I recently used a community program and had an excellent experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the program provided me with the support I needed. I would definitely recommend them.

To be honest the county/medi-cal mental health services more often than not turn into massive disappointments, Turning Point is no exception. Unfortunately, everyone needs a job and a paycheck and you will find the majority of these people are here for just that. The tragic truth is, if you don't have money to bypass these waste-basket county services and enter private practice you're basically screwed and will not get the kind of mental health support you actually need. These guys just got $380,000 from the county to reach out to the Tent City residents under the 9th st bridge and provide mental health services, but I have a really hard time believing anything fruitful will actually come of this use of funds. These county services are of little to no value as far as getting true assistance with mental health and homelessness. For $380,000 you could actually solve homelessness by building or buying small trailers or houses instead of paying one-time agencies like Turning Point to go out there and give people the runaround with referrals to other agencies who usually end up shuffling you around back and forth between different services like a game of hot potato. As someone that has been involved with these kinds of programs for years as a client, I'm pretty confident in this assessment. Good luck out there folks.

Called to ask about the Anxiety and Depression Counseling they talk about not only on their website but on their Advertisement only to be told that they actually can't help me, and that it would take a few HOURS to get back to me on "some way they MIGHT be able to help". No point in claiming you do something to turn people away. I want others to know the experience I literally just had dealing with them and want to warn others that might also be suicidialy depressed and seeking help or medical attention. These people are not the ones to go to. Find somewhere better which is what I am trying to do right now.

Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They change your doctor every appointment without warning. You can't make any progress because every doctor appointment is spent getting to know your new doctor without any follow ups. If there's a problem and you need to call your case worker, your call will go straight to her 'Im sorry I'm on Christmas Vacation' answering machine even though it's in the middle of July. If you do manage to get ahold of the receptionist, it wouldnt matter because they don't keep a good record of your case. Turning Point should only be used for desperate situations while searching for another health clinic.

Incompetent! 0/5 if I could!

Incompetent! 0/5 if I could!
Absolute joke and abusive to people who are reaching for help during a pandemic!

They made my husband wait over a month for intake only to have 2 other random patients be on the call and forced them to say their first and last name, personal phone number, if they registered to vote and disclosed who each patient was going to be working with!!!!!

That is a clear violation of confidentiality!

They NEVER informed him that his SCHEDULED appointment would be shared with two strangers!
What was the point on making him wait over a month if calls are shared anyways?

Oh, and good luck trying to get anyone to take accountability since apparently no one works with anyone in this mess they call mental health services, but they also lie through their teeth after ignoring a simple question...."Why wasn't my husband informed that it would be a shared call?"

The answer, in case you are wondering, is because COVID.....yep the breach of confidentiality is because of Coronavirus. Wow. Just wow, make us wait over a month so two random people can now know that my husband is working with so and so and here's his number!

On top of that nonsense they read him incomplete rights AND called him Stacy!!!!

Who the hell is STACY?! How do yo screw that up!

As far as I'm concerned this place needs to quietly go out of business so they can't do anymore damage.

I rather listen to an unedited, uncut 15 minute Nickleback song than deal with with confusingly low intelligence of these "people".

Oh and FYI, DON'T bother trying to talk with a Supervisor. She'll hang up on you!
