Great Hotel, hospitable employees.
As a guest, you will have absolutely no problems with the renovation.

Large rooms, located on the highway, larger parking lot, airport shuttle available, in the room you can hear neither from the cars nor from the planes.

The location of the hotel is quite unfortunate. From the airport there is a shuttle every 40 minutes, but the last one leaves at 23.40 from the airport.
Since we have already had some unpleasant experiences with the taxi from the airport (45 from the airport to the hotel), you should make use of the shuttles also.

From the outside, the hotel looks a bit inviting, as it is like a huge concrete bunker.
From inside the hotel in the lobby and dining area looks better and upscale.
The rooms are already quite old and could do with a renovation. The beds were relatively comfortable though.
The spa area was unfortunately not very appealing. When we wanted to go to the spa, kiddie swimming took place in the relatively small pool, which then deterred us from using the spa to relax.
The breakfast buffet is very rich and the large selection leaves nothing to be desired. The times also allow great flexibility (5-11 clock).

Our flight from hamburg to Amsterdam for delayed and missed the next flight to Taipei. KLM gave us the voucher for this hotel included three meals before the flight. Shuttle bus drives very often and it's for free. The reception was very fast, even helped me to carry some food to the room because I have two small kids who were very tired and hungry. Breakfast is fine, a lot of options. Lunch buffet had a lot of options but tasted ok. The waiters were mostly friendly... The room was clean. Overall, still great experience to stay here.

Great hotel, beautiful. The sauna is good, the breakfast great. I recommend this hotel.
Not far from the airport, about 20 minutes from the center of Amsterdam. It is well placed.
There is even a casino right next to the hotel, a delifrance and a gas station.
The bed was comfortable. Frankly no regrets.

Nice and close to the airport. Enough rooms and a very nice ulcer.

I have never experienced a hotel where you have to go from the ground floor (0 level in the elevator) to 1 floor below, the first floor (+1) must choose instead of -1. A room service attendant in the same elevator didn't know either. It is only 1 step down and otherwise you have to go to the reception. Great if you are dragging 4 suitcases. When you have finally found someone from the staff willing to walk to the elevator, they look confused if you have not discovered that 1 is down, 1 is up. An escape room is nothing! Furthermore, our room is very hot despite a loud blowing ac. I am not going to complain anymore given the previous reactions of the staff. First and last time. There are better hotels for the same money in the Schiphol area.

The hotel was good, the connection to Schiphol was very pleasant

I m not sure about the old hotel, but if you stay in the new wing this hotel is a dream. Huge window wall (granted, view of the casino next door, but still all that natural light with the sheer pulled across and you can imagine much nicer.) Plus, there s a balcony, great for making sure your outfit is up to the challenge of late-autumn Amsterdam chill, or lounging on a nicer day. One of the biggest bathtubs I ve ever seen in a hotel. And a great restaurant with an even better buffet breakfast included.

The room was beautiful but the place was really noisy. The staff were banging doors as they were cleaning so I was unable to sleep in. When I complained the problem wasn't fixed. The male staff member suggested I complain repeatedly if I want to see a result.

Clean and fresh, but a bit old (type 70's) and quite expensive. Fantastic breakfast, but unfortunately not included, even though we paid quite a bit for one night. Appreciated that there was a free shuttle to the airport, which was a must when the hotel is a few miles away from Amsterdam.

Near the airport ... suitable for those who are worried about missing the plane, anticipating traffic jams

Super nice, they got a great Gym room, Sauna-Spa-Steam section, indoor swimming pool. The hotel is marvelously huge in terms of area. Nice hotel! And also a great breakfast from the hotel!

In front of the hotel, there are casino and KFC opened. Super convenient

Our experience of the Christmas brunch 2017 at van der Valk A4.
As many times a year, we use the brunches at van der valk. Last year 2x at the A4

The food is just okay as we are used to.
Only the Christmas atmosphere was little present. They had made decorations on the buffet and on the dark side of the room. On our side, by the window, it was bare. Not even a tablecloth. Purely a mood strip on a bare table.
There was no Christmas music, no Christmas trees at the table and no Santa Claus! The ice cream buffet is also on the sparse side. As soon as it is served you have to start immediately, otherwise it will be finished. This is also not supplemented. Pity.

A bad thing for this concern.
Next year we will think carefully about what we are going to do.

It was a very pleasant experience. We stayed in the new part of the hotel and that was neat and tidy. The pool and sauna area, really great !! The breakfast neatly arranged !! From the hotel we could easily take the shuttle bus to shiphol and From there easily by train to Amsterdam, The Hague and Leiden.

Excellent food and service for an airport hotel. Really beautiful restaurant, decent food. The rooms are clean.

I stayed in Van der Valk Hotel overnight on December 10, 2017. The staff are warm and efficient. The rooms are clean and spacious. The food is great. It is a place to stay in if you find yourself in Amsterdam.

A hotel with quality service, the premises are clean and very classy. A shuttle takes you to the airport, which is very convenient. I recommend !

Stylish hotel. Unfortunately very complicated hotel and bar service very bad. We had to wait 10 minutes before one person looked up. And then what we ordered did not arrive. Very sorry ...

If you don't want to eat in the hotel in the evening, there are plenty of options at the casino. Worth the trip and definitely recommended.

Nice hotel, fantastic breakfast and nice and relaxing in the wellness

Very friendly, hospitable and efficient staff in the departments we visited. Thanks to the (I believe) 6th rebuild / renovation, the view from the restaurant was a bit disappointing, but this was compensated by the excellent grilled rib-eye steak.

140Euro for a night in a double room and 31 days parking, a great price in an even better hotel. Large rooms, comfortable beds, neat interiors and friendly staff. Gladly again.

Nice hotel with good breakfast and modern rooms. The hotel is a bit out of the way from Amsterdam, but the center is well served by shuttle and train.

Wellness suite was nice and clean. The jacuzzi was fun and easy to use. Breakfast was diverse. The only downside was a lack of instructions on the cleaning program of these jacuzzi, which woke us up 5 time in one night due to not finishing the cleaning.

Location near Schiphol is ideal. Certainly in combination with long-term parking as we do. Equipped on vacation and a good breakfast / lunch or dinner. Rooms are great, from budget to very luxurious. Hotel older but is well cleaned and soon completely renovated and largely renewed.

Average setting because hotel on a motorway rest area. The slightest service is chargeable. Too far from the center. On the other hand, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Excellent shuttle service to Schiphol. Spacious rooms, a little old though. However, it seems the hotel is up for renovation shortly. Nice breakfast bar. We liked it.

We made a reservation on the wrong date. Ultimately still possible to convert the reservation. We were very happy that this was resolved in a reasonable way

Here I had a few business meetings in the many meeting rooms, organized by Microsoft. Excellent catering and neat service.

Good location, close to Schiphol. Nice atmosphere, service in the restaurant was at times a bit hurried, but overall quite good. Staying a bit late in the restaurant was no issue, kitchen staff stayed a bit longer to prepare desserts. Food was good quality and taste.

Nice hotel. Friendly service. The room was mediocre to inadequate, there was candy wrappers in the closet, butts on the balcony (not only 1 or 2, but 20-30) and chips under the bed. For 79 euros a night you can ask for a little more. The breakfast was very good, lots of choice and fresh! The shuttle to the airport is really good (travel time approx. 10 minutes) from the airport you can get to the main train station for just under 5 euros (travel time 16 minutes) from there you can reach the whole city (also on foot).

All in all, because of the free parking at the hotel, as well as the service and breakfast, I would book the hotel again. But only as a transit hotel or for a weekend.
