The tower itself is amazing. It's a bit of the ancient world tucked into a modern city. I found the guided tours unnecessary. The only thing the tour had that I couldn't get by walking around and reading the signs was a handful of sexist jokes. I also found the crown jewels bit underwhelming. The jewels themselves are very shiny and impressive, yes, but you have to go through room after room rewatching videos of the Queen's coronation, and see every piece of flatware and China she's ever owned first, at a pace set by the crowd. Despite what the yeoman think, I am minimally interested in staring at shiny rocks, and being trapped in the building for an hour was way, way too long.

Another great icon of London and a Mecca for tourists, no queues when I went although busy inside. It is quite expensive to get in but worth it. Full of history especially around the Tudor times of London. Traitor gate where the traitors were brought in by boat and you can walk around the edge of the castle and turrets. Also can see the Crown Jewels but that is s long queue. Well worth the visit and great for the kids.

A must when visiting London, especially if you want to see some of the torture devices used way back when, an interesting memorial, the armoury which interestingly features a dragon...and the Crown Jewels, of course, so that you can gawk More

Amazing attraction . Free guided tour which was entertaining itself. Thanks to David. You can literally be here all day and not see everything. Really this is an attraction for all ages and stages!

Great place to visit took grandaughter she loved it lots of interesting things to see and hear about plus seeing the crown jewels

Do the ceremony of the Keys, Tower of London. Really amazing evening, beefeater yeoman guide just superb and funny whole place feels like England and our history proper great tour. When they play last post in the dark gave me goosebumps. Cheap bar great beer .a must max points

Didn't go inside the tower to explore but just view from the outside. It looks amazing and lots of history behind this fortress.

It was fun, that is a nice tourist place to visit, and see the culture in early ages, also the Queens Jewels was nice to see there.

Crown jewels were awesome! Narrator was hilarious and informative. Bloody tower interesting to explore. Fun family experience... a highlight of London.

School trip with primary aged children. Was a fantastic day out despite the weather. Lots of history here however be careful with a lot of walking around if you are wheelchair bound due to spiral staircases . Prices high and long waiting More

Great! Needs a week to properly explore so give it at least a full day if you can't spare any more. Beefeaters very friendly

Be prepared to spend a whole day here. Located in the heart of London near some of the other major tourist attractions. Line up for tickets can take a while so best go early. Underground tube station is nearby as well as many bus stations. Once inside you have the option of self exploring or they have mini guides you can join. Tons of events happening for kids too like knight training. At least 3 different restaurants are nearby with a cafe located just along the riverside of the tower. Not recommended for people in wheelchairs as there are no elevators. Crown jewel collection is super impressive but can be up to 45 min wait time to gain entrance. Overall a super interesting place for history lovers and tourists alike.

Absolutely great value and good time. Excellent exhibits and we didn't even get to the crown jewels which is meant to be one of the best. Go at your own pace, stop for lunch or coffee. Everything top rate

We did a tour of Tower of London and it was fantastic. It's worth doing a tour where you can get in before the official opening. There is a lot to see. It's a must-see when visiting London.

Spend at least 1 to 2 hours or more to visit here for the historical information. Don't miss ER castle section if you want to know the secret of crown.

Amazing day out with family, my nephew who was 7 had a great time with the this place and the staff in the tower. The really know who to entertain and are very friendly. We would definitely recommend for families and tourists as there s so much history to learn from this city

Visited for the WW1 centenary exhibition for the flames in the moat. It was very moving and a wonderful experience together with so many people.

Great place to visit, full of history and emotions. I didn't go see the jewels of the Queen as the line was too long. I recommend the audio guide so you can visit at your own pace.

Ceremony of the keys was fascinating, informative and delivered by the yeoman in an outstanding manner!

Amazing ancient castle. Top of the list of things you shouldn't miss in London!

Great place to visit. Really educational. Lots of different areas to see. Activity fun on for families, children and parents alike. Leave plenty of time for picking up tickets as the queues are long. Best to print of tickets before going. When booking online there was no choice for selecting free carer. But ask at the kiosks and if you have proof of disability and they will charge appropriately or refund you if it is already paid.
It is a bit pricey but it is well worth the money.
Easy to get to using the tube, so no worries about parking.

It's a tourist trap of the first order. The crown jewels will appeal, of course, to the shallow minded. I've seen them twice in my life now and still can only think of all the people in the world the British have exploited to acquire the stones. They should be a source of embarrassment but these simple-minded royalty worshipers are oblivious to the centuries of pain they've caused. The little Royal Mint side show is pretty nice. There are a few slightly entertaining bits in the Bloody Tower, but these simply illustrate the vulgar cruelty of these so-called nobles in murdering children for personal gain. Oh, and you can stand near the spot were so many of England's finest heads were separated from their respective bodies, perhaps most notably, Anne Boleyn. And if you're lucky you might yelled at by a fat, arrogant Yeoman for looking up a path marked private.

All in all, an expensive afternoon with not much to show for it. But that might be expected from the once Great Britain that is now Little England.

This place is huge and it's hard to believe that it's been around for hundreds of years. There's a moat and marches happening. There's also Beefeaters In full outfit who stay in character but allow you to take photographs with you and them. Or you can pretend to kiss their cheek whilst your husband takes a cute picture.

Go early in the morning when it first opens to avoid the worst crowds. Great views of the Tower Bridge and River Thames from the walls of the castle. The courtyard with the private houses looks very pretty especially on a sunny day.

Fantastic place to visit. History under your feet, Crown jewels are awesome, even the graffiti done by the prisoners is something amazing to see.

It was jam packed with things to do. I highly recommend that you join one of the tours by the beef eaters to make the most of your visit. You'll learn a lot and have a bit of a laugh too. If your a civil servant you'll get in for free with a membership to CSSC!

Tower of London is where we can learn the darkest sides of the history of the United Kingdom before it even was a United Kingdom. Very well organized site, great buffet restaurant. You can take the free tour with a Beefeater teaching a fun history lesson. Personnel are friendly and approachable even though they may appear full of Pomp and Circumstance. Do not miss it!

It is an amazing castle complex, the Tower of London. Really interesting history and views from every angle.. Despite there being so many people you could still admire every aspect easily.. Definitely worth it to check it out

An amazing visit coupled with entertaining Beefeater guides who have such a wealth of knowledge. Refreshments were great & competitively priced.

The guides 'Beefeaters' are amazing, but be ready to hear alot of names and dates and (fun) facts. Do take your time though there is a lot to see and read come earlier and go easy.

One of the best places in London. I suggest you to come early in order to avoid queues, especially if you want to see the crown's jewels.

Not cheap to get in, but so much to see! You can easily spend a day there if you're not with impatient kids Expect to line up for some time to see crown jewels but worth the wait, I recommend " London pass" if your around for more than a day, you will save money.

The mystique and beauty of the diamonds and precious jewels in the royal regalia have always held an unparalleled allure to visitors from across the globe.

Used to go here all the time as a kid growing up in the East End and found it a magical place. That was before the IRA bomb and you could touch most of the exhibits. Now days a lot has changed. The stuff is mainly behind glass but it's far from stale and stuffy, they have interactive exhibits for the kids, recreations of the animals that used to be kept there, free walking tours with a Beefeater and even a travelator in the jewel room to let people see the jewels without holding up the line. Took my son there for his first time and he loved it. He especially liked the tour with the Yeoman Warder Shaky, laughing heartily at his jokes! Top place to visit

Superb time at this iconic place. The yeoman warden tour was just brilliant and should not be missed. Overall a really good day out fr all the family. Only criticism is the food and drink in the cafe is well overpriced.

Queues queues and queues everywhere. Even after booking tickets online it took 30 minutes to collect from the counter. I am sure the history behind this place is great but when you are surrounded by 100 s of people in a tiny room you can hardly see anything. The folks running this place should do a bit of crowd control rather than Just admitting thousands of people at once and you get to do nothing.

My favorite tourist spot in London! If you're visiting, make sure you stop here. We've been 3 times and we've been here twice. I wish we had gone the one time we didn't...but time didn't allow it.

Very cool place, the White Tower holds an impressive armoury, the crown jewels are amazing and the site has a great view of the city. And as a bonus, they have a good gift shop. Just watch out for the Ravens!

Amazing place to spend 3 or 4 hours wandering around. We took the Yeoman tour which was excellent. The chap was funny and gave great insight into the history of the place. Superb pictures to be taken everywhere especially on the wall closest to the Thames and Tower Bridge. The queue for the Crown Jewels was 45 minutes. We saw them at the end of our time there, maybe should have done that straight after the Yeoman tour.

Very cool piece of history. The Beef Eaters give an excellent tour. The Crown Jewels are very cool to see. Definitely worth a trip.

Wondeful place for taking visitors to London, very informative in so many languages and talks throughout. Having trouble walking assistance with getting around is provided by your guides and being able to find easier ways to get up and down steps. There are seats all around inside and despite not being able to walk everywhere was able to see a lot of the tower of London. I would not recommend if you cannot do any steps but if like me you have problems rest plenty and take advantage of the seats and benches.

If you like queuing for everything is your place. Queue for the Crown Jewels was approximately was 40 minutes. Very touristy locality with various eateries around .

A must visit , great historical significant piece of architecture. Do buy tickets to go inside, as starring at it from outside just won't do!

Great place to visit if you are into your London/English history - plenty to learn and do for the kids too, although it is fairly pricey to get in... All in all, a worthwhile day out!

Loved every moment of this visit, you should take around 4/5 hours or half a day to totally enjoy, the treasury, the royal chapel, the museum and restaurant, i did not particularly like the fish and chips restaurant offer, but overall the experience was one of a kind

Spectacular property. It would be SO MUCH BETTER if visitors could be given a number when they entered to see the crown jewels, so that so many hours weren't wasted standing in the queue.

How could you not love this place? Wonderful 1000 years of history, well told in lots of ways. Something for all ages to enjoy.

This was part of day tour and we had no idea how mesmerised and dumbstruck we would be after the visit . Definitely in our check list for our next visit since we could not cover everything .The Yeoman wardens can be the loudest in all of London . However they are informative and hilarious the way they present a thousand year history of this place .Give this place a good 3-4 hours and you will not be disappointed .If you are a little short of time then do the Crown Jewels and white tower for sure . The Crown Jewels are the main attraction and the longest queue are here . However they move faster than you expect and are worth every second in the queue . Week days are recommended since it will be a little less crowded .

A great place to go rain or shine. Question to see the crown jewels. Listen to the Beefeater guides about the history of a Norman political prison. Often has special events especially about WW1 & WW2 etc. Read up about it before you go for a more informed experience.

Fascinating place to visit! History back to 1100A.D. Also the jewels for the coronations displayed.

Beautiful and well preserved British landmark but the admittance price is quite steep.

Beautiful Castle! Lots of different buildings and artifacts to visit. Be aware that is not stroller friendly since there are many stairs to climb. Caring 2 years old up and down was not fun and easy. But if you are visiting with no toddler then there are a lot to see.

This was my favorite part of london! i went early and was able to see everything, i wasnt able to stay when they were drawing the bridge. but its so cool. they also have rooms where you stop to learn more about how the bridge was built.

The tickets are a bit pricey considering that you think you'll get to see the crown jewels when they're just replicas. But apart from that the history of the tower is very well documented and has several activities for all ages. Very good place to spend a few hours.

Amazing place of history to visit. Expect queues during the weekends and holidays bit they are fast moving. Loved the cheeky Ravens we met porche and merlina. Now Ann Boleyn is also back... a very lovely way to show her history enactment on the lawn. Without saying the Yeoman are amazing and always there to guide you, give advice or welcome you to be photographed with... selfies probably not very respectful however.

A great day out, despite being a local and walking past every weekend I'd never been, so glad I did. It's also ran by a great charity called 'Historic Royal Palaces' who upkeep some of the most important parts of British history. Had the guided talk by a Yeoman, Gary, he was very funny and delivered everything very well. Super enjoyable.

so interesting to see all the history, you need about 3-5 hours there just to see it all, don't forget the white tower!! and definitely go on a beefeater tour!!
