Vibe Teacher Recruitment Review

I worked for Vibe Teacher recruitment for three years in London. I would not recommend Vibe to any teacher looking to find work. I worked in a wonderful school near Baker Street more regularly than any other school in London. On multiple occasions I asked Jacob Hart (then head of red team, now head of performance at Vibe) why suddenly there was no work for me in that particular school anymore. He said they did not need me.
I bumped into the head teacher of that school on the street one day and she asked why I wasn't available anymore. She said she had always asked for me but Jacob would say I wasn't available and that he had been teaching in her school instead of me. Jacob lied to me on multiple occasions; he lied to that head teacher too. I was available but he chose to teach there instead.
There are many excellent teaching agencies in London Vibe is not one of them.

I recently joined the Vibe Team and received a lovely welcome. Due to COVID-19 & the current Lockdown in London I m unable to work in the Musical Theatre industry which is a shame but i ve been given an opportunity to look into teaching again. Thanks to Vibe they have given me a path to get back into that. I ve only been with them for a week and I m now set up to work, taken part in a group zoom fitness work out class and have had many friendly and productive chats with the team. Can t wait for what the future holds, and I thank them for being so genuine.

Well, where to start. I've been part of the Vibe community for the good part of 3 years and it's been an absolute blast. I have had a really positive experience with Vibe recruitment and will be gutted that I can't work for them anymore. They really care about your personal development and placements. This is made clear through the regular communication you have such as having a phonecall every Friday to catch up, the fact that the recruiters are teachers themselves and work in these schools every so often - therefore they understand the job and what is best for you. The office is cool and welcoming. Vibe organise socials for the recruiters and TA's so they can get to know each other better, which is fantastic and adds to the personal experience you receive.

I would like to thank all the staff were so welcoming during my induction, especially to my recruiters, Cristina and Alex. It was a massive pleasure to work with them as they are easy going but professional, organised and supportive. They made me feel like a valued member of the team and gave me a lot of their time and options for working in different places. They are refreshing in this sense as often, recruiters don't take as much time to understand the employee and their needs, rather they look at employees as vacancy fillers. I've been working with Vibe since Jan this year, everyone in the team is super friendly & supportive. Communication is amazing, the guys always check in to see how my day/week is going. It's been such a great journey working with Vibe for the past couple months! I sadly found myself redundant from my position my advertising career due to COVID, and through a friend's recommendation, was put in touch with Vibe where they had me up and running and working at a great special needs school within 7-8 business days. Efficient, warm and welcoming, and a great bunch of humans! Would highly recommend to anybody with a teaching background, or no teaching background at all.

Making the change to Vibe was the best decision I've made since moving to London. My first 6 months in the UK with other agencies consisted of massive journeys to and from school, dull and impersonal relationships with consultants and a real lack of community. That all changed the moment I walked in the door at Vibe, starting with the ice cold can of Fosters they placed in my hand. Although the social element of Vibe is the best of any agency I've been with - it's been complemented by the professionalism and guidance they provided, and continue to provide - especially as I made the transition from Secondary to Primary teaching.

Honestly a great agency to work for especially compared to others in London as the registration is so fast. They have honestly looked after since starting here, when working day to day supply they provided me with work everyday without fail even when living in three different parts of London.

The orange team currently consist of Laura and James who are absolutely lovely. I feel they genuinely care and ask how I'm doing often. If on the rare occasion I talk to them about things I'm not happy with, they always get back to me positively and try their best to make sure I am happy. Over the years I have worked for Vibe I have found them to be awesome people that are more than willing to listen to what I am after as well as give me great advice!

I did supply to start with, then blocks of full time work. I would recommend doing supply first to get a feel for a variety of schools in inner London! They are all different and soon you will have your favourites and the ones you are requested back to!

Blocks of full time work are great too, as you know exactly where you are going every day and also can plan your next adventure as you know exactly how much coin you have coming in. It's more work, planning etc however more money too!

The parties are awesome and these are a must if you don't have a network when you get over to London. I've never had trouble meeting people, but it's nice to spend time with like minded people!

One of Vibe's best points is the community that comes with Vibe! Great people that are always willing to lend you an ear when needed and also good for advice, whether it's teaching, traveling or anything else.

From the first Vibe party I went to many years ago now, I was snowboarding two weeks later in St Anton with three other top blokes that invited me along after chatting with them at the first party I went to. Needless to say I'm still mates with these boys years later!

Vibe have great staff who listen and help with the entire process of being a supply or longterm contract teacher in London. Unlike other agencies which bombard you with irrelevant emails, job offers and relentless phone calls, Vibe are more personal and designate you to a team who are your main point of contact. They hold great social events, which are great for people who are new to London, but even for myself who had lived in London for seven years when I started working for them. They were also great at sending me to locations within an hour of where I live, rather than some agencies which had previously sent me to the far flung corners of the city. All round they are super professional and pleasant to have worked for.

Vibe has been my saving grace in London! They re not just a teaching agency, but a family of amazing people that go out of their way to make sure that you re staying well (both mentally and physically), help you to think about places to go on trips for weekends or a few weeks, have a beer with you and be that shoulder to cry on when you need them. The work that they find for you is of the utmost quality and they never fail to deliver.

After being with another agency that wasn t the greatest experience for me, I found Vibe after a few recommendations from others. After reaching out to them, they had found me work within the week. Even though Ben has just come onto the team, he s been nothing short of inspiring and encouraging. He s already found me plenty of work while I wait for a flight back to Australia, and is constantly texting to see how things are in both at work and personal setting. I ve found Ben to be a real joy to work alongside and look forward to working with him even more!

Nathan and Ben (and the other agency workers as well!) have both made Vibe feel like the family that s been there supporting me through my experiences of teaching in London, and make catch-ups that we have even better by genuinely enjoying spending time with each of the candidates.

I have been with Vibe for just over a year, and it has been the easiest experience. From the word go Vibe have been supportive and gotten me out into different schools and have taken my preferences into consideration. Vibe has been the perfect lifeline for me since I left full-time teaching 2 summers ago. Of course there are other, bigger, more corporate teaching agencies offering more in terms of daily rates, but which are inflexible, impersonal and not all consultants are teachers that know their schools like our Viber Consultants do! And the icing on this professional cake? The regular socials from Bowls, Beer & BBQ in the Park to drinks & nibbles @HQ not forgetting the legendary Xmas parties! On a more serious note, Vibe ensures it shares information on all Vibers across all teams so you never feel unknown or unwelcome. And I, for one, never tire of the cheery phone calls or texts! I heard about Vibe through word of mouth in Australia. Not having worked through a teaching agency before I figured that there couldn t be much of a difference between them, but was happy to take my mates advice. However - I quickly saw why they were so highly regarded.

From my first enquiry email a variety of the Vibe staff followed up with me before I had even moved over to London. They were great at stepping me through the processes and shared their experiences doing the same. As I later found out they were all teachers and many had taken the same journey as me! We had some great chats over the phone and they had some jobs in mind for me even before I d arrived and registered at the office.

The office had a great feel to it. I met many the team and they were super friendly. At induction they put on some drinks and myself and my partner had a great time hanging out with the people we had been speaking to for so long. Their friendly attitudes really sold us on the company and group of people who were working to find us roles.

They welcomed us into their community and we ve made some great friends through working and their social events.

At the time I was working supply and they were awesome at prepping you for each work day and had taught at the schools they sent me out to so you would always know what to expect.

I really loved working for vibe!

I really felt that they listened to my preferences and took my professional development seriously - they wanted to ensure I was best matched to the schools I worked in! I think what really makes the difference is that they teach in the schools they send people to so they really know what will suit you best. The communication between the teams that work there is excellent too - I spoke to so many of them but always for good reason e.g passing me onto someone else who had taught in the year group I would be having the next day to see if it's right for me.

Cant recommend these guys enough! They are all so positive, friendly and polite and hear your concerns loud and clear. They were never pushy when I rejected work. They are very professional and certainly expect a high level of professionalism from you which is really important in supply teaching. You can feel that the schools have good relationships with them too so this must help in how much work you get!

I cannot say a bad word about Vibe! They helped make the transition from Australia to London so smooth - helping me with all my paperwork, bank account etc so I could start working within days of arriving in London. The schools I was sent to were amazing and really helped me develop as a teacher. I was out working every single day the whole time I was in London.

I went to London on my own but never felt alone being part of the awesome Vibe community - they have regular social events to be a part of and networking to meet others in the same boat as me. I made some lifelong friends through Vibe (as well as plenty of travel buddies and flatmates).

Highly recommend Vibe to anyone wishing to work in London as a Teacher or TA. From the moment I arrived in London from Australia they have been supportive of my needs and helped me to find work ASAP. Vibe was amazing at helping me find work. I left my school after my NQT year and then was a bit stuck with finding a school. Vibe gave me guaranteed supply work and then I found full time roles through that! They really helped me start my career! Thanks Vibe! :)

Worst agency ever .

They made several mistakes in my weekly pay slip and I had to call them many times (sometimes more than 30 times till they picked up the phone) and send them a lot of emails and text messages to get an answer. What is more, I had to do their job by searching among my pay slips and doing calculations to make sure that the problem would be solved. This happened several times during the school year.
Apart from this, the treatment that I received was more appropriate for a summer camp than of a serious company. They call you mate , and even after having wasted the whole evening trying to talk with them to solve a problem and after having a tense argument, they try to keep the good vibes and ask you what you are doing on the weekend. Also, they spend your money on throwing free drinks parties making you feel that you work for a kind of Erasmus company run by students who only want to have fun. One day in December I went to their office and they were preparing a party with plenty of food, drinks and gifts for the head teachers of the schools that worked with them.
Sometimes they sent identical emails to all the teaching assistants and the teachers who worked through them saying that your contribution to the school had not gone unnoticed and that all the staff loved having you there. I repeat, what was supposed to be a personal email recognizing your work was in fact an IDENTICAL email for everyone.


My advice: try to work directly for a school or at least, through an agency that shows a more professional attitude.

I have been with Vibe for over a year now and can speak nothing but praise for these guys! James, Cameron and Laura have been such an amazing support system through the tough times of Covid-19 since the beginning back in March 2020 and still continue to do so now with all the new hurdles. Vibe have been so helpful for me over such a long period of time. Right from my intial contact with them in late 2017 through to now in 2019 they have been professional, helpful, organised and always clear in their communication. They always took the time to answer my many questions. They've given me a few inductions, lots of freebies, got me work every day I've wanted (which cannot always be promised). Although the work at times has been full on with some disorganised schools or terrible children, they've always been quick to listen to my rants or help me find a better school. They're also great with meeting practical needs, e.g. giving a reference for trying to secure a flat, or other jobs over the holiday breaks. Nathan and Freya espeically at the Green team have been amazing, giving me support visits in my long term role, always sending out invites to events (although sadly Vibe HQ is not very central and after a long day of work has meant that I've hardly ever made it to events - try living in West London if you want to be close to events). Overall this is a trustworthy agency, that give you good rates, lots of work, will be in contact with you personally (although supply means sometimes you jump around from team to team not really knowing any of the operators - just the nature of the work), and they are always kind, clear and thoughful. Got in contact with Vibe in Australia before moving to London and had everything basically sorted before arriving. Was so nice to travel for a month with the peace of mind to have guaranteed work waiting for me. The office employees are great people, who actually care about you and how your day goes. They consistently get in touch with you, and make sure your doing alright. They get to know you and send you to jobs which they believe are suited to you as a teacher or TA. They are Pro active in finding blocks of work as well as class teaching roles for employees. Great social events and great people! Highly recommend!

I found this agency brilliant to work with. I signed up with them, had an initial meeting and within days they found me work. I found the recruiters really friendly and helpful and it was really motivating to speak to them on some of the greyer, bleak early mornings! All in all, Vibe provided me with a great first experience of supply teaching and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for reliable and varied teaching work in London.

I would like to thank Will and the Red Team as well as the other guys at Vibe for their help and support throughout this school year. As a British trained teacher already based in London with UK experience and knowledge of working in the International sector, I felt valued and appreciated upon joining the Vibe team. They made me feel welcomed as a part of the team and immediately set about finding me regular day to day work in a range of different schools. The number of different places I taught in and the different years groups I have gone into has helped me to improve my teaching and breadth of knowledge of the curriculum. Through being able to regularly communicate my needs throughout the school year I was able to find a setting that was a good fit for me. I have felt settled and valued in my role recently, in the past month I have grown considerably in confidence teaching a year group where I feel very confident.
My knowledge of the teacher recruitment sector has enhanced and I have witnessed the support new teachers received upon arrival in the UK as well as the strong links made with school leaders. From a social point of view, Vibe are a great agency to be a part of as they can help you settle in and they hold plenty of events where you can meet others who are in the same boat. I would happily recommend Vibe to teachers currently working abroad looking for a new challenge in London or teachers from elsewhere in the UK who are thinking of moving to teach in London.

As a performer, I lead an incredibly hectic and ever changing lifestyle, and finding work (that I enjoy!) to fit around that, is extremely difficult.
