Valhalla is a cozy corner pub that sits right across Church St. from Romare Bearden Park in the heart of uptown.
The busy St. Patrick's day was especially hard because of the pandemic. But none the less, we had to go out. And this place is great.
Will be back with many friends.
The food is great, however, their staff behind the bar, do not understand Under North Carolina law and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), people with disabilities may bring their service animals to all "public accommodations," such as restaurants, museums, hotels, and stores. These laws also require those who operate transportation services to allow service animals. They do not wish to understand nor correct the issue after accepting service to someone with a a service animal, and taking their order, they abruptly changed their minds and refused to offer service. It was a true disgrace. Don t support those who do not support people with service animals.
Found this restaurant by chance. Good food, good menu and and a good bar selection. Definitely go back again when I'm in Charlotte, NC.
I absolutely love this place! The ambience, the music and especially with he food! Their Northern Eggs Benedict, Ahi Tuna salad and fish and chips are to die for. The staff is polite, friendly and provide great service. I m not one to write reviews... but they are simply amazing. Thanks guys!!!
Small place with a great atmosphere. The food is top notch, I highly recommend the fish and chips. The craft beer selection, but their signature craft mixed drinks are off the chart. If visiting the Charlotte uptown, you should definitely enjoy an experience at Valhalla!
Food is amazing, service was great. I highly recommend the people s pot roast with mashed potatoes the seasonings they use on their food is just perfect. I have ate here almost every day for the past week as we are doing work in the area. I have tried several dishes and not once have I been disappointed. Also extremely happy we didn t get hassled for no mask as there was no point walking from the door 4ft to our table. Definitely coming back!
Give the real Viking feel. Dine in the Great Hall! & The food is awesome! Amazing customer service but in the sense that's its personal, a warm viking welcome if you get what I mean
We came here during the pandemic when it was at its worst. Valhalla was open and we enjoyed ourselves then. Fast forward nine months later, we were in town and decided to try it again.
We sat at a table and had a multitude of servers. It seemed as it is a smaller place and they kind of all share the responsibilities with each other. We had energetic servers that were on top of us to make sure we were satisfied with everything. The food was plentiful and had a great flavor to it. The pot roast, melted in your mouth.
We did love our experience that we returned for another meal again. The meal was the same as the writing above. Fresh, hot, flavorful, and great service.

It s a pub environment with fine dining food. Honestly and truly, after living in Pacific NW for nearly 2 decades...THIS IS THE BEST FISH & CHIPS I ve ever had.
Perfect presentation, consistency, flavor...all the things!
