The Tower of London is one of the world s most famous fortresses and has seen service as royal palace, prison, armoury and even a zoo. The ancient stones hold within them dark secrets, as fortified vaults shine with priceless jewels and historic uniformed Beefeaters stroll the grounds. Situated in Central London, just a stone s throw from the River Thames, the Tower of London is one of the city's premier attractions.

Absolutely amazing experience definitely worth going. I'm from Australia and visited London in October. Amazing time to go the weather is really nice not too cold at all, doing a tour of the tower is defiantly worth doing. All the staff were fantastic and made the whole experience pleasant and unforgettable. I would recommend maybe doing it over 2 days so you can really grasp everything they have there. Quite a family friendly place there's spots that interact with kids and places to sit down and eat etc. My favourite part would probably seeing all of the past king and queen crowns with their original jewels still in them.

A must see London attraction but not entirely for those with creaky knees or who get claustrophobic. You get a real glimpse of British history as the Tower was a centre point for many key stages in the past. The highlight is being able to see the replicas of the crown jewels and then of course the most exuberant array of treasures which were adorned by the British royals throughout the ages.

Very cool history and lots of great information. We did not do the guided tour, but just walking around and reading the plaques was great! As with any tourist attraction, the shops on-site were very expensive, but that's too be expected.

If you can visit only one tourist attraction in Britain, this has to be it. The entry fee is pretty hefty, but there is masses to see. I think you need at least three hours. The cafe is good and not too expensive, so if you tire easily, plan to take a break half way through. The exhibition s are really well done, and I can recommend the beefeater guided tour.

Fantastic tour, albeit shorter than I'd have liked. If you want to see a castle proper this is the site. The torture is a bit played up compared to what is actually on display, unfortunately. Lots of history to be taken in for sure. Spent about 4 hours here, and would have stayed longer if I'd had the time.

Very interesting, with lots of fascinating history. The crown jewels are gorgeous, and the stories surrounding the tower and its past prisoners are endlessly intriguing. The famous ravens will allow you to get close enough for a picture, but no feeding them or getting too close to those sharp beaks! There's things for kids to do as well, like "knight school". Definitely make time to visit this when in London.

The Tower of London is a must visit location in London. The star attraction within it is the collection of crown jewels. The crown jewels are estimated to be worth at least 3 billion (yes billion) and can be seen here. You can't take pictures unfortunately. It is very impressive to see. I highly recommend getting to the Tower if London when it opens with a ticket in hand and go directly to the crown jewels. I did this and there were no lines. I also went through the White Tower and saw an impressive collection of old armory including kings' armor, again with no lines or crowd. This was about an hour after opening and by then crowds we're everywhere. The tower also used to house a Royal palace back in the 1200s which was neat to see. The also run free tours by beefeaters and those are entertaining but draw large crowds. Overall very worth a visit. An early visit, at the opening hour.

Great day out for all ages . The history of the castle grounds was so interesting definitely worth going . The best part was the the reenactment and inside the chapel the guards definitely did their job well and told interesting story's about the kings and Queens of England and other people who lived and died . Especially Henry the 8th what a lovely king he must of been with all his beheadings and horrible ways . I also admired the castles architecture and how it's changed over the time . I would definitely recommend this as a top site to go visit in London .

Just incredible. I took the early tour so we could witness the tradition of the gate opening from the inside. Everything about this place, from the crown jewels, to the white tower, to the ravens is just mystifying and interesting. The jewels are gobsmacking, so much gold. A diamond the size of a golf ball. And to learn of the history and tradition of their role in coronations is fascinating. Easy to spend a lot of time here.

A definite must see, make sure you go to one of the Beefeater guided tours, they really know their stuff and the guy we had was hilarious. Being able to see and experience all the history first hand is great and the display and exhibits are brought to life with the audio guides.

Beautiful! The beefeater tour was great and I highly recommend everyone to do it. Such amazing scenery and the history is incredible. Can t believe the tower is almost 1000 years old. Saw the Crown Jewels as well. Super long line and we only waiting 25 minutes.

This place was awesome! From the chapel to the weapons room, every inch of the castle is well preserved, yet makes you feel as though you're being transported back to the days of King Edward. The staff were all friendly, and ready to answer any question I had. I love visiting the Tower every time I'm in London. Awesome!

Tower of London is iconic and part of British history and was built around the 11th century. Explore the grounds of the Tower of London, see the Crown Jewels of the British Monarchy and Keep your eyes peeled for one of the on-site ravens! Ensure to arrive in the early morning to beat the queues as this london attraction can get busy in the afternoons.

If you're visiting London, you can miss Buckingham Palace. You can miss the Big Ban and Nothing Hill, but you mustn't miss the Tower. The Monarchy Jewels are a must. The ravens makes this place creepy and mysterious. The white tower hides an interesting museum. The green tower tells sad stories. The tower is the gate to the sea. Every corner has a great meaning for the City. I think it's the true heart of London

Spectacular castle with a lot of history. A must in London considering you can see the Crown Jewels, the museums and the inside of one of the most famous castles in the world. Beefeaters will guide you all the way thru.

This is an example of an historic location done exactly right in terms of public visitation. It works for small and large groups with guided or self-guided tours. There are great details shared for history lovers and there's something for everyone: Crown Jewels, interesting architecture, indoor/outdoor exhibits, governmental history, prisoners, armaments, and much more. Go, spend the day, and enjoy!

Brilliant to get to see all the various crowns and ceremony bowls, spoons, plates, trumpets etc. Long queue but moves quite quickly. Everywhere well kept and lots of places to sit and rest. Very disabled friendly and friendly staff. There are green areas and places to get drinks and ice cream. Plus toilets.

Home of the Crown Jewels of England, used to be the home of lions, prisoners and Beefeaters or Yeomen Warders "Guardians Of The Tower". This is a stunning Castle fortress. And is currently Her Majesty's Royal Palace. This is one of my favorite areas of London as there is a lot to do here. There is a lot of options here from walking the board walk to the London Bridge to walking the Tower Bridge and going up into the glass floor. There are lots of food stands out front from fish and chips to every kind of chocolate cones to popcorn it's almost like a carnival atmosphere here, I love it and want to go back. No cameras allowed inside.

Lived in London 3 years and I only just managed to get here just before I left for good. Amazing. History-filled. The Beefeater Guards are probably the tower's greatest assets (although perhaps you'll prefer the crown jewels?). Plan for at least 3-4 hours here - there's plenty to do and you won't want to rush.

Would advise you to Book tickets in advance..

Castle in all aspects simply worth visiting. Try the 2 for 1 online tickets and spend 50% less if two of you are visiting. Crown Jewels is something people queue up to see but I was disappointed. It s good but not great all the jewels inside mostly are copy or fake including the great Kohinoor diamond of india. The best part about this is the free talk provided by beefeater guard of the castle. Check the timing and location when you enter. Don t miss that one it s a vivid summary of the castle history.

Absolutely superb. It is slightly problematic for wheelchair users. It's a large site so you'll need a lot of time to get around. There is a cafe which is functional and does offer limited gluten free options. Shops are good and prices aren't outrageous. Very good access from the river and tube. Loved it.

No better place in the world to learn about English heritage, the staff are accommodating and enjoy thier day as much as the guests. The only reason it's missing a star is purely down to the lack of public toilets and the incredibly expensive gift shop. A great place to visit if your from another country a must see.

Back then people were more patient and build with a passion. Those days time and budget would not allow for such a beautiful construction. Just comparing with eg millennium bridge - what a achievement lol

Everyone should visit once. I think I visited as a child but can't really remember. It was quite busy although I expect it gets much worse in summer. There were queues to most of the towers, and it was about an hour queue for the crown jewels. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. Seeing them up close didn't add anything for me personally compared to watching something on TV. And I am not big on queues - life is too short. Overall a good day out, although not the cheapest.

An excellent museum of British history. I won't regurgitate anything a good guidebook will say, but it's not every day one will see a former Royal Mint, walk a well-conditioned battlement, or look upon a rack and scavenger's daughter. 4* due to the sheer mass of people making a good look around difficult.

The experience of Tower of London is absolutely amazing. The collection is really impressive, the story telling is immersive and the final piece... Randomness acting scene was something I never saw in a museum before.

It is next to the Tower Bridge and has the Crown jewels. The only room worth visiting is the Kohinoor diamond room where you move on an escalator. The other large Cullinan Diamond is even more impressive on a sceptre. The rest of the Tower is something which you will forget easily except when they fill the moat with poppies in memory of the soldiers who died in the wars. The other attractions alike the Beefeater guards or the raven or the torture chamber are all not worth it. But to visit the Church inside you have to join the Beefeater tour.

The Tower of London is full of history. Its a great stop while going through London if you really want to know about the history of this monument. DO be sure to go along the route that starts on the right wall as you walk in. Otherwise you will end up constantly backtracking. If you get their early go strait to the crown jewels as it got busy quick. Bathrooms in the front are a joke, go to the back for the bathrooms. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as you will be hiking quite a bit.

Visited the Tower of London for the ceremony of the keys. The locking up of the Tower which is fine every night in a very special formal way, as it has been for the last 800 years. A wonderful experience of English tradition at its best. A must for everyone
