Van der Valk Hotel Akersloot Review

Location is on point but the exterior looks a bit bland. Stayed for lunch which took longer than needed. Service was adequate but nothing special.

Big, nice and clean rooms. Excellent restaurant and breakfast.

New Year meeting, from a large network company, speech and a New Year's breakfast, insufficient sandwiches, etc, had to be topped up to 2x, parking more than sufficient, all looks old

Super hotel very attractive, clean, wonderful hot tub, good food and very friendly staff

So far one of the best hotels I was allowed to visit. Breakfast great room great. Some even spoke German. English was never a problem either way. I haven't tried the swimming pool and fitness, but looked very well-kept.
I will be back and also make a recommendation here.

Took a long time before they saw me. Food was not good either

The waitstaff was very rude. We requested a jug of water for the table but this was not possible unless everyone ordered a drink could we have water. After the appetizers we were served our dinner and we requested silverware as ours was taken away. We were told the silverware was over there in the bin, as we looked dumbstruck to the waiter he volunteered to get them. The fish and chips were extremely greasy and one part of the fish smelled off. We requested the waiter to take it back to the kitchen. We were told there was no off smell and basically were told off. No apologies nor substitute offered.
We will not return to this restaurant ever.

Akersloot Van Der Valk Hotel.
A striking place next to the A9. Easily accessible from Alkmaar and Beverwijk / Heemskerk. Clearly marked spacious parking spaces for the cars. Reservations possible for groups and passers-by are also welcome.
Friendly staff and they almost don't sell NO. At the reception you can obtain the necessary information, also for booking an overnight stay and of course about dining in the restaurant. The dishes are ordered and divided into groups and you can eat anything at will and the drinks are served at the table by staff who also always clean up the used plates, cutlery and glasses. I enjoyed a fine working restaurant with delicious dishes and excellent staff who perform their duties wonderfully to make us feel like royalty as a customer. Highly recommended.!!!!!!

Yes. It is wonderful to have a coffee stop here. There is a very wide range of cakes here.

You can eat well there a pity that they no longer have the hawai that was super tasty but they have a lot of goodies

Fantastic place to stay. Reception isn't immediately noticeable when arriving in the car park, but my room had a whirlpool bath, reception team very friendly, catering staff attentive.

Great for lunch, fast friendly service. Prices reasonable. For 3x double brown bread croquette and 6x cappuccino a little more than 40 euros. Seats neat, was very busy around 12:00.

Everything fine so no comment. Only the knife at dinner which is very blunt. In combination with the wrinkled plate the use was all the more annoying. Success with the improvement.

Had a light dinner with friends, both coming back from Italy. Me by car, they by plane. Perfect location on the road back home. Kind and professional staff. The chosen light dishes looked great and more important, tasted wonderful.

Best van der Valk I have ever been to. Come here regularly.

Clearly already an older vd Valk. Does not show really modern anymore. The kitchen is good, better fabrics in the restaurant.

Been here several times for dinner. The food is always delicious and never a disappointment. The tomato soup with meatballs, ribeye and Spanish coffee were a real treat! However, every time I've been here the service is extremely slow and we usually have to ask several waiters the same thing to get something done (e.g. a drink or a sauce that is forgotten). For that I deducted one star since if happened more than twice. Somehow it is always full at the parking area near the entrance but enough parking spots available at the hotel area. Reservations recommended.

Life cooking done with a bachelor party. The service was very friendly and quick with the drink replenishment. Food is generally good, but it would be more convenient if they prepare smaller amounts of meat and fish. Now some pieces have been left in the warming trays for too long and it gets dry. Sin of the salmon and pork tenderloin.

Here we always start our vacation, 10 km from home. Just unwind.

Yes it is big and there are many people. But you can still have a normal conversation at the table. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is served at a neat pace and is certainly of good quality when you consider the price.

Plaice and slipper tongue on the "sticky" side. Seemed to come from the steamer instead of from the pan and that was a shame! Salad bar, fries, baked potatoes and beets very tasty.

Nice Restaurant, friedly staff. Still, a bit artificial

The hotel is really good and the wellness center is great. I had a few problems, however, during my stay. First, I had booked a late check-out stay and when I arrived they said I couldn't have it for the tariff I paid. Also, it was my birthday and I was going to celebrate it in the hotel's restaurant that night, but they said it was already fully booked (so, don't expect to have a place to eat as guaranteed if you book only the room). Luckily, after a long talk with the manager, these problems were solved. In the bedroom, the bed is terrible; I had an awful back pain in the morning. Also the bath was not working. Since I spent most of the time in the wellness center, my gereral experience was good.

What a great location. Rooms, restaurant and facilities really top notch. Great to stay, also really nice as a stopover. Come here more often for an overnight stay before I have to be in North Holland the next day. Rooms are more than luxurious and the breakfast is extensive.

Very nice food if you go buffets. Enjoyed a couple of hours sitting there in an immense noise of old people zijn year. always seems like they come straight out of the church. Further, the staff, and I mean, girls of 16 years, or friendly but not a word is said. Well I'm not sure that "forbidden" in this association of child labor. They certainly do all of them for 3.52 the hour. they go immediately two hours before the buffet and clearing bit earlier so they are ready for the next wave of people.

This time I did the dinner buffet for my grandmother's 90th birthday. Despite the fact that the 'people' who come to this place sometimes give a bit of crap, the food is very good! In addition, the service is very friendly.
This time we had a separate room (the Madrid room). Highly recommended!

Very satisfied! Always great to eat here, and despite a lesser experience, it is also resolved immediately as you would expect from a good company. Vandervalk, and certainly this location ... is, in my opinion, the best hotel and restaurant in the Netherlands.

Very busy. Restaurant is a current buffet or buffets with all kinds of variations (French, Chinese, Indian). You can't imagine it! Also starters and desserts. Very good service!

Super hotel with huge pool, very nice large superior room with large shower, jacuzzi bath and very comfortable king size bed. Everything was piko clean and despite the proximity to the A9 amazingly quiet.
Strange I found that room and breakfast must be paid in advance.
The breakfast was for 2 nights 27 and rich.

Good ambiance. Food quality is deteriorating. Fruits in canned desserts, canned apple sauce for kids. Operation very variable in quality.

Hotel will be good, but dinner is not a good idea takes very long for dinner to be ready. And the people walking around don't pay much attention either. Drink okay but then take the menu with you.

I am a van der valk fan but for the time being I skip a ditch during dinner very annoying approached by a female manager because our dog was suddenly no longer allowed on our lap, we have been coming here for years and it was never a problem even this time the service said that they was not allowed on the chair but on my lap was no problem until this lady came on the scene and wanted to make it clear in a very arrogant way that the dog had to be on the floor, however, there was all kinds of filth here, including food scraps I did not want that and the atmosphere was well ruined
Afterwards had a conversation with another gentleman who found it annoying and would have a conversation with her the next day
However, we did not feel taken seriously and the fact that we have been coming there very regularly for 7 years was apparently no reason to do anything to get the atmosphere okay again, he could have offered us a drink in the bar, for example but apparently they have enough business to do their best for loyal customers

3rd time now eaten there this time off the menu.
First of all, it took a huge amount of time before the main course was served. Drinks were moderately supplemented. Ordered the Ribeye medium I got it fried like a shoe sole so tough. Third bad experience, third time bad again. I'm not coming here anymore. Maybe they should look at how things are going at Hotel Haarlem Zuid, because there are never any complaints. Well-trained staff, personal attention and super attention to the dishes. You can taste that there are people in the kitchen who prepare your dish with love. At Akersloot it is like cooking with a recipe. Do something about it this time for me. We will not get there anymore.

The food is very tasty, the staff very friendly. However, the climate control at the back left of the restaurant turns out not to be completely in order: I sat there several times and each time it was just a bit too cool. Except for that only negative words!
There is often even a parking space in front of the door when it appears that the parking lot is full, so a tip would be to just drive past the wrongly parked cars that make it look like it is full.

Very nice hotel. Nice rooms and nice bathroom. Breakfast is also really great. What I found very serious was the cleaning staff. They just come into the room, although there is a sign on the door that we do not want cleaning etc. and do not want to be disturbed. Were just surprised once when we were still in the room. Don't want to know what it was like when we weren't in the room.

The location is excellent, next to the highway. The service was great and the serving personnel was nice. Also the food is a big plus.
