*Scam, Dont waste your time*
I've modeled for years with agencies and after a break, I wanted to get back into it. I met at Urban with some sort of director. They had me walk a runway and then told me I need to pay them to make a portfolio. I had a beautiful, updated portfolio in hand, that included the work of 6 amazing photographers. Then when I said no, the lady went off about how I'm too heavy to do runway anyway and unless I have their portfolio I won't get work. She was extremely rude and I immediately left. I am 6ft size 3, and I am thin. I have never been told to lose weight by someone in the modeling world. These people scam cute young people into thinking that need to pay $1,000+ for their portfolio. I've worked with models, and photographers for 9 years now. I have never heard of any sucessful model having a good experience here.

Urban talent has been so great. I have been with them for 4 years and have booked numerous shoots over the years. The effort you put in is a direct result in the success you have. They do a great job at giving you the tools to learn, grow, and improve all your skill set.

Urban Talent Management has been such an amazing opportunity for me. Tina and Kendall are super awesome with making sure you are top notch in this business & that you re prepared for anything that comes your way! The trainings have been super helpful and the team overall are phenomenal and want the best for you in this business!

I have started Modeling with Urban Talent Management about 3 months ago! I have the most amazing experience Tina is a perfect trainer for the workshops, she makes every single bit of it fun! I learned so much in just those 2 days of training! I thank them everyday for turning me into the person I am today!

The team here at Urban Talent is exceptional! I myself am a new talent, but the help and support that I have received is incredible. In the short amount of time that I have been signed with Urban I have been amazing by how professional and comfortable the work environment is. The staff is helpful with any question, concern, or doubt that I may have, and they strive to help me progress. I have loved the training that I have received and the people that I have met. I get weekly emails with opportunities to obtain work, and emails from the agents asking how I am doing personally. I am very excited to keep working with the Urban family, and help with whatever they may need. Awesome agency, don't listen to the negative reviews. By far the biggest in Utah and best agency to be signed with if you're familiar with the business.

The building looked iffy from the outside, but inside it looked more professional, they're not some famous agency. They're only Utah and Idaho, but by gaining experience with them you can get recruited by a bigger or foreign agency. They book gigs for actors and models, many different types of work. Right now they are looking for fresh faces to add to their talent. The secretary is very nice, and the two interviewers made an interview worth practicing for. Answers to personal questions and specs were given too.
I personally think that they are good way to get experience, but I guess I'll find out what its really like.

Urban Talent is a great company that has a strong desire to help everyone of their recruits. From the very beginning, there were a lot of details but they were so willing to walk me through every bit of it so I didn t get confused or lost by the way side. My schedule can be kind of crazy at times and they have been able to work with me so I can still get all my training in and start working. They have good connections and are will go to bat for their clients! If you want to get into modeling or acting, I d definitely recommend this company!!

I know going into your own business such as modeling and investing in yourself, a lot of people don t understand the depth of what it takes, at Urban Talent they are dedicated to make sure you have the tools and resources to create success if you want it! They make it known their goal is to create and teach you how to be a professional in the field and an overall educated, high vibe and confident human being!

Nightmare of a company to work with, and for. Straight up prey off of people and are trying to snake their way through the industry any way they can here.

It s totally understandable to be extra careful of your assets especially since the market here is smaller, but how they treat their clients and employees is borderline slavery.

We will be seeking full litigation with this company as they don t return your calls, emails, or really contact at all if you have problems with them.

Flat out disgusted and am ashamed to have even given them the business I did.

Urban Talent Management is a great company to work with. They constantly send out emails about opportunities for modeling and acting jobs, and it s really up to you to decide if you want to get booked by applying and responding to these communications.

All trainings, either online or in-person, are very easy to understand. The directors are friendly and professional, and super responsive to questions and concerns from their talents.

Overall, I give Urban Talent 5/5, for quality of their training, thoroughness, communication, and professionalism.

Half the 5 star reviews are their scouts, we have modeling groups with piles of screenshots of their messages. I was told I d have to pay $1800 to sign with them. Then when I brought my boyfriend so he could receive the same information I got, and we had to sit in the lobby for over an hour PAST our appointment time. Only to walk out because the receptionist said he d check what was taking so long at the 30 minute mark, and never returned. Not even to answer the phone, which rang multiple times. They force you to take classes that don t apply to you. I.e. I was told I d have to take an acting class, but I m not an actress. Some models have already taken said classes, but were still forced to take them again after signing. Urban is notorious for sending the wrong talent to auditions. I.e. sending a male to an audition for a female role & vice versa. Multiple models have complained about being sent to an audition , only for the address to be wrong, or there is no audition at that time. If you want genuine opinions and experiences with Urban Talent, contact the Utah Models Only or Utah Models Safe Haven Facebook groups to get screenshots and information from the models themselves.
*in regards to their response. Leaving the desk is one thing, but leaving a lobby with multiple people waiting with a ringing phone for an extended period of time doesn t reflect as professional. No one said they don t get paid. The few models who actually speak up in your defense are highly satisfied. But there are far more models who speak up agains your agency. I am well aware my tattoos are not what an agency is looking for, but due to your very persistent scouts, I decided to at least get more information. I know for a fact at least 10 of these reviews are/were scouts. Or at least pretended to be. As far as the timeframe for the review, I didn t do one sooner due to just assuming I had a fluke experience. But after a very rude and unprofessional conversation between someone claiming to be a scout and a model I am very close to, I decided to post my experience. It is also a common topic that is brought up.
Circling back to the tattoo thing really quick, that is also something that is brought up frequently. If you do not want tattooed models, then don t let your scouts message tattooed models. Don t waste our time. Same with colored hair. Clearly I don t stay one color for an extended amount of time, neither do a lot of other models, yet we get messaged to come in, then are turned away for it. Things like this build up negative emotion and opinions.

I love Urban. I ve been with them since 2014! I ve had nothing but a good experience with them. I m going out on auditions and booking with them consistently. Now that I m a regular they know me by name and can always count on me when there is work. The only reason I gave them a 4 star instead of a 5 star is it just takes a little time to get paid, but you get your money!!! Other than that the staff are amazing and have your best interests at heart :)

It's a scam. Classic preying upon innocent people. "Hey you should model, come see us." Sound familiar? Then they charge a bunch of money for "training". Money most of you will never recoup. Their cash flow comes from the classes, not commissions. Most people taking these classes will never book a paid gig and will lose all of their investment to Urban. Not cool. Notice how many of the 5 star reviews are from people with only one review. Of course now Urban will probably ask them to go a review some other business so it doesn't look so shady!
Join the Facebook group Modeling Utah, ask for candid responses regarding Urban and you will hear dozens of true, gut-wrenching negative experiences people have had with Urban, I promise.
I've been part of the Utah talent industry for 20 years. I've seen agencies come and go. What Urban does is down right shameful. They need to go away. IF you want to meet with a real agency try TMG, McCarty, or Niya. These are legitimate agencies. Urban needs to be shut down. Again, PLEASE UNDERSTAND that vast majority of their positive reviews ARE SOLICITED by Urban themselves. They are well aware of their nasty reputation. Rather than change it by doing what is right and closing their doors or stop preying upon innocent victims and simply sign people free of charge that they have full intentions of actually booking they simply ask their own to submit positive reviews. Pathetic. Run, even if you have potential as a legitimate booking model, go sign with a respectable agency versus these scumbags.

Oh, and BTW this is how deceitful they are. After the local modeling community made a major drive to alert people that an agency shouldn't be charging their models for training, guess what!? They started Style Inc. SAME people! But now they try and tell people "Oh no, we don't charge, we're a legitimate agency. We would never..." GIVE IT UP ALREADY!

Urban Talent Management is a very professional company. Everyone is friendly and always helpful to any question you might have.
I have absolutely loved working with them so far.

I've worked with Urban Talent since 2012 and have enjoyed working with the agents. Tina is very good about keeping us in mind and submitting us to clients on a regular basis. My kids, and I, typically work at least once a month and we enjoy working on sets with professionals.If you are professional and positive while on set, clients will directly book you. Urban Talent offers a representation and negotiations between the talent and the client. If your images are used outside of contract, they will contact the client to discuss compensation. I have been very happy with being represented by Urban Talent.

I'm new to the industry and I had a lot of questions and was really confused on everything really, but after the Style Workshop I had with Urban, I felt so much better! Tina really knows what she is doing, along with everyone else at the agency. They help you know what you need to do to improve. On top of that everyone there is SO NICE.

I signed with Urban back in August and I have been loving it. I have gotten so much promotional work that has helped build my self confidence. The Style workshops were awesome, there really is so much more to the industry than people think and Tina and all of the staff do an amazing job at teaching about it. The classes are fun and they really helped to get me comfortable and out of my shell while also teaching about the logistics and responsibilities the industry requires. I felt more confident after my initial 12 hour workshops and am looking forward to the extended workshops. This industry is not for the faint of heart and there is so much more to it then looking good, the workshops are eye opening and very much needed. I truly believe the staff is very dedicated to helping their talent reach their full potential in being the best they can be!

I signed with Urban Talent in March 2016 and I am so glad I did! I also signed up with Style Incorporated to learn how to do print and commercial work. As I went through Style it taught me that modeling isn t just a pretty face but a skill. Just like any sport you learn or foreign language, you learn it and master it. I would recommend Style Incorporated to everyone because it gives you more opportunities to go audition and book work! It s helped me so much and it s life training so even better! Urban always delivers and has been booking models for the last 20 years. They are professional, engaging, and the talent care is exceptional! Friendly directors I love everything about this agency, how they get to know you, how they send me jobs weekly and how they prepare myself to be ready for any catalogue, runway, commercial, promotional... all the types of talents, no restriction, serious contract, all worthy and I would sign up with them again 1000x

I don t know where to begin honestly! I ve been in the industry for almost 7 years now and I can t tell you how much this Talent Agency has helped me grow in just the two months I ve been signed. I just kinda acted like I knew what I was doing or would practice or create techniques on my own but after their Style Inc. training course and the extended classes that are coming up in the future, I can t wait to keep practicing and growing! They're truly worth it! People in the industry talk about paying your dues and staying up on your craft and honestly these guys PROVE THAT! It s worth it! They always respond within a reasonable time frame, very kind and inclusive. The last agency who scouted me was very critical of my body, but urban has been nothing but encouraging.

the worst place ever. they thought they could trick me into signing SCAM ALERT

I got scouted and signed with Urban over 4 years ago. I wanted to start off with saying that signing with a modeling agency doesn t magically book you jobs. You have to put in the work, otherwise nothing will happen. I know that a lot of the bad reviews are coming from the training/portfolio pricing, but here s the thing: without the training I received, I would ve never booked a job. Period.
A few months after completing my training course and going to extended workshops, I booked L Oreal at 15 years old. I have Rhyan to thank for all of that, alongside Camilla and Tina for giving me the shot.
Rhyan is genuinely a great person, mentor and trainer. In my opinion Urban could be asking for double the amount for the training you receive from Style Inc. and Extended s.
I stopped modeling for 3 years because I had double hip surgeries and I was too embarrassed to get back into it since I am now considered Full-Figure. Out of nowhere I get this message from Rhyan saying how much he believes and me and how he hopes I never stop modeling. That showed me how much they really do care about their models success.
Long story short I went back and I can t even begin to explain the IMPROVEMENTS and DEDICATION that have come from Urban within the past couple of years. They were already great to begin with but now I m amazed. I have love for all of the employees at Urban. I have always had my questions answered and I ve always felt welcome. Urban is a great agency to sign with as long as you are willing to put in the work.

Just signed with urban recently and have been loving the workshops I ve been doing. I ve learned a lot from Tina and everyone there is so helpful. Everyone there is super nice and encouraging!! When I signed it did take a bit of money but I didn t have to pay in full right away, so that s nice it helps a lot! :)

I had a wonderful time at my training, and the modeling industry is something that you cannot easily jump in to, it is learning process. Urban TM gives you all the tools you need to learn, and become the best you can be. Without the knowledge they offer, I would be walking onto a set blindly. By having this training it shows off my capabilities and personality in a way that I didn t know I could channel. I know that I will feel prepared and confident, walking into any casting. I also know that I can continue to get better because of the resources I am offered there. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking to accelerate their career in the modeling industry, and feel confident about more than just their physical look.

I signed up as a 5 year old and i am still a child actor with them today best agency ever!

I haven't been getting enough jobs... I've been with Urban for two years and I've only got one job as a promotional model. I attended workshops, replied to every email that fit my description and my schedule, and did quite well checking in weekly. I stopped doing those things a while ago though, because I was struggling to get paid for the promotional job and I was considering leaving.

I also haven't felt like anyone is in good contact with me. Does anyone know me? Would they recognize me without my headshot and check-in email? NOPE. My personal agent messaged me on Facebook asking to sing with them. Uhhhhhh, yeah I'm already signed with you????? Embarrassing.

Lastly, I paid a lot of money to shoot with Patrick (as does everyone) and my experience was FAR from professional. He talked bad about the staff at Urban and told me to whisper when we talked so the staff couldn't hear us. He bad talked the other models he shot with that week. He ranted about how mixed-race babies are a tragedy (seriously.) and other racist remarks. And he told me not to tell you but he wanted to shoot with me for free again in the future. (Also his photos were horrible.)

I'm friends with a few models who are satisfied with Urban as their agency, but unfortunately I've had an awful experience.

Urban Talent Management is the best modeling and acting agency!! If you want to break into the business, there's no better way in Utah and Idaho. They are so open, so welcoming, and so helpful. If you want to be a model or actor, they will provide you with all of the training, tools and experience you need to be successful. Urban has an open door. They are approachable and so accommodating. Their management and staff is so kind and so good at what they do. Not only do they offer exemplary training, they offer the best and most frequent opportunities. Not only did I sign up myself for modeling and acting, I signed up four of my kids. Not only did we take the Style Inc workshops, we also took all three levels of the Professional Acting Workshops (PAW). We learned so much from all of the training and it has helped us in so many ways. We were all so well trained that we've been able to achieve so much success! My son has acted in national commercials and feature films, and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. My other two sons took what they learned from PAW and now have careers making short films and music videos, working with industry professionals. None of this could have been possoble without Urban Talent Management.

After looking into them after numerous people contacting me on social media my final verdict is get as far away from them as you can. No legitimate agency should be making their money of fees. They will literally sign anyone they can. I know too many models who lost money to this scam only to find out the real deal and actually make money and work when they signed with a real agency. If you took the thousands of dollars they ask for and lit it on fire and put it in YouTube you would do more for your career than signing with them.

Response: it s unfortunate that you chose to lie about how you do business by scamming young and naive hopefuls. I have never heard a good word about you anywhere and I ve seen firsthand how you scam models out of their money. Everyone that I know that s been unfortunate enough to sign your sham contract has had more success without you.

Heads up, they make most of their money off of their classes, photographer, and website they try to make you pay for when you sign with them. You cannot sign with them unless you pay at least $1700 which is nuts. Luckily, I knew better and didn t sign on. I wish more people knew how sketchy it is to pay agencies other than whatever commission they get from your work. Not to mention, they were really very condescending when I met with them for an interview . They also tried to garauntee me that I could land gigs, which is never ever a garauntee for anyone. Ever. No reliable agency will make you pay money to sign on. I was very disappointed to find out that this was a scam instead of a good agency. Be very careful, and don t sign on.

Just recently took some classes from them in Salt Lake and they were very informative and helpful! Felt very professional and I enjoyed it very much.

Urban Talent is an amazing agency to get you up and started into the industry of acting and modeling or even for experienced individuals to add to your knowledge base and experience. There are many known companies I've personally been able to submit bookings for, such as Budweiser, CW, Credit Unions etc. Also all the people involved with the agency are amazing and helpful beyond belief

It sounds like a great setup, but after they tell you everything they have to offer they require you to take $1500 courses to get hired. No talent agency, regardless of where they are, should have you pay that much upfront. If you are serious about modeling or acting or anything in that industry, I suggest looking elsewhere. Every actor friend I talked to was shocked at that amount

I recently signed w/ Urban Talent & they have already helped so much! I have learned some very helpful things & I can already see results w/ what I ve learned from them. It s an amazing company that helps so many people learn very helpful tips & tricks!

This has been an amazing experience so far. They are very involved in making sure you have what you need to be able to progress. There is a fee for training but with all it entails it is worth it. They have trainings monthly so you can always work to improve and progress as your schedule allows. It is super fun and is a wonderful way to grow as an individual.

It has been a very positive experience for our family and kids to work with Urban Talent. We appreciate their positive ongoing support, which helped our kids have greater confidence. Within a month, we have already gone to several auditions. The agency has quite a few opportunities to audition for on their behalf. The staff are responsive and helpful, and our kids had a very positive experience there. The agents work literally around the clock, and we can always reach out their lead agents, even after hours, to get our answers about our casting submissions, requirements. Their booklets have been very helpful to make us look professional from the very beginning.

Urban's only goal is to trick you into paying them exorbitant amounts to develop a portfolio that will get you no where.

I went through my workshops and I had so much fun breaking out of my shell and learning new skills. They provide continuous training, so you are always on your A game. I'm excited to learn and grow with Urban!

They are great at training you and putting you in touch with possible clients. Don't sign up unless you are ready to put in the effort to get out what you put into it. It's up to you to be successfull in the business but they do a great job helping you get there! Highly recommended!

Despite the negative reviews, Urban is a legitimate talent agency that will work hard for those willing to match the time, passion and energy needed to be successful in this industry. Nothing comes for free, and if you sign a contract with them expecting easy money without the work and effort, you're in the wrong business. They set these expectations up front, and your success is what you make of it. Don't expect anything to come easy quickly. Take the classes they offer, be professional, be responsible, perfect your craft, and Urban will do everything they can to help you be successful. Five stars!

I just recently signed with urban and I started the workshops. The trainers and agents they have are amazing. They taught us all that we need to know so we are prepared and ready to go out in the modeling/acting world. They want us to succeed and it shows in all they provide for their talent.

My training with Kendall and Tina was absolutely amazing! They are so informative and they answer any questions you may have right on the spot. If I needed to call them or send them a text, if they don t answer the phone I normally get a response in lo later than 5 minutes. They are so fun to work with, they are very detailed in their zoom meetings as well as in person meetings. I can or wait to work more with them now and in the future!!

I have really enjoyed working with this company. They really care about you and want you to succeed. Things don't come easy, but if you do your part, put in the effort, and listen to what they say, you can have great success. They really try to get to know you personally and they learn your name and things about you. They have to know these things and they do a great job at it. I would recommend giving it a try and putting in the effort with this company.

Everything they do is to lure you in by making you feel it's a real agency ,then once you sign their contract they start taking whatever amount they want out of your acc. You are pretty much stuck trying to pay off $ 1,350 dollars ,I WOULDN'T GIVE THEM EVEN 1 STAR BUT 5 STARS FOR BEING THE BEST SCAMMERS IN UTAH!

If the company has to try and justify that they are not a scam, that's probably a bad sign

For a small business in Utah, Urban Talent is an excellent agency. I've modelled professionally with an international agency doing high-fashion print, runway, and several commercials; however, I didn't receive half the quality of training that I have through Urban. Those who train, coach, share professional information, and do headshots and portfolio shoots for the talent at Urban are highly experienced eced professionals.

The people claiming that Urban is a scam are people who are lazy--possibly even pretty faced and they think their pretty faces are all they need to get them jobs. What they don't understand is that being pretty isn't a hard thing to do, but this industry really does require talent AND A BRAIN. Increasing in your talent takes hard work and training. It takes experiece and professionalism to confidently walk into an audition and actually know what the casting director is asking you to do. Since being with Urban, I've learned that the more persistent you are with them, the more persistent they are with you.

Acting/Modeling takes far more work and knowledge than professional actors and models are given credit for. The people leaving negative reviews are simply lacking in education in this field of work and need
somewhere to go and vent blaming others for their failure in what could have been if they simply would have put in the work that this field requires.

Lastly, you can always judge a good company by how they give back to the community. Urban Talent is always finding ways to give back to the community and allow their models/actors the opportunity to participate regularly in community service opportunities such as putting together sack lunches for hundreds of homeless people in Salt Lake City and organizing food/coat/toy drives.

Overall, I've had a great experience with Urban Talent Management and am more than pleased to be represented by them.

So glad I read the reviews. Alexandra tried signing me on and kept hyping me up to make it seem like I would be a perfect match. BUT SERIOUSLY DO NOT SIGN. The reviews are true!!! Their contract is a scam!!! Please trust the reviews, there is no way to get out of it and I am so glad I do not work for this terrible company!!

This is an all or nothing kinda thing. If you're willing to pay the $1700 class fees, then there's opportunity. Otherwise, don't waste your time going in for an interview.

Honestly I love this agency so much! They have become like a family to me already and I m just a more new face. They are always teaching me new things and being so encouraging, everything is so worth it with them. Not to mention how many jobs they ve helped me book already.

Modeling is great and all but these guys are kinda wack. They're deceitful and sugarcoat the industry. They reel you in by trying to make you feel like it's going to be so sweet and simple but on top of the 1700 dollars that you pay to the company you have to pay a lot of money on upkeeping your portfolio, headshots, paying through the work you receive, which is very minimal out of the gate, unless you want to work promo jobs where you make less than if you just had a normal job. Etc. Etc.

Unless your parents are paying for you don't enter this. It's probably gonna cost more time and money than you have and the payment plan that they set up for me is actually putting me in a lot of financial trouble.

I've been represented by Urban since March and it has been one of the better decisions I've made. I always wanted to get into the industry and I just walked in one day no appointment or anything and was welcomed right in. Since than I've had several castings, auditions and bookings that's is propelling me in the direction I've been seeking. I love this place and recommend it to anyone who is looking to do some great work with great people!
