I'm new to Virginia Beach, I had never surfed before and decided to give it a try, but I didn't know anyone to talk about it. One day I just dropped by VB Surf sessions, met the owner Tony. He was very patient and answered all my rookie questions. I booked 2 hours of a private session with him. It was fun! VB Surf sessions have become my surfing encyclopedia and a friend. I highly recommend this place!

The instructors were chill and patient with everyone and just love being in the water. It was the perfect environment to get on the board the first time and just try to shred and not feel self conscious! Would recommend to any one who is considering getting on a board.

We've been doing group lessons with VB Sessions for over 5 years now and they are amazing! Always adapting to special needs of adults and kids and putting safety first - will definitely be back again next year!

We booked a 2-hour kayaking tour and we really enjoyed it. We were taken to the sea and literally kayaked with dolphins, it was a really special experience. When heading back we went via the flat water zones with tall sea reeds and saw herons all around us. A really wonderful experience.

I reccomend this place. Had a great experience with VB Surf s owner. I have never surfed before, and decided it s something I wanted to start doing. I love the beach, I love the water, I love swimming, I have fun snorkeling and scuba so why am I not a surfer? Exactly. So surfing it is! I booked a two hour private lesson to get the basics and had a great time learning and surfing. This place is certainly worth considering when you re looking into a place to take some lessons.

Definitely a great way to catch your first wave! The group lesson with Charles and Stephanie was great and felt like a private lesson, as the group was so small. It took a bit to paddle back out, so I didn't even notice or have to wait for others to get a turn. I was successful my first time surfing thanks to VB surf sessions!

People were so friendly! delivered our bikes right to our hotel. when my boyfriends bike chain broke, they drove right to him and replaced his bike with no extra cost, in just about 10 minuites. before we rented they filled all the tires and adjusted all the seats to our height. 4 bikes for 3 days and just 156$!! so worth it and will be returning !

I bought a brand new 11 4 epoxy board and I absolutely love it! It s so light and easy to carry. When I went to look at the inventory, they told me all the pros and cons on every type and then I took home my new adventure buddy. We go to all Over VA to beaches, lakes, rivers, and I will for sure be going back! thanks guys!

Great prices, love the drop off service, and super convenient option to pick up the board at croatan beach. My go-to rental shop for soft tops to teach the fam/friends or some fun on the 1-2' days.

When all other local shops epically failed at rentals to catch the winter swell Tony was on point, kind, helpful and super knowledgeable. I was able to get a tail piece of winter storm Grayson thanks to VB Surf!! Great selection of boards and the definition of ohana. Mahalo VB!!

This place is the best for renting SUP and surf boards. Staff is really nice, helpful, and gets you in and out quick. I have rented a surf board from them four or five times and each time has been a great experience.

VB Surf Sessions is awesome! Brandon taught my family's 2hr surf lesson and was incredible, especially with our 10yr old daughter who battled paddling out. The customer service here at VB Surf Sessions was awesome!!! Pick up my paddleboard that morning and returned it that evening. I have known Tony for years since college, so it is no surprise he runs a top notch business is NO SURPRISE. This place is worth looking into.

I had a really great experience and a fun filled lesson with VB SURF SHOP s owner. The staff is very friendly I interacted with both Alex and Ashlee who were both extremely friendly and got some good advice from one of the employees there been and had a two hour private lesson with the owner Tony. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot and I would certainly recommend that you consider this place when looking for surf lessons in the Virginia Beach area.

We booked a stand up paddle boarding private lesson and tour through Tony and VB surf. Mark was our guide and he was AMAZING! He gave us a quick lesson then we set out through Owl Creek where Mark talked to us through the entire experience. We even came across a bird in distress and Mark called local fish and wildlife to make sure someone would come out and care for the bird who was caught in fishing line. He even followed up with us later that day to tell us how it went! A top notch guy who really cared equally about showing us a good time and taking care of the wildlife and environment. We can't wait to book with VB Surf Sessions again and we hope Mark will be available to show us around!

I rented one of their body boards for a whole day. When I started using it at the end of the day, I noticed the cord strap, had little to no velcro on it, and as a result the body board cord would easily detach from your leg. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, and she still insisted on charging me for the rental.
