Just back from an amazing holiday in Myanmar which we concluded by staying in the Sule Shangri la Yangon before we flew back yesterday.
1. Horizon Lounge, what an amazing team that works in the lounge, led by Nwe New and in conjunction with her team Zaw Lin and Mike, they go beyond all expectations to ensure that all your needs and requests are met quickly and with a smile in the lounge. Very smooth check-in, our early arrival was catered for without any mention of the fact that we were early! They work very hard to ensure that we felt comfortable and had everything that we needed to make for a great holiday.
2. House Keeping- I must say that our suite was immaculate, there was a good range of amenities in the room and I was really impressed when I saw how the housekeeping staff approached their work, conscientious and dedicated, taking pride in doing a great job.
3. Organizing Team for the New Year's Eve party at Peacock lounge- compliments to the team that planned, organized, supervised and carried out what was a happy, engaging and fun way to ring in 2020. What particularly impressed me was how they managed to make everyone smile and have fun. The party far exceeded our expectations, very high standard of food, decor, music, drinks.

To sum up I really felt that I was at home when I was in the Shangri-la-my residence in Yangon!! Thank you to all the staff as I know it is a team effort and so much goes on behind the scenes.

The ever helpful and attendant staff really added to the enjoyment of our stay. Thank you all. Happy New Year.

The room is kind of old, its time to renovate now. As hotel claims it is five stars hotel. but now it looks like 3-4 stars hotel room.

*Bed ( mattress) is not comfortable, dull.
I have slept softer, more comfortable than this even in 3-4 stars hotels.
**Bath tub is too high, it needs to climb to get in the tub.
it should have rain shower / glass bathroom wall to see the room like every other new hotels.

**However, the service of hotels staffs is very good, acceptable and pleasant.

Even I can access the wifi in front of that Hotel but I am not rich enough to get in there.

I spent 6 nights at The Sule Shangri-La,Yangon in August and 1 night in September-2018.The experience was simply superb!...The room I was given was spacious and attractive and beautifully serviced each day.Breakfast each morning was a revelation!Only in The Shangri-La in New Delhi did I see such an array of food-beautifully presented and most appetising.The staff were the real bonus of staying at the hotel-friendly,courteous and always ready to please and to help.The staff may have been tired at times but they never let it show-they were,quite simply,top class and excellent.In this regard I would like to pay tribute to Kyaw Myo,Nilar Shwe,Khun ,Ms Aderson,Dennis,Ms Myat-Su,the Duty Manager,Phyo Lay at the travel desk,Jason,Jack and Saw,and Solo-a trainee chef.I want to say a special thank you to Ms Yamin who was always helpful at breakfast time,and to Nora-the lady with the Irish name !...How can you improve matters at The Sule Shangri-La?...You cannot improve on perfection...Excellent all round...Thanks to everybody.

This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. The service was fantastic. They did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable and did not need anything. The breakfast in the morning was incredibly varied having stations for Japanese, Indian, Western, and more. The rooms themselves were really well taken care of and very comfortable. I will be staying again if I am ever in Yangon.

Great hotel staff, comfortable and clean rooms, breakfast is fantastic, the pool/spa/gym facilities are amazing and the WiFi has also a great coverage. The hotel is in a very central location and has many close by facilities too.

Location is good and have good service. But it couldn't provide free parking.

A very pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was smooth and quick, while check-out was even quicker.
The cafe serves a wonderful multi-country cuisine spread for breakfast.
And The Gallery Bar is very nice too.

I have stayed a long time in your hotel but this find the maintenance is getting worse... two rooms recently the thermostat was not working and could not control the AC in the room. So freezing or too hot.. the audio to the TV never works in most rooms I stayed and the food in the lounge is getting worse consistently.. But the staff are always very goood, no complaint about the staff in the hotel....

Irresponsible Business Group in Myanmar. Breaching construction standards and used public road and platform area for their own business in last few years until gonernment took action. Made worst to state event by not supplying electric power of their own back-up generators.

We are grateful for the delicate response to the virus situation that has become a global concern.

I would be grateful for the guidance and suggestions of the city that became the friend of the concierge.
The check-out was early morning so the breakfast box was a bit disappointing.

I want to stay again.

Very pleasant and centrally located right bu bogyoke market. Even if large hotel, has a cosy feel. Excellent pool area (beware water is a bit on thr chilly side and exposure to the sun starts at 10am only)...and good sports/fitness facilities. Bar has excellent and frothy myanmar lager on tap - a luxury at affordable prices! Rooms are spacious and view on the pagoda are priceless

Very disappointed with the room at the club floor. Old & Dull & the toilet like never upgrade before.
Club Lounge also appear have not renovated for at least 5 years.
Food spread is poor

really surprised at all the negative reviews.. especially the staff being rude.. obviously they don't understand what it is to be a hotel.

Generally the food is really good but the rooms are a bit run down. A revamp of the hotel should be nice.

The hotel was definitely a five star! The staff were very helpful especially concierge, they were always ready to get you a taxi or give you advice where to go in the city. Our room was spacious and the shower was perfect.

A very extraordinary hotel. Everything is perfect. The location is easy to find and close to Sule Square. It's easy to find places to eat and money chargers around the hotel. Being in one of the centers of Yangon, can observe the lives of Yangon residents closer. Hotels also close to Bogyoke Market only need to walk. Yangon train station is also close.

This is the first time i have experienced in room check in service, which is wonderful. Also guest relation manager, Marion was very hospitable. I would have loved to see more continental options in food. I would have rated full 5 if not for the food.

One of the best luxury hotel and you can enjoy the heart of city. It is near by Sule Pagoda, Yangon City Hall, Junction City & Bogyoke Aung San Market.

Beautiful set of villa set 1km from beach in Seminyak. Also in a large Padi field so U get the best of Bali quietness and the action of Seminyak night life

Very posh.. very nice bathrooms! The staff was amazing. I love as ll the shops! Rolex here I come!

Needless to say that the location is well cleaned and clean, after checking out I went to the evening to pick up my luggage and used a spa shower for free, and also lent me a towel. I was very grateful that I had to return home by plane after that.

Most things were good/excellent- cleanliness, house keeping restaurant, etc.
But since i did not have a credit card- where I was an invitee with all finance- I had faced problem in my first day .
I feel this could have been sorted out in a better manner.

The staffs are very friendly, helpful and skillful. Services that provided was excellent and especially housekeeping was really good.
I visited Yangon 2 ~ 3 times a year and also other country such as Thailand, Singapore. Staying at five star hotels, Sule Shangri-La is one of my most favorite hotel ever.

Having a workshop here in Sule Shangri-la and we are left with a memorable experiences with their personal touch.

The weather was very hot in Yangon so we spent more time in the hotel than usual. We enjoyed the hotel facilities especially the horizon club. The team of staff there was attentive, polite, cheerful and hardworking. We would like to commend the service rendered by Zaw Lin. He speaks good English and shared a lot of information about Yangon and gave us clear direction to various attractions. Overall the team of staff is good. A big thank to Zaw Lin, Nwe, ChoZin, Nang, THET, Mike and Khin Zar. Please keep up the great effort and service. On the ground floor, reception team, security team and restaurant staff in Sule Cafe and Summer Palace were also very pleasant. Housekeeping is excellent too. The room is clean and tidy. Spacious lobby and room / bathroom, with single-lever mixer. Water temperature and supply very good, but only showering in the bathtub.

I used to travel a lot and stayed in many places before. This was my best experience so far. Special mention about the hospitality and personalized care.
I stayed here for 2 months and enjoyed every bit of my stay. Chef Ganesan deserves a specia mention for the excellent South Indian food.

The service counter has lack of English ability. Cannot understand what customers talk

I am in the heart of Yangon and it is fashionable. It is very convenient because you can use the Internet while drinking coffee at the end of the lounge when you have a bad internet connection at home. Just where in the parking lot payment for money! ? I want you to fix it.

Nice to be in a luxury hotel on my last couple of nights in Myanmar. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Rooms are nice - loved the artwork above the headboard. The gym is great - good Life Fitness machines and nice water with fruits in it. The pool is ok... it seemed a bit dirty (the tiles), same with the jacuzzi in the change rooms - very dated.

We were very impressed with the hotel and the great service we experienced from the moment we arrived. The hotel offers excellent quality accommodation and is centrally located with the tourist spots easy to get to. We stayed in a club suite which was extremely spacious and well furnished with amazing views of the city including the Shwedagon Pagoda.The suite came with Horizon club benefits with great food and drink choices including evening cocktails served by a very friendly and attentive team - special thanks to Travis for the great service. All the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful at all times! Thanks again to Myatsu (duty manager), Koko (concierge) and the Club Lounge staff for making our stay so enjoyable - we'll be back!

One of the BEST hotel in Yangon. Excellent people. Housekeeping (Mr. Min MIn) very helpful and responsive. My room is in the best condition every day.

1. Expensive price $140 without breakfast.
2. Small Swimming Pool
3. Does not have massage services.
4. Very big amount to secure on the credit card. I was asked to secure USD$1000, I only stay for 5 days (USD$700). Secure cost is more than the total cost spent.
5. No Shaving equipment in toiletries.

Inefficient crisis management could be seen from the May 20 incident. What add to the incident is that this happened during the government level conference and no proper explanation at the time of incident. And no one taking responsibility during that time and to say 'sorry' or explanation.

Anyway I think whoever managing the social media out cry is pretty good at their job by saying for this incident.
