The best place to visit, after the change of the guards in the palace.... must see
Obviously not wholly accessible because it's so old. But where we could access in a wheelchair (the Crown Jewels) was well laid out and worth it. After we saw the post-church band marching with soldiers and beefeaters. Got to be done if you're in London.
Liked the view from outside, not impress with the inside, but that s just my point of view.
Great place to step back in time. Crown jewels are a must see.
We used our London Pass to access the Tower of London, so for us it was a good value-for-money stop. We just missed the start of the tour, so ended up walking around ourselves, but I'd probably recommend jumping on a tour if you can. Be prepared that the crown jewels area is very crowded and you may have to line up for a while if you go during a busy time.
A great time lovely to see the history of the Tower
Excellent day out. AJ our Yeoman Guide was amazing. Such knowledge and humour!
Crown Jewels are fabulous.
Actors were great.
Adults and children loved!
Just catering that could be better.
Great history and great views of London. Guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic and more importantly free. Allow at least 3 hrs there is alot to explore.
One of the must see places to go while in London. You have to see the crown jewels at least once in your life. Be sure to go on the walking tour to learn about the history, before you explore. You can send hours here, so plan accordingly. It is fun for the whole family. Lines can be long, but the did move quickly.
Absolutely fantastic day out. So much history in one place. A must see. The crown jewels were stunning
One of the beautiful monument in London. The crown Jewels room is a must and it gives us an insight about the wealth of the united kingdom
The Crown Jewels were breathtaking! The history was so interesting.
The history is amazing! Prepare, if you want to go in to spend some money! But it is all worth it
We joined the beefeater tour which was fascinating and very amusing narrative throughout the historical information. As you would expect from an historical palace the cafe was immaculate, well run and reasonable price point throughout. Makes me proud to be a Londoner The tourists we net thought the whole atmosphere was wonderfully historic, particularly round the outer walls and traitors gate - spooky stuff.
A must see place. Take time to visit this place. Buy your tickets on line e retrieve then there.
A must for any London visitors. Well worth it. Get a London pass
Head here if you're into history (there's a ton of it), and if you take one of their tours (every half hour, I believe), a beefeater will be happy to tell you all about it. The stories are great, and once you're done with the tour, you can explore on your own (you can explore before too, but I recommend the tour). Great experience with lots to see and learn.
Skip the beefeater tour and do it yourself. Read the plaques, they re worth it for the info. Great idea to make it a stop on the hop on/hop off
Loved this experience!
HITS:
> Yeoman Ward Tour - this is a must on your way in, tag along with a group!
All of the rest is great!
PS. Personally I don t think it s the real Crown Jewels but... could be wrong
A great tower. The best. London has been doing great things lately and I've been hearing more about it. It is making towers great again.
Not that great of an attraction to be honest. The crown jewels you see here (and are not allowed to take pictures of) are not the actual real jewels but reproductions as well.
Nice place to visit while in London and if interested in english or British history.
History must be enjoyed by all..we loved the Tower unreal experience.
It takes minimum half a day to enjoy London Tower. I recommend to take audio guided tour. Audio guide you can buy inside. Also I was very impressed with the theater performances which take place inside the Tower.
Probably one of the best places to go while visiting London. If its your first time, get a little history tour starting in the moat, and the go explore. Lots to see, lot of history. It was a great experience.
While this is a very popular London landmark it wasn t our favorite attraction. The buildings and grounds are very interesting due to the history of the place, but the entire experience is very touristy. The Yeomam Warder tour is informative, but because it is free the group becomes so large it can be tough to hear everything the warder is saying. The line to see the Crown Jewels was nearly an hour long, and the food in their food court was expensive and just average overall.
Simon is the best. Remember to ask why he's called a Beefeater.
Fantastic full of history , One of London's got to see attractions.
One of the best things to do in London!!! History comes to life is this almost 1000 year old fortress. The beefeaters are the best guides in London, funny and smart. Can't recommended enough. Oh and the "crown jewels" are mind blowing. Seriously.
Loved it really interesting. Yeoman Laurence was absolutely fantastic!
Loads of history, an amazing medieval village within a cosmopolitan city.. shame the British summer time weather let it down.
Take the free bewfeaters tour which run every 30 mins.
Educational day out for my nephew (and us adults too)! The actors put on brilliant displays and their costumes were great! Loved seeing the crown jewels.. Shame we couldn't get any pictures of those!
Lots of things to see here plus crown jewels. Worth getting an HRP annual ticket for entrance into all the Historic Royal Palaces.
The Tower of London was worth the visit. Entry was included with the London Pass. The exhibits and collections were interesting. The architecture and scenery were enjoyable.
Most historical Royal place in London.
Must visit and learn about Royal prisoners and the story
Didn't go in this time but heard it's great...
Actually the crown jewels are surprisingly great to see. And the rich history is awesome. Just make sure you take the yeoman tour.
If you dont mind climbing up stairs is a great place to take the family
I highly recommend a visit to the Tower of London and make sure you have the Yeoman Warder tour. We had Lawrence and he was fantastic!!!
Fantastic attraction for the whole family, you could spend all day leisurely visiting each of the exhibits. Our 4 year old daughter loved the crown jewels and the armoury.
Definately needed more time! The Beefeater tour is brilliant & free.
Really informative. I loved all the animal sculptures around the towers. We went straight to the Crown Jewels when they opened. There was barely a line inside. Then went to everything else. It got busy fast.
Full of History, a must for any tourist. Spent 4hours here. Crown Jewels exhibit is very popular, so expect cues. The New Armouries Cafe is good value.
Awesome experience at the tower. So much history packed into a small place and yet it takes a good two to three hours to see everything. Strongly suggest to take the free tour guide as they are done by professional beefeaters or yoemen who will provide a good intro as to what makes this place so special.
Rich in history and architecture. Great afternoon.
Our guide was amazing, made the expirence even better.
Worth a visit, try catch one of the guided tours if you can, very interesting!
My 3rd visit. Great place. Love the atmosphere. Always something different to see. Great staff. Good value for money.
Fascinating and engaging look into English history. The Yeoman Warder guided tours (included in the price of admission) are excellent.
What a wonderfully interesting place. I would definitely go back for another visit because we could not cover it all. The Yeoman warden who gave us the introductory tour was hilarious and quite informative. Recommend you take the introduction and then explore the place on your own. Though all the towers and buildings are important, recommend you complete crown jewels and white tower before going about the other places. There will be a huge queue for the crown jewels on weekends. Plan accordingly.
I liked this place. Interesting and lots to see. Not expencive. Easy to get in. Not overcrowded.
100% worth seeing and spending a good amount of time here (4 hours flew by for me). A few tips: 1) you pay less if you buy your ticket online; 2) the site says you MUST provide a printed ticket - that s no longer true, you can show your ticket via mobile phone; 3) take the yeoman warden tour first so you get a bit of history right away and can orient yourself around the area. Last, put your learning hat on because your brain will be filled to the brim with A LOT of history!
World heritage site that is fun to explore and learn about London history. Lots of crowds, but I went around the end of the day and it wasn't too bad.
We didn't go into the tower, we just visited the tower to watch the Lighting of the Flames. This was for the 100th year of the End of the WW 1. Amazing sight 10,000 flames which took 500 volunteers over 50 minutes to light.
Excellent day out. Very enjoyable and so much history to take in.
The place was amazing but its too pricey. There was a skating place near this castle which looked amazing. Early morning walk near this place is so peaceful in early winters as the view is perfect and the pigeons and other birds make it even pleasing.
Be careful with the ravens around the Tower of London because they can hurt you and they are the protectors of the Tower of London
Saw the ceremony of the keys, great to see history in action
Fantastic day out with loads of history. We followed a warden part way but it was too cold to stand still outside so we did our own thing. Will have to go back on a warmer day.
Always a wonderful place to visit, dripping with history and national mythos.
Currently really peaceful and relaxing with very restricted visitor numbers.
Got to be there when the bridge went up. Its quite the engineering and its beautiful. Everything around London is steeped in history
The stories here never make you tired of listening.
One of my favorite spots to learn some history in London. I highly recommend doing the tour with a Beefeater guide. I think they run the tours on every half hour and it's worth waiting to hear the history and fun facts.
Beautifully preserved with plenty of history.
There are interactive exhibits, actors in dress that will speak to you & there s a large amount of boards with text on for you to learn about the history.
The Crown Jewels were beautiful and I highly recommend that you visit them if you re interested in British History.
The entire day was really fun and enjoyable, I d say go here if you have a good 3 hours or so to spare, as you may miss a few things otherwise.
Expensive, but worth your while. Lots of historic stuff to see. The crown jewels exhibit is the obvious highlight and worth the wait. Lots of stuff to see and do if you're coming with kids.
This place is awesome. Highly recommend going early when they first open. It gets busy fast. Excellent if you want to learn about early history of London.
Very Good Place.Minimum Half day we have to spend. The Jewellery and Diamonds are really Fantastic. We can see here Kohinoor Diamond, taken by British frim India.
It's an amazing place, bursting with history and sights. I think the best views of the Tower are from the outside, where you can see the most and the overall construction. Inside, they haven't put much effort into bringing the rich history to life - there's so much they could do but instead it's just a few signs with very brief descriptions. It's expensive to get into, which is fine to help pay for the upkeep but they really should provide a more immersive experience.
Lovely and historic...but the crowds are huuuge, to be expected at one of London's most popular tourist attractions. All I can say is get there early on weekends..by 10 -11 am for peace of mind
Fantastic place. Definitely get a free tour that they offer. We spent several hours here and it was a great day.
Amazing day out, the warden guide is brilliant well worth the time, full of information and entertaining
Overall entrance fee was higher than should be given everything is a charge once in
This place is huge - allow yourself at least 3 hours and be prepared to queue if you want to see the crown jewels (I didn't have time to wait) It really is amazing! I will be going back to spend more time there, I highly recommend this attraction.
Plan on spending an entire day here. It's great, stick around and eat in the Cafe for lunch too.
Awesome but did not pay to get in was very expensive
My favourite historical tourist stop in all of London . I'd go every time I'm in London if the Mrs. didn't stop me. Extremely interesting, very informative, and very well executed. It's great for all interest levels from history buffs to people who just want to check off the tower from the " things to do " list. Come early as the lines can get long. If you have a very short time in London definitely go to the Tower and Westminster Abbey.
Beautiful, historic buildings. The earlier you get here, the shorter the line for the crown jewels! Well worth the price for admission.
How can one not be impressed by this historicly known sight.
Gotta be full house stars. One of our countrys treasures
It was interesting but if had sold it soul with sponsoring of the crown jewels, wooden staircases and electronic walkways. Very enjoyable though. Always check for online deals.
If you are visiting London, don't miss this! You could easily spend the day here, there is so much to look at as you wander around the different areas and towers. Make sure you visit the White Tower which is bursting with armour and weaponry, and the Crown Jewels are a must-see. For me, my favourite part was the tour by a Yeoman Warden, meeting the Ravenmaster (look him up!) and getting close up to the Tower's ravens. I had simply the best day
