This is the best hotel in NYC! The doormen are so kind and friendly. We gave them a box of Krispy Kreme because they were so kind! I would come back to NYC just to stay here and to talk to the doormen!
Terrible service. I feel like the staff just doesn't care. I have to ask them multiple times for anything, then they show up at 10pm at my door. I would never stay here again.
Stayed for a wedding. Great location if you want to be downtown. Large room with nice view and 2nd floor lobby for lounging or drinking. Common areas kept dark to maintain vibe. Service can be iffy. Express checkout didn't work.
My favorite hotel. Everything is great, starting from friendly concierge and up to the room. Very comfortable beds and awesome atmosphere at the Lobby bar
I love going there for a drink. Such a laid back cozy spot
Great location for a night out. Bar in the hotel was ideal for a couple of cocktails, and coffee in the morning. Great decor. Comfy bed.
Great hotel in an amazing location. Really nice decor, friendly & helpful staff, nice little touches like fresh apples in the lobby every day and headphones in the 24 hour fitness centre. I'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Beautiful hotel and pooches loved the dog park, too!!
Very nice hotel with tasteful decore, but quite expensive. We stayed in a corner king room, which had good views towards Midtown, although it was not as spacious as I thought it might be. The bar/restaurant was also very nice, but it has more of a nightclub vibe at night, which might not be for everyone. Location is good, close to the SoHo shopping district and about a 50 minute walk to Midtown.
A lot of little things that added up. We booked a promo that included late check out, but were not informed that the valet would charge a whole additional day charge for anything over 24 hrs. We ended up paying $75 extra for 30 min of extra parking time. Should have been informed, since they knew we were valeting. Room keys did not work upon check in. Room service just unlocked our door and started walking in and it was the wrong room
( we didn t order anything). Breakfast order was incorrect. And upon check out we were charged for breakfast (which was included in our promo) , thank goodness I read the receipt. We were also not informed on how the elevator worked ( apparently you have to scan your key in order for it to go beyond the third floor). Not sure we will be staying here again. Shame cause it s a beautiful hotel . Contacted them regarding issues, and never heard back.
There for a social event, the bar staff and service was great and the music by the DJ made it a great night of dancing, food and drinks.
Nice place, rooms with all amenities and very helping staff
It a nice hotel for the mood , for the service and the kids crew that try to be as nice as possible and they are really nice . I have been upgrade to a corner room . But but but . The rooms condition is poor . And it seems this hotel needs to be refresh as soon as possible .
Bad serivce in the restaurant but the food is fine.
The room is old and not enough lighting...
But the location is good
I loved the vibes of the Soho Grand Hotel. Great design and appeal. Wasn't a fan of the music in the bar/lounge room, at least not for dancing.
Attended a social event at the hotel. Dj was good, and staff were very quick to help with any requests. The event was pretty packed, but it was a nice atmosphere.
Great location for a hotel being right at canal street next to tons of touristy areas like Little Italy and China town but not to mention all the shopping and restaurants. Several subway stations within a block or two. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the rooms chic. Love it.
Great hotel pretty affordable and rooms are clean and littler free. Prices are decent about 260 a night. I was stay in their penthouse so of course that would be more money. Inside was rustic with brick walls pretty old school but wonderful. Kids friendly and free wifi. The out door patio with beach chairs are nice and comfortable. Overall great experience and love this hotel for their luxurious penthouse.
Fantastic upscale hotel. Check-in requires you to go up a flight of stairs (I didn't realize this when I got there) and the restaurant is a little over priced, but the cocktails and drinks are great. Room service is also fantastic. Would definitely recommend, given its location, decor and professionalism of the staff.
Environment is a little fratty, but good drinks and OK music most nights.
Love the misters at Gilligan's and the foliage is fabulous!
Swanky fun place, helpful front desk, really neat rooms. I literally took pictures to remodel my bathroom after the room I stayed in. One minor complaint was the cave theme in the lobby... feel free to turn on a lamp or something.
I can say that it wasn't the best hotel . But I personally liked it.
Quant with a classic theme well decorated rooms and friendly staff.
Great rooms , Great services and good food i enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Highly recommended.
An older building, with once charming features starting to wear out. The room is of reasonable size, probably perfect for tourists.
The service seems to be a-OK. Brought the requested iron in less than 5 minutes. The breakfast though was late 5 minutes past the 20 min delivery window.
Not suitable for a business trip at all. The only desk is copper-top, wrists are instantly uncomfortably cold. The chair is way too low for computer work. To access power outlets one has to crawl behind the desk. Only one outlet is available - unplug the desk lamp if you need the second one. WiFi internet access is included and has mediocre speed.
Minibar is well stocked but useless because of ridiculous prices. Half-bottle El-Coto Rioja Rose $26 - the rest is similar. No in-room tea or coffee maker.
Next time will look for another option to stay in NY.
The location was great and the staff members were professional and ready to help and answer any concerns the guest had.
Honestly, if its wasn't for the location, this would be a sub-par hotel in the rest of the US. I (or rather an agent for a company I was visiting did) booked a trip for two nights. After I arrived they *actually* told me not to get too comfortable the first night, and to not unpack my things because they'd be moving me to a new room the next day.. Their explanation -- they didn't have enough rooms so they were upgrading me for the night and where then moving me back to a regular room the next night. The way I saw it, they were downgrading me for the second night for *their* own convenience.
I opened a small bottle of wine from their bar the first night and only had a glass from it (a Pinot not to write home about). When I came back from my business trip at the end of the first day, they had moved my possessions to a different room. But they hadn't moved my mostly unconsumed bottle of wine ($38 for a mediocre half bottle of Pinot). I spoke to the check-in desk when I arrived, asking if they had moved my stuff and if they had also moved my mostly unconsumed bottle of wine. I received a knowing smile in return and they did not even discuss the details. Their question -- did you label the bottle for moving ?
Oh, I should also mention cause this might be amusing to some -- I asked for "toothbrush stuff" in the first morning and they literally brought me just a tooth brush, not toothpaste etc.. so if you' without a toothpaste make sure to make the ask specific -- don't expect them to think for you.
So, in summary, its generally a marginally OK hotel. Service levels -- meh / blah at best... Multiple people in NYC have told me it is a decent hotel, but it seems their assessment is generally based on the lounge in the hotel, not on the rooms in the hotel itself since they have never actually stayed there :). Take a look at the reviews for the hotel below and you'll probably also find that the high ratings are generally from people taking about the lounge in the hotel, and not the hotel in itself....
Great hotel!!! Very classy and Hollywood vibe upon entering. You are greated warmly while they open the doors to the hotel. The bar is classy and stocked with high end drinks. Very chic hotel. Would highly recommend.
Great location. Close to everything Soho has to offer. Rooms and amenities were spectacular. Highly recommended.
Fantastic service, but recognize at the front desk when others needs can be assessed. Was waiting for about 10 mins while 2 other Soho employees helped 2 other couples who were clearly just looking for connected perfect rooms. This is totally okay, but it took up too many reception folks tot do so
The hotel decor was unique. I didn't stay overnight but it was clean and neat.
The room was awesome and the service was exceptional. It is in a convenient part of NY where you can find both affordable aces to eat and more expensive places depending on what you want. I loved the atmosphere so I would recommend. The pricing for the room, considering how nice it was, is very affordable. Highly recommend!!!!! Oh yea and the room has 65 inch smart TV if you want to stay in.
Had dinner and drinks in the Grand Salon. Loved the atmosphere and vibe. Cool place for a nice dinner
This hotel is a disaster from a customer service standpoint! The concierge was terribly put out to have a hotel guest in front of her requesting information about recommended restaurants and city happenings...it interrupted her personal More
Nice hotel in walking distance of the world trade center location. Lots of Italian restaurants near the hotel. I am in a corner hotel room and it is clean and surprisingly spacious.
Staff has been very friendly so far, too.
perfect location , all the staff is very client oriented,
the concierge team is an extraordinary added value for this good hotel.
I was only there for a short period of time, but it was beautiful and we'll staffed
Beautiful hotel situated in the heart of Soho: convenient access to Chinatown and subway.
Just had a couple of drinks, but the staff was very attentive and knew how to make a heck of an Old Fashioned.
Great staff, food, and drinks. Had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel. Love that they allow dogs. Would definitely stay here again.
Cool, comfortable and fun. Bar great for final nightcap before heading up to bed
Great place Beautiful space. Cleaned rooms and good staff.
The best hotel in the soho area. I have a business in the neighborhood. Brian Cooke from sales always takes very good care of my clients. He s my go-to guy for all sales and service needs. Hotel is very conviently located in the heart of soho, filled with great amenities. Check them out ASK FOR BRIAN COOKE!
I would say this is a five star hotel! This place is awesome I stayed at 6 different hotels. By far this was my favorite all we're Leaps and Bounds better than the Trump Hotel and most were cheaper. This one had the friendliest staff so it gets 5 stars.
Good location and good service. Rooms are very small and old. Not sure how they have 4.5 stars. Feels like a 4 star hotel...
Room and service were excellent. Bar can be loud at night so request a higher floor if that is an issue.
The lounge was great, nice vibe and ambiance. There DJ was amazing, and they make an amazing old fashioned.
Pet friendly beautiful lounge great rooms all great highly recommended it
The lobby area is very nice, and the furniture placed in the rooms is modern and nice too. However, the rooms and hallways themselves felt dated - thick carpeting, dim lighting, and worst of all: an old, noisy and inefficient AC unit below the window that struggled to keep the room cool.
Do bear in mind that I booked through a Hotwire Hot Deal (knowing this was the specific hotel, however), and that we were placed in a Queen room. Perhaps a discount booking gets an inferior room.
The rooms are small enough for two people and the storage is still quite limited but the location and design gives them a little more.
Regarding the service, several omissions including the roomservice with orders missed or late, however the staff is attentive and quick to respond to the request.
Regarding the catering, there are quite a variety of choices overall and the meals are excellent, just a small lack of choice at breakfast (personal opinion). Pretty satisfied overall.
We got a room for one night and we loved it. The ambience of the hotel is great, everything very original and modern, even the staff's attire is in tune with the hotel decoration. The best thing about the room was the bed. The hotel bar also we liked a lot and was very lively at night, it even seemed that there were people entering the bar.
