The dealership I purchased my Toyota Tundra from removed the "Born in Texas, Built by Texans" sticker after I told them not to. I was told to contact the factory to get a new one. Product support could not help me, and the visitor's center could not help me. I can not believe that it is that difficult to get a simple sticker. If they cannot even get a sticker what does that say about the rest of the vehicle?

Eh, what can I say?
As a proud Texan/American, I m happy these trucks are being built here. I did some work here and it wasn t bad for a college student maybe or someone whom can only work part time. I on the other hand was only getting 8-10 hours every Saturday & Sunday.
Not much for me. 20 hrs a week wasn t cutting it. Other than that..it s a different place to work.

If you are interested in how Tundras and Tacomas are produced, you'll be fascinated by the Toyota Visitors Center and the plant tour. Very informative with an up close look at vehicle production from the frame up.

Had a chance to visit the Toyota plant and I was very impressed. The staff gave us a tour of the facility and we were very impressed with their workers and the Dedication in ensuring the job is done correct but most importantly the safety. The plant has so clean and it was just a great experience.

This place is incredible! You learn so much about Toyota and how invested the founders are to the success of the team members and the success of the company. While learning how they build the vehicles in the factory.

Currently I'm in training. Some areas seem fast paced but within time, doing repetitive work, it increases your pace of work. But of course, QUALITY is main priority. Don't want to disappoint our customers. I like that the main managers trained us at one point to give us an idea of how they want us to do the work. So I hope no one tells us different. Yeah Right!! Lol.

Very cool and informative. Took the tour, of course. Definitely worth the time. Learned an enormous amount about the process. Only about a 35-40 minute tram ride so can easily fit in with a schedule of your choosing.

Awesome experience!!! Lots of rules but, easy to follows, as a visitor. Talk about lean operations. There is not fat aka waste of time. It was amazing to see nothing but pieces cone together as a completed product. Also, learned a little area history too in the process. Research San Antomio settlers in the year 1794...If given a chance to tour, go. Had a flash back to college class wth their use here of JIT....Just In Time practices.

We toured at a bad time. The line was down for some reason. I understand that was a pretty rare occurrence. We drove from and back to Austin with a large group of 20 people easily 2 hours one way. Our guide was very apologetic. She showed very deep knowledge and was open to extended discussions with the team while we waited in the line and at the end of the tour. Our group was excited and interested but understandably upset at missing the ballet at the end. Don't miss the second half of the museum! It's easy to miss because of a set of sliding doors before it. Lots of gadgets and work aids giving life to process improvement terms we only read about in books! I suggest the visitor team do a kaizen on the best times to tour with a historically high probability that the line is running. I've been there twice before and it was always a great visit.

We really enjoyed the tour up until maybe 20 min in when they cut it short because they called an "early lunch break" at 9:30 in the morning... we literally missed the best part toward the end when they load the engines into the trucks and drive it off the line. Very unsatisfying that we couldn't witness the final result... our tourguide also seemed pretty unsympathetic about it like oh well. I can't imagine being someone out of town who drove several hours to see it and not even get to finish the tour. They didn't offer us another time of day or anything to come back either.
Otherwise very cool to see how the robotics work and all the laborers involved. Just disappointed with our visit.

This facility produces a different Tacoma or Tundra truck every minute (currently 47 different models on the se production line) and is an excellent place to watch the Toyota Production System at work. A tramway leads you along the assembly line which shows a ballet like synchronized production process on the inner circle and the suppliers preparation of replacement parts on the outside. You'll get to see the training-on-the-job cells, the Kaizen rooms for the team leaders, group leaders and more. Along the line you'll get a chance to see many different problem solving boards and visual management displays. In the training centre, a small. Exhibits elicitates some of the TPS highlights. A must see for any Lean aficionado!

It s not often you can get this close to an actual automobile factory. This TMMATX plant tour is a mind bending experience of people and robots working in harmony to produce an quality product.

We have been on Toyota plant tours in Indianna and Kentucky, plus Ford, John Deere and Catapiller and more. We had nothing but praise for those tours. We've never complained. Our son is a mechanical engineering student. We make these visits for him. This one was a waste of our time and a very long drive.

The tour guide was a nice Hispanic girl, but she read everything and we understood very little. Also, the tour was very short and not very informational. I would have expected more in Texas.

Got berated in the visitor's center for not wearing a mask (mine had broken while I was in the bathroom, so I threw it away), right as I was walking outside. I was then followed outside and the guy told me to step aside and then he asked for my name. What kind of place is this? I should have kept walking but I complied to his unprofessionalism. Last time I come here, that's for sure.

Took a great tour today with our Blue Skies of Texas group. It was set up very well, went smoothly. It looks like everyone enjoys making the Toyota Tundras and Tacomas. The plant recycles everything, changes the work line every few hours, so workers are using different parts to work their whole body, avoiding injuries. Great cafeteria and workout area. Will take another one in the future, but I'm a Corolla person.
