The Tower of London is magnificent. I would definitely recommend taking one of the many guides tours offered every 30 minutes. Our guide made history come alive and it was far more enjoyable than doing it on our own. The line for the Crown Jewels is very long even in winter months, so expect a 30-45 minute wait. I thought it was worth the wait, but this could differ from person to person. The Kohinoor diamond on Elizabeth s crown was amazing as advertised (although nicked from Indian sub continent) as were many of the other jewels and ceremonial armor. The grounds themselves are interesting, although the structure looks better from outside than from within.
