Great historical location. You can walk the ramparts, see torture rooms or jails, receive tours from the old quartermasters, and even see the crown jewels. Recommend getting here as early as possible as the lines can get quite long. Even getting there around ten in the morning the line to the jewels was over an hour. Ended up not seeing them this time.

Yes it's expensive but it's worth every penny!! I'd advise to get the electronic guide as there are quite a few tours and you want to make the most of it. If you love history and learning about kings and queens of the past then you will More

While this London attraction can be incredibly busy and there is a significant cost in going within it is still well worth the visit. The White Tower built as a symbol his power was built by William the conqueror not long after his invasion. With a long history of various vocations from palace, to prison, to mint. Be sure to also take the time to visit the crown jewels. See the ravens. If you can, though it requires tremendous forethought in order to get tickets, it is free to watch the historical Ceremony of the Keys.

One of my favorite parts of visiting London was going to the Tower of London. The tour was great, but we also had a wonderful time just wandering for hours. It's so picturesque and and full of interesting history.

John our guide took us into the Tower of London and he described the history of the Tower pointing out the different buildings and their use over time. The ladies liked the Beefeater Uniforms. We got to see the Crown Jewels which were dazzling and astonishing in their displays. There were 204 steps we had to ascend and descend in the White Tower which is the original Keep of the complex. It contains may displays of armor for both man and beast. Before we exited the Tower, complex we went into the torture chamber rooms which has several implements on display. Some of the pieces reminded me of a Physical Therapy facility I had to go to a few years ago. It s good to live in the current age where the equipment does not have those spikes!

An amazing and enlightening place on the history of this country, if only the walls could talk!
Visitors will just have to make do with the hugely entertaining free tours offered by the Yeoman Warders, not to be missed!

Well worth the visit, and very nicely preserved inside and out. The Crown Jewels are also beautiful to see. To see the craftsmanship that went in to all of that was incredible. As for the rooms to where the throne was, I was a little surprised. Go see it if you are in the area.

It is an incredible place, very rich in culture and details of how the royal family lived. It is possible to see the crown jewels, armor and weapons used over the years. I recommend setting aside a whole day, if you have time and interest and get a better look at every detail. The Tower of London area is very large, so it's nice to reserve a good amount of time. I also recommend the use of audio guides, otherwise the visit becomes just an observation of the pieces, without understanding the history that surrounds them.

Large and interesting set of buildings, walls, miniature museums, and shops. The beefeater tour guides were super engaging, funny, and knowledgeable. Amazing to reimagine the past events occurring in those same walls. I found the Crown Jewels, White Tower, and Bloody Tower to be the most interesting. You cna easily spend half a day here, but give yourself at least 2 hours to see the key buildings. The Tower is super close to the Tower Bridge, another famous site.

Tower of London is a must do when in London!! Get the audio tour so get the full affect of the enormous place. My biggest mistake what not allowing for at least 4 hours to see everything. I recommend stopping in and listening to a few beefeaters tell you a story or two. Really fascinating part of UK history right here.

A bit more in depth into British history than you'd want to care (as an American), but interesting nonetheless. The crown jewels are amazing of course, though get there first to avoid crowds. Beefeater tours are funny and engaging but packed. The Tower has a rich history

Such a treat to visit and the Tower has some really intresting items. Personal treat was touching Mary Rose's Cannon, I remember the time the drivers found it and rubbed it to reveal the Tudor Rose and I bet they did a happy dance under the sea..

Crown jewels were definitely the highlight of the tour. They look much more magnificent in person. To avoid the long queue time, go there early in the morning and go for the crown jewels first.

Interesting tour around a significant landmark. Be sure to follow the beefeater as he tells stories about the history of the place.

As with most tourist sites the food inside for is just ok and quite expensive. Be aware, no in and out privileges so don't go hungry expecting to duck out for lunch.

Great place to stay close to all attractions breakfast great plenty to chose from great view rooms clean and tidy.
Only down side long waits for the lifts at certain times. Would definitely stay there again.

Had a fantastic tour with amazing Paul from Wales as a guide. So much to see. Excellent experience, highly recommended. Had some lovely fish and chips across the way afterwards. Just watch out for the gulls: they can get agressive

A very interesting place if you like armours and weapons. If you're lucky and have the chance to find the free guide, the experience will be much better, since you will listen to many curiosity about the place that you can't find in the leaflet you get at the entrance.

So much history! Make sure to catch one of the tours with the retired military. They know so much about the history of the tower and the people that have been through it; and they re pretty hilarious!

This was definitely and completely worth it. 1) buy your tickets online, you'll save 15%. 2) there are free tours included in the admission, I highly recommend it.Our guide was an amazing Yeoman Warder who was both insightful, funny and stayed in character (YW are the palace gaurds: only military personnel of rank Sargent or above who have served at least 20 years in the army can apply to become Yeomen warders).

Yoeman Tour was worth the entrance fee alone!
We grabbed coffees, crisps and cakes from the cafe before joining the queue for the Crown Jewels as we knew it would be quite a wait
If you need gluten free food, you have to ask a member of staff, they will make a sandwich/toastie to order for you. Be warned, prices are not cheap!
Thoroughly enjoyable day out

The history this place it's mind blowing. The sheer amount of objects and displays is really well put together and in no time you feel like a visitor in the past. Very well explained and conserved. More than worth the price

This place is full of history. Home to royalty, revolts, child murder, prisoners, torture, and executions. Not to mention a moat full of excrement! Take the yeoman tour--the commentary is humorous and gives a good overall basis that will lead you to explore more.

Very interesting and engaging tour and site. The Yomen were full of knowledge and extremely helpful with any questions we had. If you are in London the tower is a must to take a day to tour.

If I describe the splendour of tower of London I will only be repeating what the other reviewers have said. Here on Google it's mentioned that a typical visit would last for 3 hours and I'm a little baffled because from my experience, there is just a lot to see and if your experience lasts for just 3 hours perhaps you're skipping some aspects of the tower and hence, you're not making the best of your money.

The aspects that you must see are:
1. The white tower, where you would spend an hour.
2. The crown jewels, where you would spend an hour.
3. The wall walk including the Medieval palace, Bloody tower and the torture chambers, where you would typically spend two hours.
4. The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum and the royal mint, where you would spend an hour.
5. The Yeoman tour which would last for an hour.

Hence, a full experience would last for more than six hours. So if you are planning to visit an other place on the same day that you plan to visit the tower of London, please make a wise decision; don't be misinformed by Google. Give priority to your visit to the tower of London.

This is definitely a must-see in London. Our yeoman Clive was great. Very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend this for any tourist, and hopefully you ll be lucky enough to get Clive!

Absolutely magnificent. A thousand years of British history preserved inside the Tower grounds...you can easily spend 3 or more hours exploring and reading. I go a few times a year and never get bored.

i accidentally broke the door to the execution room. i didnt know that it was highly illegal to enter. i noticed that when I saw the ghost of anne berlin eating heads. then I politely said: hello. She went insane and threw Charles I head at me, which knocked me out of the window. then I joined her in the tower.

It's pricey but it was definitely my favorite attraction in London. Be sure to follow along a Yeoman tour (free with admission) and learn a lot about the history and purpose of the fortress. Don't forget to see the Crown Jewels and the ridiculous punch bowl.

You could spend more than a day here. There s no much history to enjoy dating back to the 11th century. Also to see the Crown Jewels is a a worthwhile experience. There are some ravens there and towers with a portion of history that you can explore. It s like a mini city

The history was very cool, but it was brought down by the sheer number of visitors and school groups. I loved the exhibits, and the free tour, and the history of the place - there is a lot to see and learn here. But as I said, be aware that it will be loud and crowded. There is a moving sidewalk in front of the crown jewels which makes them easier to see, but no pictures allowed there.

One of my favourite places in London. Gives you an idea of how beautiful and well thought out older architecture was. Amazing to go inside as well as a pleasant sight from the outside. There are also loads of cool events for free, such as this light show of the northern lights. A very different feel to the rest of London.

Needs about 4 hrs to get right around. Well planned and interesting route through the towers and Crown Jewels. Great cafe. Would recommend flat shoes/trainers, as some cobbled areas to walk outside.

The Tower of London is an amazing historical royal stronghold and one of the most fascinating places to see in London. Its best to buy online to save 15%. It's a whole day experience, so take luncheon and drinks to save on the overpriced cafes. Get there for opening time to avoid the queues for the crown jewels and do these first. There are guided tours with Yeoman Warders and these last 30-45 mins: they are worth doing.

Take time to speak to a Yeoman Warder and they will tell you what life is like in the Tower. It makes for a good picture too.

The Tower is one of those places everyone wants to see and the crowds are a testament to it's popularity. Go early to see the crown jewels. Then take your time seeing the rest of the Tower.

It is expensive but well worthwhile if enjoyed with enough time. I highly recommend to read about the tower of London before your visit in order to have a different feeling about the historical facts that took place within the walls. Do not miss the guided tour.

This is a must see! There is so much History here, and it is such a unique site that I could not recommend it enough. The white tower is stunning, the jewels are stunning, the old streets and pathways inside are brilliant. You can also see arms and armours, statues and so much more! If you go to London, this place is one you have to see. Absolutely amazing.

I had taken the single Adult tour which cost me GBP 27.5. They have guided tours included as part of this ticket and they help you with the history and understanding the structure how the castle evolved over years. Nothing but a typically guided tour at a heritage site. The guides are called the Yeoman Warders who are also popularly known as beefeaters.
However, this guided tour doesn't include you tour to the Crown jewels, which is the most worthy attraction of this site, and there is a separate queue for this. To view the Crown Jewels, it usually takes an hour keeping in mind the queue. Another major attraction here is the White Tower, where all the British Armoury is in display.
I would suggest not to take the guided tour if you are not very much interested in the history of the tower. There are recorded guides which you can pick and they will help you save time as well.
