Even with some areas closed due to the covid restrictions, we had a fantastic day out at the Tower. Thoroughly enjoyed it - so much interest there. Felt comfortable with covid restrictions throughout - but we visited early in the morning and on what seemed like an unusually quiet day so difficult to know what it is like more generally.

Wow, just Wow! The tower of London is amazing. We only allowed about an hour and a half at the end of the day. We could have easily spent 3-4 hours. The history, views and presentation of the artifacts is awesome.

So much to see here... The tours are well informed and of really high quality, but could perhaps be more considerate of younger visitors? The crown jewels visit was well controlled and paced, which given the level of interest is no mean feat. The Yeomen were an absolute credit, and meeting the second woman in the job was a real treat, especially for my six year old daughter. Visiting the tower still represents extremely good value and we will no doubt visit again in the future.

We have visited a few times and love the history and stories of the tower as well as looking at the Crown Jewels. This time we just walked round and enjoyed the view from the outside. If you go in then worth a guided tour to get the most out of the visit.

Oh my god, I cannot say enough about The Tower! We took a Yeoman Warner tour and our tourguide was Dickie Dover. He was hilarious and entertaining as well as informative. He really made the history come to life! Watch out for the Ravens, they're not friendly and we saw one attack a little girl, one bit my husband as he was walking up the steps from the White Tower.

Loved visiting the Tower of London. We signed up for the tours and the headset, and we stayed for the talks given around the Tower by staff. We learned so much and had so much fun. Totally recommend visiting!

Beautiful place, convenient location, friendly service, and amazing tour offered at the Tower of London. Really enjoyed the stories and the Crown Jewels. It was very hot when we went and the cafeteria is non air conditioned, which makes it very hard to have an enjoyable meal, and they have Pepsi, not Coca Cola. The dumb myth relating to the ravens doesn t mean that it s right to cut their wings, so that they can t leave the castle either! We don t stand for animal cruelty and we don t wish to see it anywhere. For history buffs, this would be great.

The first big place I visited in London and still one of my favourites. I walked all the way from my hostel, right next to St. Paul's, and it took a while but it was nice. The Tower itself is so full of history I couldn't get enough of reading all the plaques. Some rooms had videos to tell the story, like the Bloody Tower and some other I can't remember the name. You can bring your own food and sit on a bench to eat it, but if you decide do eat next to the crows and one of them looks at you, you better run.

With the massive rude crowds and extreme price tag this should be a 2 star. However, if you get there early and do the Yeoman Warder tour and knock out a ton of stuff first it s a great site in a spectacular location. Biggest disappointment was the extreme lines for the Crown Jewels, I do wish they would find another way to filter people through since the wait time was already at 45minutes within 1 hour of being open.

Great historical location, the crown jewels etc inside the vault are mind blowing.
My daughter loves to see the soldiers on guard ("marching men"). And best of all as Tower Hamlets citizens we get to go for just a couple of pounds! Superb

An awesome experience visiting Tower of London. We went for the Yeoman Warder tour. You can wait for the tour to start at different timings. The waiting point is just to the left of the entrance immediately when you enter the entrance where you show the staff your tickets.

A great history to understand behind the Tower of London. I was amazed by what it used to be at Tower of London.

Great attraction to visit in London. Well sign posted and maintained to a high standard, adding color to the detailed, but not over powering, historical background laid out throughout the grounds. It's the first thing on my list when taking friends to visit sites in London.

Today the Tower of London celebrated 125 years.. I had the opportunity to visit the north and south tower, take pictures, visit the museum store and the engine room. But one of the biggest highlights was watching the bridge open and close. If you ever get a chance to go to London, England this is a must see in your trip.

Be ready to walk! start with the tour then go around the rest of this massive place. It amazed me what they were able to construct 1000 years ago... engineering and design out of rock.

If you're in London I highly recommend visiting the tower of London there is so much history here and so many cool things to see. The tower itself is home to nine Ravens and the Ravens fly around freely and if you're lucky enough like I was one will fly right beside you and stops you can get a great picture of these large phenomenal birds but don't make the mistake of touching one of them LOL there are guards on duty with life machine guns near marching throughout the tower it is very very cool to see them do this just don't get in their way there is also the Yeoman Raiders that are guides and they give you guided tours there is a spot near the entrance to the tower of London or The omen Raiders come pick up the group that are waiting it is marked off there you can't miss it and it tells you the time that they will be back and the time that the tour start I highly recommend going on the tour with one of the Yeoman Raiders. the crown jewels are also housed at the tower of London unfortunately there is no photography allowed in there but you can see the Queen's jewels the crowns it's breathtaking

I wasn t even planning on seeing the Crown Jewels, but my daughter insisted and I m glad she did, as they ended up being my favorite part. I m subtracting 1 star because I found the map deficient, staff lacking, and finding my way around very difficult.

A must see attraction BUT only if you are willing to spend the whole day on it. Because it is massive. And I mean it. Massive. Think of at least 4 hours plus. I mean, in different times it has been a prison, home for royal family and a treasury. And you gonna see all of it. You don't have to, of course, but once you start going through all those rooms, it is kinda hard to find the way out of that maze. There is a lot of history, legends, stuff you can touch and wear, so kids are more than welcome.

However, if you want to see Crown Jewels, be prepared to stand another 4 hours in the line. Ya, the line is THAT huge.

FULL of history of course, recommended you take the free guided tour with one of the Yeoman Warders ("Beefeaters") and then check out the Crown Jewels and the White Tower etc. at your leisure.

Go mid afternoon in Summer, lines are gone and not as crowded. Very entertaining walking tour by Beefeaters or Yeoman Warder not to be missed. It adds totally to the Tower experience. Crown Jewels exhibit caps off the tour nicely. Can't take photos of the jewels.

In the Tower of London, I am Anne Boleyn, awaiting the day I become Henry VIII's second wife. Then I am Anne Boleyn again, awaiting my execution. In other occasions, I picture myself as a Victorian debutante, running and twirling through the castle, my Calico dress swishing against my calves as I lift my skirts above my ankles. This is my favorite London landmark. It's so full of history both good and bad that my imagination soars as aggressively as a kite on a windy day. So many important figures died in that tower: Sir Thomas More, Anne and Jane Boleyn, Catherine Howard, King Henry VI, just to name a few. (Fun fact: most of those people died during Henry VIII's reign.) I could almost feel their dark presence in the tower. Almost. Too many tourists. That's what cheapens the experience for me. So many beautiful landmarks ruined with ticket prices and on-the-nose entertainment. It ruins my fanciful mood. Haven't gone in a while, for that reason. My partner is amused by this, and he smiles indulgently as I complain about phone cameras and long lines. Still, if you love history, old buildings and gorgeous scenery, I recommend visiting it.

This was one of the places that I would not miss on a trip to London. The history behind this ancient castle is amazing. I would recommend taking at least half a day to spend in it's walls. Absolutely amazing.

We came to London at the right time.

We came to London at the right time.
First full day we got to see the changing of the guard, went on the London Eye, and did the river cruise.
For lunch we even found an area within walking distance that had gluten free street food. Since I'm celiac, I was so happy.
Next day we toured the tower of London. We even saw the crown jewels.
There were lines, but since we arrived early (10ish) they moved pretty quickly. Including the crown jewels line.
It looked crazy long but it moved at a nice pace. Loved London

Always seem to be very busy but midweek did not have to queue for tickets. There are 2 admission prices, they default to the more expensive that includes a donation so check for the fine print that provides cheaper without donation. I only noticed when my (local) friend pointed in out. A lot of effort has been put into explaining the displays, different to what I recall from 20 years ago!

Much to do in this historic location. Try to take some guided tours whenever possible. Get there early if you'd like to see the crown jewels. The minute you get in the gate head for the queue at the crown jewels. Visit the rest of the grounds afterward.

Amazing place of British history! Visited on a Saturday but the exhibitions didn't feel too crowed. The Crown Jewels exhibit was a highlight and was well presented. Tours, signs and videos were packed with information so we didn't feel audio guides were needed. A must see if visiting London and looking for some history!
