A great cinema. A but more expensive than the mainstream cinema but worth it. Snacks and drinks are overpriced.

One of my favourite places. A real diamond in the rough that is Newcastle. Although, disappointingly but not surprisingly, now caters to the uncultured and the cafe attracts A lot of Guardian readers
Brilliant wee place. If you want to see a great movie go here. Same price as any other cinema but comfier and much more fun.
Makes going to the cinema special again. Wonderful quality, friendly service. I wish I could watch every film here.
Love the 2-seater sofas, with wine holder, in the Circle of the Classic cinema
Business portrayed as charity.
Must be rolling in it.
Service and showing, fine.
Four quid for a mini bag of nuts!
Visited for a free tour. Amazing history, atmosphere and passionate staff. I will always come here to see the latest movies in the comfy, small and cozy theatres.
Lovely to sit outside with a glass of the most expensive wine on the planet, and watch the world go by....
Comfortable and cosy place to go when something good is showing!
Popped in with my wife and kids for a drink in December after the Xmas market. Sound little bar and child-friendly. Special mention to the barman called Tommy - Good conversation and very helpful as I was on crutches. Would definitely recommend.
Cosy indie cinema. Expensive but a very nice experience. Would recommend as a treat
So much character and atmosphere. This is the best cinema in the north east. Comfy seats with lots of leg room. Quirky films and knowledgeable staff. A trip to the cinema here is a experience everyone must have.
Good film but sound quality sould be better. Quite expensive cinema but good range of movies.
Fairly varied range of drinks with good selection of food.
Great cinema, very cool and mature crowd. Good for avoiding loud kids. Bit pricey but worth it imo.
The cinema itself is a wonderful place. The cafe on the ground floor less so, sadly. Overpriced coffee - they didn't even have cinnamon or cocoa powder to dust the froth on the coffee, and the staff seemed not to care much. The various cinemas are well maintained and comfortable.
Real gem, first visit and certainly won't be last. Got it all for your entertainment in one venue. Staff first class.
This film house has everything and great staff too.
Best place to watch films without a shadow of doubt. Eat your heart out Odeon
Love this cinema however I do recommend avoiding The Gallery in here. All other cinemas are beautiful and a unique experience to watch independent and modern films.
THIS SILVER SCREEN FILM WAS FABULOUS - ASSUMED I KNEW A LITTLE ABT THIS PAINTER - TURNS OUT I KNOW NOTHING
Great films, good food and drink. Best cinema in Newcastle
Hands down the best independent cinema. Most recently visited for our annual watching of It's A Wonderful Life. The staff are very friendly.
Beautiful building, good bar and cafe. Also, the best cinema in Newcastle
Love coming to Access cinema on Sunday's its a relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff
Just went for meal at the restaurant, very nice indeed,a bit expensive but nice.
Haven't been in a while and forgot how lovely this theatre is. Such a friendly atmosphere and very comfortable seats. Had to tell my husband not to fall asleep! Will definitely return.
Laid back cinema. Get to see old classics and new films.
A gem. Good food and drink in a historic working independent cinema.
Great selection of food and drinks served by really friendly staff. Great place to visit.
Tyneside Cinema isn't your regular cinema fix. It's an authentic experience. I love how they cover a wide range of cultures showing movies from all over the world.
Have been there many times, always a pleasure. It has a very relaxed atmosphere. No doubt will be there again
Absolutely amazing. Brilliantly restored auditorium and great contemporary screens too. While they don't have all the latest releases do to lack of screens, they have a fantastic array of artistic works and classic movie screenings.
Three separate venues for food, drinks and coffee (great coffee) and lots of old cinema equipment to look at.
A must see.
A wonderful cinema which caters to a variety of people, has different styles of film view rooms (e.g. the "classical" screening room is the most old fashioned and has a curtain), and the the cinema has a range of indie and mainstream films on offer. The staff are helpful and the range of drinks is good (including vegan ice creams and alcoholic beverages).
Amazing cinema, cool bar and cafe, comfy chairs, great sound, amazing selection of film (and a brilliant membership programme for young people)
A classic cinema, with history and a heartbeat. A friendly, interesting place with wonderful events, a diverse community - a Newcastle institution. Visitors (and locals) should check out the free tours and news reels, date night couples the leather couches upstairs in the Classic.
Great venue and good staff an all round good experience
You can buy small bottles of prosecco and the sweet popcorn in the clear packet is really nice
Fabulous for films, drinks, coffee etc. The only problem is that is too crowded! Yet my fave
I've always loved going to this place..it's more of a unique experience than anything else..yes the BIG cinemas are nice but this always feels homely with ice cream being served at the front how it used to be
Not too impressed with the cafe upstairs with frozen fish and hard chips. It's definitely not as good as it used to be
Always a delight to see a film here; as well as being really nicely fitted out and generally just a nice place to be, it's a real part of the local community. Treasured.
Love visiting this cinema. Reasonably priced, comfy seats, food and drinks can be bought in the screening up until the trailers begin. Really nice bar and cafe to visit before and/or after the film as well.
Somewhere you can sit and enjoy a film without the back of your chair being kicked or popcorn being thrown to the back of your head
We did kids club on a Sat morning and my little girl loved it. If you have a young one and your looking to introduce them to the cinema then this was perfect friendly staff well worth a try
I love the Tyneside. Art Deco building. Arthouse cinema. If you think you're a 'somebody',you'll meet like-minded types there or,if like me,you just love films and enjoy watching them in fine surroundings, then the Tyneside is the place to be.
Probably the best cinema in the North East. Fantastic kiosks, downstairs bar and coffee shop, with upstairs tea rooms and three screens, including The Classic which has sofa seats for two available. Always a brilliant experience.
Last of the classic cinema's on Tyneside, making the movie experience the big event it should be. Plus great food and drink before or afterwards in the Bar Cafe.
Was good
Even though woman on reception very unhelpful
For directions to lift and screen
Great place to eat and drink. Plenty of choice and really friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
My favourite environment for film viewing either alone or with friends. Each screen environment has its own personality & you feel that its marketed for the cinema public by people who care about all walks of life. It's not just a cinema business, it's an essential part of the community.
For me is the best tourist spot with 8 decades of open doors (1937) that makes for this cinema the heritage heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.
It's the ideal place to interact with family, friends and the multicultural community of this rich and beloved City.
The cinema has good acoustics and very comfortable seats to enjoy the diversity films for all tastes and trends.
Why?
Well, hehehe, the cinema have some great spots such as the 4 auditoriums, meeting rooms and three cafes on site, definitely Tyne side Cinema is a wonderful cultural space and an inter-social and multicultural destination for who wants to be part of the soul of their city they live in or gracing us with their touristic visit.
And so what's?
Well, I could say that The cinema acted as a theater and newsreel in his youngest age and today's function acts as a cinema that offers a rich and diverse artistic program of films, exhibitions and events in artistic films, and cinematographic heritage - film projection programs, movie theater and live events AND IT IS FOR ALL AFES AND LIFESTYLES.
EXPECTING SEE YOU THERE, FIND ME IN THE CAFE.
MY NAME IS MIGUEL. LETS CHAT AND NOW MORE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR CULTURAL.
Have been here to see films and for foods and drinks. The food is great, bistro style with decent ales on draught and lots of cinema culture themed paraphernalia dotted about. The cinemas are very quirky, old-fashioned and with comfortable chairs. This is a true cinema-lovers cinema and has all of the charm that it's chain counterparts lack.
Excellent little cinema, always showing a more interesting selection of films than the multiplex. Comfortable and with decent facilities, including a lovely cafe.
Absolutely brilliant cinema. For adults. Lovely art deco, great sound and screens, "old fashioned" proper cinema, good staff.
Great little cinema for a night out. Probably not best for the Marvel blockbuster but you can have a drink and tasty meal in the Cafe first and take a drink in if you like. It's not limited to obscure films at all but they are just the right amount of selective.
Would be higher but they allow noisy smelly food into the cinema ... if I wanted that would go to the Gate!
