To be honest the county/medi-cal mental health ser...

To be honest the county/medi-cal mental health services more often than not turn into massive disappointments, Turning Point is no exception. Unfortunately, everyone needs a job and a paycheck and you will find the majority of these people are here for just that. The tragic truth is, if you don't have money to bypass these waste-basket county services and enter private practice you're basically screwed and will not get the kind of mental health support you actually need. These guys just got $380,000 from the county to reach out to the Tent City residents under the 9th st bridge and provide mental health services, but I have a really hard time believing anything fruitful will actually come of this use of funds. These county services are of little to no value as far as getting true assistance with mental health and homelessness. For $380,000 you could actually solve homelessness by building or buying small trailers or houses instead of paying one-time agencies like Turning Point to go out there and give people the runaround with referrals to other agencies who usually end up shuffling you around back and forth between different services like a game of hot potato. As someone that has been involved with these kinds of programs for years as a client, I'm pretty confident in this assessment. Good luck out there folks.
