Cannot say enough wonderful things- my visit was a trip highlight! I I didn t realize how much there is to see- I spent most of the day there and hardly scratched the surface. There are many exhibits -and it is easy to get engrossed in some at the expense of missing others. I would recommend going twice so that you can take your time and really enjoy the history.

The place to go to understand the royal mindset. Fascinating displays, but the tour guides (all military with 20+ years service) with their explanation of the historic events make this place worth the "trip across the pond".
Wear comfortable shoes for handle cobblestone walks & climbing stairs. Dress for walking outdoors.

Yeoman Warder Lawrence was an AMAZING tour guide. One of the best tours I've ever been on, so full of information, story telling finesse and witty humour! Without a tour, a lot of the history would be lost on you so i strongly recommend it.

The armoury and crown jewels didn't take that long. Would have loved more information about the chapel, not that much signage. Exhibits were modern and kid friendly.

Extremely expensive for a ticket and a tourist attraction but it was worth the visit. You get a true understanding of the full history of London and how they fortified the city over hundreds of years. I also would highly recommend waiting for the free tour from one of the queens guards once you get right past the entrance !

Used a network rail 2for1 voucher which makes this attraction much better value. Plenty to see with information everywhere. Arrived reasonably early so there was little to no waiting around or pushing for space when reading and viewing the crown jewels. Well worth the trip with the voucher.

Really boringly organised considering this site has such a fascinating past. So much interesting history so boringly presented. Better to stay home and read. Having read it would be nice to be able to visit in a similarly interesting way.
I am prompted to review my visit after reading a Daily Mail article where others found it similarly dull.
Not sure why there are queues. It's never that interesting so people gather in hotspots of desperation.

Great experience and good history, however too busy and they keep adding crowd. Queues where ridiculous long, even 30 minutes for ladies washroom. Sad, because it takes out the experience.

Fantastic place

Fantastic place
.. highly recommend a visit!!! This is not government funded so all the money from visitors all go on the upkeep of this wonderful historic building

Plan to spend at least 4 hours here to get a basic tour. Queen Elizabeth I, prison cell was noteworthy, as was the crown jewels. This place does carry a reputation for supernatural events that happen with frequency. The atmosphere is very gloomy (consider it was a prison), and the vibe is mostly quite dark. However, this is a huge part of history and well worth enduring the dark side for a tour.

Awesome history lesson for the kids, even if they were most impressed with the fact it once featured in GoJetters! Very interesting displays and helpful staff on hand when more info was required.

I always discover something new on every visit! Would recommend getting here early morning to watch the opening ceremony / guards and to then get in front of the queues for the Crown Jewels :) at peak times, the queues can be super long for the Crown Jewels, though it is worth the wait to see it all!

Yeoman Warders ( Beefeaters ) are excellent too! Hop on one of the tours at the start of your visit; they re so animated and set the scene for your experience. HM Tower of London really is a great trip and one of the most iconic of the London skyline.. 5/5!!

Bomb sauce. Loved it. Totally cool to see the history of London's kings and military base. You need at least 2 hours to walk through everything. During the winter they even have a little ice skating rink just outside. Close to the Underground, coffee shops, it's very easy to get to. There's a discount for students, seniors, and kids.

I have visited this place during a summer and was slightly dissapointed. I mean, there is definitely better castles to visit on this planet, especially when we compare prices. It is not very hige and a lot of stuff has to be paid separately. To me it is also shame to see modern shops around this historical site which does not fit there at all. I took decent pic of Tower Bridge from the castle tho

This is a very large castle with lots to see. If you want to see the crown jewels, get there early. Line is long in the afternoon. Great tower with kings armor exhibition. Beefeater museum on site. Beautiful views of the Thames and tower bridge. Convenient underground nearby. Lots of fish and chips stands.

This is one of my favourite places in London, from the tickets sellers to the Beefeaters and all in between. You need to do a tour with a guide as they are so knowledgeable and entertaining. You also need to spend a minimum of 90 minutes there as there is a lot to see, so make sure you take at least the morning or the afternoon to visit. There will be crowds any day you go so be patient, especially seeing the Crown Jewels as there can be a wait, but it s expected.

A beautiful and also scary piece of history. It's a must see, but perhaps only from the outside for the introvert. A very busy place and remember to buy tickets in advance to avoid queuing... Nice shop outside with books, mugs, clothing, jewellery + bits and bobs... definitely worth to visit!

An awe-inspiring journey back to the past through the lanes & dungeons of history. The crowning glory of this priceless experience is the witnessing of the "Crown Jewels". As you walk across the precincts of the Tower, you feel thrilled that to walk along the same places down which heroes & warriors had walked centuries ago. The cafe inside the campus provides a variety of delicacies, ranging from salads to fish & chips to desserts. Overall, a memorable experience.

The guided tour was a super awesome way to learn about the castle. The crown jewel line was really long so we went in the weapons museum and when we came out it was near closing and there was no line for the jewels. It would not have been worth it to stand in line but they were cool

I attended the Tower of London on the 02/10/18 to witness the exchange of the keys. This is only completed in the late evening and has happened every day without fail for hundreds of years.
The Tower of London is an amazing venue to visit with so much history.
Inside the walls is of course the Tower of London but also the chapel, the queens house, traitors gate and much much more.
In my opinion one of the top historic British places to visit. Amazing.

This is a wonderful Historical Palace full of riches & Intrigue, with Towers & tombs, amazing details & stories. The very home of the incredible Crown jewels & so.much royal Finery, Armour, weapons & Historical Treasures & memorabilia from our bygone era...& the Fabulous Tower Bridge. There is so much to see & discover. We visited during the medieval Week shows & the kids loved all the activities & performances recreating an old lost London of so long ago. A gem from our regal past & present.

Outside view only for free plus a history book will get you some great pics. Many excellent photo spots around. Saw torchlight commemoration of WW1 free. Choose the spot on the path that gets you the Tower and Tower Bridge together. Looks beautiful night and day. Pay attention to the traffic crossings so you stay alive >look left, <look right painted on floor to help . Live transport artery of a major city so take care and use underpass. Not a museum outdoors, you pay to go in for that to see the Crown Jewels etc.

It's a very good place.

It's a very good place.
Lot of canons are kept which is fascinating for kids.
Some games are also kept to cheer them up.
Museum sounds good if the q is small

I had a great day out with my Aunt & her partner. A lot of interesting history is within those walls. It was something that I wanted to do before I left the UK to return home, & I'm glad that I did. I wouldn't mind going back again, but that may take awhile.

This waa a Brilliant trip - we went ourselves and wandered around with a Helpful Audio tour - Pity we couldnt see everything - I most wanted to see the Crown Jewel's but we would probably needed to wait at least 1- 2hours just to get to the door of the building - the writings of the Prisoner on the walls were "sad" - Remember one statement that I think read "I am here in this one meagre room - and I do 'everything' in it - the mind Bogles
Wehadcome off a hop on hop off bus - had a light lunch then went to the Tower
We should have given Much more time
But what we saw was good
I don't know how I feek about the suoer imposing of modern people - 'scouts and Military men' onto old pictures from 1914 - some meant that the original faces were taken out - lost - didn't like this!

The Tower is absolutely legendary - literally, in many ways. Its role in history has been central to London, to England, to Britain, and, in many ways to the world.

The exhibits and displays have been upgraded massively since my first visit in 1983. Huge improvements, especially in the displays of the Crown Jewels.

You should plan on an entire day here. There's just too much to see, a shorter visit just won't do.

Yes, the admission price is a bit steep ... but i think it was worth every bit of it. Bring extra for the souvenir shops.

Plenty of information and assistance from the Yeomen Warders and other personnel. And say hello to the ravens!

It's a great place to visit with the family. But if it's summer you need to take your water, they sell there but they are not cold. Beautiful building, wonderful experience getting to know more about England and their history. I recurved it.

Must see! Expensive entry but SO WORTH IT! Old prison with Beefeater guided tours. Crown jewels on display Henry VIII's armor, among other Royals' armor, in another building (Henry was a portly man).
