Nice atmosphere at fair prices for Basler conditions

Very nice place for casual meetups. Very international crowd. Free internet and occasional events which makes the place even more interesting.

Very good cafe and also a own coke. We visited a lot of students and generally have a very mixed crowd.

This is laissez-faire. Order what you need, do what you want. Whether eating, drinking, working, playing; great, rest, sit, lie, here everything seems possible. Used to be a CH bank! Now it's a cool gathering place for everyone. It has fire places, comfortable seats, tables. Can all be moved around to study, chat, eat. Fun, historic, central gathering place.

We went there for a drink on a Wednesday afternoon.
Uncomplicated atmosphere, friendly staff. Prices rather at the upper limit.
Unfortunately, it gets noisy very quickly in this large hall when there are many people there.

Brunch on the new terrace is simply great. Brunch is served in a cake stand and the price-performance ratio is perfect for me. Also very suitable for vegans. I can only recommend. Otherwise, the middle is always great for a short break. Be it for coffee or tea.

One of the best cafes in Basel. I had a lot of nice moments there. It is the heart of Basel, you could almost say that it is a landmark of Basel.

Outside, you sit in front of the tram tracks ... Inside there are 3 dads, 2 of them in the shop window and a big, too big hall ... atmosphere zero ...

The place is, as the word indicates, located in the middle of the city. Large windows and a large, centrally located entrance contribute well to creating an open and welcoming atmosphere. There is a large open space on the ground floor with chairs and tables. There is open wlan. On the upper floors there are other spaces where people can work individually and with others. Some rooms seem in need of a design upgrade to make working environments even more attractive for people.

I just wanted to take a short coffee & croissant break and answer 3-4 emails. The terrace was only 50% occupied and I was sent away on the grounds that no notebooks are allowed on the terrace. I didn't find this very customer-friendly now.

Atypical restaurant in the center of the hall and full of toys and children can play freely under the supervision of their parents seated at the tables surrounding the square. I just had a coffee so I have no opinion on the food.

do not accept cards for less than 20 eur payments. eur to franks exchange rate is 1 to 1 in stead of 1.2 to 1. espresso is horrible. and they returned 1 frank less change.
