I would have given a 4 or maybe a 5 but we waited to long tables that were empty. The food was really good but you could tell it sat in the window to long because the presentation wasn't on point even though it should have. I had to clean it up just to take my food pictures. You can reuse them if you like.

Had brunch here for first time yesterday. Recommended by our family. Very nice people at front desk. They sat us in the sun room i think she said there was a big party back there. They where loud and annoying not just us but everyone else. We couldnt even talk to each other could hear anything. The waitress was doing her best but they where demanding group. For 42$ each we got two glasses of champagne. The food was good but couldnt even enjoy it. Probably not on our list to recommend ti friends or family.

Entered the restaurant and was shown to a table by an exit past all the better tables. We were told by one hostess a better table would have a 30 minute wait. We were told by a second hostess we would have to wait an hour.
I have never been more insulted by two hostesses nor have I ever had them discourage me from eating in a restaurant.
Too bad, they have now lost my business.

Early 4th of July dinner to then hit the dunes to watch all the firework action.
This place never disappoints with its view, food and drinks.
Speaking of drinks, while here you must try there signature coconut mojito, its fabulous!
The calamari salad is my new favorite, it was flavorful and fresh tasting.

Another such talked about place and just so so food. My seafood pasta was lacking in flavor though it had enough seafood in it. The wedge salad was the most measly portion we have ever seen for a Cobb. The best thing were the starters...Tuna tartare was decent but the mac and cheese was excellent. Cannot beat the view though.....breathtaking.

Downtown Pismo was super busy so we went up the way to the Ventana Grill. Got seated immediately on the outdoor deck to an amazing view and were taken care of with great care.

Very impressive meal. I expected good based on reviews and what I read, but also expected a very tourist driven town, which can hinder all of those assumptions. I really wish I remember our servers name, because he deserves a shout out for an equally impressive performance. I know he recently graduated from Cal Poly, so hopefully you will get him before he takes an engineering position.

Ventana Grill was the first really outstanding dining experience I've had in San Luis Obispo County. My girlfriend and I are frequent patrons at this breathtaking establishment. More often than not the reservations are fully booked but don't let that turn you away. It doesn't matter the time of day, though sunset is by far the nicest time, you'll be happy to walk along the exterior path around the property while waiting for a table. The views really don't get any better. Get a seat by the glass if possible. Do not forget your camera!

Always great food a d drink. Beautiful views and unique banquet space downstairs. Wait staff is exceptional and Sunday brunch is awesome.

We had fish tacos, clam chowder, and fish and chips and everything was great! And that view!

The food was fantastic. The bread they give you are fresh tortillas with assorted salsa instead of the regular bread and butter.

The view in this restaurant is stunning, and the food is marvelous, also the Sunday brunch is really good. I have no issue to their service also. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Great place to grab lunch with a view! Highly recommend the clam chowder on a cold day. Since Covid-19, they've placed tables outside along the deck. If you show up early you may get a panoramic view of the ocean cliffs.

Wow! If you're in the Pismo area and looking for a nice restaurant then look no further! The service here was excellent. Our waitress, Caitlyn, was superb and so nice even with a busy night. The atmosphere was warm with mini lights at each table and the view was spectacular since we could see the sun set over the ocean! The food was delicious as well. My wife and I started off with the nachos, which was a filling plate because it was a rather large portion. We were thrilled about the size, but we're so accustomed to nachos and appetizers being so dainty in DC that we were pleasantly surprised. You could honestly get a whole meal out of the nachos. The guacamole on top and everything was fresh and delicious, so of course we couldn't stop eating. They also served us fresh tortillas with three salsas which were delightful! For the main course, I opted to get the sea bass. It was tasty with the homemade mole sauce. The contrast between that and the apricot spinach salad was great! I could've done without the pumpkin seed crust but the dish was still great. My wife ordered the Ventana burger and loved it! She's not a fan of fish so she loving gets a burger when we go out for seafood. That being said, she thought the burger was tender, juicy and overall excellent. Her potato wedges were fresh and, paired with the spicy chipotle sauce, were to die for! I'd say the appetizers are more suited for parties of three or more because we were so stuffed that we had to box up our food (I didn't even touch the beans and rice; breakfast tomorrow morning). Overall, Ventana was a fantastic experience and I recommend it to anyone looking for a solid place to eat.

We went over here with my wife on the afternoon and this place is awesome, the views are amazing, about the food,, delicious.

View is beautiful. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Outdoor seating that is dog friendly. Food is OK. Nothing wrong, but wouldn't write home about it. BIG portions. A bit old school. Not a big beer selection. We'd go again all that said.

Fantastic views of the ocean and sunset. The food was delicious. We had the Alaskan Halibut Ceviche and the Pipian Sea Bass. They also had a fabulous cocktails and a nice selection of wine and beer. Service was super friendly.

Food was friggin' awesome. The portion sizes we're a little inconsistent dish to dish. Desserts are for real effing delicious though. Dang they were good. My mouth begged for more after each bite. Oh man it was good. That view though. There is a wrap around balcony that you can go full Titanic on as you watch the waves crash onto the Rocky shore below. I really liked this place.

Beautiful views. Good food. Quintessential California Restaurant. I had a Wonderful time out with my family, and I can't imagine anyone else would have anything else to say about the Ventana. I will return when I'm back in San Luis.

Adding another high 5 to Ventanna Grill, the crew, and of course the food and the view. Its 2020 and we have eaten here for 10+years. We want to give a shout out to Lauren the manager and her amazing staff which she trains to the highest customer service expectations. Love this place!
Love Ventanna Grill! We are locals and VG is one of our top 2 favorite places to dine. The fish and chips (halibut or cod) is the best meal on the menu, but my husband loves the fish tacos, shrimp and scallops, or chimichurri flank steak! The view is incredible...best on the central coast...to see whales, dolphins and nesting sea birds. Say hi to manager Lauren who is be one of the best restaurant managers I know. She is very personable, visits tables, and even helps serve when they are super busy...and that is why the staff is so upbeat and careing!

I love the location of this restaurant of course. It's perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Spectacular views. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. About a year ago I ordered a steak sandwich for lunch that was absolutely delicious, but it's no longer on the menu. I've been back three additional times and each time the food was just OK. I prefer the older menu. I enjoy the view and atmosphere so much I keep going back anyway.

We made our reservation, we got there, everything was going very well, we order a mojito to start with. And then OMG the drink was so %#* well it was not good at all, than we other our meals, my mole chicken was dry, I ask for more mole sauce, that didn't help the dry chicken, the vegetables were good, my friend said his meal was ok. If you like smokey grill style meal it ok. The view out the window was ok.

Short wait on a Tuesday nite. All appetizers night. Clam chowder excellent, calamari ok, asada nachos very good. Service from Jonathan was top notch and helpful.
