Toledo Edison took three days to respond to a tree...

Toledo Edison took three days to respond to a tree that knocked down power lines. When they did, they replaced the power lines crossing the street so low, that the first commercial truck that drove down the street ripped all the power lines out, causing damage to our house.
Toledo Edison refuses to admit that the damage to my house was caused by their negligence and failure to restore the lines to a safe height crossing the street. They refuse to replace the damaged line going to my house, and as a disabled vet, the customer service representative had the nerve to tell me to fix the exposed high power line myself and then put me on indefinite hold.
Ignorance, Negligence, and Disrepsect. THAT IS TOLEDO EDISON.

I wish there was an alternative to this ignorant and unsafe power company, No city should have to be forced to put up with such an unprofessional organization for their only choice for residential power.

Awful customer service. Charged my tenant for months without providing service. That's right; they billed monthly even though the meter wasn't working and they wouldn't come out to fix it.

If I could give zero stars I would. The past three months Edison has made estimated guesses to my KWH used. My bill on average is 30-60 dollars a month. This month my bill is 289 dollars. I called to find out what had changed since I am rarely home due to my job. Edison employee finally OPENED the gate at my house and got an actual reading. Now they can accurately charge me for my KWH usage. Since they estimated on the previous three months they took my current usage and avg my potential usage for the past three months and decided to charge me for something they are purely guessing on to recoup some of their money but how can you guess what my previous usage is and charge me whatever you want when you have no proof. This unexpected 200 dollar increase in my MONTHLY bill is unacceptable and flat out wrong. Edison clearly made a mistake and now feels the need charge me more per month to make up for their incompetence. Terrible company.

They provide electricity, what'd you expect? Their customer service is okay, but their billing processes are not the most user friendly. A few comments state that they are overpriced, but a solution to that is to go somewhere else for your electricity, install solar, or live without modern amenities/use less energy.

I came home to my wife trying to set up service at our new house before we move in, I sat on the couch politely listening to the conversation she was having with the Toledo Edison representative. I thought my sales job was bad, they offered to sign us up for every product known to man while holding our confirmation number hostage. Surge protection for 6.99/month, ADT, Internet and a few more products we aren't interested in. We ended up hanging up without a confirmation number they just would not stop!

I'm new to Toledo And I found out my meter wasn't working and instead of them apologizing for the situation they said I should have told them that it wasn't working. They told me it was my responsibility to tell them. They then decided to wait a couple months from when they told me to finally fix it. Now they are trying to back bill me $1200 for 8 months as if a single full time working citizen in the household is responsible for that. I have contacted and told them it wasn't right. Now I'm talking to a lawyer.

Every time I have called the person answering the phone has had the worst possible attitude and quickly directs me to an automated system that cannot meet my needs. It is the most frustrating experience and I dread having to interact with them. If there was any other option available I would gladly pay more just to avoid the headache of dealing with Toledo Edison.

I called to setup service for my new home and was eventually told I would need to speak to a second rep to confirm and get my account number. It was made to seem like a normal, mandatory, part of the process.

Soon after being connected, it became obvious that they misled me into being transferred to a different company known as AllConnect, who tried to up sell me anything and everything they possibly could. They were using assumptive sale techniques ie; You do want the wiring protection package for your service, correct?

The transfer to a second company was misleading and abusive as were the pushy sales techniques. I just wanted to turn the lights on in my house.

The technician responded to my outage by pulling up to my apartment, seeing that other units had power, and pulling away. I was then called from an unknown number so I am unable to contact back. The gentleman on the phone claimed the technician tried to call me and ring my doorbell, and that if I flip my circuit breakers my power should come back on. I still have no power, no way to contact a representative or technician (it s after business hours, so it s all an automated system saying my outage has already been reported), and no resolution in sight because all the other units have power. And yes, I paid my electricity bill.

This company is the biggest rip off I've ever seen I own a two bedroom condo that I vacationing once a year and they send me a bill for $53 for one week and I don't even use the electricity there I'm always out doing things. I live in Boston where things are very expensive here and I only pay $30 a month and that's with running the AC. I think it's time we start a class-action suit against this company for ripping us off and stealing from us

If anybody gets a bill for $500 dollars don't call the utility commissioners cuz if you start an investigation on your Toledo Edison bill they will sell your cell number to a bunch of f****** and you'll get a bunch of calls all day from random companies. I called to ask for a 2 day extension on my bill and was treated like garbage, the representative made it seem like I was personally asking her to take money from her own pocket and pay my bill. Now that my mother recently passed away, they are going back and saying that their electric meters were wrong and they are adjusting the price upwards to get revenge. What a crappy company. These people are a bunch of incompetent idiots. My sister lives with me and electric was I'm her name... Had a falling out & she moved out and stuck me with a $450 bill. I had to pay that in full in order to get electricity in my name. I wasn't able to do it in the week they demansed it be paid so they came to shut it off.
I end up paying it so I can get it turned back on in my name.... Everything was going good until I got a bill for $275 I called to ask why this bill was SO high for just getting it turned on...The lady I spoke with was ghetto and rude and couldn't give me one reason as to why my bill shot up.

They let the previous bill get to $450 & they shut it off..... They came & shut my electricity off when I only owed the recent bill of $275.

I called them around 10 AM to try to get electricity back in my house. Today is the coldest day of the year and they were able to get me going in less than three hours. They honestly did an amazing job and I am extremely proud of their service they provided for my family today. Thank you to the crew who helped today!! Honestly everyone was very polite and had a very positive attitude for such a bad day outside!!
