Spent few hours there with my brother joining a tour at 3 pm. We were lucky having great weather and really good guide. Definitely you should join a tour and learn about history of British empire and this amazing place. The tour is included in your ticket price.
Very cool, a must see in London. Lots of history. We went early so there was not a lot of crowds.
Site of Roman Londinium's 1st Fort. Roman power.
William the Conqueror built the Norman Tower fort.
Crown ruled with Norman power from here.
Used as a palace, prison, zoo, mint, treasury, castle, and still houses the Ancestral Crown Jewels to this day. Visit this and Hampton Court and Stone Henge and you've pretty much done England.
This is one of my favourite places to visit and take visitors to London. It is a bit pricey though.
Visited at the weekend, very busy lots of people - this is a really popular attraction. Very interesting and a great day out
Crazy history behind this place, run an audio tour at your own pace to avoid the pfaff of big crowds
I enjoyed my visit. Allot of history here. The crown jewels are unbelievable and I enjoyed getting a close look.
Crown jewels was the interesting exhibit and rest was okay.
The experience was pretty much boring. I also saw some guards there with a gun.
Great historical place the Crown Jewels were incredible!
Good afternoon out. Get the beefeater guide, it only lasts about 30 minutes, but it is informative
The Tower of London is magnificent. I would definitely recommend taking one of the many guides tours offered every 30 minutes. Our guide made history come alive and it was far more enjoyable than doing it on our own. The line for the Crown Jewels is very long even in winter months, so expect a 30-45 minute wait. I thought it was worth the wait, but this could differ from person to person. The Kohinoor diamond on Elizabeth s crown was amazing as advertised (although nicked from Indian sub continent) as were many of the other jewels and ceremonial armor. The grounds themselves are interesting, although the structure looks better from outside than from within.
Wow. Such an amazing place. Centuries of history that is exceptionally well preserved and presented. Very welcoming experience and the Beefeaters are wonderful at bringing the history to life. Excellent and well worth a visit.
Enjoyed the evening tour and had a great time just wandering around during the day. So much to see and take in.
Historical monument. Former royal house. Lots to see and do. Would be 5 stars but it's very expensive for access and refreshments.
It's a building. A big, old building.
Yeoman was funny.
Informative interesting friendly fascinating and lovely day out. It's like stepping into another world. Will peak your interest good for young, old, families & couples.
Expensive entrance fees. Queues everywhere. People were standing outdoors in line, in the rain, for 40 minutes to see the royal regal jewelry. Put your time and effort into something better like the IWM, Tate Modern etc.
Great day out. Get there early as there's a huge queue to get in. Also see the crown jewels first as a very long queue forms mid morning. Join a walking tour if you wish to see inside the chapel.
Absolutely loved it here. Had a great tour with a very knowledgeable and entertaining Yeoman Warder. Some really great exhibits and amazing history to learn about. Got there early enough to not have to queue too long, it was busy but that didn't detract from an enjoyable day
Amazing compound, it was interesting to see how things changed over the centuries.
One of my favorite sights in London. Great for a variety of people, families, tourist, history lovers, medival fans....
Everyone is going to find something to love at the tower.
History is always fascinating but there was some little things what make me feel that they appreciate more many than old culture.
Great historical place, just don't expect the kids to be engaged for more than two hours.
Not busy at all. We went on a Thursday in the late afternoon. It was a but cloudy but otherwise the weather was fine. The staff were friendly and acted out some medieval scenes and there was no line to visit anything.
Must see if you're visiting London and you love history. Give yourself at least 3 hours to see everything.
The 1,000-year-old Tower of London fortress has served as a royal palace, prison, armory, execution chamber and treasury, safeguarding the 24,000 gems that make up the famous Crown Jewels, still worn by the Queen on special occasions. Tours are led by the colorfully costumed Beefeaters who thrill kids. Buy tickets online to avoid long waits; save with a three-palace Royal Pass if you re into nobility.
Amazing tourist attraction! Most entertaining tour. Highly recommended!
Quite expensive to get in, but you can get a two-for-one voucher from S.E.Trains.
Fantastic history lesson - probably one of the best in London. Plenty of gory and exciting stories for children and adults. The crown jewels are there, the ravens, soldiers, beef eaters...I've only given it 4 stars because of the price of entry.
Great day out with loads to see and do very hard to cram it all in one day .... so I advise take your time and immerse yourself in one of the worlds greatest attractions.
'Tower of London' is one of the most popular tourist attraction in London. If you are travelling to London for tourism purpose, don't miss out visiting here.
I really enjoyed visiting there and it was great to see that the glorious history of this tower is displayed in different languages.
If you are visiting this palace, you can also enjoy the scenic beauty of the river Thames and the well-known tower bridge. So, it's like a three-in-one package for the tourists!
While a little pricy, if you are a history nut you can easily spend over 3-4 hours here
Plenty to see and do here, could easily spend more than half a day exploring the history of this iconic series of buildings.
Crown Jewels exhibition definitely worth a look. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Visited for a corporate event. Nice venue and effect presentation space. Please leave plenty of time for parking if not using public transport as area isn't car friendly. The venue is well worth a visit, loads of history and of course the Crown Jewels.
Fun visit. Too many people, but was interesting. Not sure if it impressed me or makes me angry angry at the stupid wealth enjoyed by people while their citizens are unemployed and hungry...
Well worth visiting so much to see really enjoyed it. Crown jewels were amazing & the history was fabulous
Fantastic experience. Can take your time as there aren't too many people
Tower of London was fun. Could spend HOURS here. So much to see/read. Honestly though, wish it was more tower and less museum. The amount of stuff there takes away from the beauty of the old tower!
A historical place, with lots of things and places to visit. The white tower by itself is amazing, but you can also visit and see other things, such as the crown jewels.
An essential piece of British history.
There's a full on day's visiting here, with lots of elements of the castle to see. Listen out for Yeomen giving their regular chats to learn more behind the walls. There are audio guides available and many signs are in multiple languages. There's lots of steps around the place and many cobbles and I saw wheelchair users struggle with wheels getting stuck.
The Crown jewel display is breathtaking and worth the price of admission itself.
The cafe is to be avoided, utterly ridiculous prices for terrible food. Some of the fruit on the shelves was mouldy with no care given by the staff I informed. Bring your own.
Cafe aside, an amazing place to go that is overflowing with stories. There are many discounts available such as the London Pass or London Walks so search ahead before you buy tickets.
Interesting bit of history. Crown Jewels and other artifacts a spectacular.
Great place to visit, see the many historical artefacts and the wonderful crown jewels. The free guided tour is must as the guide is funny and also informative.
Gary was amazing. Would totally go again to hear him make funny jokes and tell more interesting facts about the tower and its history.
Great place. Beefeater guide Barney was fantastic. Hilarious and informative. Crown jewels, armoury were interesting. Unfortunately, when exiting we were ushered out on the far side of the tower to where we needed to be. I think this was due to the armistice day lanterns. We wanted to stick around to see it. But there were 1000s of people which made it impossible. Just walking around the outside of the tower took an hour... we abandoned it completely. Exhausted. Much respect to the guards and Beefeaters! Made me feel proudly British today.
Great history and way bigger than you think. A must visit.
What an amazing amount of rich history. If you have any interest at all in the history of England, and more specifically London and the monarch this is a most visit site. The beefeater tour is wonderful and you get to take close-up pictures with the guards.
The star of the show is likey the crown jewels, and that alone is a great reason to visit. However, the White tower and the museum contained within are also worth the visit.
Dont forget to stop by and see the crows. They are very well loved and it really shows.
Loved it, guided tour is an absolute must and very informative / entertaining and funny! Loads to see and easy to spend a full day here, well recommended
Its a place set back hundreds of years old, known as one the most gruesome prisons in the olden age. It's really historic, but if you're here for the sights, this place gives you 5 star views. It's also just a short walk from Tower Bridge too.
No matter what I say, I won't be able to describe how amazing it is to visit the Tower of London.
Very disappointed. I had waited some 60 years to see this national icon when it was not overrun by tourists.
While the latter made that an excellent experience, the actual displays and display information themselves were sparse, very basic and fairly amateurish when compared to the panache one has got used to at places like the V&A and British Museum.
It seems almost as if they must have been deemed to be of little importance to the vast majority of visitors who are foreign tourists and whose throughput therefore needs to be processed with as few opportunities for delay as possible. And the little information that was tended to focus on names that would be likely to be most familiar to foreign tourists ... Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII, Lady Jane Grey etc etc ... and not those who spent time in the Tower who were arguably more pivotal to the wider history of Great Britain.
But the biggest disappointment was the Crown Jewels which are displayed in very bad light and in a somewhat dingy setting and could only be viewed for a little more than 30 seconds ... whilst standing on a travellator.
Luckily because we visited when permissable during the Covid-19 pandemic, there was practically no one else around, so we're were able to take more than one trip on the travellator and get the sort of good look that few others would ever get.
Should you visit the Tower of London and Crown Jewels ? Yes, because they are national icons of historic importance.
Would I visit again ? No !
Great place to visit. Much bigger than I thought it was going to be. There was a bit of a wait to see the Crown Jewels but the line moved quickly. The gift shops are expensive but what do you expect for such a tourist attraction?
It was well worth the price of admission, even if it isn't running at full capacity currently. Less busy than normal means you aren't overwhelmed by crowds and can enjoy the history. Must see!
One of my favourite places in London. Gives you an idea of how beautiful and well thought out older architecture was. Amazing to go inside as well as a pleasant sight from the outside.
I would highly recommend the Yeoman guided tour when visiting here. You can a fantastic wealth of information, great history lesson and a good laugh from the guides too!
People suggest going to the Crown jewels first but the Yeoman guided tour is definitely a must for visitors
Amazing history, exhibits. Like a step back in time. Once in a lifetime experience
A must do. Worth every penny. Take a few hours to do it right. Crown Jewels... 'nuff said.
We were lucky to go and see the 'ceremony of the Keys' the locking up off the Tower. Amazing evening.
Interesting place. There will be a queue for the crown jewels, but if you later in the day, it is a lot shorter. Even when busy not too bad though. Staff are all excellent.
A great place of history and scenery. The Tower of London was a lovely visit to see the Crown Jewels. The free tour provided by the yeomans are very informative and interesting. I've been several times and each time they have new experiences to see. I also had the opportunity last year to work on replacing the lights in the moat which was a great experience.
Great afternoon with my nephew. There was no queuing, even for the crown jewels. Ice cream stall was convenient.
Excellent introductory tour by one of the Yeoman's. Spent the whole day there. So much to see. Loved the White Tower and the Line of Kings, Crown Jewels, Medieval Palace, Chapel, Prison, Royal Mint and the Ravens. Very interesting history, and community inside grounds. Didn't see everything and need to revisit. Would recommend the audio guide as there is a lot of information to read. Ate toasties at the Armoury cafe. Very welcome on a cold day. Good facilities all around the site. Good gift shops too. Lots of stairs and cobbles so take care if mobility is an issue. Would really recommend spending the day there.
Being the iconic home to the Crown Jewels, this is absolutely stunning to go and see!
Lots of history, interesting things to see (knights' armours, royal jewels), in addition you gwr a unique view of the city where medieval architecture meets the modern buildings. It's worth visiting!
Year 6 had an amazing time at The Tower of London today as part of their topic 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World'. They travelled back in time to discover the mysteries of the tower; learning about prisoners, their crimes, and the punishments and tortures they had to suffer!
A must see historic site. Prepare for some walking and seeing the crown jewels. Stunning!
Beautiful castle! Impressive crown jewels!!! Must visit! Long queue 40-60mins well worth it!
Och, only got to see it at night so it was shut but that didn't matter. It was illuminated so clearly it was just amazing to see either way!
Very nice place to visit but note that people with pushchairs can't go up
Great place to spend a few hours in the winter. Lots of history!!
Great history. Recommend going early in the morning
Need 2 days and good legs
Very good all round
It was okay for a bit of history but I liked Hampton Court way better.
