I really want to like Upstream but after 2 visits, it's just not for me. I'll first start off by saying the location is awesome and I can't say enough positive things about the service I received from the staff on both visits - top notch to say the least.

The reason I don't like Upstream are the main reason you would go to Upstream, the food and beer. On my first visit I had a steak that was the dinner special, bland describes it pretty well. It was the special so I didn't want it to be my only representation of my food experience so on my next visit, a few months later, I figured I should try something from the normal menu. I read good reviews about the burgers so I ordered the blackened burger with pepper jack cheese and guac. I think they must have forgotten to add the seasoning to the burger because I've had way more seasoned burgers from McDonald's. As an unseasoned burger, it was good. The fries were edible but were limp and lacked much flavor.

I'm a huge craft brew fan and I love tasting the local options as I travel across the country and there are some amazing breweries in the area. Just not this one. Don't get me wrong, the beers are good but not great-with the exception of a couple of the seasonals. My palate is mine, so your mileage may very, but nothing grabbed my attention as unique or something that I would want to order again.

I'll wrap things up with this; Upstream is good and you probably won't hate it but there are sooo many other amazing places in the neighborhood with absolutely killer beer and WAY BETTER food. Explore your options before settling.

Was so excited to try this place when we visited Omaha this past weekend. We arrived and were offered inside or outside dining. We asked for outside. Then were told it would be a wait unless we wanted inside. Not sure why we were given the option and the outside patio only had 1 table when we walked in. We were seated upstairs and our waitresses name was Rachel. She was very friendly, but not very attentive. We felt neglected the majority of the time. We ordered the Omaha filet and it was good, but flavorless.

Editing to add after "response from the owner"- Using health and safety guidelines as an excuse to neglect customers is just that, an excuse. There should never be an excuse for poor customer service. We had over a $200 tab. Would of been more professional to just apologize, instead of using what's going on in our country. Maybe, put a sign on your door so customers are aware of staff limiting contact. Definitely didn't feel good waiting 30 mins, just to finally wave our waitress down for our tab.

Very mediocre beers and overpriced food. Service ranges from acceptable to disastrous. Nice building, to be sure, and a good spot to hang outside when the weather is nice.....but order a bourbon. So many better breweries around the area.

No bad seat in the house! I have gotten to eat upstairs, downstairs, and outside and have enjoyed my experience every time! The food is excellent with a lot of variety. Of course the best part is the beer. The selection changes regularly so it s a different experience every time!

Wow! The last time I went to Upstream Brewery Company in the Old Market , here in Omaha , Nebraska was in October of last year and my experience was outstanding . I ordered there prime rib and I wasn't disappointed at all . I do plan to return to this jewel in the Old Market to enjoy other fine entrees offered at this restaurant . Honorably mention Mr.Cottrell . Thanks .

The pot roast was excellent and the beer was even better. My buddy and I got pints and four 4oz taste testers. The house stout was thick and lovely. The IPA's hoppy and bitter in all the right proportions. Definitely come here if you love craft beers! C'est une experience!

This is the second time we've been here. Food was good both times. We had their rib eye special with bacon kale and truffle fries and the kids shared the mac and cheese and blonde pizza. Their brewed beers consist mainly of IPA's and lagers. No dark brews, at this time that i saw, which is what I prefer. But my Moscow mule was mixed well and his red ale was pretty good.

Food (burger, pizza, & smoked Gouda beer soup to die for) was excellent and so was the beer. Our server, Rich, was excellent, too! Even had our 2 games on! Couldn't have been better unless they had power to have the Carolina Panthers beat the Bucs!

My friend and I went to Upstream because we heard it was the best restaurant in town. The service was absolutely horrendous. Other parties got their orders taken before ours. Getting our drinks took forever to come. I ordered a sample of a beer. That sample and my friend s beer arrived at the same time. However, my actual pint of beer didn t come until I was done with my meal. On top of that, my waitress delivered the wrong beer. I told her that was not my beer because I ordered a stout and she countered with, Yes, it is. (She brought me a light beer). The waitress never checked up on us and claimed the bar was busy and that s why my drink took forever; yet, others drink orders came before ours. The manger must ve heard my friend and I were having issues with our waitress because she delivered my stout herself later. I m not sure if the terrible service turned the whole dining experience sour, but in the end, the food wasn t even that good.

We had family visiting from out of state and decided to check out Upstream Brewing Company. We couldn't be happier with our dinner choice!

Our waiter was wonderful and we really enjoyed being able to sit outside. Our food was awesome, as well as the price that went along with it!

My husband and I will be back for a date night in the future!

We had our rehearsal dinner here and Chip took GREAT care of us. The food was delicious, the staff the day of (headed by Tim, I think??) was fantastic, and the venue was great. We were hoping that the price would be a tad lower, but we didn't have to worry about a darn thing- well worth it. Tim let us know where the bride and groom typically sit (THANK YOU) and kept us well-apprised of the state of our drink tab. He also let us know when salads were about to be served, giving us the chance to request a few more minutes (we did not) or to get people seated and say a blessing over our meals, and remained very professional. My husband and I were very satisfied and would recommend Upstream for a rehearsal (or dinner but that's another story!). We got more compliments from guests on our rehearsal dinner venue and staff than our reception venue and staff. One of my bridemaids enjoyed it so much that she is having her rehearsal dinner here as well. A big thank you to everyone involved!

Went with a group.

The Gouda cheese beer soup was fantastic. Their bread was good, but defintely add butter as it really shines when you do.
I ordered their special which was a seafood pasta in a brandy cream sauce. It was a bit bland. I expected more seafood flavor, but if you don't like any fishiness this might be for you. The amount of seafood for the price of $12.99 was good. It came with a big piece of their bread as well.

This meal I was limited in what I actually tasted. Everyone in my group seemed happy enough with their meals.
This teeters between a 4-5 star for the food, but I gave them 5 because their service hit it out of the park. They worked as a team and were thoughtful with the food we ended up packaging up. As to the food as it's only a limited amount that I tasted, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since I have heard good things about them. The menu is quite large so that's a lot more to explore.

Parking is... Old market parking.

Really good Omaha steak which was one of their daily specials. Wait staff friendly and efficient. Busy night even though it was a Monday! Was recommended by a family friend and I easily recommend for anyone else looking for a nice meal.

All around awesome! Every time I've eaten here it has been 5 stars! The service is fast, servers are courteous, food is awesome! Today I had the salmon with brussel sprouts and italian sausage squash. It was the bomb!

Great food, perfect cocktails, wonderful service. One star taken away for how loud it is there. They need to modify the environment/structure somehow to absorb more of the sound. We each had difficulty hearing one another in a *booth*. I can't imagine how bad it would have been at a regular table. Still the food and drinks were excellent, and our server was wonderful.

The atmosphere was great and a great night for patio dining! Had high expectations from there and was sadly disappointed. I've had better pot roast at Cracker Barrel and the vegetables may have well have come from a freezer bag. My husband's filet (ordered medium rare) came out practically well done. You should never have to put steak sauce on an Omaha filet, but he did!

Went to this place in a Monday and let me just say the kitchen was SOLID. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly I had the lamb kabobs. My server however Patricia L is the only reason why I gave 2 stars. I would have given 5 stars per usual. We were asked if we were there for happy hour or dinner by her btw before even being seated. I was very confused because does that really matter? So we said dinner and she happily took us to her section bypassing the host? Right out of the gate she started fishing for tips and we hadn't even ordered. We knew about her family life, how tired she was, how slow they are on Monday blah blah blah blah. Then after getting our drink order, fishing for tips again, literally yawning at the table and her excuse was my nephew yawned therefore she needed to as well. Um ok? Then after bringing bringing use our first glass of wine she told us "btw the bottles are half price right now" (little did she know she would have made more money had she told us that from the get go). Then she took our order. She basically told me how to order my lamb which should have been suggested medium rare but she doesn't like it that way. She had no idea how big the wings were. When my mother ordered the salad she didn't even ask what kind of dressing she wanted just assumed ranch I guess. It was a side salad doesn't she get a choice? Now onto my nephew.... When we came in she asked do you want a children's menu, we said no he eats off the adult menu. We ordered a cheese burger and he got a children's cheese burger, again assuming she knew what he wanted. He left hungry. When she came to check on us she yelled from another section "how is everything" FROM ANOTHER SECTION!!!! She handed my mom the to-go container with the check in the same pile, very akward and took forever to return to collect payment wine glasses were empty table bussed. We saw more of the other servers than her she was too busy standing in the kitchen line talking to pay attention to us. She had 1 table....our table... She made sure to let us know that over and over again.
I have been going to this establishment for years and have never been so disappointed with the service. I know it's Monday but seriously that shouldn't matter with the service you receive the prices don't change.
As of right now I would be completely embarrassed taking anyone there for fear that I would get her as my server again. Again the kitchen did an outstanding job as always they should be very proud of the food they serve I can't say enough about that. But step up your server game.

Good selection of food and cocktails, but the real draw is the wide selection of Upstream beers. Variety of ales, stouts and wheats for any connoisseur, with the accessibility to make even the most casual beer drinker feel at home.

Went here as recommended by the hotel staff, and generally I like brewery restaurants, so I considered it a perfect place to try. I liked the old downtown surroundings. We were seated right away, but first the service was kind of slow and it didn't appear to be too overwhelmingly busy. Second only one hidden TV was fulfilling to the Iowa/Nebraska experience by putting on the Cubs game as the more visible ones put on the Mets/Braves game - WHAT?!? Other TV's had ESPN news loops on. I, a former vegetarian, ordered my formulaic veggie burger due to the small menu having entrees that were too big. The local beer was just standard, and nowhere near great enough to make the IA/NE beer experience memorable. I liked the grainy texture of the veggie burger patty, but that was the closest part of the dinner to make a memorable experience of an IA/NE dinner but it was nothing close at all. Well, I did like the old building ambience and it still was a decently fun travel outing.

Always a treat to eat here. Aad that I have to go all the way downtown now, so it just happens less. The drink menu is ever changing, so I really, really, really miss the pixie stick martini. That was the best martini I had ever had. Tonight's substitute was the pear martini, it was delicious, but not rimmed in sugar. Hubby wasn't in the mood for alcohol so he actually tried their brewed rootbeer and said it was very good. I stare at the menu every time trying to decide what to eat today, hubby always chooses the pork schnitzel because it can't be outdone. Today I chose the mac and cheese and opted to get the blackend chicken on top. I wish I could make mac and cheese this yummy at home. I've never had bad food, or bad service at Upstream. Will keep coming back.
