Hogle Zoo is full of fun and entertaining functions where you learn about all the excitement of each animal. I feel like hogle Zoo tries to let each animal have it's focus on being oh so important and show off there gifts given from God. Hogle Zoo shows all this there best way. Fun, great environment, fun for all ages. Love the hogle zoo

The zoo and animals are great! They charge a bit much for the giraffe feeding and train though. My 4 year old daughter wanted to feed the giraffe and because I didn't want her to approach it without one of her parents they charged me in addition even though I had no interest in feeding the giraffe. I explained this to the employee and was told they couldn't make exceptions. Oh well...

Burger meat is awful... nice cafetetia..but food needs to step up several notches to command fancy prices. Also sad that $2 toys are $7 in the prescious gift shop.. between the gift shop and the horrible lunch i spent $70 beyond the ticket price. HOW would you feel ?

On a postive note, Sunday is the day to go... on this cloudy Dec 7th day, it was deserted ... No programs, just holiday lights... giraffes can't be seen unless they feel like coming out in their new diggs..... 2.5 hrs.. ride the carousel for $2.. if you have to stand next to a paying child, you're free.

They have great memberships that make going multiple times doable. During the summer we go every week and the kids get to cool off at the splash pad in the middle of the day. They have staff at almost every exhibit always eager to tell you all about the animals and answer any questions you have. It's a great educational experience disguised as a fun outing.
I recommend packing a lunch and snacks as it can get rather pricey otherwise. The refillable cups are worth the $5 because you get $1 refills and can keep bringing them back time after time.

Horrible experience. I understand that there are restrictions due to covid but there were very few animals out and very dirty. The lions had no water either. There was no discount even though most of the exhibits were closed. We usually stay for about 4 hours this time we stayed for 1.

Too over priced. Animals are never in tanks. Polar Bear looked like he was dying. Not enough water for the alligators. Conditions were not great for the wild life they are trying to house. Animals didn't seem happy at all.

Wonderful zoo, not many animals out, but some of that was the hot weather. Nice location and parking. Tad expensive, but the animals need the love so we were happy to pay. A must see location.

I love coming to the zoo and seeing the animals. All the animals look well taken care of and very happy. No matter how old I get I m still always looking forward to a trip to the zoo. I have yet to have a bad experience. I love the shows and events they provide, I truly believe the staff members care for these animals and love them.

We went late morning which seemed to be the perfect time to go to the Asian Highlands at Hogle Zoo. The fall weather was cool with a light wind. We also didn t have to fight with huge crowds.

Both the Amur Leopard and tiger were active and moving.

They had just fed the tiger a rabbit and it was incredibly fascinating watching the tiger first strip the fur off with his raspy tongue and then dig into his meal.

We watched the leopard pace back and forth. The spots and coloring are gorgeous.

They are doing a good job of keeping it safe during the pandemic. Everyone has to wear masks at all times. There are arrows to show you the flow of traffic and dots in high congestion areas to show you where to stand to keep 6 feet apart.
The animals are all out and active despite the cold because it is so quiet.

We weren't sure exactly how things would really be. So many places say one thing and once inside you see the opposite. We were impressed with everything that was set in place for social distancing. The only thing we were disappointed with was that when buying tickets, it states that masks were required and to bring your own. We did and do wherever we go. However, even at the entrance, it was not being enforced. That was disappointing.

It was a great place to visit. Apparently it's been a while since I've been because it's a little different. The giraffes are at the front to greet you. You can feed them for $5. They now have a splash pad for the kids so plan on them getting wet. We spent a few hoyrs there and saw everything.

I love Hogle zoo. They are always trying to upgrade and bring in new animals. The premier booster membership is so worth it. We come 3 times a month at least. My two year old loves the train, playground, merry go round, and of course the animals.

One of the best experiences I have ever had at a zoo! The animals are happy and energetic, the staff is friendly and willing to answer questions, there is plenty of shade, and great informative tools! Everything here is great! 100% recommend this!

So impressed with the zoo's views on health and natural conservation of wildlife. I've always loved the zoo, but felt worried for animals held in captivity. Throughout the day, workers here have helped to put my mind at ease by explaining their care for the animals, that the animals chosen are ones who were having a hard time surviving in the wild for various reasons, and how each entry ticket contributes to wildlife conservation efforts. Not to mention, the shows have been great, I got to help feed a girraffe, and this is a great day!

A family favorite for over a decade (and going back longer in the 2 previous generations).
We love coming in the summer, but even better is coming to some of the special events like Feat with the Beasts on Thanksgiving morning, or Zoo lights.
Also, in January and February is the best time to visit as the animals are more active, in part due to the cooler temps and in part due to it being rutting season. Also since there are fewer people in the winter months you have the zoo mostly to yourself which make is easier to get up close to the glass and get some good photos, etc.

Such a great zoo! There were lots of animals to see and even a playground for the kids. We didn't ride the train, but it looked fun. Definitely try to see the animals as early as possible. By the time we got around to some animals at about 4pm, they had already gone to sleep. Prices were fair for what we got to see.

It is a very nice and friendly atmosphere that you are greeted with when you come into the Hogle Zoo. The employees are personable and kind, the animals are rescues or were raised in captivity and the employees treat them well. My only issue with it was that the glass in most exhibits was absolutely filthy as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Also the sand cats were absolutely and completely amazingly adorable and had a breathtaking snow leopard.

It's a nice zoo. It is relatively small but they do a nice job trying to get you close to the animals. It's also well spaced out so you never have to walk to far between exhibits. The bird show is really great and the carousel is worth the price. The train is good for small kids or if you want a glimpse of the Sahara animals (giraffes, zebras, ostrich, and lions) from the other side but not really worth it for older kids.

Really cool zoo the kids will love it. Get the punch pass for the carousel or have the highest zoo member pass for the cheapest why to ride it over and over. With the zoo member passes there is perks to getting it. The zoo has some great holiday activities!! Bundle up when you go to zoo lights.

The animals always are healthy and the areas that they are in are nice. This is a great place to take your kids to on the weekends. There are lions, giraffes, and zebras so all of the classics are covered. The reptile room was my personal favorite because of the bird room and all of the different types of reptiles and insects. I m also very excited for the red pandas to be introduced.

The animals here do not have enough space or environments that are natural to them in some cases. Somehow they keep spending money to remodel, but things don't actually get better for the animals. It is also super expensive without much to see for it.

The kids interaction and animal exhibits are really nice. They display the animals while still allowing them room to roam. There are 2 playgrounds within the zoo. This keeps my kids entertained and busy all day. The seal exibit is by far my favorite. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.
