then this is your place
I do also like birds, but fried with ketchup.

I was there for a 2 day business workshop. The venue was, eh, smelly.
If you went outside to make a phone call - you couldn't hear because of the sounds of birds.

As a positive:
The hotel rooms are okay, nothing fancy but value for money is good.
The hotel bar is open till 0.30 on weekdays - not bad considering being in the middle of nowhere...

Economy for a reasonable price. Generous rooms, decor OK. On hot days you miss air conditioning and only one small window can be opened.

Quite friendly hotel, clean but in need of a reburbishment, but OK for a night

A bit hectic at Easter. English or German partly difficult. Food very good

The only downside is that not all rooms have air conditioning in hot times.

Nice rooms, good restaurant. Bird Park is good, the red pandas are cute. It's in a good location for visiting Alphen aan de Rijn. Would stay here again.

Nice hotel with a nice bird park. We always find live cooking very pleasant. The service is always very alert and friendly

The toilet is very clean. I didn't get much of the staff, but at the following show they were very polite.

We stayed here in corona time (restaurant closed). Good hotel. Had some glitches with the room at first but these were resolved very adequately and in no time by the friendly staff. Great breakfast.

It all seems a bit dated. This location could use a renovation. Nothing to complain about at the park.

After the rather negative reviews on Zoover, we were curious. Friendly staff everywhere. Neat room (106) with a nice view of the park. We knew that it had an older bathroom, but it was clean and the shower was nice. Nice that you can walk in and out of the park. Breakfast was less than we are used to from one van der Valk, but this is certainly not worth a bad review. Worth repeating. Ps neatly arranged also due to the corona rules, everything was seriously cleaned in the restaurant.

Busy terrace with little service. Poor girl ... sandwich was delicious after a long wait.

The pleasure of waking up in a park with ostriches at your window. ..But the hotel a bit disappointing if you compare to other vandervalk ...

Was not really impressed with the "live cooking" I booked at this Van der Valk. The people that cooked were not so friendly and the food tasted pretty bad in my opinion, not something I'm used to at Van der Valk. The hotel itself is fine, but would need a revamp since everything is so old.

Nice and cozy small-scale park. It is not full day, but the bugs that are there are very nice. Besides the birds, they have a beautiful group with ring-tailed lemurs and the pelicans are also very impressive !!

Fine eaten. Nice weather so sit outside on the terrace. What a pity that smoking is allowed on such a terrace.
Maybe create a little more space between the smoking and non-smoking areas.

Very nice, especially because of Avifauna. Also recommended for families with (young) children. The restaurant in the park had a very good and affordable 6-course menu.

Slightly outdated, but everything is clean and in order. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is tasty and cared for as with any Vandervalk.

Supermooi Vondelpark for young and old. Easily accessible, great parking space and wheelchair friendly

A delicious lunch with friendly service who likes to please you.

Avifauna park is very nicely laid out, many special, beautiful and large birds. Much to see, also in the greenhouses. And for those who love it: feed loris and walk among the maki half monkeys!

The hotel was in a nice place together with the park. The rooms looked neat. The service was excellent and the food was super. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant, we have already had lunch there several times.

We had a package with food in the restaurant. Really a family park, where the children have been thought of. Here the children can still roam freely in the restaurant, without being skewed. The bird park that is included is nice, just like the playground.

Great hotel room was big a bit dirty and rude older woman when we went to eat in the restaurant. The bed had a nice mattress and bedding but a slatted base through which the boards slid a few times and you could not turn too much. But nice and spacious room and spacious bathroom.

We regularly come here if we don't feel like cooking. Lovely family restaurant with a good menu and they also work with regional products. They also have a monthly menu every month.

Delicious all you can eat restaurant with many seats

Due to a festival stayed 1 night but was a bit disappointing. It was very hot in the room, balcony door opened hard and during breakfast a waitress bumped into me and I got hot water over my hand. She didn't come back to ask how it went. Too bad this.

This was at Avifauna in Alphen aan den Rijn. Nice casual atmosphere. Slightly dated, excellent cuisine, normal prices. We enjoyed.

Nice park to spend a few hours. The atmosphere isn't too 'touristically', but genuinely relaxed. Animals are nice to see in real life; especially the lemurs.

At the roadside restaurant you can not only order a nice dinner, but you can also have a delicious lunch. Lots of choice and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Nice compact park, beautiful birds. The circle around the puddle between the animals is very nice, especially with the half monkeys there. Many animals close up view. I enjoyed the bird show and there is also a very nice playground. Park is a bit outdated here and there, but well worth the visit and the repeat. Surprisingly fun!

Booked 2 rooms here in July 2020 to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had the wellness suite and a comfort room. My husband is unfortunately terminally ill and when I mentioned this at the reception and asked if we could be in the suite with 3 men during dinner and breakfast, because of extra help we needed, this was no problem. They even rebooked the comfort room so that it was on the same floor as the suite and left out the extra cost of delivering breakfast and dinner to the room.
We really had a wonderful time and are very satisfied and grateful for the kindness and helpfulness of the hotel
Then about the rooms themselves. The comfort room is spacious, clean and equipped with everything you need. The suite is very spacious, clean and luxurious. The Jacuzzi is large enough for two people and has pleasant jets. The sauna is pleasant and easy to operate. There is a pour-on next to it, so you can pour if you like. There is also a rain shower and of course a toilet. The toilet is behind a separate door in the bathroom, which we personally find more pleasant than integrated in the bathroom, so that's a plus.
The view from the suite is phenomenal. You look directly at a replica of the Sneker gate and behind it the residence of the ostriches. In the evening and in the morning you can hear the many birds of the park, which you can visit for free if you are a hotel guest. Really recommend!
You can park for free at the hotel and there is a lift and wheelchair ramp. The food was delicious and the room service was also very friendly.
