This place is a joke. I m just gonna be straight forward and say they prey on people who would never otherwise make it in the industry. They get them to pay for classes that don t actually do anything. It s a joke and if you re seriously looking into it best of luck. I ve seen too many people scammed by these losers. Before I signed to this Agency, I read the reviews and of course many of them were bad, but then my friend had one of his friends working here and he loved it so I decided to join. I've loved my time so far there, they were very clear, I signed a contract, I know I how much I owe, I know when I need to pay such amount monthly, they are very friendly and I'm looking forward on working more with them. I think the other people just didn't understand that they signed a contract and they did not read the terms and agreements, and also they've kept in great contact with me so much that I can't forget I signed here and I love it. I just finished the classes which were fun, and now I hope I get some bookings.
Here s how it works, pay 1750 for urban talent to put u on there website, pay another $250 for head shots, pay another 450ish for the workshops, then if people like ur look urban talent makes 20 percent off the top while u work your gigs. Go into debt then slowly work off ur debt, they say they are agents but they just put u on an email list and send u promotions, they are horrible to work with!!!!!!!! Save urself a headache and stay far away!!!! Btw they make u sign a contract for a year and u need to pay them in full by the end or they will sue you!!! Read previous comments they are shady to a point

The short time that I've been with Urban has been wonderful! The people here are friendly, easy to talk to. They are welcoming of all types of beauty. I have not had a bad experience. It's all been good positive vibes. They give you a lot of training and workshops to help develop you and give you a base to start from. They are 50% there to back you if you need help with anything as you yourself are the other 50%.

In 2016 I was able put things on pause so I could give my attention to school + a handful of family crises. To get back in the loop, I took a couple trainings that summer and contacted our wonderful bookings agent when I was ready to work again. ***To my knowledge we are the only agency that has official training; and I mean I kinda like knowing what s expected of me for each job I book.*** It took maybe 2 days until I was out working on a fantastic film project that I can honestly say has changed my life, and expanded my interests. Urban is awesome! Being a talent I have gotten to know the atmosphere, they are so friendly and welcoming. They are also serious about getting you to where you want to be. They provide training to improve your skills so you can be successful, as long as you do your part and give forth the effort you will succeed!
They are the Vivint door - to - door salesmen of the modeling agency. It's legitimate enough to keep them out of jail, but honestly this place is a business nightmare. I have 3 friends who have worked there, and they all have told me the same thing - "The top 5% book (who would book anywhere bc of their experience), and the rest of the hundreds of signed 'models' provide cash flow with insanely over-priced 'portfolio' shoots, and classes. You will book small jobs unless you are amazing (in which case, you should either live in LA or just do this on your own and make more money), and will likely get paid 1/2 of your payment if you are lucky. The follow through on paying is insanely terrible. I booked one bigger job, got paid for literally half, and was told that the client had paper problems, and after 6 months of hassling and emails just peaced out on them entirely. Sad to see so many people screwed over by their anxious sales tactics.

Thy honestly don't even deserve one star! I made an appointment with a girl name Haley. I showed up and the building was very sketchy.. old nasty door, they didn't have any customer parking. The building needed updating for sure especially for being such a "successful " talent agency. I texted Haley and told her I felt very uncomfortable with the building and that I wasn't interested. She then reaponds and said that it wasn't sketchy and that I was Ridiculous ( how professional of her to say I'm ridiculous) i said I wasn't meaning to offend her but that i just was comfortable with it. (Which at that point she should have just said okay or sorry to hear that) then she made a personal attack and said that I can come up with whatever excuses I wanted but it was an obvious personal issue to self sabotage. unbelievable in my opinion! I will make sure I spread this information.
They suck they didn t hire me as a model because I was doing a fashion show with a college and they didn t call me till a year later. Don t waste your time trying to model for them go to a different agency
Total scam. This place basically tricked/pressured me into signing something without telling me I still had to pay the money even though I never completed the courses. I decided I didn t want too and they still made me pay, sent me to collections for over 1,000$ more than I would have paid AT 18 YEARS OLD. It s ridiculous that they still make you pay even though you didn t use there services. Now my credit is ruined and I m barley an adult. Not only that but the girl was so rude when I tried to talk to them about it and She didn t care at all to even help me try to do the program or find me jobs. I wouldn t recommend.

The staff is SO friendly and helpful. They want you to be prepared and will work with you to get there. They are professional and experienced. There is a lot of opportunity with them if you're willing to put in the time and effort.

I have really loved my experience with Urban! Before I was with Urban I did a ton of freelance modeling work and it is so much easier to have an agency, especially one that works so hard to optimize your talents and your jobs. I've been with Urban for a few months and not only have I gotten more jobs than I did freelancing, I am also getting paid considerably more. I believe that with Urban, like with all experiences, what you put into it is what you will get out of it. I feel that all the bookers have really taken the time to get to know me as a model and actress, identifying my strengths and working with me directly on my weaknesses. I really couldn't ask for a better experience.
My daughter is with Urban and has been loving her experience. They've presented her with opportunities she never had previously and helped build her up as a model.
Been a great experience so far. The training is a bit pricey but I think it will pay off as long as you actually put in the work to get booked. Also the training is continuous so I think it will be worth it. Great place to start your career and make a name for yourself if you choose to stick with it.
I've read the reviews and am shocked by those that claim Urban is a scam and a fraud. Far from it! I joined maybe 14 years ago and didn't do much with it. I worked a couple conventions to make enough money to get my investment plus some back, then decided it wasn't for me. Then I returned in March. They let me take classes again to refresh my memory, and I decided to take it more seriously. The whole staff has been so great to work with. I've booked a lot of work, and have had a great, positive experience across the board. You have to do your part, there's only so much an agency can do. Urban goes above and beyond for you to teach, train, book, and get you paid!

I just came back from a interview and I can tell you that If you are a thicker girl like myself ( size 13) I strongly suggest you go somewhere else. I was treated rudely and very different than the size 2 that I was with because I was to hippy . They are hypocrites and the whole place it s self is sketchy oh and when they say it doesn t cost money they are lying cause she was going to charge me 18,000 dollars for training and after they tell you everything that s wrong with you they will kiss your ass and make you feel better and send you on your way. In conclusion your better off saving and paying for college and having a career that will accept you for you then making you feel like you worthless cause your not a size 2. But on the bright side their house building with a broken wooden door smelt like a tropical paradise
Although I have only been with Urban Talent a short while it is already apparent that they are willing to work as hard for you as you are for them. They pride themselves on having trained and quality talent, this means that when they do send you to castings and auditions it is because they are confident you have the potential to book. I am so excited to see where my career takes me with Urban Talent!
Please do not sign or affiliate yourself with this company ever!! I made the mistake of signing with them because they promised jobs and gigs and never sent any in return after signing with them. So why would someone pay money for classes when job aren't given in return? They are ALL about money and NOT about the integrity of their company. It's very apparent from before you sign they are VERY friendly and have the mentality that they'd help with anything, but once you sign on that line, you re theirs! Once I saw the big picture as to what they were truly about, I dropped them and left. Then, they decided to send me to collections. Which is what they do to all who sign up and see the true URBAN company. This company is a total waste!! STAY AWAY!!! It's too good to be true, they talk a good talk but they don't show it after your signature is on that line. 100% biggest mistake I've ever fallen for! Please don't be like me!

Let s be factual here Owner , your company only followed up when there was no payment or to keep pumping me up BEFORE I signed anything saying how perfect of a model I would be! That ones for you Alexandra, who only contacted me before signing but then once I did it, there was no more contact. Not because there was a job or because there were classes that I could attend. And even if I didn t want to attend the classes, the $1700 would have still needed to be paid which is total BS!! SCAM SCAM SCAM!! After doing further research into modeling agencies, no model should have to pay for anything like this. The agency should have enough faith in the model they are signing to invest IN THEM! This company is all about money and no wonder you ask people to write a review, because your review ratings suck! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!! Ok so when I went today I was waiting long then when i got talked to by the lady. Told her i wanted to be a model right so took only like 3 photos thats it. Was rude, judgemental saying I can't do modeling because of my size like calling me fat. Yet shes was fat as well so she shouldn't have said anything the only reason why I didnt say anything because I know was going to go down real quick. Then you have to pay which was fishy so therefore not returning and i think they are a scam so bye bye bye.

I finished my first workshop with Urban last weekend! I had no idea what to expect and normally would feel uncomfortable and shy with that sorta thing, but after just two days I learned so much about myself, modeling, acting, etc. Tina along with the other employees (Kendall, Alexa, and Camille) do a great job helping you feel comfortable and confident. They have your best interest in mind and will do what they can to help you be successful! After doing the workshop I felt even more excited to start down the modeling/acting path because I knew I would be working with a team that know what they re doing and have all the tools to help me learn and grow.
Do not fall for them. They want to to pay an outrage fee for pictures on theur website and then for classes. I almost signed but was warned my friends who had fallen for it and by a fellow actress who also had friends who are now or were trapped in the contract. They stated they only get u jobs u can get ursrlf and then take their 15%, even on ones normal agencies would lwt u keep when its not alot of money.
I am not even signed with them my daughter is and they have found me work they are absolutely amazing. Not to mention they are genuine caring individuals who give back to the community which is really hard to find these days but I would definitely recommend this agency !

My daughter signed up with this nonsense group because of all the promises they fed her. She quickly found out that talking to one person at this agency didn't guarantee that the owners would back it. She was told that she wouldn't have to worry about paying any money out of pocket for their so called required classes. She was told a portion of her wages from jobs would be deducted. That was the first scam of this operation as they never sent her any REAL paying jobs to begin with. When she told them she didn't want classes from them she just wanted the work, they then told her after the fact I might add, that they would not let her do that. She would have to pay the money for the classes anyway. This is when I knew she had been duped into a scam. I looked into Urban at this point and found as I'm sure you are right now, that this company has a terrible track record and has more bad reviews than good ones and in fact I would go as far as to say that the only good ones they have which you'll always find at that top of the list, are actually and in all reality FAKE, just like the jobs they promise these young girls in the first place. They tried to harass her for months about paying for her classes which she never signed up for or even attended one and finally I got on the phone and told them that if they called her again, not only would they be disappointed once again with no money, but they would be leveled with a hefty lawsuit as I would organize all those that they screwed into one large suit. You know what's funny, she never received another call from them. If you are looking into the field of modeling and you have no experience, find a reputable acting coach and yes there are some out there, and take classes from them. If you are ever approached by a sleeze ball organization like Urban and they require you to pay them, that is your first red flag to take notice of. Now here it comes, Listen up, No REPUTABLE AGENCY IS GOING TO ASK YOU FOR MONEY! Plain and simple. If you have the talent and the look or whatever they are looking for then they will pay you to sign up with them, not the other way around. That is the way reputable agencies do business. Small time operations that can't get you what you want, like Urban don't have the goods in the first place to help you so the only way for them to make money is to screw young kids who don't know any better. They make it sound impressive and drive nice cars like this idiot, but in reality he only wants to dupe you out of your money to support his landrover fetish and call it necessary classes for the big jobs that you NEVER see. As most on here say, Urban is nothing but scam artists. If they had messed with my daughter anymore they would have found out that they had messed with the wrong man's daughter period. Don't give them the time of day nor a penny of your money, they aren't worth your time nor the harrassing calls that you'll get once you've figured them and their game out. There's a REAL reason why their ratings are so bad, that should be enough said right there, but for those of you with stars in your eyes, don't allow yourselves to be taken in by these pick pockets. The Urban Pickpocket Talent Management is not the kind of people you want to do business with. STAY CLEAR!. They think they're good at rebuttals, but know this, I have nothing to gain from lying about this organization nor do I care to mislead you in anyway. If you want to give them a try, ask them if you can sign up with them without paying for classes and see how far you get. INTERESTING HOW THEY THINK MY DAUGHTER IS KATIE IN THEIR RESPONSE! BET THAT CHANGES. She's not! This is proof they don't even know the clients, much less have their interest in mind. At least you proved you can read which doesn't change what I said either! I ve never done modeling before but this is definitely worth the time. They train you really well, it s a lot more intense than I thought it would be but it s because they want you to succeed. Anything that is worth it is hard, this requires time, effort, and diligence. Amazing people there, I feel very welcome and safe.
This place is a rip off, I've been modeling on and off for numerous agency's/people. And I can tell you that this place will rob you blind. They will make fake ads on Craigslist and Facebook with promises of auditioning, and all it is, is a sit down with one of there reps telling you that "you can make it big, you just need to do OUR training first". They will charge you upwards of $1,100+ just sp you can have "exclusive auditions" the places they send you, are the same places that every other agency in Utah will send you.

I have worked independently in the industry for several years and I learned more in their 2 day modeling development class than I have in the last 10 years. Yes, you have to pay to train, I haven't ever taken a job that didn t require training. The most incredible part of Urban s structure is that, their training is for a lifetime. You can drop into any workshop and get the tools you need. It s like a home, they re in it for the long haul... molding and shaping is their expertise.
Hello! Please take the time to read this. I currently am signed as a model with urban talent management. When I signed my contract I also signed a contract with Style inc. Throughout the process of signing these I agreed to pay for an optional portfolio, training and other tools. ITS WAS A 1 TIME PAYMENT THAT WILL HELP ME THROUGHT THE REST OF MY CAREER. Also, one thing I appreciated was that you have the option to break the payment up monthly or pay it in full. They are willing to work it out with you and answer any questions you have.
I recently attended one workshop and I am excited to attened the (optional) monthly workshop extensions. These classes taught me so much and helped my confidence grow. They really pushed me out of my comfort zone but I never felt alone. The staff was very supportive and instructional to make sure and HELP me improve.
Because they only make money when the talent does (commission), they are only as good as us. If you are scouted and signed then you have potential. They recognize that and don t gaurentee any jobs but I know from personal experience that if you are working hard and taking advantage of the tools and communication they offer YOU WILL SUCSSED.
I am so greatful for the opportunity to be trained by Urban Talent Management, Tina is an absolutely amazing teacher, she took the time to explain every subject trully, the manual used was full of good information and easy to follow, I also enjoyed learning from Kendall, he made the class fun and entertaining while still covering the subject !
I am a very visual person so for me I would like to see some more pictures as examples but she made several demonstrations live which made it up for it. I was very grateful for all the help throughout the 2 day course, from the entire staff and classmates. I actually got offered a job the next day and I was able to apply alot of the things I learned in class and it made a huge difference on my performance!!!

Urban, thus far has been there for me every step of the way. Going in, I ve had no idea what I m doing and they have helped to work at a pace just right for me to help me learn the talent and skills that I will need to be successful! They are quick in responding to any questions I have. I have already made plenty of new friends, gained an entirely new confidence in myself and am excited for the opportunity they have given me. The only negative thing I might add is the cost of training. However, it is so necessary and pays off in the end (literally pays for itself).
I've been with Urban for two years and I love them. They're super friendly and straightforward. Yes, I paid upfront to be trained and yes, I needed the training. From there I booked some small gigs (under a hundred to a couple hundred dollars) which eventually got bigger and bigger (a thousand dollars plus). I paid off my dues in the first few months and am currently booking a variety of different gigs (with and without my shirt on), because I honestly like the adventure of not knowing what exactly I'm going to be doing, finding out, then surpassing expectations. That's what the training helps with.
You can look me up on Urban's site and judge (face and body) for yourself. I have a very athletic build which I enjoy maintaining without the incentive of making money. That helps me book athletic gigs. I'm not saying I'm a standard. You don't have to be ripped. There's a lot of good paying commercial work. I'm just saying that if I can book and you're similarly or more handsome and/or athletic than me, you'll definitely book as well.
They do take a while to get you paid. Understand, there's a TON of steps that they go through to get paid themselves. If you're chill like me then just sit back and wait for their fulfillment department, a team dedicated to getting you paid, to do their job.
All in all, pretty awesome! It helps pay the bills (feels pretty good to have a triple digit hourly rate), incentivizes you to get in great shape (you mean I get to write off my gym membership?), exposes you to awesome experiences (I can now say that the Jack Black once fake-punched me in the gut while I was dressed like a giant pistachio), and you get to meet some sweet people (Jeffrey Tambor, Kid Cudi, Lena Dunham, James Franco, Ethan Hawke, James Marsden... you get it)!
Urban has been a great agency to work with! The staff are so welcoming and kind. As a beginner talent, the STYLE workshops definitely gave me the training I needed as far as what to expect when at auditions and print shoots. I'm excited to keep progressing and working with Urban!
Urban Talent Management is a scam. They try and trick new talent into paying thousands for a photo shoot with their photographer and want to charge an insane amount of money to put the photos on their website. A real, reputable agency will never charge to represent you, they only make money when you do. Plus there are real, experienced and talented photographers who work in the industry who typically charge between $150-250 for incredible headshots. Urban and their photographer are total frauds.
