The food they offer is quite unique and a rare find on a Sunday morning. Service was excellent. The coffee however I did not enjoy as much unfortunately. Nevertheless if given the opportunity I ll come back again!

'Steam Punk' is the vibe and the place is rarely slow or quiet. Funky, friendly staff - including a charming doorman - and many visual delights aim to entertain as you sip coffees and craft beers...and eat a god variety of foods.

Had to call a waiter to order, to get something after having the coffee and to get the bill.
Wasn't asked once if everything is okay or if you want anything, manager is the only one that really goes out of his way to service the clients most of the waitrons don't seem very friendly or helpful even when spoken to.
It is a very unique coffee roastery. They offer so high quality coffees. Given a chance to me, I am willing to have a coffee time at Truth coffee again. You are recommended to go experience their high quality coffee.
A cafe for coffee connoisseurs rather than someone wanting just a cup of coffee. Very interesting style to the place, bursting with coffee history and expertise. The staff know exactly what they are talking about and were kind to help us with recommendations. It took a while to be served our coffee which was a shame considering most orders were espressos. I would say it s like fine dining for coffee, not a place to necessarily chill out in a cosy environment.
One of the coolest coffee shops I have been to. Awesome selection of coffees, great food and the service is fantastic. Guys even remembered me from the previous day. Coolest decor!

The waiter was not very good. The coffee was cold, when I ask him to warm it he said its agains policy. Only when I said I dont want the coffee, did he bring warm one. He offered no sugar we had to ask twice and then he brought saches by hand and put the loose saches on the table. Coffe good service bad

Great coffee can be found here. Don't be intimidated by the waitstaff in steampunk costumes and just go in and enjoy a cup of really good espresso.
Breakfast meals there are also very good. The Benedict was generous and delicious. Lunch portions are also very generous. Portion and price makes Truth a very good value overall.

The place is really vibrant. Food is Delicious we tried Shakshuka, flat white and espresso.

This is a very old-fashioned coffee shop. The old equipment is well maintained and still working.

So the truth about Truth is this. They have become so popular and busy that to be the average Joe or the unhip tourist, you become invisible. We arroved, no one greeted us. Eventually a waiter came and asked if we had a reservation. We did not so we were given a table in a dark corner. The restaurant was busy when we arrived however when people left and there was plenty of space. We asked to move to a more comfortable table and was denied.
Mabey it was because it was busy but the waiters gave us zero attention.
No on to the food. We ordered a cold brew and drip coffee. The cold brew came in prepacked bottle and was very average. The drip brew was just a plastic filter. No theatrics or pazazz.
We then ordered the Crouque Monsieur. Thank you for giving me R135 sasko Sam Bread. The whole thing was soggy. Unacceptable. I paid extra R40 for the bacon.
Oh while I write this review the mother with 3 kids just stood up and left because no one has helped her in 20 minutes.
The vibe, staff and coffee was amazing. The desserts was epic and not too expensive.

If you are a lover of good coffee, this place is a must in Cape Town. Very good industrial / vintage type decoration, employees originally dressed and excellent coffee and other products ... I highlight the dulce de leche cheese cake and the brownie. Very good hot chocolate too

Dang TC used to be the jam. I went back after being encouraged to try it again from my last horrible service experience and it was the same staff, in the same positions, with the same bad service. Now I m told that they don t honour their old coffee cards, that s fine, I know I used to be a Truth OG so why not honour them and then be like but these are no more. Just bad, unmotivated staff, clearly just there for the paycheck, not for the coffee. Coffee was also watered down in a black americano. It s not like how it used to be. Go to Jason s across the street now.

Amazing steam punk themed coffee shop, one the most well delivered theme I have ever seen in a restaurant. Great service with a friendly attitude. Strong artisanal coffee with a large variety of options. Food is good too, only negative opinion was that the portions were a bit small.

Best eggs benedict I've had in years. Also, not voted the best coffee in the world for nothing. If you like it strong, go for the Deep, Dark and Twisted roast. Delicious.

The coffee is quit strong, i had to pour in a lot of sugar and milk so i could handle it. I guess it has its audience. I did like their setup though.
Probably the best breakfast and coffee place in Cape Town. Truth is on the must list when in South Africa. Been there several times and it's always been great.
Everything's themed "steam punk" which creates a very special atmosphere. Everyone's super friendly and even more interestingly dressed individually matching the theme.
The place is located in an old factory building and thus is very charming and spacious.
The coffee is superb and the food excellent. Can highly recommend the 'Shakshouka' the 'eggs but not as you know it' as well as the 'croque madame'!

Fun interiors, full on steampunk. But the service is so and so. Staff seems too busy with talking to each other and being cool to pay attention to the customers. Had to ask the waiter three times for one of our orders.
The coffee is great and the desserts are good, but main dish was so salt that it was impossible to even finish half of it.
Considering the fairly hefty price-range, both service and food should have been much better. Would not recommend.
