Always good, in De Jaren. Quality lunch dishes very good, sometimes pleasantly surprising (coconut in the light cucumber dressing). Service nice, not always accurate.

Excellent meal. Good service. Had a table outside on balcony overlooking the river. Can also sit downstairs by the canal. Great view! Excellent fish stew and roasted veg salad.

Operation was prudish and slow and the menu was very brief.

Unkind staff. Left after 1 beer. Deception. Unfortunately.

Good food, for an O.K. price. Only you do not have a restaurant feeling here, but a cafeteria feeling. Very loud kitchen as cafe sound from the ground floor.

Even though it's in a nice building and has a lovely terrace on the canal, service, food and wines are average.

Superb experience. The bar tender who served us was very kind, took his time to explain details of the dishes, fast service and good food!

Great food and quickly served prices are sometimes a bit on the expensive side.

I highly recommend this place for a beer or two. The terrace can be crowded but that's okay. If you're on a boat, you should do a little pit stop here.

Great place with a beautiful view on the Amsterdam canal. You can order complete breakfast in the morning hours and it is very delicious. Excellent service. There is a terrace but now in mid february it was closed.

Great steak for 20 . Staff were very friendly. Relaxing atmosphere. Great balcony in summer time. Salad was tasty as well.

Really nice cafe in the centre not full of tourists and loads of space. Drop by for a relaxed coffee and try and find a space on the terrace.

On a quiet Wednesday afternoon at the beginning of July I still have to wait 25 minutes to see a waitress at all. That is ridiculous, but it got worse. I was talking to a colleague and made a few notes on my laptop. The first thing the waitress knew to say was that I was not allowed to sit in the laptop-free zone. Which was rather stupid, since the laptop was part of the conversation (and I did not sit down for hours) and many tables were free. But also because she did not even apologize for the ridiculously slow service we told her about. She did not give a shove, and then we left. You should not encourage such arrogant behavior.

After 30 minutes of waiting no waiter came to our table! We went.

A piece of Dutch history, a bar reconstructed inch by inch as it was in the 1930s. The first gay friendly venue maybe in all of Europe. Not to be missed

We needed time to rest and a big group of ours (10) were able to sit whereas, it was already packed. The homemade ginger tea was smoothing. I definitely recommend the place for a tea time break

It was a short but nice stay with a very tasty Irish coffee.
The atmosphere and the view are great. The perfect stop during your stroll through the city. Very much recommended.

It is not like in Brazil, and everything is different and well served. Great menu.

Slow service, we were already more than 10 minutes before a waitress came by, who then also did not speak Dutch, and this while it was not very busy.

cafe de jaren is one of my favorite places in Amsterdam. They have sunny terrace and roof terrace. If it is too cold to sit outside you can settle at the big tables to reed, work and drink. The service at De Jaren is not best. The young waiters are not very client oriented.

An Amsterdam institution with a great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff - and the best terraces in the the city centre, on the Amstel at the back.

Very tasty croquettes, especially the oyster mushroom is tastier than the name suggests.

Very cozy atmosphere, beautiful environment, huge space, as well as a small catalog-a few options ... in its positives, economical for the data of the city and the excellent location. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful spot for a tea, coffee or drink, in the morning or in the evening. The hall is spacious and the tall ceiling adds to this feeling. The decor is minimal yet vintage and the choice of newspapers and magazines while you are having your breakfast or lunch or aperitief is vast. On sunny warm days the small terrace outside with a view on the canal is just adorable.

We have been coming to De Jaren for years because you can eat deliciously and there is a surprising salad bar. Operation is also very pleasant.
Weird and annoying, you have to pay for using the toilet. That costs a star!

The location of the cafe is very easy to find. And also has a beautiful view to watch. It was a quite a joy to watch the view and hanging out with your friends. I will definitely come to this place at my next time visit to Amsterdam!

Great place for nice food or a coffee in the afternoon. When going for dinner, there's a free salad buffet!

Absolutely a perfect restaurant and Bar in the center of Amsterdam. The food and drinks are really good. There is also a balcony near Canal which is really beautiful. The prices are a little bit high!

Spacious and bright cafe with a lovely terrasse over a canal junction with the Amstel. Thanks to its high ceilings, this location is constantly filled with light, quite perfect for studying/working during winter weekends! They have a wide range of magazines and newspaper in self-service, an interesting selection of soft drinks, tea and local beers. Check their soup of the month, it is usually delicious!

I've been going there for years and it was totally disappointing. The food was horrible that I left. The one good thing was a little blonde waitress who tried to fix the situation.
I'd employ a new chef during lunch hours.

Have been coming for years. A wonderful terrace on the water. Unfortunately not very large so it is quickly full. Also inside it is fine. It is a nice place to have a cup of coffee with a newspaper in the morning. Service varies a lot, sometimes you spend a very long time on dryers, even though it is not even extremely busy. There is room for improvement there.

Not too crowded, even though central location. Terrace on the water is lovely day and night, especially when not cold.
