an All Inclusive, fine. The bad: they charge you the room safe if you use it (?), With that "join the Live Club" (a shared time in disguise) they are very insistent and if you are not VIP it shows in the hotel facilities: There are many things that you don't have access to.

Resort in the Dominican Republic, located in the Bayahibe area. Resort quite old and in need of renovations. The first two days they only wanted to sell us the resort so that we could go back the following year, so many times they insisted that we go to a meeting that we had to get angry. One of the commercials came to say that we had to attend the meeting that we were putting their work in danger. You had to book in the restaurants in advance that there would be no room, a stress of unnecessary vacation start. The rest of staff waitresses in particular, very attentive and pleasant. Special mention for Carmen the waitress at the beach bar near the theater, professional, hardworking ... The entertainment staff only listens to some people, in 8 days only the last night someone came to ask us if we wanted to dance or join to the animation, my friend started dancing with one of the cheerleaders, I did not look him in the face or talk to him, he stopped dancing with her and she did not notice until after a while. Some of the services promoted, such as fruit on the beach, I only saw one day and in the distance. Bad alcohol, no natural juices or elaborate cocktails, were left without beer. Wifi almost non-existent, although that did not matter, I wanted to disconnect. In general, I only recommend it for the beach, all the rest can be improved.

A great place. Heaven on earth. Standard room - large and spacious, clean and tidy. The bathroom is also clean and tidy. Beautiful gardens in the hotel. Delicious and very varied food. Nice hotel. If you want to have extremely clean rooms, do not expect too much. Due to the humidity you can often see rust or mold in the room. You can share the Viva Wyndham next door. Was a nice stay.

It is long but take time to read, it is worth it...
The bad stuff!!!
1 - Check in is only at 3:00pm so you are out of luck if you arrive early, you will have to wait until the room is ready, they will let you use the facilities until them.
2 - Our room was ok, however the bathrooms especially the bathtub is old, it leaks and there is green and dark stain spots all over it, the ceiling as well.
3 - Fight for restaurant reservations, we were there for 4 night and only got to dine in 2 restaurants. "Bambu Oriental Cuisine" our reservation was for 9:15PM i guess the last reservation of the night, food was ok nothing special, waiter came back said 30 min later waiter comes to table and says they have run out of one of the menu entrees we had ordered. We had to choose something else. Our dessert order was not complete, they made up some dessert and added a scoop of ice cream on it, they excuses was that the Chef had already left for the night. "Seriously".
4 - Language, the hotel catter most to Europeans, lots of them, Italians, Germans, French. Most of the staff do not speak english, so if your spanish is "No hablo spanish" you are out of luck.

The worst!!! ( yeap it happens)

On the check out, our was 6am to get in to the airport shuttle 6:21am. we party of 7 were there early and did our part, the front desk attendant named "Wardi" if I have it correct told us that we owe $14 for using the safe, we paid him $20 and expected our change back , he returned us $4 and said he did not have the remaining of the cash and was trying to get if from the supervisor. we were waiting there for more than 25 minutes and never got the money back, I even asked if he wanted to give it back in Pesos so i would tip our driver, he replied no. I do not mind the amount which is insignificant however his attitude was noticeable that he wanted to keep the money. If was on the other hand the hotel would no let me leave without paying them. It was a very frustrating episode. That should not happen to anyone,.

The Good stuff!!!
1 - Reception area look for the coffee bar "Special" nice guy there makes cappuccino and expressos on demand and shouts "Special: at every order. Can't miss him.
2 - Food is very good on the buffet restaurants.(breakfast, lunch and dinner).
3 - On the snack bar , bartenders are very friendly " Benjamin, and Carmen Julia are awesome"
4 - Concierge guys are great, David and Bernie are very friendly and welcoming.
5 - Amstar transportation to and from the hotel were very professional however their excursions prices were very pricey, we did not do any.
6 - Lots of entertainment thru the complex, nice gym, make sure you explore all the property because it is huge.
7 - Outside of the hotel property on the street market it is ok, just you will get harassed a lot for vendors trying to sell you stuff.

Overall we had a great time, and yes i would go back to this hotel, just would be aware and avoid past errors and mind the environment. My family had a great time, the landscape is well manicured, beaches are awesome, swimming pools are very good. we have been to other resorts in the caribbeans and this one was a 3 stars for us.

Obviously it is a mass village ... Italianized, beautiful as huge as a city, I believe that the true beauty of the playa can be seen with the excursions, the sea of the village in the colors and transparency with the hope that there are no algae very similar to " Caribbean Salento "..... even in the climate during the summer .... sun, sea and wind, I came in this period ... February :)
28/30 degrees per day with a humidity level around 80% in the evening .... in fact it feels good with a sweatshirt or jacket ... for the chilly like me .... cmq do not stay still in the village go hiking in based on the days of stay, buffet food I must say of good quality .... I would have some doubts about cleaning ... in the pizzeria I have seen things that if I write to you you would not eat more, but from 10 I give to the village in all inclusive a 7!
