It's a very nice place to take family. Especially the little ones you will really enjoy it.
the aquarium is so cool. who ever made this aquarium has talents .
Nice place to bring your family. We had a wonderful time. Will return again. Lots of learning experiences
Great for the kids. Tons of fun exhibits including an aquarium tunnel and shark tank. River cruises also available.
Clean environment and friendly service but the aquarium needs to have a lot more collection for the price.
We had so much fun here. I loved the sting Ray's. My only complaint is the price! Its barely worth it but back home it's cheaper to just go to the zoo for the Ray's.
Personally, I prefer aquariums to zoos. Perfect spot to bring your children or for a first date. It is a little on the small side. Staff was great.
It is a family favorite! Touch sting rays, let the kids play with hands on activities, see beautiful fish, and don't forget to check out the adventure park!
It was very expensive for what little it had to offer.
It's one of the weaker aquariums that I've ever been to, I've been here at least five times and it's always under construction . There's probably more pictures of things than the real things. Disappointed always hoping for better
Very nice more modern aquarium. Large tanks and exhibits which is better than one tank per fish species.
The horseshoe crab touch exhibit and ray tank have been staples of the aquarium since I was in elementary school (when the aquarium was in the basement of a school).
Will visit again soon.
This was a great experience! We went on our honeymoon, and saw things you don't normally see! Everyone was polite, and I recommend everyone going!
Went there today and wasn't very impressed. It's not worth the price. The Pittsburgh zoo has a better aquarium.
Great aquarium. Decent selection of animals. I ve been to many aquariums in my travel, and this one has some really cool exhibits I haven t seen elsewhere, and some eh exhibits. It seemed like they had a decent number of closed exhibits, which was kind of disappointing. The employees were mostly nice and helpful. Can t wait for the second building to open and bring in more animals. I went expecting to buy a membership, but decided to wait and see what happens.
This was very fun place to visit! We loved looking at all the sea creatures and being able to let our 4 year old be very hands on! The Eric Carle exhibit was fantastic!!! This was our first visit and we have plans on many more!!
Pricey, but a nice way to kill some time. Very educational.
The boat ride to look at dolphins was great. Admission to the aquarium is not cheap.
Overall nice experience, the aquarium was nice and it had learning activities for children throughout the facility. And the Adventure Park outside with ziplining and etc is a nice experience for families.
Nice aquarium. There are several unique exhibits, one of our favorites being the sea turtles. We also loved the touch-pool with the stingrays and horseshoe crabs. Very educational as well. We went ahead an purchased a membership, so we can go back all year!
One of our favorite places to visit in Virginia Beach!
We went there for the dolphin tour. We saw very many dolphins!!
Great place to take kids to see the different fish and animals.
Okay aquarium. We were hoping to have a nice indoor day in mid August but there is quite a bit of outdoor walking to get between the two main exhibit buildings. There was a really cool ropes course that would be fun to do on a cooler day. Alright selection of animals, some of the featured animals were few and far between, like turtles and sharks. Overall, a nice afternoon, spent about 2.5 hours and walked through everything.
It was our 9th wedding anniversary and this place was totally amazing!
Well maintained, great variety of marine animals. Love touching the rays.
Good fun for everyone. The dolphin tour is a definite do again.
The other half of the aquarium is closed so theres really not much to see. Honestly the biggest attraction are the seals right outside the aquarium which are free. We bought a family membership (veteran/active duty) which came out to 135 which isn't too bad. However, do not plan on coming here on a cold day like today. There was at least 5 families that I saw with multiple children. The parents just allow them to scream and run around and jump in front of your regardless if you're walking. Needless to say we left early.
Loved it very nice!!! They have a 3d theater and nice place to eat.
Great place to take a family and the boat trip is a must.
Nice place thought the admission price was a little high tho.
The jellyfish were cool, cant wait to see my otter friends in 2021.
They are reserving time slots so it's not packed for social distancing but it was also amazing because I have anxiety! I started having a panic attack at one point and it was nice that it wasn't crowded so I could step aside and calm down. The animals and exhibits were wonderful!
Way too expensive for my family and we didn't even get to enjoy it. Guess you have to get the right person on the right day.
The "dragon" exhibit is super clever. The sea turtles are a must-see. The marsh side you could just about skip. The walk through the woods between the two buildings is fun - however know that you'll walk through the undoubtedly expensive treetop course area and your kids will beg to do it.
I love because your children learn something new about animals every day it is a healthy place
Super fun and covid accommodating . My 2 year old loved this too
Alittle pricey but does offer military discounts ... clean, knowledgeable and polite staff... not only did our grandchildren and children enjoy visiting... so did we.. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU VISIT AND ENJOY
Nice place. I liked that they had ev parking in the shade. I do wish they had ev charging as well.
My wife and I took our granddaughter there and needless to say she absolutely loved it
Wonderful exhibits! I want to go back and spend more time!
A fun place to spend a day with the family. So much to see, lots of exhibits. I would recommend the dolphin cruise.
I would save your money during this pandemic, I am sure this is a great aquarium at a better time, my review is only for today. All of the touch tanks and crawl through areas and everything extra is closed off (understandable). And no one, of course, abids by the 6 feet rule.. so the limited exhibits open get blocked up and congested really quickly, and by the time you get to a breathable space, see the 50 animals, its over.
we love this place great for kids and the volunteer know so much info
This place is awesome. Very cool and laid back not rushed, go at your own pace. Kids got to touch sting rays and a whole other building in the back. Worth every penny...
Always a good time, especially with the fam
Cant wait to try out the adventure park!!!
Great place for the family. Quaint aquarium with a surpriaing amount of animals. I advise getting in as early as possible to avoid the clutter of people.
Loved how informative everything is and how diverse the species are!
So much to see! The sea animal's are awesome. Alot of thing's to do. Highly recommend it. Take a whole day, so you can see everything!!!
A great experience .wish there were a few more exhibits for the price.
Exellent informative displays. Close parking.
Worthy to visit. 10min drive from Virginia Beach hotels.
It was a great experience. I hadn't been in a few years. I see a few things had changed. It didn't have that spark for me... but I'd still recommend the visit.
Not a bad trip but I honestly don't think they have very many exhibits. The ones they do have are nice. But, for the price, I was imagining maybe a bit more there. The snacks and gifts are reasonable priced.
Way over priced. Nice facility, but I have been to bigger and better aquariums for almost half of what we paid here. This is a VA Beach tourist trap.
Great fun. We've been coming here for years. Fine staff.
Really cool and interesting to see but there but there stingray touch tank was the best
Love this place! Love the staff, who are usually friendly. And the volunteers can be the sweetest.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. My son and I were very impressed with all of the interactive activities and of course the animals. The sea turtles were my personal favorite. Worth the money to get in.
Really nice little aquarium with lots of great learning opportunities. Seating area to sit and watch the sharks or turtles. Friendly staff.
It was very nice..lots of exzibits..and the
Dalphin boat was wonderful!!
The people were very friendly and knoweldgeable..
I have been to the aquarium countless times and enjoy it everytime! The changing children's exhibits keep it fun and interesting for my grandson.
Somewhat on the expensive side for the experience. I definitely would have expected more bang for my bucks. Would not return.
Enjoyed all the exhibits and learning opportunities. We were here at low tide so got to see all the crabs. Highly recommend.
What was open was great. I grew up in Va Bch. I was there when it started. I donated $$$$. But half of the museum is shutdown & we weren't told until an employee over heard us talking about the next building. VERY DISAPOINTED.
We took my Granddaughter to the Mermaid show! She loved it...wants to go back!
