Van der Valk Hotel Akersloot Review

Delicious food, nice young smooth service. They were well informed.

I have just come from the restaurant, and must immediately write that the quality and service of Akersloot is far below what it used to be. Without it, because for now I am done with the "too bad for you" attitude. After waiting well for a piece of salmon, it arrived raw and undercooked. Then I indicate that myself, and then I got the same piece back,
baked through and through. Was told that she cannot do anything about it, then we quickly pay and when we walk away I speak to a Manager. That is annoying, he says, I will say that to the cook. They probably don't mind if a customer walks away dissatisfied.

Super nice hotel!
Nice room, totally noisy and comfortable beds.
Also a good bathroom with a nice bath where you can relax.
The swimming pool and sauna are a must to visit.
From this hotel you are so close to Alkmaar.

Unfortunately, it never really rises in terms of quality. Reasonable for lunch, but no more than reasonable. Then prefer a cozy lunchroom. very friendly

Nice hotel, partly being renovated. Great room with all amenities. Nice long beds and a nice bathroom with walk-in shower and whirlpool. Also ate in the hotel in the evening, opted for Chateau Briand (2 people on the menu) with a nice hearty red wine. That together with the friendly service was a nice combination.

Great place to meet. Good coffee and enough seating space to work with people. But for a weekend away I would not want to sit here .. Given the a9 next door.

Always come back for the same ..... advance carpaccio and main course snitzel with stroganoff sauce .... remains tasty!

Everything was here as always, to the last detail. We will definitely come back here.

Pretty scanty lunch menu and the dishes you order are also not good in terms of price / quality. Furthermore, great location, but there really needs to be something to eat, the days when you can put down a refined cheese sandwich for 9 euros in absurd prices at a hotel are really over.

Great hotel. Unfortunately I didn't have time to use all the amenities. Super delicious breakfast. Enough parking spaces. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

I occasionally stay in Valk hotels, but this is the worst. Waste of money.

Very bad operation and nuisance from mice. And it is said that is normal because we are in a polder then you have that. Nice if you eat

The food is ok but certainly not special so the price-quality attitude is out of balance. It is way too pricey for what you get. The service is really bad. For every time you want to order something or ask you have to look for contact for 5/10 minutes. All of that while there are always 4 people staff talking about in a corner. Once staff are at the table you can also get some useful comments. No luck so.

Very nice and cozy accommodation. Very large parking lot, if you can't park your car here, you can't get anywhere. Good food. I cannot say anything about the rooms. But if it is just as upstairs, as downstairs, it must be neat.

Great hotel with big and spacious rooms, modern design and all the comfort you need. Food is delicious and you have available gym and pool at your disposal at all time.

We regularly go to Akersloot for live and cooking Sunday October 13, it was very disappointing due to renovation, the room on the second floor reminds us of an all inclusive restaurant in a foreign holiday hotel.
My girlfriend wanted a chardonnay wine this was not possible out of stock had to be refilled said the girl from the service. There were also long queues for the meat which was in small trays in a kind of counter, later the fries and mayonnaise were also a messy whole several times.

Operation terrace downright bad, have to wait long while it was not busy, eventually went inside to order .. payment went bad. Wanted to reserve for dinner, was definitely not necessary, they said .. Finally we came downstairs in the restaurant .. all 2 completely full so we were forced to go into town to eat there. It was 1 big disappointment all the more because it was our 20th anniversary. You will not see me again

Large hotel and that is how it feels, great rooms with everything on and on. Good breakfast with everything you want.

I only miss the cozy van der valk hotels, too big for us and too massive.

Nice hotel good food but walking route to the rooms illogical

The hotel is being renovated. So from around 7:30 a huge noise. Response from head of reception, too bad, if you come again you will get an upgrade. I had booked a room until 3 in the afternoon to work. I checked out at 10 am from misery with lack of sleep and headache. I don't want an upgrade next time. There is no next time with this non-empathetic attitude. Van der Valk is known for its customer-friendliness. This is apparently the rotten apple of the family.

Terrace on the highway. Lunch was very disappointing, a fresh salad is a bunch of almost wilted lamb's lettuce. Nothing is done with it if you say something about it

I always feel welcome here, quick and friendly service. Our order; fish and schnitzel. The fish was good And fresh. Only the schnitzel wasn't. The waitress did her best but the kitchen failed. A shame I still had to pay for it, this is something I didn't expect from a Van Der Valk.
Would I eat here again? Yes, because I know the food is always good.
So I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Well requested hotel with friendly staff. Good food with an extensive menu. More than I am used to at van der valk. Corona adjustments all neatly in order. Many charging points available for electric cars

Unexpectedly very busy. Fortunately reserved. Went briefly with main course but was resolved within two minutes. Nicely. That makes me happy. Salad bas was really completely empty. Just asked and replenished. Good experience.

No different from many other v.d.Vs. Less suitable as a business meeting point such as Oostzaan. Hotel bar is closed in the morning, so you sit among breakfasting hotel guests, not convenient. Later in the day you are often among the couples who would better book a room .......

Nice hotel, nice lobby, when you walk further towards the rooms you see that this is one of the older hotels of Van der Valk. The lift is small and not the newest, and the floor covering is subject to wear. The rooms have been restyled and that looks good. Minuses here are the soft mattresses, waking up every morning with back pain, and the mold in the bathroom. On the way to and from the room, it was noticeable that many cups / plates, some of which still had food on them, remained in the hall near other rooms, sometimes the next day. This attracts vermin. We saw this especially in the morning at breakfast, there were mice walking along the wall in the breakfast room. Breakfast was well catered for especially on weekends. We have booked 3 nights, from Saturday to Tuesday. Especially on Tuesday morning there was poor replenishment. Bread baskets were empty, and only after complaints from several guests did anyone wake up and ensure that they were refilled. Little choice of fruit, it seemed that the staff were heavily understaffed compared to the weekend. Background music should be unobtrusive, it usually was, but at one point rap music popped through the boxes and terms such as "m * therf * cker" and "b * tch" were heard several times. This is really not possible, there are also children eating, then you are not going to set this up?
It's a nice hotel, nice rooms, with some improvements, but those blunders with breakfast and music and the late collection of half-empty plates from the room service really can't. Unfortunately I cannot make more than 3 stars.

2 of us joined later but there was no wait staff who came to us asking if we would like a drink for that we beckoned someone
After that it took a very long time for them to ask if we wanted something to eat
There was no question whether everything was satisfactory during the meal
Old glasses were not taken and when finally the dessert came, the old glasses and the plates of the main course were still there
Someone from the service took 1 cup and put it 2 meters further on the rack and left the rest
The bouncer was simple for the amount sorbet was tasty only it was not put on a tray but in the warm tubs of the serving ice cream was still hard but warm weather and your hand around. the drinking was not asked about while that day it was 30 degrees or something

And the disabled toilet was defective for people who did not have a room, so that you could not normally go to the toilet
So if the operator pays a little more attention
Empty glass ask if it needs to be filled and remove everything that is empty

On transit of 3 nights van der Valk Assen here in Akersloot just a sanitary stop and a drink. Neat and above all clean toilets. Van der Valk = always good for sleeping, eating, drinking. Staff is always equally friendly and helpful. Van der Valk ... you just have to do!

Great ambiance, nice staff. The food is great but not the cheapest. Our retreat for a good lunch White on the road.

Very nice and modern hotel. Free parking spaces, lockable bike boxes, great wellness area with large swimming pool and fitness studio, free WiFi.

Hotel is next to the highway. We were not bothered by it.

Very nice hotel with nicely furnished rooms. Very suitable if you want to get away from it all. Indoor swimming pool with sauna / steam cabin is also large enough for several visitors. Typically extensive breakfast and dinners also highly recommended. Not much to do in the immediate area, you have to go a little further for that.

The decor is just as good as in Emmen I personally found the schnitsel and mushroom sauce a bit less. The sauce fit on a soup spoon so very little and no mayonnaise with the fries.

Dinner was ok, a bit overpriced. Service, however, was really slow.

Not too friendly did a manager give? that there was no staff enough to serve a table somewhere with coffee ..... very unfortunate we are better used to vd Valk. .... just next time to Hoorn or Wieringerwerf

Sunday brunch is definitely recommended but I think it is very 20th century that there is no possibility to change a child in the men's room. And then also a cleaner who asks you in a blunt way to change your child in the powder room. Just provide decent facilities! Enough is being invested in the building, just arrange this. Space was just a piece of furniture.

Enjoyed a delicious extensive lunch buffet here. Wide choice of hot, cold and dessert dishes for a reasonable price.

Good food. Too bad for the customer that it is so busy and noisy. Could do something with it, now it often seems like a crap shed.

Five stars even though the TV didn't work (no TVs worked that night due to a general technical issue) and they used too many throw away items like the plastic cups (packed in plastic wrappers) in the bathroom instead of glasses, prepackaged portions of butter, jam and other stuff at breakfast. It might be more practical but it's environmentally questionable. Otherwise a great hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms, good food an drinks. I liked the fact that the electricity in the room was always on without having to activate it with the room card so that we could charge our phones while out having breakfast.

The service was not great, the food was a bit dry croquette, too bad
