They sold us a used vehicle that immediately needed $300+ worth of brake repairs. The test drive was on a noisy highway so we didn t have an opportunity to hear it, but noticed it when we got back home.

I m not claiming they intentionally tried to cover it up, but at a minimum it does erode the trustworthiness of their used vehicle inspection process if something like that can get by them. As with all used cars, caveat emptor.

Purchased a new 2019 Avalon via the True Car app and the process was very easy. I worked with Tiani and she has truly been the best car salesperson hands down that I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend the dealership and ask for Tiani!

Very disappointed with employees, management. I shopped and bought elsewhere. Very unorganized group. Do not even try to shop here. I have friends that had big problems with them. So glad I purchased elsewhere.

They consistently overcharge. $90 for wiper blades, that's almost triple what most other places charge for the same model. They over quote on repairs and attempt to charge for things that don't need to be replaced. They also take forever to get anything done. Even aside from the much better and cheaper work I've had done elsewhere, I would no longer trust them with my Toyota. I expect the dealership to be more expensive, but double or triple the labor for less work is unreasonable. I'm also fairly certain that despite their protests to the contrary, they sold my info to telemarkerters. Especially since the markerters argued they could call me as they pleased since I'd been to this dealership.

Fred Anderson's parts department really bent over backwards to keep my business. After finding a part for my wife's RAV4 online at another dealership they agreed to price match even though it was just pennies over cost and nearly half of what they had previously quoted me.

Make sure they process your purchase! I bought a pre-owned car from them in April of 2017. Here it is almost July and I still haven't received my registration for my car. I've called the dealership about it who simply states "we don't have it yet." Mind you, it's only supposed to take 30 days. So I went to the local DMV to see about getting my registration from them. They pull up my VIN # for my car I purchased from this dealership and tell me it's registered in someone else's name. How is that even possible? Because this slack ass dealership has yet to process my paperwork apparently. But they wasted NO time in selling my car I traded in. It's so inconvenient to have to deal with this when I shouldn't have to. Unprofessional is a total understatement. Of course when I call to speak with the GM, he's out of the office. So I guess now, I have to contact corporate and file a complaint with the state attorney general. You really shouldn't have to make sure they're doing their job when you spend the amount of money you do!

When me and my girlfriend were looking for her a car we stop by one day at the Toyota dealership just to see what they had we looked at one car she decided she didn t want it and for the past six months they have been harassing her and calling her nonstop asking her about a vehicle even though we have told them that she has found a vehicle and then it was nothing against the dealership but she would like to be taken off the call list yet they have ignored this and kept calling her and aggravating her. Definitely would not recommend as a dealership if you wanted to look and just test drive.

Chris Tessa in sales was amazing!! He was very patient and listened to exactly what we were looking for. Chris never once tried to push something we weren't interested and didn't push to make a sale which is really hard to find a sales person that isn't like that anymore!! Thank you for the great service Chris!!!

I was considering the purchase of a new Toyota Tacoma, but my neighbor had engine trouble with his new FRS which was under warranty. It was taken to Fred Anderson in Sanford over 6 months ago and he still has not gotten it back!!!!!! If something happens to my vehicle, I can not wait 6 plus months for a mechanic to figure out what is wrong. Suspicions something is wrong with this dealership. Will keep you all posted.

The service staff is friendly enough, but not a great place to get service or to go if you are shopping for a vehicle. I've been taking my 2017 Tacoma here for almost a year and a half, and have had issues twice now with things being left off my truck after service was complete. While both issues were relatively small, it makes me wonder what else they aren't doing that they say they are, and charging me for. As for the sales department, I walked around the lot for 20-30 minutes, walked through the sales floor multiple times, all while waiting on my truck to be serviced. Not a single time was my existence even acknowledged.

UPDATE: After posting this 2-star review, there was a response saying I should contact the GM. I called several times, left 2 messages, and never heard back. It seems this place really is clueless about what customer service is, which earned it a decrease to 1-star. I ll be going out of my way to take my business elsewhere in the future.

Went in just for routine maintenance (oil change, tire rotation, etc) and was out in no time. Luther got me in at 8:12AM, and I was out by 8:52. He was super friendly, knew what he was talking about and made sure my Camry got the complimentary wash while it was there. Always good service at our Sanford Toyota with Luther or Kyle James!

Very professional! Did not try to "trick" or "scam" me into getting some service that I did not need. Happened to me at another Toyota dealership during a recall action. Was told I needed new brake rotors and pads. I declined their service, but tood their word for the necessity of work. Went to an auto supply store and purchased two new rotors and pads for front. Proceeded to start to do the service myself and found both rotors and pads in good conditon wit MANY miles left.

Thank you Fred Anderson for NOT doing similarly. You have a team with integrety and you will indeed get my business in the future. Buyer beware of other scam oriented dealer service.

Great car and great experience. Kenny is a great salesman and went above and beyond to make the experience a pleasant and stress free one. I highly recommend this dealership and I absolutely love my new Camry and could not be happier.

Other than a little mix up with the phone representative not relaying all the information this was an awesome buying experience. Highly recommend these guys if you re buying a new Toyota. Greg the GM went above and beyond to beat Hendricks deal, Byron had everything setup when we arrived, Kenny gave one of the best walk arounds and demonstrations I ve had at a dealership, Eddie got us through finance in less than an hour which is unheard of when buying a new vehicle!

Complete waste of my day. My wife and I couldn't wait to leave. The "salesman" that spoke to us had no idea what he was doing, nor seemed eager to sell us a car. It took forever to find prices, and we were never asked any questions about purchasing.

I have purchased many cars in the past, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had from a reputable dealership. Treated as if we were insignificant, our business was not important, and an overall feeling as if we were not worthy to purchase one of their vehicles. We even went in prequalified for credit...left this dealership, went to another and purchased more vehicle for less money and were treated respectfully.

Greg Davison is a Liar a true crook with no Integrity! He manipulated my sister into believing he was an honest Owner..Stay far away from this Liar he is a cheap coward that doesnt care for our community or your needs they will slickly rob you and cheat you in a way that will hurt you and your family for years he is the worst Manager in the state and a true scum bag in the flesh! Everytime ive come for service i notice the entire staff is different ..its obvious a good hearted person flees from this scumbag ...We will never buy another car from this store my entire family is highly disappointed and disgusted That the Fred Anderson Name supports Greg Davison. after 12 years of active Army service truly know this store knows nothing about integrity or honor they just want our sacrificed hard earned money we dont need this kind of lowlife lying heartless scumbag in our town especially running our only Toyota store we deseve better Fred!

Buying a car can be a grueling experience. Not only can a person be overwhelmed with the many options out there, but the waiting time can be horrendous, as well. Luckily, nowadays, the internet makes it possible to view the many different avenues ahead of time. I did my research and knew I wanted a slightly larger cab, but wasn't sure about the make or model. I checked out many trucks and narrowed it down to the Nissan Frontier and the Toyota Tacoma. Since I was currently driving a Nissan Frontier, I was leaning more towards that vehicle. However, I decided to check out Fred Anderson Toyota of Sanford, as well. I met with Billy Logan in sales. He was very knowledgeable about the Tacoma and explained all the many features associated with this vehicle. I was very impressed! Everyone was very nice and a few of the employees stopped by to introduce themselves, namely Jessica.
I was still undecided on which vehicle to get. I went back another day to see what deals they could offer me. Josh and Eli were very instrumental in getting me the truck I wanted. The financial officer, Eddie, gave me more of a deal than I could ever hope for. He was very patient with me as I signed the papers.
I have never had as great of an experience as I have had at Fred Anderson Toyota of Sanford. I would highly recommend this awesome team if one is in the market for a new vehicle.

These guys are on the ball. They must have the busiest service department in Sanford and I can see why. I drive a Lincoln, and I went there out of desperation. I'm new to the area and had a low tire, but I have nitrogen in them. I'd already been to a tire store and Ford. Neither could help and neither knew where to send me. Toyota was ready with smiles, information and lightening fast free service. They also do inspections, tires, and quick lube. I'm beyond impressed

Everything about my experience was great. Took my 2007 Tacoma in for a new frame and felt welcomed from the start. I was nervous because of the magnitude of work required. Kyle kept me informed throughout the repair and was always helpful and responsive. I was able to meet the mechanic, Zenon, who I found to be very intelligent and a good communicator. His ability to complete the job without any issues is impressive in itself. Hats off to everyone who made the repair possible. This Toyota dealership knows the customer and Tacomas, in my opinion. Couldn t be happier, thank you!

How wonderful to have caring and helpful folks for a change. Andre and Danielle are genuine and so easy to work with. They care about their customers and it shows! I recommend this dealership to anybody who wants good service, honesty, and to be treated like family. Great experience!

I highly recommend Larry Dewitt and Toyota of Sanford. I test drove the 2013 Tundra and loved it. It just didn't have all the accessories that I wanted or the right color. Larry looked for "my truck" and found it! I wasn't supposed to get it for a week but they got it delivered in 2 days. I had to go to the airport and they jumped through hoops to have it ready for me to drive. Larry even programmed the blue tooth to recognize my phone and I go back on Monday for them to finish the detailing and show me how to use the Nav systems and all the accessories! I usually buy Fords, but thanks to Larry and the rest of the guys, I am a Toyo fan now!

not the best dealership in the world. Was lied to by the salesman after I purchased my vehicle. When I called to find out some information, was given the run around by several different salesmen regarding my concerns. Service dept is nothing spectacular but at least gives you a time when you can leave from work being performed. Probably won't go back to this dealership and will go to another Toyota dealership in the future. Like Toyota, but just not this dealership.

Edit: Mr. Davidson. It is not the job nor the responsibility of the customer to inform you of how to run or operate a business. No, I will not call you to discuss issues with your salespersons, or how they lie and "play" potential customers. That is the job or your training staff to properly train personnel and ensure they are performing their work honestly, with integrity, and with the results the customer expects. If someone wants a feature in their vehicle, it is up to YOU to tell the customer that it is either a possibility or it's not. Be HONEST with people. We are spending thousands of dollars on vehicles and should be treated with respect and honesty.

Purchased a new Toyota two months ago and two tires became defective. The service dept said the tire had no warranty. We paid out of pocket to replace the tires that should have been at a minimum pro rated to off set the cost. Also, before all this happened, I recommend my friend, she purchased another Camry 2019 and they offered me $100 referral that they never sent it. I sent Brian Romell a text and he never responded, same way with a Richard the sales man. Very poor customer service. Not impressed with Sanford Toyota. Kenia & Trey Mills

I've purchased quite a few Toyota vehicles over the years from many different dealerships all across the country. Fred Anderson Toyota in Sanford is one of the top two ever in my experience. From the first contact with Andrea Sales Manager and then to Wayne Salesman and finally to Eddie Finance Officer, they all listened, offered suggestions but were not "pushy" in any way at all. My initial contact was an email inquiry to Andrea. I was getting quotes from multiple dealerships at the time and did not want all of them, or any of them to be calling my phone, so I insisted that the dealerships only respond via email. Andrea was the only dealership out of 7 that did not call my phone. I already knew which vehicle & options I wanted and knew that it would have to be ordered. When I came into the office, Wayne did not try to 'up sell' or do any 'Bait & Switch' as another dealership had attempted to do. Wayne did offer suggestions & ask questions to ensure that I would be getting what I really wanted, but never was he pushy. Eddie informed me of multiple options including extended warranties, but just like Andrea and Wayne, he was not pushy. The dealership also automatically provides one of the best dealership warranty & service packages that I've ever seen. I'd definitely recommend Fred Anderson Toyota of Sanford.

The dealership (Fred Anderson Toyota of Sanford) was easy to find. Good directions by Google Maps. I enjoyed the drive. Fred Anderson Toyota of Sanford is very clean and quiet. The waiting room is comfortable. They have a drink machine and snack machine. It is very pleasant when you have to wait for your car, to be able to have a comfortable place to wait. Free Wi-Fi is convenient.

I came in looking for a somewhat rare vehicle; a manual, 4x4, 4 door Tacoma and Fred Anderson had one! Silas, our sales associate was extremely knowledgeable and had the answers to every question I had. He was intuitive and personable and made you feel welcome and taken care of. The relaxing atmosphere and non-pressured to buy atmosphere was a refreshing change of pace from other dealerships. I will recommend Silas and Fred Anderson to everyone I know.

This is the LONGest Review i have ever written.

This is the LONGest Review i have ever written.
On 5/6/2020 I purchased a 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid PL from Fred Anderson of Sanford.
I was searching for used and new SUVs for about week, taking my time, i was not in a rush, setting up 1-2 appointments every day to test drive and discuss numbers. I had my trade in vehicle with me, title, checkbook just in case if i love the vehicle and get a decent offer for my trade, i would buy the vehicle right away. I got pre-approved with my lender and i knew how much i can spend and what my appox.payments will be. Plus i did my research on market value, car history, consumer reports and reviews of each vehicle I was interested in. I found out all approx. TTL fees, average dealer DOC fees, taxes etc. Armed with information and super exited i started to visit dealers around Raleigh. Boy, pretty much on the first day my excitement was wiped out by condescending salesmen and greedy, jumpy, arrogant and rude F&I people! i was so disappointed to see how in year 2020 dealers still try to trick you, belittle you and make you feel small for knowing what you want and knowing exactly how much you have to pay for a car. I mean, all the info is on the internet!!!! You can't sell cars like in "old days" anymore. I suggest dealers to spend their outrages DOC and BS fees on training their staff, make them focus on making a customer feel welcomed, safe and respected, rather than trying to say cliche phrases like: " If you drove this type of vehicle, you don't need to drive it now. They all drive the same " , "you getting an excellent deal, practically stealing the car" , " you realize that this vehicle will not be here tomorrow, you need to buy today" I can keep going on and on
But when i visited Fred Anderson Toyota yesterday, all my negative experiences disappeared!!!!
Below i'm listing what i noticed:
1. Professional, respectful and courteous staff!Everyone created absolutely no pressure, calm environment around me since i first walked in.
2. Prompt response online and over the phone
3. Sales person who helped me was Richard Covington, he is the nicest human being i have ever met in a car buying world. He was knowledgeable, precise and laid-back. Went above and beyond to help me through the process
4. F&I Manager Eddie was very nice. No pushing any of the stuff that I didn't request. I was told from the beginning that I CHOOSE WHAT I NEED AND WANT. After having quite a few issues with F&I guys previously in my life, i was pleasantly surprised and mildly shocked how easy and quick it was to get thru the paperwork.
My car buying experience was fantastic with them ! I recommend to go there if you value your time, you want to be treated with respect and professionalism! I have encountered that It's not so easy to find nowadays. But management at this particular dealer is way ahead of customer service than other dealers in the area! off to them ! I wish everyone a pleasant and no pressure car buying that I experienced here! Be safe

The car buying experience can be very horrendous process. But, but at Mark Jacobson Toyota that was not the process that I got I was very happy with my experience there were only a few things that I wish I could change if I had to do it all over again. The wait time between getting your insurance fax was a very long wait and also getting your plates. I feel like they should call you via voice mail to tell you when your plates are in but other than that everything was very good.

Kenny Rogers is the man to see if you don't want to deal with hassle. I did run into problems with the financial department on wait times. But, a guy was out sick, bunch of ppl there, just a busy day. Overall, I will be back for my next car purchase.

Aaron Murchison! He made the experience uncomplicated and fast. I went in after 10 a.m. and was driving away with my car in a short period of time. He is very well mannered, not pushy or overbearing and I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a vehicle!

Call in yesterday to ask for a car and was told they had it on site. After driving for 45 min to get there not only was the car not there, they had no idea where the car was, didn't know who answer the phone and tried to make me fill out the paperwork for the car so they could get it. They lure the customers in and then try to sell a car at all costs. Very unprofessional and unethical. People buy cars somewhere else. Worst dealer in the area.

I have bought two NEW vehicle with this dealership...

I have bought two NEW vehicle with this dealership and would only get my vehicle serviced by then. I drove all the way from Manhattan, Kansas to get my vehicle serviced because I was very loyal to this dealership and their customer service department. They USED to take care of their customers. I since retired from the military, and moved to Virginia where they require a front license plate. The vehicle never came with a front bracket and I was never asked if I wanted one installed despite NC never requiring a front bracket. I called to get a bracket installed since I bought the vehicle there and I was told that I would then have to pay for the bracket even though I bought the vehicle at that dealership and have always gotten my vehicle serviced there even when I was stationed in KS. The service department then stated that not ALL vehicles come with a front bracket and he didn't care that I purchased the vehicle there. A brand new vehicle comes with a bracket, and they usually ask if you want it installed if it is not required in the state of purchase. However, they did not ask this time. I will never come to this dealership again even if my vehicle broke down in front of the building. Your lack of caring for a loyal customer is disenchanting to say the least, and I was even considering purchasing a new car so I could pass my current vehicle to my daughter who is now driving. NOT ANYMORE FROM HERE!

You re better off going to another dealership. We went here and waited around for hours on end to find a vehicle...way after waiting so many hours, they finally decided to tell us that the banks were closed so we couldn t get an answer that day. We were told we would get a call on Monday about the status of the application; never got a call. Called in to check on it myself and was told I d get a call back that day..never did.

I had the best experience I could have ever dreamed of at Fred Anderson Toyota in Sanford, NC. My salesman Anthony (@urautoguy on Facebook) literally took so much time with me and did everything he could to make the car buying process the smoothest I have ever experienced. I showed up at Toyota (when they were technically closing), and he stayed and talked to me. Not being pushy whatsoever, he explained details on any vehicle I inquired about. Anthony set the tone for Fred Anderson within the first couple of minutes of me being at their location. He represented their company respectfully, professionally, and displayed the most genuine customer service I have ever encountered. Thank you Fred Anderson, for not only providing me with a safe brand new car to drive, but also giving me such a positive experience that I can share with family and friends. Also - hire more people like Anthony who will go above and beyond to exceed customers expectations.

I"ve taken my vehicle to this dealership several t...

I"ve taken my vehicle to this dealership several times and been satisfied with my service, however, the service that I have received surrounding my most current experience has me considering another Toyota dealership to service my future Toyota vehicle needs.

I recently needed to have my 2012 Toyota 4 Runner in for service before a lengthy road trip. I requested to have my tires rotated, oil changed, my Sirius radio looked at as it had gone out the week prior and the shocks on my back door hatch needed to be replaced. I was asked if I had a Toyota warranty and although I did, they said that they couldn't find it in the system and I ended up having to call Toyota Warranty myself in order to get the information to provide for the warranty work that was needed.

I had dropped the vehicle off at the service department off expecting it to need to be there a few days and I was going out of town anyway. My husband received a call the next day that the car was complete, the parts were being ordered for the hatch and that there was nothing wrong my with radio. We let them know that we would be picking the car up the next day. When we got there, we were told that they would be calling me within a few days to (this was a Thursday) schedule service for my warranty work with the hatch but that everything else was complete. We paid and I went to leave in my serviced vehicle only to realize that the radio was in fact NOT working. My husband and I pulled the gentleman that had assisted us, out to the car and he agreed and asked us to leave the car again. We agreed and left to go run some errands for a few hours and came back to being told that they think a connection inside of the roof lining was bad and that it would have to possibly be taken apart to find the deficiency. The best thing to do would be to have it fixed when I was having the hatch worked on. We were aggravated that we had been told that it was working in the first place and that we had to leave it again after they had it for several days but whatever, I would have to wait.

I had been told that we should get a call to schedule service on that Saturday or the next Monday as the parts were scheduled to be on by then. No call Saturday... no call Monday either. I called on Tuesday and left a message since no one answered or was available for my call. Wednesday, I had not received a call and called back and once again, was sent to a VM to leave a message. I called back Thursday again after no return call and let the lady in service know what was going on. She put me on hold for several minutes and back and told me that no one was available for me but that I could leave a message on the Service Manager's VM... REALLY... I tried to explain that I had been leaving messages and that I really just needed to talk to someone but she told me I would have to leave another message! I left a message for Ron and again, waited.

I received a call from a service company with Fred Anderson Toyota on Thursday night, a telemarketing type call, asking me if I wanted to make an appointment for any service my car might need... again, REALLY?! I told this lady what was going on and she said that while she couldn't assist me with finding out what was going on, she could send an email to the service department noting what I needed.

I FINALLY received a call from Ron on Friday at about 5pm to schedule the service. No apology or anything and quite frankly, he wasn't very personable. Customer service is a MAJOR consideration for my husband and I and we don't mind going out of our way to be patrons to those business that show us kind consideration and treat us right. Considering that we have been looking into buying a new Sequoia SUV in the near future, we will fully consider the service, or lack thereof, from Fred Anderson Toyota and look into other area Toyota dealerships.

Recently bought a vehicle here, our sales guy was awesome (Alonso Evans), he helped us the best way possible! However I can say once you walk out of here with a vehicle, the service and the communication between some of Toyota's employees and the customer is terrible (Can't say all Toyota, because there is always those that actually do their job and offer excellent customer service). Seems like some people here are very unorganized and can't get things done right and properly.

Bought a vehicle brand new here a year ago with a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, management changed here and all of a sudden the parts for replacement are not covered under my so called bumper to bumper warranty

Sales people, and the gm are not honest here

Not a recommended place to buy, lacks honesty and integrity entirely

Hilarious that the GM would respond to this now but was not willing to anything when it occurred. This clearly illuminates how shady your dealership is. Calling you will probably get me the same answer i got when i addressed the issue in person which was "i dont understand what the problem is".

This dealership is absolutely god awful. My family...

This dealership is absolutely god awful. My family has purchased 6 cars in the last 10 years from them and this was the worst experience imaginable. Ever since Joe Wynn left as the GM, the dealership has gone down hill from there. I purchased a 2014 Toyota Corolla and after the purchase was over I did not matter to them. My vehicle was not filled up with gas (suppose to be per guidelines). I got in the car to leave and realized it after I left. My vehicle did not have the spare key either. I worked with Jay Anthony and Greg Davison to get my spare key and they are horrible excuse for managers. You would think if you are at that level they would be able to have it together but they do not. Jay Anthony was suppose to contact me on two different occasions to get my spare key and on each time I had to come into the dealership because of his lack of respect to call me. The second time I came in I spoke with Greg Davison and that experience was even worst. He wrote in his planner my address for someone to pick up my new vehicle so they could cut the key. (i just moved and they had my old address on file) The next day I get a phone call from my parents that a driver was at their house instead of my apartment in Hope Mills (the address i gave Mr. Davison). Obviously, Mr. Davison is not a man of his word because he could not get a simple thing as sending someone to the correct address. It was suppose to be a one day thing and they kept my vehicle over night and did not even have the respect to tell me. My vehicle was suppose to be cleaned when it was returned to me (per Greg Davison) and it was never touched. It was actually dirtier then I gave it to them. Jay Anthony and Greg Davison have no respect for their customers and are not men of their words. I felt because I did not buy an expensive car that I did not matter to them. I will never be purchasing another vehicle from this dealership, to include my parents who have been customers longer then me. THe only positive I can say is Eddie Seals is the real deal. I wish I could have dealt with him the entire process. If I could rate this review no stars I would. I really hope other people have a better experience but I doubt it.

BL: Lacking in quality control. Had my wife's Highlander serviced before a trip to Asheville to find my oil drain plug loose leaking oil. If not caught it would have caused engine failure. The service department compensated me with a free service. Fast forward 2 years had my wife's Land Cruiser serviced and the service department stated my battery needed replacement as it was registering 450 cranking amps. After waiting over two hours went to check out and they had to pull out the new battery they had already installed for my old battery since I wasn't paying for it. I Wanted to put in a Optima red top battery. They stated they asked someone in the lobby who they thought was me who told them to install the battery, Not true! Tested the battery at the local auto parts store and the battery was fine. Will not take any of my vehicles back to them as they have lost my trust.
