Tranquil Shores helped me get my life back. I was in need of an executive program that let me get my business work done while still being in intensive therapy. They do a great job at individualizing a treatment plan based on each persons needs. Very different from the facility I had been to in the past. Also, I was worried that the pictures on their website did not match the actual property but the condo's on the beach are exactly as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. I will forever be grateful to Chad and the entire staff.

I found out about tranquil shores because a friend went there and said it was a great program. I'm so glad I listened to her because it has changed my life. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with compassion and respect by the entire staff. Having my family involved was a huge plus and being right on the beach made it that much better. I am reminded on a daily basis how caring the staff is at Tranquil Shores. Not only does the staff have exceptional training in their fields, many have also been through a lot of the same struggles as the clientele are experiencing. Having been there themselves, helps the staff relate and work through the some of the same problems the clients are experiencing. With the location being on the beach, it truly helps the clients relax so they are able to do thorough work on themselves. Anyone in the hands of this amazing staff will surely feel the healing power of the the program.
I went to Tranquil Shores for 90 days. First off the good. Most of the staff is nice and compassionate. Some of the counselors are very knowledgeable and helpful with any issues you may be struggling with as well as underlying issues related to your addiction. Chad, the owner is a good guy who really cares for the clients (although he isn't very involved in the actual program itself). There are lots of therapeutic & fun activities that mostly fill up your schedule. Each week has a different theme for a total of 13 themes. Now, the bad. My counselor in particular, Donald Ford, though knowledgeable, had a very biased viewpoint on a multitude of things. It has been pointed out to me that perhaps he was projecting his own feelings about his upbringing onto me and other clients. He acts very prideful and as if he's better than you. I have heard this from two previous clients of his from when he worked at Manatee Glens also. He withheld church and sponsorship from me as a form of punishment and I got the impression that he's against religion which I dont believe is his place in the recovery of his clients. Apart from him, for $22,000 a month (Yes, 22k/month. Not a typo) you don't get much of a say of anything in regards to your stay there. Whether there's an issue with your roommate, or you perhaps you don't get along with your counselor there's nothing you can do about it. There are also bugs in the apartments which was pretty gross.
As a successful female executive, I had experienced many "1st's" & "youngest" achievements. I had raised two successful children that were happy in their lives. I had all the trappings that "successful" brings you. I thought I was strong, invincible even.
Then a series of life events sucker punched me and also removed scabs from other events in the past. I was haunted and consumed.
I became a "functional" alcoholic. Ha! - a contradiction in terms. And then I dissolved into a broken, hopeless alcoholic.
I found my way to Tranquil Shores. Still in executive mode, I arrived with a list of objectives. I was going to tackle this problem like I did any other. I am sure my counselor must have chuckled to herself. Except my way hadn't worked very well. I learned to ask the question "how is that working for you?"
Instead of my checklist of issues, Tranquil Shores saved me and helped me discover my humanity. Instead of scabs over my feelings and hurts, Tranquil Shores helped me completely heal.
My alcoholism then just became a symptom that developed from my underlying pain. Once healed, I found the peace and serenity that had always eluded me during my frenzied, competitive lifestyle. My life's views changed. The internal messaging that I told myself became loving and gentle.
My entire life changed in 90 days. At Tranquil Shores, they created an individual program for me that got to issues I wasn't aware of and certainly hadn't included on my initial list. The staff is amazing. Both clinical and property staff are uniquely qualified to provide support and healing for each client. They will always be in my heart as angels sent for me.
I wanted treatment because I was sick and tired of how I was living. I came to Tranquil Shores on faith and I thank God I did. T.S. has changed everything that I needed to in life. I now have a whole new way of thinking and I'm now able to live life on life's terms. Thank you to everyone there.

I came in a nobody, but I was able to leave as a somebody. Somebody with a purpose and a new found love for themselves. Tranquil shores gave me the tools to dig deep inside of myself and pull out everything within, in order to build a new house that I loved and was comfortable in. They gave me blocks of wisdom that I used as the foundation of my new temple and it has truly saved and changed my life. I completed the program and even chose to go to transitional living after. The reason I did this was because I realized my whole life I always did what I wanted to do, which always led me down a path of misery and regret, but I finally realized the path of progress lies down the road of uncomfortableness and that it's a challenging course but those obstacles and fears on that road are the very things I must push through to become the man I've always wanted to be. All progress takes place outside of the comfort zone. Now I see so much more on my horizon and I accept the challenges that await me with courage and valiance. I pray that whoever reads this chooses the same path and finds themselves along with their purpose on this heroic journey we call life!!
After years of therapy working on underlying issues of self esteem, anxiety and depression, Tranquil Shores was able to provide a beautiful and comfortable environment for me to finally get down to the root of my issues that impacted my heavy self medicating with alcohol for many years. Their staff made me feel accepted and supported in a way that allowed me to get honest with myself about the depth of my issues. Do not listen to the manipulation of Dianne Allen. Upon my arrival she told me they had a 99% success rate. This sounded too good to be true, which it was. Within the first 3 days of my stay 3 people dropped out due to the Napoleon complex of Dianne Allen. She says one thing and does another and all the talk about creating your own treatment plan was the biggest load of maneur I've heard in my life. She says her spiritual guide allows her to hand pick her intake applications but there were some losers in there with me and some no hope bottom of the barrel alcoholics, and everyday upon going to group I didn't see any newcommers, she doesn't hand pick, she takes what she can get. The place is a scam and I feel bad for the very devoted staff she has (such as the grounds manager, and drivers) which she enslaves. I Beleive Kris on the abuse because I can't see this voodoo priest/witch taking no for an answer. No means no Dianne. She is very unprofessional and a liar. I could go on for days upon her misdeeds and ways she misled me into getting a paycheck, respond to this for my email and make sure nobody goes to tranquil shores. Once againm she'll whisper sweet sorrows into your ear just to get your money!!! She has a philosophy about the detox period not being a 30 day program designed by insurance companies but rather a 90 day program to insure success. I was in with a kid facing a year in jail and was in her prescence for 6 months and he could not take it anymore and decided to use opiates and said jail was better.
At Tranquil shores I found a new beginning a new life worth living. Tranquil shores provided the excellent client care, exceptional therapist, and wonderful administrative staff. All I had to come with was a willingness to try a new way of life.
I have a sibling that went to Tranquil Shores after many attempts at getting sober, including stays at other rehabs. This rehab center was dramatically different from anything else we had tried as a family. The staff are exceptional at what they do and their professionalism and service is unmatched. I am a recovering addict with three years sober now! I was fortunate enough to find this magical place that restored my self esteem, taught me how to live by setting boundaries and to respect the boundaries of others, develop solid coping skills (because face it you can't live in a rehab facility forever and life does show up)and nurtured and loved me when I despised myself and my addictive behaviors. Tranquil Shores introduced me to a life of recovery that has led to a life three years later, more wonderful than any life I could have imagined for myself. They nurtured and loved me, until I could love and care for myself which in my case took all of the 90-days! When I arrived there I was living in a world of darkness and despair. When I left, for the time in my life, I was seeing color and the beauty in others. I had a lot of work to do, they guided me gently through the process. I will FOREVER be grateful to EVERY single person, from the moment I called for treatment (Jared and Bret) to my personal therapist (Lynn) and every other therapy group, AND the entire community staff on property (Kelly, Eva, Bonnie, Nick, Dan, Joe, Mike, Bryan and so many others) for showing me a new way to live. I would add that I explored many options for treatment and many places in which to embark on this journey. NO place had the offerings of Tranquil Shores. The 1:1 therapy alone, plus all the dynamic group therapy they offer, truly sets them apart from other rehab facilities. Plain and simple, Tranquil Shores gave my brother his life back. My experience with Tranquil Shores was truly life changing. I walked through the gates of the residence property and was blown away by the living area's and common space, the tech's were fantastic and that was my impression on the first day. The councilors are amazing, really every single member of the Tranquil Shores family had a significant role in my journey. Lie about the cost. End up costing triple. Get them to return for another round of rehab". They just send the patients from one drug to another. Complete scam.
I came to Tranquil Shores in June of 2016 and now by the grace of god have over 2 years sober. It was a blessing I found this place. I have no doubt in my mind that the caring staff and amazing program saved my life.
Five years ago, in a state of desperation, my mother contacted Tranquil Shores to see if they could help my brother, who had for years been addicted to opiates. The person she spoke with gave her hope. Within a week, she put him on a plane to Florida. Tranquil Shores saved my brother's life, plain and simple. Tranquil Shores is unlike any other place. 27 hours of intensive therapy a week. Intensive approach to mind, body, and spirit. They dont treat you like another head earning a dollar. You're an individual and they are sincerely invested in wanting you to recover and grow. They have family groups. Its amazing and it changed my life. Every single counselor and tech cared, that's truely the difference.

The living facilities, staff, counselors, and programming at Tranquil Shores are as good as one could hope to find anywhere. Through group therapy, individual therapy, and interactions with my peers and staff I quickly learned that I was stuck in a destructive cycle because of the beliefs I held about myself, others, and the world. Based on these beliefs, it was impossible for me to do anything other than stay stuck in a cycle of shame and alcohol dependence. Over time, I was able to let go of my painful thoughts and perceptions, and eventually my mental obsession with alcohol along with them. I had received help previously that scratched the surface of my struggles, but at Tranquil Shores I was given a solution that will serve me for as long as I am willing to put in the work.
Beautiful property, great location, and highly skilled staff. From the behavioral techs, the therapists, and the administration staff, they could not do a better job with client care!
I've been to 8 treatment centers all 30 day programs. I did have some success but I never got to the root of my problems and addressed things from my childhood that affected me my entire life. I did 90 days at tranquil shores and it was unlike any program. They took all the good things that other treatments do but went very deep with them. I had a relationship with every councilor in the program not just my own. They truly care about each client. They saved my life. I am forever grateful.
The love and support from the entire staff, both clinical and property was absolutely amazing. The recovery tools and life skills that are taught at Tranquil Shores provided me the ability to grow in a way I didn't think was possible. The quality of care he received there was excellent. The psychiatrists and therapists were so well equipped with providing him the therapy and tools he needed to maintain his sobriety for the long term.
I am so glad I decided to go to Tranquil Shores for my inpatient rehab program. I arrived here under my own volition after a long history of drug and alcohol abuse. It was a life changing decision for me. In addition to helping me with my addictive tendencies, they also worked with me to help me get my past trauma and mental health issues under control. While they do require AA and NA meetings, I feel that it was the intense therapy that truly helped me save my life. The clinical and resident staff are all very knowledgeable about what they do and how to go about treating someone with serious addiction issues. The residential property is beautiful and very much helped keep me relaxed throughout my stay. I really did love my time here, so much that I did the entire 90 day program. I highly recommend Tranquil Shores to anyone who believes they may be struggling with addiction; it was totally and completely worth it.
