Amazing staff and my dog loves going and comes home happy and tired. The staff not only know her well but knows which dogs she loves to play with the most. They are very knowledgeable and very loving. So happy to have found this place for my pup. I have multiple co-workers that use them and all are thrilled with them.
They did a wonderful job grooming my goldens. However, I was stunned by the price tag. $130 per dog, even though dogs are different sizes and have different coats. Be sure to get an estimate before you commit to having your dog groomed.
Also, when I brought my dogs home, they gulped down a huge bowl of water and that made me worry that they hadn't been given water.
NEVER USE THEM!!!! I have a Coton. I was growing his hair back. I told them expressly I was trying to grow his hair back and not to cut it. Just give him a bath and de-mat if they find anything. From those directions the person wrote down for the groomer to give him a NUMBER 3 and they SHAVED HIM!!! I am beyond furious. While they did not charge me my dog has been shaved and I will have to wait months for him to regrow it. I AM BEYOND ANGRY!!! Clearly they cannot be trusted to do what you direct.
Did my toy Yorkie for the first time at townhouse, Kerri was wonderful with him. Definitely going back!
My dogs came home with kennel cough and extremely nervous which is totally unacceptable.
I have a toy poodle who goes to daycare between 4 and 5 days a week at the Townhouse. She has an absolute blast there and gets very excited to be dropped off each day and meet whoever is working the front desk. She comes home clean, and tired out from a day of fun. The staff is excellent to her - everyone knows the dogs by name, clearly love animals, and are very friendly. They helped me socialize her as a puppy in terms of exposing her to different experiences, noises, sights, sounds... Great spot, I suggest it to all of my full-time-job-having friends: your dogs will thank you for it!
Two horrible experience here. Never going back. They left my cat for 3 hours before they took him to be groomed by that point my cat was so upset I went to pick him up. Now this women Maria comes to our house in her grooming van and my cat is super happy after!
First time today with Lulu, my yorkichon. They came to the car (COVID) to get her and did a beautiful job. Groomed to perfection and smells clean and fresh, not too much fragrance. I will use them again! Annemarie was her groomer today. 5 stars!
I've been bringing my dogs to Town House for about 4 years now. The staff is so friendly and caring. Checking in and out is such a breeze becuae they're so prepared when I come in and know me and my dogs by name. I feel so comfortable leaving my dogs with them. The building is fully heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer. I took a tour of the building and was so impressed with how clean it was and how happy the dogs were. The runs are amazingly large. It makes me happy to know that my dogs can go outside and run around as much as they want. You won't find that at another boarding facility around. I have no idea why this one review on here is so negative. Perhaps he was having a bad day and needed to take it out on someone but this is crazy. Town House for dogs is not in someon's house. Take a tour of the facility before you post something negative. The place is great and I wouldn't tak my dogs anywhere else. As for the form, why wouldn't you want to fill out the form just in case. It's a standard form that you find at other boarding facilities. I've completed the same form in other states. It just shows me that they care about my pet and want to take the best care for them and respect my choices. I hope this review is helpful to others.
My little dog turns into a barking, jumping, exuberant fan of Townhouse when we pull into park there.
He can't wait to get groomed by Debbi. ( he hates when I give him baths).
His haircuts and grooming are fabulous and I know he very much enjoys his days there.
I love this place and was so grateful to find it through a recommendation at the dog park!!! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Every time I pick my dogs up in the evening they are asleep in the back seat within 2 minutes and sleep for the rest of the night at home. They do a great job of tiring them out and I feel like they are in a safe environment. My dogs are also on a strict training regiment for behavioral things like barking, jumping, attentiveness, etc.; and I love that the staff are willing to learn my ques and continue with that training when I am not around. Thank you for all your help!!!
We've been going to Townhouse for Dogs for about 10 years and we love everyone there. More importantly though, our pooches love it there; they drag us from the car and can't wait to get inside. We have our dogs groomed and boarded our dogs there and have not experienced any problems. We will continue to take our dogs to Townhouse - they are really the best!
Have been coming for grooming and boarding since 2011. We are very satisfied with the facilities, roomy runs, playtime during boarding and caring staff, wonderful treatment by everyone at Town House. Professional, organized and most importantly, our dog loves it here!
town house for dogs and the staff go above and beyond for the care and well being of the pets for whom they groom. the service is amazing, but more importantly the care and kindness they offer is limitless. i will continue to utilize the services of this fine establishment and suggest you give them a try!
I didn't love my experience there. I was never welcomed, either when I dropped my dog off or when I picked her up. Her eyes were full of goop and she was uncomfortable. I asked how she did, and the response was, "I didn't hear anything negative, so she must have been fine." She was safe, but that was about it.
Brought my dog here based on the positive reviews on this site and regret it. My dog was terrified when I picked him up after just one day. In winter, the building (which is really just someone's house) is freezing--even inside. The staff seem either overwhelmed or not very good with animals. I could hear one of them screaming at the barking dogs outside when I came for pick up. The drop off form also has several questions about what I would want them to do in the event my dog passes away. I'd like to think they're just being thorough but I couldn't help but feel that question was on there for a reason.
I've been using Town House for Dogs for years. My dogs think they're going to Disney when they go to Town House for their grooming and "paw-dicures" The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful.
My dog has been going to daycare at townhouse multiple days a week for years and loves it. When we ask her in the morning if she wants to go to "school" she sprints to the door and wags her tail excitedly when we pull into the parking lot. The entire staff is so friendly and caring - I trust them completely and can't imagine taking my dog anywhere else. They take the time to get to know your dog and their personality, and are mindful of who is paired with whom during playtimes - ensuring dogs are safe and having a good time. Ive also had her groomed and boarded and have nothing but nice things to say for both. Some friends now take their dogs to townhouse after negative experiences at another daycare in Fairfield county and love the townhouse just as much as we do.
When I picked up my dog today for grooming (She was there many times before) I noticed her nails were not cut and she smelled as if no bath was given. The groomer had left (and there was no manager even though it was 3 pm on a Saturday) so there was no one there but the receptionist.
When I asked what was going on, the receptionist said she had no idea. She said she wasn't told "we didn't have the time to do the work" or anything. Since no one mentioned to her the work wasn't done for whatever reason, after 4 hours, I guess this place was just looking to slide one by. Shady to say the least, and did they think customers wouldn't notice??? Buyer Beware!
REVIEW UPDATE - 2 days later, my dog's been diagnosed with kennel cough. Adding vet and medicine costs to the experience, this was one expensive stay indeed. Can i do a negative star rating???
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Wish I could leave a zero. Following the renovations and possibly under new management, this place is now ridiculously expensive and subject to crazy rules. The hours of operation have been cut down, so good luck getting your pet out at a reasonable time. They are officially "closed" from Saturday 5pm until Sunday at 3. Does that mean there's nobody there to oversee your pets? Possibly, but the more likely reason is they want to charge you for the extra day (the magic "rollover" hour is at 2, so 3pm is a new day). In short, if you leave your pet at 5pm and pick her up at 3 the next day, get ready to pay double for less than 24 hours. Anyway, sorry to see a good place go to crap, but we'll be looking for other options going forward.
We left my dog there for 3 days and she came back not wanting to eat and with her head scabbed over from a wound she didnt have before.
