Nice place. Worth to visit. Excellent viewing of the tower bridge. But not easy to get there from centre (e.g. Westminster, London eye, ...). Best option is the river service (boat) otherwise 45 min walking
The history within these walls is absolutely fascinating. A trip to London must include a visit here. The your guides are terrific and you may suddenly find yourself in the middle of an historic event!
Fab day out. Full of atmosphere and history. Food available and easy access. Recommended!
Loved this...went with colleagues...team bonding. We all loved the day even though was raining when we went.
Excellent tour guides. The crown of jewels are rad, too!
Loved it! Been here before about five years ago and wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much! The yeoman showing us round and telling stories and sharing history really add to the experience
Queues upon queues. Seeing the crown jewels; sparkle was taken away by the ridiculous queuing procedure. I did find it all really interesting. It was ridiculously hot and ridiculously busy.
You can easily give this place a miss. Worth visiting only if you are interested in seeing the crown jewels.
Fun fun fun!!! Missed the torturing towers but heard it was a blast. Jewel displays are awesome.
Great day out plenty of history good tours well worth a visit nice place to have your head chopped off
You can really feel the history in here. Old castle.
One of our favourite stops! So much to see and take in, loved it!
Well it's really worth to visit it. But I would recommend to go there early in the morning or late in the afternoon. So you can take pictures with less or just a few people and you don't have to wait so long in front of the White Tower with the crown jewels. (Especially in the summer when you have to stay there for 1 hour in the sun.) So don't go there at lunchte. And it's actually quiet cheap for an English sight. Just imagine how much you have to pay for London Eye, Stonehenge, The Shard and so on
There is so much to see here and add the reenactment tours and you could easily spend a half day or more. I scheduled 2 hours and it was not enough time.
Obviously, if you're visiting London, you're coming here. Leave yourself more time than you think you should. It takes a good 3+ hours to walk and read through everything. The waking tour with a guard takes 45 minutes. Very worth it! The crown jewels are great, but the rest of the very large property is just as amazing.
Several cafes and toilets (free) on site.
Lots of stairs and uneven ground. Due to its age, it is not a very wheelchair accessible place to get to the upper floors or around the outside of the structure
The British crown jewels are here, and the display for them is fantastic. Also, there are a number of great projection/animation installations throughout that bring the history to life. Nicely done.
For me one of the best sights to explore while in London - fantastic tour through history.
It's a cool place. Lots of interesting exhibits. Seeing The Crown Jewels was incredible. Bloody tower tells an interesting story with a great little animation.
White tower has many interesting artifacts, explanations and an amazing armoury. Be prepared to spend a while in there, it's big and you can only walk one route to exit.
All too often tourist attraction food is low quality fast food, not the case at all here.
Standard of food in the cafe was really very high, I was surprised how good the selection was too. Cream teas were delicious!
Go on the tour near the main entrance gate with a Beefeater if you get a chance, as it's all part of the theatrics and makes for a good bit of interesting fun.
Ridiculously pricey, but just barely worth it for a glimpse at the incredible crown jewels lots of history, good investment of your time.
Its years since i have been, and being in a wheel xhair now i wzs a bit worried but everyone was so helpful there was so much to see i just loved it
Awesome, too much information in one place, huge queue for the crown jewels, if that's what you want to see perhaps go for opening time.
For an adults only experience without the day time crowds try the twilight tours that run until April 2020. As long as your warm, they re an amazing experience!!
Informative and beautiful, great value for money.
Very friendly staff, lots to see and do, well worth the money. Stunning views out over the Thames from the towers!
Queue to see the jewels got big very quickly, would recommend allowing extra time for your visit for the line up
Fantastic experience, loads to explore and learned a lot! Seeing the Crown Jewels was breathtaking. Nothing quite like it.
Lots of history and an amazing sight. The Tower is 1000 years old and you can see the crown jewels if you're willing to wait in the line. I wasn't.
Beefeaters give guided tours that are both entertaining and educational. The history of The Tower is fascinating and the views are fantastic.
The Tower of London is not to be missed.
It is a fabulous experience, the tower has so many stories behind it, to tell you those stories you have these guide men that are fantastic story tellers. There are very old things to see there and the crown with the history behind it.
Can be expensive but good value for money. Beefeaters entertaining, informative, clear, helpful and lovely people.. All staff helpful and polite, nice food but can be crowded. So much more than you could imagine to se and knowledge to gain... Full day out and tour is recommended
This tour was well done and this experience was well worth it.
Very cool place. Loved to see and hear all the history. The river was very cool to see right up to the castle
Wonderful place to visit. Steeped in history, be sure to catch the Beefeater tour, it's really humourous but extremely informative. I'd say that it's the top place in London to visit. Closely followed by the British Museum and the Natural More
I spend there 5h with break for a lunch in a good price and big portion. Lots of interesting facts and even though line was long, getting in took about 15 minutes. Beautiful pieces of historical memories and gems exhibition were breathtaking
Very touristly. I took a visitor there early April weekday. In the past I've seen enormous queues but I thought it would be a better experience for my guest going there when it was less busy. For one it is really expensive. Once in you don't get much for your money. There are tours but there are so many people in them that you can't hear a thing. The best thing in there is the Crown jewels and you can barely see them because you on on a conveyer and there are lots of people in your way. There are better things to do in London than spend your time and money here. On the way out the toilet didn't have any soap and it wasn't wheelchair accessible. I saw a man having to carry his disabled son in the only cubical in there.
Great place full of history, the guided tours are amazing
Didn't know what to expect... Informative, fascinating, very entertaining & even emotional. Recommend to one & all , well done to all staff involved.
The main attraction here is the Crown Jewels and rightfully so. They are easily the most impressive collection of jewels and gold I ve ever seen. If you want to avoid a massive queue, make sure you show up early. Besides the jewels, there s an impressive display of royal armors and weapons. Additionally, there is a torture exhibit that is rather small and bland. There were only three machines. Be sure to watch out for the ravens. They re massive and don t mind getting close to visitors.
such a great historical place within modern cbd area
A very interesting attractions to visit in London for all ages. The ornaments, crowns and other artififacts like Flagons ,punchbowl and ladles made of solid gold. Different types of armour made specifically for kings and also for soldiers . Explains lot of English royal history. There also staff who can help you with details on history relevant to each item. There are characterized people of contemporary ages to give you the historic feeling. The facility is clean including the toilets. One can also hire commentary audio equipment.
Don't miss the Kohinoor.
Awesome place to visit. Yoman Guards are so knowledgeable and Cafe staff so polite and very helpful. Food is delicious too
Really interesting displays and information. They also offer a military discount, though it isn't listed on the sign with the other ticket prices. Overall loved it.
A great place to learn some history dating back to the 11th century and see the British crowns. There are also cafes and sovienier shops over there holding a variety of things.
It also holds British armoury and cannons along with a museum presiding for the fusilier army museum.
I would say to visit the it early and is close to train station tower hill. Whereas you can also take a boat ride to Westminster pier from tower pier.
Classic castle in the City of London. Crown Jules, torture, dragons and armor... it has it all.
This was an amazing experience! My mother and I both loved seeing the Tower of London!
A landmark of royal history infused with blood, torment and intrigue. Overwhelmed by tourists and schoolchildren early in the day, the seat of royal power clears up in the afternoon, and the wait time for the royal jewels drops precipitously. Stay till closing time, and walk out through the traitor s gate if you dare. But not before puzzling out the prisoner prayers and credos carved into the walls, or admiring Edward I Longshanks luscious royal bed.
Really cool place. The crown jewels were amazing. Just fantastic. Really enjoyed it. The actors were good fun who took the tour.
The great place for understand GB's history. Worth to visit it
One of the best places to visit in London. Quick tips:
1. buy the ticket in advance over the internet
2. definitely visit with Yeoman guided tour (every 15 min, no extra fee) - this is a must as it makes it more fun and memorable
3. go early in the morning to avoid the crowd, it gets crazy in the afternoon
4. jewelry rooms are interesting but not sure if it worths 1-2 hour of wait on the line
fabulous place but the queue for crown jewels was too long.
Iconic setting - great flow to how to navigate way round the outer battlements as well as through the various towers and palace. So much too see and learn and great for photos
Highly recommend the free Yeoman tour for anyone visiting the Tower.
a great place, for me more interesting than big ben, for example
Awesome place, view thru the bridge glass is stunning. As well as you can spend some quality time at open space near the bridge. Enjoy food and drinks out there. During summer, it's best time to visit and enjoy with friends or family. Cheers ~
Awfully expansive! I paid what I remember to be around 30/40 euros to get an hour of experience where what is considered to be the best part is the "crown jewels". DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR JEWELS TOO, ELIZABETH!?
Fantastic place, I participated to the play of the knights school. Just wonderful.
In the photos the actresses.
Very interesting. This is somewhere we've always wanted to go to. We were a bit disappointed that the chapel was not open as we didn't get to see Anne Boelyn's grave, but we were there on a Sunday, so it was not that big of a surprise. There are lots of stairs to climb, so I would say that people with mobility issues may not enjoy it as much. Overall, it was an excellent historical site. Be sure to talk to the Beefeaters about the Tower. They are all more than happy to answer any questions. By the way, the Ravens are a blast! They love people
Such magnificent sightseeing. A must see in London.
Absolutely fantastic day out, so much history, so much to see and do. Amazing family day
Enjoyable and educational day out for family. Good social distancing in place.
Amazing and lits to se and do even if the weather is not the best
Easy to get to via tower hill tube station. Recommend buying tickets online and picking up at customer experience centre. You get free gifts for children. Crown jewels are amazing and enjoyed the actors as well. Will go back as there is much too see.
Great historical place. Depending on when you go, it might be quite crowded. We went in mid April, but the fast track tickets that we got with the London Pass really helped since we bypassed the long line outside. In order to have an enjoyable experience, I'd recommend getting in early, and finish seeing the crown jewels first since that gets crowded later. Definitely take in the beefeater tour.
Great place to visit. Love the Ravens, soooo cute and tame!
I think this is the most exciting experience among all london attractions!
A must see on your trip to England. I recommend going during the off season as it's just impossible with the crowds otherwise. The tour is entertaining with a beefeater and there are tons of historical photographic views. If your lucky you'll see the ravens.
Amazing. A lot of history to explore and take in. Well worth visiting.
Awesome experience..We took a ticket for group tour and got a map with it. We stayed in a group for a while but later on we explored it by ourself. White tower is awesome the display of armor inside it is mind blowing.
Its Is a nice place to have a view of the whole of london
Great experience wandering in the steps of ghosts and kings. Enjoyed the graffiti in the tower from hundreds of years ago. Not a fan of the crown jewels, and not worth waiting to see. The story of the ravens was cool. Overall, a great visit!
What a great place to visit.so much to see and learn about.I think everyone should go to the tower of London .
This is a cool castle. So historic. Take the audio tour to learn all about it and take your time walking thru.
Why would you not visit this area. Between internal tours, external views, and of course, Tower Bridge. The view from the bridge is amazing. This area is a thriving historical hotspot. If there's only one location to head to whilst in London. Make it this. A short stroll is an exposes section of the Roman wall. Again, and amazing spectacle in itself. Also keep an eye out for the old London buses... While they're still around.
Awesome experience! Easy to get to. If you're already in London you have to go. Can get crowded with long lines so go early. Other things to see in the same area, tube stop near by. Guided tour better then recorded info.
Creepily atmospheric medieval journey through history.
Chokka-block with tourists!
The 7 ravens at the Tower to protect Britain and her Crown from falling to foreign invasion is the residue of the Welsh Celtic legend of Bendigeidfran aka Bran The Blessed in the Mabinogion. Bran was not human. He was a giant. In Welsh Bran means Raven. A giant Crow. Ravens are seen as having magical and protective powers.
Matholwch the Irish king sails to Harlech to ask Bran high king of the Island's of the mighty, for his sister's hand in marriage, Branwen. Thus forging an alliance between the 2 Islands.
However, at the wedding feast, Branwen and Bran's half brother Efnysien mutilates Matholwch's horses because he was not consulted at the match of suiter. As compensation for the horses Bran gives his brother-in-law a magic cauldron which brings the dead back to life.
The newlyweds return to Ireland. And Branwen gives birth to Gwern.
Unfortunately, Efnysien's insult has enraged many of the Irish and tainted by them, Matholwch mistreats Branwen who is beaten daily and demoted from Queen to kitchen servent.
Branwen tames a starling and sends it with a message to Bran to rescue her.
Bran with his brothers Manawydan and Efnysien and a hoard of Welsh warriors set sail.
The Irish pretend to make piece. But hang 100 sacks in the feasting Hall with warriors hidden within. Efnysien smells their treachery and crushes the skulls of the hidden warriors. He is so enraged he burns Branwen's child Gwern to death. Branwen dies of a broken heart. And a mahoosive battle ensues.
Realising the Irish are replenishing their army with the magic cauldron, Efnysien jumps into the cauldron and destroys it from within. Dying in the process.
Only 7 survivors remain, including Manawydan and the mortally wounded Bran. Bran tells them to cut off his head and to bury it on Gwynfryn facing France to ward off and protect Britain from invading foreigners.
They return to Harlech for 7yrs with the talking head of Bran. And then go with it to Gwales (Grassholm Island off Dyfed) for 80yrs, but without perceiving the passing of time and until Bran's head falls silent.
They then take the head as instructed to Gwynfryn the White Hill, (the site of the White Tower) and bury the decapitated head facing France.
The Celts were head hunters ; the human head was venerated above all else, as it was seen as the soul, centre of emotions and of life itself. A symbol of divinity and the powers of "The Otherworld!".
Celtic Mythology is full of heroes and saints who carry their own decapitated heads.
The ravens are taken care of by the Ravenmaster.

Fascinating must visit with a witty and enjoyable tour.
I've visited twice and still haven't seen all of it. Fascinating site with so many different layers of history. Awesome gift shops. This is a must see.
Magnificent castle, brilliant outdoor opera, the stunning Crown Jewels and countless historic armors. oh! Don't forget the excellent tour guides.
I spent whole day in here, totally worth it.
The beef eaters make the experience totally fantastic, it's quite simply a magical place to visit. Me and my kids had a wonderful day.
Beautiful and a place that is legendary. A literal bucket list item to check off. Next time when I have more time, I'll go inside
Amazing place....can't believe I have never been to it before.
One of the favourite tourist attractions in London however as per the myth this place turns into horrible in night where lots of people have claimed to see two sisters who were princess & murdered their uncle. We asked our agent to arrange our stay here but he denied saying that it is prohibited.
Crowded at times but worth seeing the Crown Jewels.
