First off for the amount of money they charge a ni...

First off for the amount of money they charge a night to stay there you would think the rooms would be more presentable. Room was clean but the furniture was not that comfortable or newly furnished look like a 1970's reject furniture. Also the food was terrible and cold, how is the orange juice warmer than the toast? Yuck they need to hire qualified Chefs and they gave us Kool Aid and tried to pretend it was regular Fruit Punch. The Good thing about the place was there activities which they had a lot of such as bowling, ice skating not just skiing or snow tubing. I enjoyed the activities and they have shuttles to take you from the hotel to wherever site you want to go on the resort. Second this was my first time skiing so on the "EASY" slope they should have a barrier between the trees and the slope since I almost went off the slope because that could've been dangerous for first timers esp. if they don't have the money to take the classes. Third they need to put more than 2 signs directing people to the resort, we got lost because we didn't see anymore signs pointing to the site which can lead someone whose not familiar to be going up, down and around the hills....glad it wasn't night time or we would've been done! So I think instead of a sign at the beginning and towards the end of the site they should have signs in between the travel so we can know if we are going the right way. Last of all they need to be more strict on the kids running all over the place and banging on the walls, seems like the parents can't control their kids so the people at the resort need to be strict on the noise late at night and early mornings. Also on their pics on the wall advertising "Villa Roma" they should have more variety of people not just one group of people..and ppl who been there know what I mean...Would I pay that amount and go back again? No. Is it worth the money? You can decide that but for me NO.

(Stars are for Resort quality, plus my experience.) It's a nice place! The resort buildings look like they used to be apartments (outside & inside), nothing fancy, more like home. I love my home, so I didn't mind my stay here at all. I'm on vacation!!
The scenery, around the resort buildings, is beautiful & there's families of deer all around. Nature at its best!! The resort looks even more beautiful covered with snow!! The activities they plan for your stay are family-friendly fun. There are trollies available so you don't have walk the complex. And the staff are so very friendly and helpful! Our place was cleaned even though we said we didn't need it. Sooo nice!!
But if you're looking for a modern, not so home-like, just a little bit fancy resort.. choose somewhere else.

It is getting run down and needs to be maintained a bit better. The zip line was a cute idea but so short. it would have been better on the mountain maybe even add an Alpine Slide down the mountain? . They don't seem to be ready for the guests on week 24. They are too busy getting ready for week 25 guests. ( Start of summer) The snack shack by the pool wasn't open and the barn for the horses has seen much better days. That could be a really cute petting zoo by the barn if they spruced it up. The staff at the hourse back rides is super friendly. They were so good with my special needs son. I do recommend the hourse back ride. The guides are very knowledgeable and took my son to see a bald eagles nest with an eaglet in it. We will probably trade next year and try again the year after.

This place was the place to be in the 80's 90's.
after a fire hit it back then it all went down hill. It used to a great family resort. Plenty of food and things to do.
Then timeshare came into the picture and it all changes. I think it changes owners and it could never be the way it used to be. Now mind you I haven't been there in 25 years but I will always have the memories in Villa Roma growning up.

Edson (our dining room server) is great, food is mediocre and inconsistent; rooms old and overall rundown. Phone and internet service is sparse and unreliable (very difficult to get any work done). Overall the facilities are well past their prime and need a major update.

Just to add on to what Ms.Sanchez had previously mentioned, bedbugs found in bedrooms 147 and 149. 2nd bedbug found AFTER maintenance changed sheets. Spider webs were later found in the new rooms that the guests from rooms 147 and 149 were moved to. So apart from having infested hotel rooms, they also have the worst wifi coverage. Yes, the wifi is free, but it often disconnects when moving between floors and when leaving the main hotel building. To make matters worse, no cellular signal can be found at any place within the resort.

absolutely one of the worse experience ever, wish we were allowed to leave a zero star review. We stayed there over the weekend for two nights, at check in, they would charge you a deposit that's more than the room fees. 9 days after we checked out, I called the hotel and asked about if there was any charge and if not, when I will get my refund. The lady put me on hold without asking any information for over 7 minutes, then she finally picked up the phone and yelled 'hello' and hang off. Called them again, the same exact thing happened, now I'm being on hold for over 10 minutes now. Do not stay here if you could avoid it. The worst place to stay, room is terrible, shower is disgusting. Most of all, worst services ever.

The place is runned down. Food is precooked and cold old rooms. Amenities old they dont put money in the place. Hallways, buildings, resort as a whole is very poor. I read several reviews after the fact most people say the same. Company usually replies with sorry we will take your review into account and we will make changes but they never do. Do not spend your money here

Highly recommended for families with children or a couples getaway any time of the year! Get away to the Catskills for a throwback experience to simpler times. Daily bingo, fun shows, and friendly service in the dining hall. Doc Holliday makes it an even more memorable experience!

The place is gorgeous at night, although the drive upward into the mountain area is super scary. The place is cozy, although the recreation area/center could use a little work, as well as the prices could be shifted, because they're a tad bit expensive (certain activities we had to pay upwards of $40, for like racquetball only for an hour). They have a ski area in the resort which is cool! I ski a lot, but I was a little disappointed because there were only 2 trails, and the food is a little on the stale side sometimes.

I am replying to the reply of management of my previous post. This is the problem with Villa Roma, it s not their employees it s their management. They don t take seriously the complaints of their customers. We spend a lot of money to enjoy ourselves in the resort and all customers expect to be treated with respect and dignity. When management starts to realize the short comings of the way some of their employees treat their guests Villa Roma will become a better place to vacation. Don t ask for reviews if they mean nothing to your establishment.

Staff so kind, room spotless and spacious. The best part about hotel is the many things we all had to do. Family bonding at its best.

BAD experience! A total of 3 staff members were rude and unprofessional during my 6 day stay . Pillow cases had a dirty, unpleasant odor when we arrived. Food was okay 1 out of the 4 njghts that we dined there. Woman who worked in the dining room (Luz) stuck her nose in different coffee cups to find one that didn't smell of egg, and then poured coffee in one and handed it to me!!

Complete waste of time unless you've been coming here for generations. The clientele makes you feel unwelcome as you aren't a long time guest. The staff was uninformed on simple questions. The facilities are not open early or late. And you will feel nickeled and dimed to death at every turn. Would never go back again. And if they don't put some money into it, the next generation will not be as likely to go back as their core guests currently. Run down, over priced and boring

Earl Hendee,

Earl Hendee,
This spring in May will make my forth trip to Villa Roma with a group of retirees from the Binghamton area. We enjoy our three days of golf and our stay at the resort very much, excellent place to have a good time and get away for awhile, oh the food is great.

I was here for a conference from September 24-26, ...

I was here for a conference from September 24-26, 2019. I arrived at 10am on September 24 and checked in and was told my room would be ready at 4pm. I returned at 4 pm and was told my room wasn't ready. At 5pm and 6pm it still wasnt ready, and neither were approximately 100 other people's rooms. While at the desk attempting to find out if my room was ready others whose rooms were ready were returning because they had gone to their rooms to find other people in them, luggage in them, dirty underwear in drawers, an unclean time share with "toys" of the adult variety strewn about, and dressers with no drawers. These were a few samples of the various complaints that I over heard. While I can tell you that it was a large conference, one would assume the hotel would have been prepared.for our arrival as it had been booked MONTHS in advance. On the check out day, people were asked to vacate their rooms at 8am. I found this a bit unreasonable since the conference wasnt over until 1pm, and there was no room provided for many disabled attendees to store their baggage for the duration of the mornings events. I myself found it rather unprofessional of the staff to expect attendees to log baggage to trainings. I checked out on the 24th and went to a nearby hotel. I will state that the servers, cleaners and valet staff were BEYOND professional. They were friendly, hard working and courteous. While the desk staff attempted to be helpful, it was rather disappointing to be mislead about our rooms, and told at 6pm that our rooms would be ready "by the time we were ready to go to bed", and when I stated that was now, I was told it would probably be midnight. I had been up since 4 am travelling, and in my feet working since 10am. Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy, even when a customer isnt going to like what they have to hear. I would have rather heard that I had no room at 4pm. The hotel ended up sending numerous guests to various hotels other than their own by the time the evening was over. I would NEVER recommend this property to ANYONE, for ANY setting. Not for a weekend away, a wedding or a family vacation. Definitely NOT a conference.

Loved it! Came with the entire extended family and had a great experience. Lobby and dining room were beautiful and the activities on grounds were lots of fun! Kids had a ball! Beautiful indoor pool and hot tub! Everyone agreed hands down that this was our best getaway with the kids!

It should have a 5 but the girls at the reception desk are nasty & condescending. False information was given to me over the phone. Food is very good, dining room is not essential, the cafes are both great. So many family activities. If you can skip the reception area, you would give it a 5!

This is a nice place to kind-of get away but I have to warn you it's a bit pricey for how old the place is. There's a lot of old people there as well. I wouldn't get out of my way to come here again.

I hate to write any negative reviews however even after confronting the front desk upon my checkout on Sunday morning and was quickly dismissed by the front desk agent of my issues it really left a bad taste on the stay. When my friend and I got to the room Saturday night we noticed blood on one of the bed covers, so we both stayed in the other bed (mind you it was late at night around midnight when we arrived and were exhausted and just wanted to get to sleep). On Sunday when we woke up we then noticed blood on the sheets along with the bed cover we just slept on. I did take photos and brought them to the attention of the front desk agent. The woman made it out to be MY fault for not calling housekeeping so they could be changed - with absolutely no apology. I am an Assistant Director of Operations for a hotel currently and was mind blown by the lack of professionalism. For a $290 stay I truly expected better quality of guest service and attention to detail from housekeeping. I'm sorry to say I will not be recommending this resort.
