Uptown Cycles Review

I stopped in a few days after moving from New York, and Chris and company have been incredibly helpful and attentive. I've definitely going to be a regular.

Great shop, I've had several bikes worked on there and they finish in a timely manner and do a fantastic job. The mechanic I encountered on several occasions (Mitch) is a true bike enthusiast and works on bikes as if they were his own. Highly recommend.

I visited this shop in search of some cold weather riding apparel. The staff/owner were very informative and helpful. I found some excellent gear (Castelli) at a great price and they honored a military discount. Though more than a 100 miles away, I will go see these guys again to be sure. Great job!!

Always my first stop if I ever need to grab bike stuff. The atmosphere is great and it is always just fun to hang around and talk to people, share ride suggestions and experiences. And you may never know who you might meet. Oh yeah! Try the computrainer classes! You won't regret it.

I'd like to give a big shout out to Shauna at Uptown Cycles. I haven't even purchaced a bike yet, just shopping for one, but Shauna was enthusiastic, informative, and patient. In fact, everyone I interacted with was enthusiastically helpful, even at the end of a long busy day.
This shop was a pleasure to work with, and Shauna is a great representative.

Very clean store however I brought my brand new bicycle for a tune up and get wheels balanced and brakes right. Before I brought it in there was a ticking/clicking noise coming from the rear and was still making the noise when I picked up the bicycle (Saturday) I rode for about 15-20 mins saturday and Sunday, I then called in on Tuesday and was advised this was an easy youtube fix by a man whose name begins with an "A" I believe Andre.

Great group of friendly people who know cycling and take the time to help you get the right stuff from bikes to sock to finding rides to training in the store.

Great bike shop. I rented a Salsa Woodsmoke from them. Professional and knowledgeable staff. I will drive out of my way to use them for my biking needs.

Just completed my first Retul bike fitting with Chris. Great overall experience and well worth the investment. Chris is very knowledgeable and the session itself was highly educational for me. We made a number of just-in-time adjustments to cleats, insoles, saddle, and stem. Bike feels dialed in. I encourage any marginally serious rider to check out Retul at Uptown Cycles!

I had a simple part to be ordered from one of their suppliers. They didn't sound like they wanted to help me with it at all. I called back a couple of time checking on it. The first person was quite rude on the phone. When I called back to check on the stasis of the part. The sales person said the other guy was the one I needed to talk to. Asked for a call back. Never heard from him. I did this a couple of times.

I finally called another shop in Cary to order the part and I had it within 2 weeks.

The customer service at Uptown Cycles is wonderful. Mark and Tim are very knowledgeable and went out of their way to make my husband and I feel like valued customers in their store, even though we had never shopped there before.

We had bicycles that we had purchased elsewhere professionally fitted at Uptown Cycles, and it made all the difference in the enjoyment of our riding. In addition, the staff have called us personally to follow up on the service provided and interest we have shown in specific products.

The store is located in a quaint neighborhood with several eating establishments that can be enjoyed while your bike is being serviced. There is a large parking lot and riding opportunities in the area to test your bike for purchase consideration or after a tune up.

The shop is small, but the heart and knowledge of the people who run it is large when it comes to cycling and helping others to build enthusiasm for the sport. Whether a beginner or a experienced cyclist, they show they want to earn and keep your business. They carry everything you need, and if they don't have it in stock, they will get it for you.

Bought a Salsa Timberjack from Uptown Cycles. Ben was very helpful. He actually grabbed a bike, and took me on a short ride. He spent time with me going over the bike I bought. Not sure what else you could ask for.

What a great store ! I went to Uptown to buy nothing other than a pump and a multi tool. They treated me as though I was buying the most expensive bike in the store. Both sales people spent time with me and filled me in completely about what is going on in the bike world these days. They were excellent. Could not be more impressed!

Absolute professionals. Extremely knowledgeable. I got a flat on a long ride and got a ride to their shop. It was one hour to close and they squeezed me in no problem.

We are so lucky to have this bike shop in our back yard. Chris and his team are ambassadors to the cycling community. I did a bike fit and know it will be a game changer!

My brother and I went shopping for bikes. We rode a lot as kids on cheap bikes but wanted to upgrade to a hybrid bike. Needless to say we didn't know much. Ben and Ashley were very helpful and answered all of our questions. They were very patient, kind, and understanding. They worked very hard to get a bike from the warehouse to their store and built in one day. When there was a minor issue with the bike, Chris and Tim fixed the issue with no questions asked (except my name and contact info of course). Chris also helped me put together the bike rack I purchased from them. I am going to be a repeat customer.

Very good shop. It took a few tries to find a shop that was knowledgeable and could repair my freehub properly and this was the one. My next bike will be purchased here where they actually know how to fix them

I love this place. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They help me build my first bike and although there is a bike shop closer to me I prefer fighting 85 and 77 for these guys any day.

The mechanic is great and knows his stuff. Folks are friendly and always pleasant. It's all I want in a bike shop.

I rented a road bike from Uptown Cycles for my trek onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. Chris took plenty of time to help me dial in all of my measurements and make sure that I was good to go for several days of mountain riding. Very cool shop and great staff. Highly recommended.

Best Bike Shop in the area, period. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my bike fit, Retuil and Chris are perfect! The computrainer classes there are always fun and kick my booty and the events and group rides they have range from helping newbies to elite racers. They even have a women's only group ride on Mondays that I LOVE! Get ready to feel like family at your LBS.

They provide great service and have awesome prices for their accessories. I highly recommend this bike shop.

I brought these guys my new MTB for assembly and immediately was sold on this shop. Out of the gate Jason was working with me on pricing for my racks, even helping me out on MSRP to get within my budget. These are professional dudes who clearly know the sport and will help you make solid decisions. When I got a little out of hand on the new whip and took a heavy crash, they not only worked with me to fix my existing wheel set but gave me options on other sets that would fit my riding style. No pressure sales and high cycling IQ = killer bike shop. As an online deal hunter I still find its worth every penny to deal with local businesses you can trust and will go out of their way when you're in a pinch. Try the computrainer classes too!

After going to a few duds I am happy to find Tim and the guys at Uptown Cycles. Although I didn't buy my mountain bike from them they stood behind their manufacturers warranty and got my bike fixed and tuned properly where the original shop failed. I couldn't be happier with their knowledge and customer service and will be coming back for future needs.

This place rocks! I had an annoying hard to find creak in my bike. Chris quickly jumped in to decipher the problem, parts ordered. Jeff finished the bike up and found that one last pesky creak. It's perfect and as quiet as a church mouse (presumedly quieter than a regular mouse??). Very very knowledgable and professional staff.
