Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol A4 Review

Super hotel, handy location if you have to be at Schiphol with an attractive package for accommodation and parking. Clean rooms and super service.

Website says you have airconditioned rooms. We had room #625 and 627. Temperture in rooms was approx 35 degC. TV did not work. Bedsheets have holes. Only 1 (vert small) pillow. We contacted front desk, and they sent a janitor. He said there was nothing he could do. Rooms only have heating and not cooling. Floor heating can not be turned off. He said that we can always complain to front desk but that it would probably not help.

Windows are broken and almost impossible to open. These hotel rooms are not legal for sleeping in, both with regards to Health issues and fire hazards. I have taken pictures and will report.

Frequent visitor too bad they don't have a bonus system for frequent visitors

The hotel buiding is nice, but the elevator is too small and have to queue. Room is not sound proof, annoyed with the sound of aeroplane taking off.

Saying outclassed. View of a crane. Works. And drc. No view. Grrrrr and yet a client for several years. Buffet and restoration. Has changed enormously. Chinese style buffet. Everything is incorrect

Highly recommended hotel in Amsterdam. Scores a 5 on following points :
1. Extremely hospitable and smiling staff, that makes for a very warm welcome especially after a long tiring flight!
2. Free bus pick up and drop from/to Schipol
3. Very convenient location with lot of restaurants to eat at less than 100m away
4. For the size of the room and the facilities, the place is very reasonably priced.
5. Express checkout facility

All in all a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to stay here again

Super guest friendly and good service, including cost balance is perfect.

Positive point: airport shuttle (25min total to reach the center), good quality spa and free! Secure and free parking, spacious room
Negative point: The decor of the room, rather old, the balcony that I think is not covered enough when it rains it's embarrassing.

nice hotel with very nice rooms (we had the Mexico rouge and sleeves suit). friendly staff who gave tips about what to do in Amsterdam. there is also a shuttle bus that runs back and forth for free to Schiphol so a very good service!

Great place near Schiphol airport for food drinks and stay!

Have eaten here the 3rd time this evening. Not cheap but it was delicious! This is now a dinner that I would wish for in a restaurant. A nice cozy dining room warmly decorated. Very pleasant service. The meal tasted very good to me.

It's a clean nice looking hotel for a easy night rest after or before flight.

Always good at v.d Valk. The "bathroom" was too open. No privacy. One of the restaurant managers thought that "yasmine's" call was more important than answering my question

Perfect for sleeping before you go up in the air the next day. Car is then 31 days max at the hotel. And just good and neat room!

Second stay at hotel Schiphol, spacious rooms and very good kitchen.
Ideal with a travel destination abroad, you can leave your car for free during an overnight stay (max. 3 weeks).

Very nice hotel, a nice bar on arrival, a good bed to sleep in, clean, cafe-machine om the room, a good, working shower, a great breakfast with egg, bacon and real orange juice. Just the way I would build a hotel, the basic stuff gotta work!

I'm so gentle that no one would bother anyone in the hotel

We left with a weekendesk offer and were delighted with this hotel! The decor is very charming and classy.

In addition, we were able to enjoy the pool area and small spa which were very nice after a long day of walking!

The breakfast buffet is very wide and can satisfy everyone!

Sincerely this is one of the best hotels I have done. I do not see anything wrong. The value for money is extremely good. It's modern nice. The spa and really Simpas. Clearly I recommend this hotel warmly.

Very large rooms , not so perfect i can say but friendly staff

No-nonsense, but nicely dressed and with the necessary extras (which we unfortunately could not try out due to lack of time). Breakfast is a huge buffet.

Stayed in April of 2015. Love the hotel. They were renovating and we stayed on the new, more modern half. Rooms were nice, grounds were nice and they also provide transport to the train.(The train is the best way to get to the heart of Amsterdam if you have never been.) We drove from Germany and stayed three days. Ate in the hotel restaurant three days straight. Would stay again.

Spending a week here for a business trip, a very pleasant experience! The hotel is huge and is spread over several parts of a large building, which makes finding your way a little tricky at first. Fortunately the staff we are very friendly although it is sometimes a bit busy at the reception. The rooms have a very modern impression and are well maintained and kept clean! The breakfast is also great, a very extensive range (hot, cold) with something for everyone! Breakfast is also very well kept. The hotel is located next to the highway, but with the shuttle bus between the hotel and Schiphol Airport you can be at Schiphol and also in the center of Amsterdam (by train)! Parking is no problem here either, more than enough parking space around the hotel!

Beautiful hotel with a nice bar. A very good restaurant and a great appearance and very friendly staff. The swimming pool and wellness and fitness room add a lot to the relaxation. And the room with hot tub really provides ultimate relaxation after a long / busy day. The new part rises above everything else in terms of appearance. Basic but very neat and everything you expect in / from a good hotel. In short, definitely worth the 5 stars.

I was stuck in Amsterdam due to a cancelled flight. The airlines put me up at the Van Der Valk hotel by the airport. Very comfortable hotel; friendly staff, very good food, spacious rooms with an up to date, modern decor. They could have treated me like q refugee, instead I was treated to an excellent meal, and a very comfortable business quality room. The lobby's decor is eclectic at best, off putting at worst. The color scheme in the hallways was just weird (blue and orange??), but the room itself was fantastic.

Great hotel. Beautiful location near the airport, 20min from the city. Well soundproofed despite the planes that pass every 40 seconds. Copious and varied buffet.

During my stay I had the pleasure to observe the work of cleaners in this place, the floor in the shower is cleaned with the same brush that guests clean the toilet. This is disgusting! These practices should be taken by sanepid. I Bury.

Amazing hotel with very spacious rooms and friendly staff

The check-in took a while, but after that it got better. Very spacious, nice, bright and very clean rooms. Finally not overheated, as with most other hotels. The house is huge and was jam-packed that day, so we searched longer for a parking space.
The bar is very cozy, the staff is very friendly and accommodating and the beer selection is really good. The breakfast is really great. Huge selection of sweet to hearty. Freshly prepared food. Cold cuts, croissants, etc. etc. Incredibly delicious orange juice. You can not list everything.
Would stay here again, but you are very far away from the city center. If you want to go there again in the evening, it is expensive (taxi for 50, - a tour) or expensive (shuttle bus to the airport + train ride). That's the only downside. Check-out was extremely fast. The parking is free 24 hours! In Amsterdam! 8 8o9

Fantastic both the place and the people. I was also amazed by the food, their cuisine was very good.

Great place, fantastic design and very well located. 10 mn from central station.

On arrival the receptionist had forgotten that we had already paid while that was clearly visible on the screen in front of her, and still wanted us to pay the full blow that was very customer unfriendly about .. Furthermore, the room on entering was very nice that made it a bit good again. Just a pity that the room was not really clean .. the handle of the shower door was covered with dirty sticky stuff .. also the drawer with coffee, sugar and milk was covered with crumbs that was pretty gross as it is not difficult that too normal to clean ... Furthermore, had a pleasant stay beds were really nice .. At checkout waited half an hour for the deposit because they "forgot us .. quite disappointing for a 4 star hotel

A very nice hotel! Great ambience, good breakfast, friendly staff and a surprisingly big room! Shuttle to the airport for free. From the flight harbor 2 stops by train to this wonderful city of Amsterdam! Parking for free at the hotel! It does not get better!

The rooms are top .. But staff .. In both reception and housekeeping are unfortunately not as friendly as they used to ..

Having dinner for my mother's birthday. On my carpaccio the cheese was forgotten. My mother's soup came later. The main course, chateau briant, which was previously always tasty and more than sufficient, was now a sad whole. We had ordered it for 3 people. Each had 3 measly pieces of meat. Served with a few beans and mushrooms. For convenience, my plate was also forgotten. The dessert, in this case an Iris Coffee barely contained whiskey. No at van der valk it is fine to use a breakfast buffet, lunch is also good and a life cooking is also good. Sleeping is also wonderful in many van der valk hotels. But they will never see us again for dinner

Great great hotel. The shuttle takes you quickly to the airport and from there in 20 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station! Free parking !!! (not only 24 hours) !!! the ticket is to be exchanged after 24 h at the front desk, so parking for guests costs nothing. We had a great view back to the park. Room very clean !!!

Good food, bit slow service but over all an enjoyable stay

We got delayed in Amsterdam on our way back to the U.S. and this hotel made us forget our misfortunes. There is a shuttle (full-sized bus) that picks up outside the airport and takes approximately ten minutes to get to the hotel. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are luxurious. However, it could be that the restaurant is the highlight of the hotel. The beef tenderloin was an incredible cut of meat, and the four cheese ravioli was excellent as well. Save room for creme brulee for dessert.
