It's great fun. Loads to see and discover. You can go with a guide or just by yourself. You can buy something to drink or a snack and the've got toilets so you can easily stay there for an hour or 2 to 3. The crown jewels are nice to see also.

So much history here. I recommend.me d getting the audio guide and following as many of the tours as your feet will allow. Also speak with the staff who are in costume. The each of their history of their characters well known. The crown jewels are a must see. It's not just jewelry. There is a huge punch bowl and ladle as well as other non jewelry things. The food in the cafeteria was excellent. It is brought in from the local markets such as Borough Market. Allow a half day MINIMUM.

The 105-carat Kohinoor diamond, which sits in the Tower of London, was once the largest diamond in the world, mined at Kollur Mine in the present state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It has been at the heart of a bitter row between India and Britain ever since it was taken from the Punjab and presented to Queen Victoria in 1849. The crown jewels clearly the main attraction but the Armoury exhibit, the royal chapel and the royal mint exhibits are also very good. You should go, along with a tour of tower bridge. This place is an incredible experience of the history of the castle and are entertaining as well. Plan to spend a half day at least to be able to see everything you can. This is an incredible piece of history that should not be missed. Great experience and actually worth the entry fee. I'd recommend visitors to try it.

What more can be said about this venue? It is incredible, from the setting, to the building. From the Beefeaters to the tours. Any Civil Servants reading this, join the CSSC and entry's free!

It's the Tower of London... what can you say? It was amazing to step back in time and see a place built around the 1200's. We purchased the walking headset (less than 10 pounds) and that made it all the more interesting. The crown jewels are gorgeous and breathtaking. Really fascinating experience. Oh and the security guard said I was Mary Poppins when checking my bag (bc I carry so many items... HELLO... made my London trip!)

No visit to London would be complete without a visit to this historic castle.
The oldest and most famous. The Tower has stood for a thousand years with British history oozing from every where you walk.
Make sure you have a tour with the remarkable Beefeaters who will passionately tell you of its history. Home to the crown jewels and the Royal Armoury. You literally walk in the footsteps of history.

I've always wanted to visit 'The Tower' ... it was not what I expected but was utterly marvellous. The most wondeful historic site I've ever seen, I could imagine the poor souls locked up within. The Tower also has resident large black crows that add to a creepy atmosphere.

Outstanding historical venue. Wonderful staff who are incredibly knowledgeable. Free tours. If you can, get signed up for the ceremony of the keys. In any case, try to arrive as early in the day as possible if you're interested in seeing the Crown Jewels.

Well worth a visit when in London. I recommend buying your tickets online, since it's both cheaper and more convenient. Just make sure you go to the correct queue if you collect them on site. I did not. I would also recommend the audio tour. It's worth the extra pounds and it's probably difficult to fully experience The Tower just by looking around. If you are going to see the crown jewels, start there, as I experienced that the queue just got longer as the morning progressed.

Went there with my school boys age 6 and 9 years old. They both loved learning more about the English history, making my membership investment worthwhile. The Crown Jewel exhibition is a must seen if you go there. The view to the London Bridge is amazing but there lots more to see!

One of the best spots for tourists in London! Be prepared to spend about 3 hours here between the guided tour and walking around on your own. The beefeaters do a great job of explaining the history. Sometimes you'll even get a funny one. The ravens are cool too, but they'll bite.

The Tower of London is gorgeous but what was a wonderful surprise was the tour with the Beefeater:
It is a great way to learn a lot about the history of this site through the enjoyable storytelling of such a Guide!!

It does mix the history of London with an exposure to the modern city of London . Really great place and a must when visiting London . To get inside you should get a ticket which I hadn't the chance because the queue was too long and I did have engounh time . From the guide there is does aquire a half day to see everything . Maybe next time I will be in .

The tour is nice. You get to see the crown jewels!! The history of the tower and animal section is interesting. Getting an audio guide is not necessary because there are local guides offering free services... just that the crowd gets bigger... i took the audio guide but listened to one of the guides and he was informative and entertaining as well...

Genuinely one of the most historic places in England. A must see for any local as much as any tourist. The place is stunning and incredibly well preserved. The free yeomen tours are educational, witty and dark. And as for the crown jewels, the vault doors are almost as impressive as the treasures inside. It is a little on the expensive side, but if you buy an annual membership to Historic Royal Palaces, you only have to visit one other stately home to instantly make a substantial saving. If you don't go, you deserve to lose your head.

The ceremony of the keys has happened every night for over 700 years (bar one evening when a bomb dropped during WW2), and its said to be the oldest military ceremony in the world! It's fascinating...a must visit.

A curious and terrifying unearthing of London through the centuries, the struggle to maintain or usurp power, and the tenuous connection between monarchy, state, and the church. A must when visiting London for the first time. Be prepared for stairs...lots of stairs.

Great place for children to run around. The little farm is a bonus though not as good as it used to be. This is a good and free place for a day out.More all weather tracks now with several suitable for wheelchairs. Some flat walks but hills are available. Pleasant cafe with good light refreshments. Interesting carvings on some of the walks and a few animals in the children s zoo.

The Tower of London is an amazing place of history, and home to the Crown Jewel's. It has seen more than a 1000 yrs of English history, and many famous people of their day go through its gates.

Make sure to go early, while still busy it was quieter then mid day. Join the beefeater tour to get the most from your visit. Very entertaining. Be prepared for min 1 hour queue for the crown jewels. The tower was the highlight of my london visit

Great family day out, long queue for crown jewels but moved quite quickly. Extra activities for kids at half term. Gift shops are very expensive better off buying a souvenir outside. Actors were great, acting out the attempted robbery of crown jewels, all kids got a medal at the end.

Great place to visit, was VERY busy and had to queue a lot. We unfortunately visited on a really windy day, so the tour that we were looking forward to was cut short. Enjoyed seeing the jewels and the beasts exhibition. Would have liked more food options.

Tower of london has such an amazing vibes that will make your day. There is no entry fee if you want to walk through the bridge but you need to pay if you want to go to top and have a look from up. It has a toilet near by in the garden which is at one ene of the bridge. If you want to find places to eat around, they are inside the garden too.

An absolute must see if you're visiting London. Place is absolutely alive with History and the have the Crown Jewels on permanent display here. The collection includes the largest diamond in the world known as "The star of Africa ". The Beefeaters conduct the best tours (unsurprisingly as they live here).

A place you must visit at least once in your life. Highlights include the Crown Jewels and general history of what happened there. Amazing to see the graffiti left by prisoners in the tower .

Information boards were really good as very informative but not too much information to take in - very good brief key snippets.

Felt like loads to explore: you can easily spend a day here so don t plan this as a quick visit.

A must see while in London. Plan to spend at least half a day we did and I know we didn't see everything. Watch the line to see the Crown jewels, we waited till later in the afternoon and it got considerably shorter. We did not do the Yeoman Warder guided tour but have heard good things about it. American seniors the British use the word commission for over 65 pricing just beware. Buy the guide book everyone we got was full of excellent info and make a great souvenir.
