Very frustrating, long, drawn out experience with Chris Sadler in which we were asked to pay for an appraisal (which cost over $500), and then, after going back and forth for over 2 months after our initial application we were rejected for the loan (despite having A credit). I called the office after this terrible experience and was told it was NOT protocol to have clients pay for appraisals before they are approved, and that the owner, Don P would return my call soon. As expected, I never received a call from the owner.
The team at Triangle Lending Group is simply amazing. First of all, they have access to wholesale rates, which blow away any rates you re seeing on commercials and such. Beyond the best rates, Triangle will give you a world-class experience. Mortgages are not fun, let s face it, but the Triangle team and their processors make it a fast and painless process. I refinanced my home with Scott from TLG a few months ago. I had spoken to many lenders in the area and Scott was by far the most knowledgeable, prompt, respectful, and 'not-pushy-sales' oriented person I spoke with. He also offered me a better rate than any other lenders. I had no trouble keeping my quoted rate through closing. Scott and the TLG team did their best to make the process as streamlined as possible. The best benefit for me was the even offered to come to my house for closing, which was great because at the time we had a 8 month old baby. Triangle Lending Group was a pleasure to work with and a great option if you are bargain hunting for low rates.
I took part in Trangle Groups 1% down program for first time home buyers. I was skeptical going in because a loan with 1% down, no PMI, no early payoff penalties and no re-fi restrictions after 6 months just sounds too good to be true. It's not. This is one of those rare cases where a lender is really just looking to get credit worthy applicants into their first home. Yes, you're going to pay more in APR, but the additional interest is less than what you'd pay for PMI. Use that additional monthly savings to pay extra towards your principal each month and you'll end up saving.
Besides the plan itself, I couldn't imagine a better lender to work with. Their VP of Marketing, Scott Smith, is incredibly responsive, informed and really goes beyond the requirements of the job to make sure your interests are taken care of. This is something I didn't expect. I'd expect the lender to be working solely for the lending institution, but Scott cares about his local clients and wants to see them succeed and be happy. That's how you build and grow a successful organization.
