Passing through Martigny, in abysmal weather, we stopped at Vatel for lunch.
Very attentive welcome, (coat, table). Very good pan-fried foie gras which, for my greatest pleasure, was not served on sweet. Farandole of potato slices and finely chopped leeks as well as a small mixed greens with balsamico rounded off perfectly.

I am outraged by the number of stars awarded to this establishment. Since when a 4 * has no air conditioning and has a simple tiny fan bought at Maxibazar. In addition the decoration looks like a formula 1. And the worst, the smell of public toilets worthy of a squat in Berlin. Breakfast is equivalent to a two-star hotel. I would not return for a stay but more for a relief. You really have to remove at least one star. However, thankfully the staff can not do enough for you.
I went there for the purpose of Loterie Romande. It was the first time. Beautiful concrete hotel. Large and airy rooms. Staff at the top.

It's on the side of the scenic village of Mahitni. There is no air conditioning in the room, but you can have a drink with your party in the front yard with a cool breeze and wide grass. Breakfast is delicious.
Peaceful place, hotel surrounding areas are beautiful with greenery.

Very good cuisine, good value for money, it is the restaurant of a hotel school and if the service is sometimes clumsy, it is always nice and sometimes gives rise to beautiful demonstrations of the mentor in charge of training.

Large and well maintained. It is fun and encouraging to see all the students from the Vatel hotel school running the hotel. They go out of their way to please you. You can be demanding, but don't forget that you have all learned one day too ;-)

The reception staff offers an excellent and efficient treatment, although, regarding my previous visit two years ago, the breakfast, both in variety as well as in quality, has worsened. For example, the first day we ordered coffee with milk and they brought us a jug with coffee and another with hot milk, so we could mix it to our liking. The second day we asked for the same, and they brought us a jug of cold milk and the coffee already served in the cups, filled up, with no space to add milk.
It still has no air conditioning, the nights in summer are terrible, especially if you stay on the top floor.
On the positive side, the parking and the attention of the staff, as well as the comfort of the rooms.

Very nice home. The rooms are clean but the bathroom smells like smoke, we could change it right away. On the noise side, the rooms are relatively well insulated but the noise from the corridor can quickly become annoying.

Very good hotel in Martigny! The prices of the 3 surrounding stars are equal to those of Vatel, but their welcome and their benefits are much more pleasant.
Nothing to say, the hotel lives up to its stars with a tip top staff.
