Just great !!
I would go back immediately
Well worth a visit for adults and children, even seniors and toddlers.
This exciting and very family-friendly exhibition of the Swiss transport system and the vehicles of the last over one hundred years is deliberately not called "museum". The lively show is very appealing, and always looks fresh and inviting. It is a particularly attractive leisure place, although unfortunately the post office is hardly represented, and also the jewels of the railway are now displayed in other places.
Nice entertainment for kids and adults too..Space section s too gud...esp loved the space walk over here... Nice and well planned infrastructure museum
Well organized and much to see. Relatively expensive, especially for a family of several. The times of the shows or films are not ideally matched.
We found it a pity, although the house closes only at 18 clock, the stands already at 17:35 clock everything "sealed".
Great adventure seeing past & new transportation technology, space, science & more - bring Your Kids ! Plan at least 3 - 5 hours to see all, also there is a restaurant.
Was after 22 years for the first time again in the Museum of Transport. In addition to the childhood memories, it was also very interesting and definitely worth a visit!
Hello dear employees of the Verkehrshaus Luzern, I have now been with you again after 6 years with my mother and I have to say I liked it a lot except at the restaurant where I took 1 portion of spaghetti with Bolognese the appetite was quickly gone 1st with the spaghetti you have to cook it well with salted water for 10 minutes and shake it off well in a perforated sieve and with aramat seasoning and with the bolognese you have to season it very well that was all oh and yes please lower the prices of the sales item okay anyway there are very beautiful exhibits where you have but I will definitely come back to you again, many thanks, greetings from me.
Great trip with not so great weather. Big adventure playground not only for kids. Very informative, picnic is possible. Full day excursion.
Swiss Transport Museum. Worth a family visit. There are places for children s games, as well as the Chocolate Museum.
Well made museum that is interesting for kids and adults alike.
On our honeymoon, we were told this was a must-visit. We made the walk from Lucerne (in the rain!), and we had a great experience. The tickets were even free on this day because of an event that was slightly interfering with some of the exhibits. The different exhibits were REALLY cool and very interactive. I felt like you got to 'play' while learning about transport. It was clean and not too crowded. I think some of the displays may have been a little disorganized as far as timelines went, but, that may have been because we weren't able to see things in order because of the event. Overall, great trip!
Seen in person very nice. We must say that we are in Switzerland for cleaning and how the museum is kept
It was simply wow... In two hours we couldn't complete the museum. So preferably start your day with museum itself.
You can spend an entire day here! Lots of activities for kids too.
Always new exhibitions. One day is almost too short. Cheap meals possible.
Its good place individual as well as for family also
A very beautiful museum I would recommend to visit at the Zeytinah city of Lucerne its prices are expensive and contains a history of means of transportation of various kinds land and sea with large areas for display and experiences of children as well as the site contains an exhibition of the factory Kaku Lindt and explains the history of the identification of cocoa sprout to advanced industries and the price of his ticket is different The price of the transportation museum ticket and the site contains a movie theater if you want to visit the entire site you need a full day since the morning
We were here as children and marveled at all the planes, cars, steam locomotives and ships. Make sure you reserve enough time for a visit.
Beautiful place. Must visit for anybody who loves cars.
Very interesting also for adults even if on holidays I do not recommend the visit if you want to watch the exhibition calmly. In my opinion, the shop is a bit poor and instead of Lindt chocolate and chocolate shelves that can be found in any service station on the motorway, I would see better a good technical library and more models (not just toys).
Certainly, however, a must for those interested in the history of technology.
In this museum there is also an IMAX screen on which films are projected that otherwise are not found in Switzerland. As for example the documentary "Apollo 11" by Douglas Miller (2019) although unfortunately in an almost halved version.
Wonderful for children but also as an adult you would like to be a child again ...
Very cool, look for helicopter and jet flight simulators, I highly recommend
A very great destination! Railroads, cars, boats and planes in a heap. There are always demonstrations and interactive stations. There is enough for children to play and test. Also at the buffet in the restaurant there is nothing to complain about. A good selection at fair prices. It was a pleasure.
Anyone who has not seen the Transport Museum has not seen Switzerland. Belongs to every bucket list. Large selection of topics. Museum, IMAX cinema, planetarium, etc. Who wants to see everything, must mind at least 2 days. Otherwise, come again. Nice location on Lake Lucerne.
Great for kids (and adults) who are train and car nerds.
Worth an experience. You have to take the whole day because it is not cheap.
Especially beautiful for children aged 8 to 19 years and explains the evolution of transport operations
Really elaborate display of exihibits that keep you and children hooked up till last.
Awesome place specially with the aircrafts section. Highly recommend.
I stood an hour for the flight simulator with my daughter to hear at the end that she shouldn't be on it. Great, they only noticed it when it was our turn.
The Swiss museum of transport is a great place to experience the history of Swiss transport, right up to modern day technology. There are also great exhibitions and 3D dome theatre shows about natural science. Great for kids too! Bus 24 and 8 heading North East are good for reaching the museum in 5 or 10 mins.
The tour with the gondola in the Swiss Chocolat Adventure Museum of Transport in Lucerne is very interesting I really liked it, I recommend visiting it! As well as a subsequent walk to the Lucerne train station, it is also quite relaxing, as it is today when the weather is right!
Wonderful museum with interactive elements for kids from 3 to 103 years! Worth togg to go!
Far too expensive and not suitable as a bad weather program for younger children, as many of the learning / games are out there (I think, from 5-6 years, it will be interesting for the children from earliest possible). Also, you can only enter very few vehicles, much is closed off. So it gets boring quickly. We also met a lot of very reckless people and the staff was mostly rude and slow. We will not come back.
Today I visited the Verkehrshaus with my partner who is originally from Ireland. What I found very positive is that everything is written out and explained in English. He was super excited about everything. Me too of course. What we found a shame is that you have to pay the full price but cannot use many things because of Covid 19. This is not labeled anywhere when you buy the ticket.
Therefore we only give 3 stars because the ticket was 32fr per person which we found very expensive.
If you like trains, planes, or boats then you should go here. Especially if you like planes and trains since there are a lot of these.
Make sure you check pricing and what you want to see before you go, its 32 CHF for just the museum unless you have the Swiss Travel Pass then it's only 16 CHF which is much more reasonable.
You can get here from Lucerne via a boat so that may be an exciting way to arrive, also bus and train are available.
This is a great place for kids as well, lots of activities to teach them about transportation and all the related things. If you're an adult and don't want to hear screaming children maybe aim to go on a school day(???).
A huge museum. The planetarium is pretty cool with 2 shows on Apollo 11 and planets. It is well organised and updated to new missions like China mission trip to the moon etc. But a pity the live commentary is only in German. Maybe in the future if they get to work on an English version will be cooler.
Let's be clear, the museum and the exhibits are magnificent. Clearly worth the detour. But the price is just EXCESSIVE. For 2 people (without discount) more than CHF 100.- entry!
Also consider taking a picnic! CHF 50.- for 2 pasta dishes is too much !!
Great place with many activities for young and old. You can easily spend the whole day.
Was very informative and also got to know new things in the Verkehrshaus.
Nice museum. Certainly with children. A building playground where they cannot be sweet. In terms of cars, I thought it was disappointing. The entrance is quite spicy.
The Scientific Museum of Transportation, the museum is huge and distinctively divided.
It has a lot of scientific interactive games and a lot of information about different modes of transport.
I recommend to visit the panoramic shows which are independent tickets
And a chocolate trip
Map of Switzerland under the dome
Great location worth visiting
The Verkehrshaus is very interesting, exciting and shows everything that children and all other age groups want to see.
It's for young and old.
We will be back
Super Museum! For children and adults of all ages. Spent almost five hours in it
best place to visit in lucern
unforgettable experience specially for the kid (4 year old)
Excellent! Especially the arrangements available whee even a kid can actually practice concepts of different teansporration systems. For example, my 21 months old grand daughter enjoyed working with JCBs or airport cargo transportation systems!
The museum is getting more and more expensive, planetarium and television studio (media world) you have to pay extra! Are you crazy?? It used to be all inclusive! The museum is becoming less and less financially affordable, a family with a normal income of four easily spends 200.- and more (if you dine in the museum restaurant, which is also overpriced for the quality of food offered) and not everyone can afford it! Really a shame that you have become so profit oriented!
Awesome information amount different mode of transport
It's a great place, they display a lot of modern things about transportation, but they have tons of stuff from last century as well.
You'll find exhibitions about cars, trains or ships. But also space exploration, aeroplanes, and cable cars.
Everything is interactive and accessible for everybody
Our kids have found the new planetarium top. Otherwise you had your hands full with all the interactive offers.
Awesome museum with a lot of interesting things to see. We spent five hours with my family here, but more time should have been reserved. We didn't see everything. The museum has lots of things to do and try out for kids, too. simulators. I recommend!
Always an experience.
Absolutely visit all departments.
Also "chocolate adventure",
Movie theater and planetarium.
Total staff is extremely friendly.
Very interesting exhibition on the development of traffic in Switzerland
Nice excursion location with casual exhibitions and opportunities for discovery for young and old. Even exciting for small children
A great museum with a variety of variety. Definitely (at least) worth a visit.
Great if you have young ones and need them entertained for the day, bring a picnic
With children, you can play all day, indoors in addition to the exhibition hall, there are also movie theater and chocolate adventure, the outdoor can scare the boat and the car. But the space-themed semi-spherical screen film is very stuffy.
This museum was very well done, and has something for everyone. Many interactive displays, some fun simulators, and some exhibits specifically for kids.
Beautiful exhibition, interesting and well organized pavilions
OMG this place is HUGE. More than a days worth and a great outdoor area with loads of fun things to do. They have it all! Trains, buses, cars, motorcycles, boats, submarines, airplanes, space ships, a media section, planetarium, a chocolate ride which goes for 25 minutes, and much much more
Can stop for a short while eating, but the place is beautiful With a large drilling tunnel in the front
Trains, Planes and boats, well worth a all day visit. Very comprehensive.
