My husband and I went here for his birthday dinner and we had a great time! The food was amazing and service was pretty good! He really liked the beer. They even offer a free birthday dessert. We will definitely be returning!

Bicyclist approved: tasty food, tasty beer, social environment. My server, Jade, helped me order pretzel bites with cheese and hummus as an appetizer, a falafel with lime chicken rice soup and a burger as a main dish, and a nice IPA to top it off. Fresh and yummy carb load dinner. Must-see in the downtown Omaha area.
What a great location. The decor is exactly what I pictured for a quaint little brewery. The beer is really good. I ordered the pork schnitzel. It was good but not great. Huge portions. I'd come back but probably only for the beer.
Ok food and beer. Super stressy management and staff, refused to seat until full reserved party arrived then rushing us out. And this is when the place was half empty no less.
The only pool/billiards downtown that I know of, and their beer is usually really good. Their rooftop deck is awesome when it's open. Great vibe throughout the whole gigantic place.
I was in town for the Home Instead Senior Care convention and checked out this place with my boss.
The server was really good: knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and quick.
One of the specials that night was a 16 oz Ribeye that they prepare with a bunch of fancy stuff. I didn't quite catch it all. I asked if I could just have the ribeye cooked on the grill with none of those special sauces, seasonings and sides and they were happy to oblige.
They brought out the steak pretty quickly and it was cooked a perfect medium rare, just like I asked. I think it was $33, which is pricier than an Outback, but a lot cheaper than a high end steakhouse, which is just fine by me.
Anyway, good experience. Good atmosphere. Good food. Good service. That's 5-stars in my book.
Couple visits in the last month and many more over the years. Once again upstairs enjoying Omaha people and a great long time 23 years plus brewery. Will is doing a great job making everyone feel great.""Food is good.""
Great, cheap lunch menu. Nice service. I got the basic cheesburger medium rare. It was prepared perfectly. My only complaint is that the bun it comes on is dense. Great place. Gg.
Upstream is hit an miss. I've been here about a dozen times and a lot for after work happy hours. The pizza is good on special and the hummus is nice but other than that, it's just ok. It's Old Market, so everything is pricey. The bathrooms are clean and convenient during the farmers market and the billiards are nice for small work celebrations. All and all, I like it for what it is and they try to have a nice experience (the 2nd floor patio is great at happy hour). I'm just not super impressed by the food... The pretzel bites have to be from a freezer, they just aren't fresh. There are better options for food nearby. Go Wilson and Washburn for excellent, fresh made to order food. It's only a few blocks away. The menu is limited, but they do it well and for a better price!
I can only comment on the appetizers and the decor, as we moved elsewhere for dinner. However, the appetizers (in particular the asiago and cheese dip) were very, very good. The beer selection was also good, as was the root beer. They were pretty accommodating in letting us sit on their rooftop; the dining environment outside was great. Overall, at a minimum this is a great place to grab appetizers and beer. I'll need to return to try out their main courses soon.
We ABSOLUTELY LIVED THIS PLACE. Great creative menu, lots of options, the beers were astounding. Blackened Chicken pasta was stupendous. Definately have to check this place out if you are in Omaha!
Ate there last night was absolutely delicious! Great kids menu, awesome wait staff, they were busy, but I reserved our table ahead through open table and got right in. Didn't wait long at all for our food, our server answered all of our questions with patience, even though he had a lot going on, thanks Dylan!!!
Service was great if not a little slow (but they were busy so I I understand). Food was amazing and so were the beers. They even gave me a free slice of cheesecake for my bday.
Went to the Old Market location a few years ago. Was not impressed at all! The food is over priced for what you get. Went with a group of family, service was slow and rude, food had to be sent back for a few of us. I truly hope that they have solved these issues. I won't be going back to find out either way.
This place is amazing! The food is top notch. Too bad it's filled with stuffy middle aged white men in suit jackets glaring at me. So I tend to avoid this place.
Food was great. Had the crab and shrimp Mac and cheese and it could not have been better. Followed it with bourbon Carmel bread pudding that was delicious. The craft beers are exceptional with a wide variety to select from. Recommend a visit if you're in the area.
Solid beer selection, had a 4 flight sampler plus a 16oz draft and they were all good not great. The Artichoke and Asiago Dip was really good (especially the garlic beer bread).
We came into town to go to the zoo and we decided to go to dinner. Well our servers J & Aaron were AMAZING!!!!! You two made our evening great. To bad we dont live here or we would come sit in your section every weekend. Thanks guys!!!!
This pub is jumping! Terrific service with extra effort to help us when we arrived way before our party had been booked. Terrific food - nice portions, great flavor, right temperature. Bar service was excellent. Nice craft beer options. We'll - made cocktail. Very competitive prices. Great evening all the way around.
Great neighborhood but wasn't overall impressed with the food. Beer was good but would try other places in the area if we come back. Would give it a 3.5 if I could.
Need a simple sit down that has got some class, good beer, and a banging bread pudding? Upstream is the place for you. It's slight commercial feel gives way to good service and quality selection of in-house brews. Also, if you need to entertain some out-of-towners, Upstream is perfect.
Beer is ehhh. It's not bad but nothing I had put it above what I've had at other places. Girlfriend liked the one sour they had. IPA tasted like every other IPA I've had at other places. Didn't try the food so don't let this review dissuade you or persuade you in regards to that.
Multiple craft beers, wide range of food types. Really, really good food. Try the stroganoff. Deee-lish! We try to eat here everytime we come to Omaha.
My wife and I go to Upstream on a regular basis and have normally had a very good experience. We went there tonight during happy hour and when we got our bill it was for regular price. When I brought this to the attention of our waitress she seemed annoyed but checked on it. She came back and had my drinks corrected but not my wife's. I asked her about the happy hour price for my wife's drinks she was very frustrated but checked on and came back with the correct bill but in all this took nearly 30 minutes!! Very poor experience! Instead of owning up to the problem she blamed it on the bartender and the manager?? We will still go to Upstream because it is normally a great experience but tonight was terrible! I just wonder how many people she has done this to that have not noticed this?? Normally my rating would be a 5 but not tonight since my bill was $25.00 more than what it should have been.
GREAT variety of food and drinks. Known for the beer brewery. GREAT for the individual beer lover AND for the family AND a GREAT place to celebrate any occasion. Welcome to UPSTREAM!
Atmosphere is cozy, I shared a 12oz steak with my wife. They served omaha steaks. Great steak, loaded mashed potatoes and microbrew beer. A very nice restaurant.
We used the South Pool lounge for our wedding rehearsal dinner. Chip was easy to work with and the food was amazing! The space was cozy and actually not too loud. We were happy with the service and the selection of food we got.
Relaxed vibe, friendly staff, great burgers, good beer. Mac and cheese was delicious too! Good prices and fun t-shirts/merch. Ask about the cards on the ceiling! And support local business. :)
They have a very boring lunch menu - basically the most common things you would find at any breweries. The only thing that caught my eye was their raspberry glazed chicken with rice pilaf and veggies. I can't say it was awesome - the glaze was great but the chicken was just ok. The wild rice is really flavorful, but the side veggies was apparently steamed/boiled without much attention. The outdoor sitting area was very decent, and the service was good.
Very nice and cozy brewery with many good self brewed beers. The beers vary from 3,8% to 6,8%. Depending on your taste you will find your beer, also with the help of samplers. I can recommend the burgers witch are really delicious. The brewery itself is big so there is plenty of room for everybody. Highly recommended!
Staff is too busy to take your order. Manager (TJ) doesn't seem interested in some objective feedback about staffing. Bartenders barely acknowledge that you exist. Food and beer is decent, but with the service the way it is here, you're better off going somewhere where the staff takes their time with you.
Beer has gone downhill over the last handful of years. Used to have a bigger, more varied selection of their own beers. The food is still VERY good though!
All of our steaks were overcooked and the service was horrible. This was a dinning experience that I do not want to repeat. There have to be better dinning options in Omaha.
Upstream Brewing is in Downtown Omaha, a beautiful historic district. I planned the visit poorly and we were a bit rushed to get to the airport. I informed the server of this when we sat down (completely my fault) and she was so helpful! We had a group of 7 on a fairly busy dinner (Fat Tuesday complete with specials and live music) and the staff managed to get us in and out in under an hour. And the experience didn't miss a beat! We shared an artichoke dip for an appetizer and I had the grilled atlantic salmon. Both were delicious. I tried a bite of my sister's reuben and my boyfriend falafel sandwich and that was all tasty too! We also had flights of beer and would have taken a bottle with if I wasn't about to get on a plane. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Omaha!
When you think of microbreweries & Omaha, Upstream is most likely the 1st place that come to your mind! Upstream has delivered top-notch microbrew beer for over 20 years now & it just keeps getting better with age. An Omaha & Old Market staple & bucket list stop, if you're a visitor. The food is great, too, keeping up with today's food trends.
Good variety of self brews. Got the pork schnitzel meat was tender and had good flavor and crunch. The side of veggies were under cooked. I would come back but look into subbing out the upstream veggies. Awesome plus kids meals include a dessert.
Told it would be 25 minute wait, went up at 35 minutes and was told they would seat us in 2 minutes, went up at 45 minutes and told them we were leaving, we will never be going there again!!! GENTRY forgot about us twice!!! It was my birthday and I list my brother this week. Usually am patient but not with her tonight! Bar tenders were good. Soo very disappointed !!! They had numerous tables open and forgot about us twice!!!
Love this place they brew their own beer there.my favorite is the scotch ale but they have a lot to choose from they also make their own root beer that is extra good. The Ribeyes are delicious with a light garnishment of siracha mayo.and their bread pudding is incredible.its a bit pricey so more of a big night out kinda place
We had the grilled salmon, jambalaya and pork schnitzel and all dishes were excellent. The salmon was the best I've ever had! The 20 Years Heavy beer was awesome and so was the Dundee Scotch Ale and Firehouse Red. We will definitely be back!
