The SEACLUB DOMINICUS PALACE, tested by us on behalf of Francorosso, is located on the south east coast of the Dominican Republic, in Bayahibe, facing the beautiful islands of Saona and Catalina and overlooking the Caribbean Sea. It is approximately 20 km from the Sea club Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace.
ROOMS The village consists of 330 rooms arranged in three-storey buildings, served by an elevator, in the central part. There are 3 rooms adapted for customers with reduced mobility, located on the first floor. Two of them are SGV (Superior Garden View) category and can accommodate up to 4 people (two queen-size beds) and the other room is JS (Junior Suite) category and can accommodate up to 2 people (one queen bed). size). The room we visited is n.5121, double (2 queen size beds), with a door opening of 78 cm. free space on the left of the bed is 90 cm and on the right 70 cm and between the two beds there are 60 cm. Electricity 110 volts, with sockets that require an adapter that can be purchased at the shops of the structure.
BATHROOM BEDROOM Net door opening 77 cm ,. Toilet height from the ground 40 cm with free space of 100 cm on the right and 60 cm in the front. The toilet is equipped with a handle on the right. The shower box (90X145 cm) has a support handle, a small 2 cm step and the possibility of a chair to be requested.
BARS AND RESTAURANTS The two structures Beach and Palace have 6 bars and 8 restaurants, 4 of which are part of the Palace and all inclusive for Palace guests and all accessible on the floor or with ramp.
POOL the structure has n. 4 swimming pools, of which the main pool, with a whirlpool and a 43 cm deep children's pool, is located at the La Papaya bar.
It is also possible to use the other three swimming pools located at the Beach facility, also near the beach.
BEACH The village is characterized by a very long beach of white sand and a crystalline turquoise sea; the beach can be reached via an up and down path about 150/200 meters long, after taking the lift, but avoiding the shopping area due to the presence of a couple of challenging ramps (see internal routes report).
On the beach there are some umbrella positions reserved for guests with disabilities, specially marked and reachable via wooden walkways. 2 JOB chairs and 2 JOB WALKER chairs are available to facilitate bathing, to be requested against a 50 deposit which will be returned to them upon return of the aid.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES The sports area is located in the center of the village and consists of: two multifunctional fields for tennis, basketball and volleyball, an area for archery, accessible on a flat surface and with a concrete floor, also for arriving to the paglioni, and a football field accessible via a step. On the beach there are some beach volleyball courts, some ping pong tables and a trapeze. A billiards table and a ping pong table are located on the side of the theater. Inside the structure there is the Viva Diving Reef Oasis, along the avenue that runs along the beach, accessible on level ground with diving starting from the pier.
WELLNESS CENTER The entrance is located on the lower floor and can be reached via an up and down path, not far from the elevator. Before the entrance there is a tiled ramp, 810 cm long, with a 12% gradient. There are two saunas, a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath, a Vichy shower and some massage beds. The bathroom is spacious, even if it does not have grab bars and a shower, the closest accessible toilets are those in the hall.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES Sea club entertainment team with daytime entertainment on the beach and in the pool. In the evening, the entertainment staff organizes shows (cabaret, variety show, games, musicals) in the indoor amphitheater, which guests in wheelchairs can access via the lift in the hall; the seats are all with removable chairs, so you can take a seat wherever you want.

We have just returned from the hotel palace we stayed 11 nights upon arrival the room smelled musty, the hotel itself is not bad except if you go to the bar if you do not grease the dough at the bartender Besaida she will serve you when she feels like it with a smirk I think this person needs to be cropped and that the director monitors a little circus all day. In addition you have people who are at the entrance and offers free massages he sends you with people to sell you a holiday on credit be careful not to get caught.

All very good, the place, the beach, the food, the attention of all the excellent staff, the very comfortable rooms. There is only one detail that we did not like, in several Restaurant of the hotel (La Roca, Mexican and Viva Cafe) there are cats circling among people, we found it in very bad taste. We would not repeat the place for this reason

NOT A PLACE FOR HONEYMOON! WE THOUGHT THE SPA SUCKED; They never explained any chance of allergy reactions, though they make the form saying they DID review and we WERE informed; we were not! Spa shower to rinse off the muck they plastered us with was broken and thus we were rinsed with lukewarm to cold buckets--horrendous! Spa get minus 100 stars as crap.
Gets 4 stars for all inclusive ocean front rooms, excellent beach almost as fun as Bermuda Horseshoe Bay beach but not as steep/deep yet with waves you can actually body surf in. We liked that there are areas near by with less people yet still on the beach. You could wander a 4 block boardwalk amid nice gardens to eat at any number of places. This is great because it provides you with walking exercise as you luxuriate. However! The food was wanting. Breakfast & lunches were fine, but dinners were not special, even to pay more for. We're used to Hamilton Princess Bermuda 5 course MAP with shrimp cocktail and Filet Mignon. Here in LA Romana the red meat was shoe leather in the better restaurant. We we were a male couple who didn't make any show of things, but it was likely obvious to others. Woman do go topless on the beaches, so bring sun glasses as overt staring is a faux pas. Va bene? Also we were meeting Europeans which was nice as we'd just returned from Christmas in Italy. Ciao

Nice hotel You eat meat only once a week when they have an Italian buffet. You have to pay the safe. The frigobar you only have it in the superior room, but empty .. they do not let you fill bottles in the bar .. there even weird .. but it is enjoyed the same .. If it is cheaper than the Iberostar is to recommend .. Eye. the spectacular beach !!!!

Food: Amazingly delicious and overwhelming. The buffet is so big from breakfast to dinner and everything is so delicious and fresh. Kudos to the chef and staff in the kitchen and of course the waiters and waitresses for doing a great job. I love the coffee. Its very important for me to have a nice coffee in the morning and it tastes so great! The bar area is also great with wide selection of drinks! The bartenders are nice and cool. A la carte restaurants are must-try! We lived in the Palace so we were able to book for all of them and the food is amazingly good. The best restaurant for my husband and I was The Atlantis. Food was perfect and its the only restaurant where the waiter asked us if we want to take a 5-10 minute break before serving the dessert. It was very nice to have a short break before eating further. So we can enjoy the food and not just eat-and-go.

Activities: You will never get bored. There are so many activities in the hotel that you can choose. From zumba to water sports. The staffs are very good in entertaining guests. My husband and I went to many excursions and the tour guides are very friendly and approachable. The only thing I would suggest is to have toilet breaks during excursions especially the whole day excursions. The best excursion we had was the Dominicus bus. The tour guide was so cool and funny that everyone in the bus became good acquiantances during and after the excursion. You also get to know the history of the first Dominican people, the Tainos.

Overall. The hotel is very great. My husband and I would loved to come back again. I would just suggest that some staffs should also be able to speak other languages because not all guests can talk spanish. There are many times I helped some staffs in the boutiques interpret for the guests because they cant talk english. Other than that, everything is great.

The hotel was very nice clean and well organized. The offer at the buffet was great, every day something new and also local food. The restaurants which can be reserved and visited for free were solala but a good idea if you do not fancy a buffet. The beach chairs were constantly reserved which annoyed us very much, so we preferred towels instead of getting up at six to reserve our beach chairs. The animation was also too loud, especially Ch'm not there to hear American garbage and party music on the beach. Later on, fortunately at the bars, the playlists were changed to Spanish and more beach chairs were brought to the beaches to counteract the two problems. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend it

We had a great time, very good service, everything perfect. We even had a health accident with my little one that was solved without problems thanks to the medical service of the place.

Once and never again.
Too big and too loud, which was not apparent in the run up to the booking.
Staff very focused on tip.
Cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired.

Beautiful beach, very nice pools !! But when entering the rooms you can smell the humidity! On the other hand the pools close at 6 pm which is early and it would be great to be able to enjoy them at night too! Last year we were at the Viva Wyndham Maya in Playa del Carmen and with respect to the meals there was a lot more variety, even in the bar that was open 24 hours a day!

Wonderful place, but for being a village with many families the food was bad, and for the children little choice, at the beach bar only alcoholic and fried, no fruit or snacks for children, no option for those who are intolerant to certain foods. In short, if you took more care of food and hygiene, in some cases, it would be the top!
Nice animation and interesting trips
Large rooms

I've been there twice.

I've been there twice.
The former was Caribbean, now too modern.
In the evening weird music + too loud (for loud music there's next to hotel). Earlier (6 years ago) was always live beautiful music. Rooms look modern but not maintained + mold.
What remained cool is the beach.
It's worth it but earlier it was really better.

Pros: Really nice place, nice pools, beautiful beach and food is delicious. Lots of fun things for kids. Maids and cleaning staff are super friendly.

Cons: -You can only get free wifi in one location, or you can purchase it.
-Service is not what we expected, you have to get your own drinks when you are at the buffet (even in vip) and we were only served once pool/beach side... Which is not a huge inconvenience unless you have a fussy toddler hanging off you. Also, the mini fridge does not get restocked after the first day
-rooms are not very sound proof
-Wait staff, bar staff, and front desk staff are mostly not that friendly. Many of them seem to never smile, be all that helpful, nor enjoy their job.

Note* bring your own shampoo and conditioner

Have been there 3 times and it is getting harder and harder to go home! The people we know by now and may call friends - the Viva team in general - really try everything to prepare all a great holiday!

Absolutely great-not my cup of tea at all !! If you want cheap, you can get cheap too In the middle of the pampas (you can't really get there on your own ) Standard rooms were a disaster - very coldly furnished without pictures or anything. -Balcony was dwarfed or partly on the outside stairs (you don't really want to). Elevator sometimes didn't work either - The cleaning staff tried hard and also for "other service" .... (The one and the other single men from the tour group used it -) - The drinks were stop also more quantity than quality - it might be good to drink for connoisseurs, it s better to stay away from it .... The food was good, personally I missed the local cuisine -the dessert buffet was awesome mega selection and also beautifully made for the eye. However, always mega full and loud here too.
The "in-house" beach is very full - there are also quiet corners, but you can't get into the water there. - The first towels are put on the loungers at 6 o'clock It's best to go to one of the pools, because it's quieter and there is always space.
So it was an experience ich - I learned from it to take a very close look at the hotels next time and rather to invest one euro more. In short: NEVER AGAIN !!!

It is a very good hotel I found the personnel to be very friendly and the food in buffet great. For the a la carte the Mexican and the Dominican one are awesome. The site is enormous since it merge with viva Wyndham Beach seamlessly you can stop anywhere for bar, beach or pool. Would recommend it thoroughly. Not much wave too which was good for my young daughter.

Traveled in December. Very pleased with the hotel, room was in a quiet location of the hotel, at the time many rooms had been redone. Great especially for disabled people, so I can not understand the rating below. The food was just mega there were about 8 restaurants in the hotel you could choose 4 restaurants and it was perfect with 3-4 courses, great service just wow. The only thing a bit negative was the 2 days long the towels were missing and despite on request at the front desk none, only the next evening. It was a great pity that the German-speaking staff did not want to speak German (that's what someone said), in other countries that's part of the service.

We had a wonderful vacation!

We had a wonderful vacation!
Of course we would have had a few points to complain about, but the price-performance ratio was right and for 3 stars these points were still legitimate.
We found the service, the room and the food good to great. The beach and the sea were just fantastic!
