SRA needs to shut these lot down asap before more lives are ruined....

I reckon there are more unfortunate people out there stuck with these lot but afraid to come forward due to thorneycrofts bullying behavior and blackmail of holding onto cases and deliberately delaying them. Then dropping them last minute when suits them. Or causing cases to miscarriage because of their negligence then making the poor person they are suppose to be representing foot the bill.

My advice is this, if you have had the unfortunate experience of these lot or maybe your stuck with them. Get another solicitor like I did (there are good ones out there) to take off these lot and report Thorneycroft to SRA/Legal Ombudsman/Trading standards/local government/media.

They are crooks. Criminals at prison have more moral than Thorneycrofts. They are all in it together directors, case handlers, solicitors, complaints.

Naqibul Islam is one of only two solicitors that I'm prepared to stick my name to. His work ethic is second-to-none, he is knowledgeable, approachable and actually cares about doing a good job for clients. Unlike other solicitors, he provides his direct dial and won't shy away from regular updates. He responds to e-mails the same day and I can't speak highly enough of him. Special mention to his assistant James Worsley as well who is also incredibly helpful.

I have an on going claim with these myself and they are just awful. Been waiting months! Almost a year now to revive any sort of information back on a claim of mine.

All I want is an update. How they are still legal I don t know they should be shut down and prosecuted.

I hope the owner of this place receives his karma in the most deserved way possible.

Despite initial difficulties where I wasn't receiving any replies to my correspondence from the first solicitor assigned to my case, the Compliance team were extremely helpful and helped to ensure my case was resolved.

Many thanks to the helpful ladies in the Compliance team and the second solicitor assigned to my case for resolving things in a highly satisfactory manner.

Absolutely horrific solicitors (Whaley Bridge Branch) how they are still trading is beyond belief! I would never ever purchase a property where our sellers are using Thorneycroft ever AGAIN! 7 months down the line and we are still NOT in our house because they are incompetent in responding to emails and will not accept calls from our solicitors. The whole buying experience is already stressful enough but if you want a sure fire way of losing a buyer try these guys. Yes they only charge a one off fee but you get what you pay for and the service is non-existent. If you want to sell your house quickly and efficiently then AVOID AVOID AVOID they will easily cost you the sale! Luckily for us we ve been in contact with our seller directly whose been great and if we weren t in touch with her I think we would have pulled out from the sale the only reason things have moved along is because of the work we have had to do ourselves if not I have no idea how much worse it could have gotten (dread to think). Please take my advice and save yourselves all the stress and heartache in the long run. We re using SAS Daniels in Congleton (have Macc and Stockport branches) and they have been great and guess what you can actually speak to someone there!

I've used Thorneycroft Solicitors for many years now for various family matters and most recently with the sale of our current house Tina and her team have been excellent. At a time regraded as one of the most stressful points in our lives they have made the process as seamless as possible with regular communication - both phone, email and post as appropriate, guidance and effective progression of our sale - they even have an App which provides useful information and notifications at key stages of the sale process. Very poor customer service would not recommend these to any one very bad no ratings

Unfortunately, these bad reviews are absolutely true. I began my case with them and the whole process felt unprofessional and almost like the company were trying to catch me out with Terms and Conditions. I questioned their 25% success fee being too high for my case, asked to speak to someone more senior and got no response.

I then got an phone call chasing me if I wanted to go ahead and instruct them having not got clarification on points I raised.

I decided to take my business elsewhere to a reputable company that is not taking a cut of my compensation I am owed. I would strongly advise other people reading this with a Personal Injury claim to do the same thing.

I had a non fault accident and the companies insurance put me though to Thorney croft..
I can say I would never use this company again.
They took forever to sort claim out with other parties insurance company.
Also my side was non fault and the other person had claimed responsibility.
I really hate to think what if the other side hadn't of admitted responsibility.

Please do yourself a favour and contact someone else like irwin micheal not this useless company.
Plus Thorney croft solicitors are always on holiday so not much gets done and you have to chase constantly.

I recently used Thorneycroft for the purchase of my new property after seeing how well they dealt with helping my parents when they were selling their house a couple of years ago.
Solicitor Neil Wilson and his team were very helpful in explaining the process of the purchase and all the sometimes stressful aspects of buying a property, always very helpful over the phone and very good in replying to emails unlike the developers who thanks to Neil and his team sped up the process for the purchase.
Overall a pleasant experience with a thoroughly professional company.

really bad service, hard to contact, don't tell you anything about anything happening, changed my rep 5 times now and each time have to sign and send more, they sent people to my house for a statement even tho we said we will not be in then sent us a doc saying they tried us.

This is the first time in 2 years i have said anything bad about this company publicly but now enough is enough, i would love to hear how my case is going on and any updates but cant even get an email back or call back its really bad.

An accident management passed our case onto thorneycrofts in the hope to take the third party to court - our case was an accident not at fault as the driver behind hit our car at the rear causing moderate/ heavy damage.

Unfortunately we were assigned James as our case handler, i've honestly lost count the amount of phone calls i've made to ask to speak to him regarding our case when I finally do manage to speak it's a very brief few minutes phone call that doesn't provide much help at all.
Very poor communication honestly would've never expected this from them as after all their job is to work for their clients no?!

Promised call back that didn't happen,
Asked for fast clearance of final payment-didn't happen.
Felt that have to chase them to gain progress and get anything done.
Wouldn't recommend myself.
Perhaps spread to thin with lots of clients so you feel forgotten until you chase them.

We used Thorneycrofts for a house purchase . Our conveyancer was Joe Daniels and he is a professional ,courteous, young man , who made the whole process , as much as house buying can be , a pleasant and straightforward process . I can not rate him highly enough . Thank you Joe

Despite sending in 2 emails ( automated response saying email will be looked at ) and then 2 follow on phone calls leaving message both with reception and on individuals voicemail I have had absolutely no response at all so will look to take my business elsewhere. Thorneycroft were recommended to me as a local experienced service , I guess I will never find that out.

Absolutely one of the best in the market. They handled my case and won even more than they advised prior to the start of the case. They kept to their agreed initial percentage/ fee even though I got more than they estimated at the start. Brilliant team. I used Thorneycroft to purchase my first property and had no idea of the processes included in doing so. I have just had an excellent experience using the team following a road accident. They put me at ease and helped me through every step of the process. I am delighted with both the service and settlement I received and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Christmas Eve and I feel totally let down tonight thanks to their horrible attitude and unsympathetic treatment. They've ignored my communications, concerns/complaints for months, lied to me and then today on Christmas Eve morning, they email me a bill that is the most ridiculous fabrication I've ever seen. They know I'm autistic and they've treated me worse than a dog. I really don't know where to turn.

Very disappointed. Do not deserve even one star. Avoid this firm, particularly Macclesfield office. Hard to contact by phone or email, never return calls back email replies take ages. If there is a time limit to submit a claim the firm deliberately delay any action to reach the time limit.

Inefficient solicitors give misleading advice. Capable of secret negotiating with opponents. Act justifying the defendants side when their client pursuing personal injury or medical negligence claims.

They wasted my time. Wanted to make a medical negligence.

Dont waste your time . Take weeks to reply . No win no fee dont reply for weeks or months then when tell them you no longer wish to proceed with claim they issue a cancellation charge ... NO WIN NO FEE

Tried to use this company for my divorce but found a lack of interest in my case.I found very little in the way of advice or direction and so had to leave for another solicitor costing me a lot of money. Not the best when I was at a hard and vulnerable stage in my life

Neil Wilson handled two property sales for us, one was extremely complicated owing to two separate titles. The sale of only part of one with the added issue of one being freehold and the other being leasehold. Neil and his team handled all aspects professionally keeping us posted through out the process making the transaction appear simple. Would highly recommend.

This company is absolutely useless ..after 2 years and negligent advice my son lost his case against a negligent driver who knocked him off his motorbikes...Thorneycroft gave wrong advice about witness statements and did not support him at all ...do not use this company there are much better solicitors.

Amazing service from Thorneycroft Solicitors. I was a first time buyer so wasn't too sure on the whole process, but Hannah and Christine were very knowledgeable and friendly and didn't mind my weekly chasers to see what what happening. They were quick to respond and everything went as smoothly as I imagine it could go. Highly recommend!!

I had a very bad experience with them. We agreed on 25% when I gave my claim to them. Once the claim got settled and I received offer. They have charged me 40% by adding too many extra charges I wasn t aware of it. So make sure you read their agreement before proceed. THORNEYCROFT ARE THIEVES.
I had previously claim with the CLAIM TIME SOLICITORS they charged me 20% with no extra charge.

Pretty diabolical solicitors. They didn't seem to know what was going on or care. Complained twice, nothing changed. Didn't even acknowledge receipt of funds. Really - go somewhere else :-(

Absolutely dire. Used for purchase of house, never once returned phone calls and had to chase things up ourselves as they are useless. What are we paying them for?

This solicitors have been dealing with a personal injury claim, they have done nothing but delay the process, and have refused to accept my details regarding financial loss.

I would NOT recommend that you use them.

My case recently came to a satisfactory close.
My case was was complicated and difficult at times but from the beginning thorneycroft made the journey easy and kept me constantly informed of the situation either by email or phone or both. Excellent service throughout and went to great lengths to get me the best possible outcome. There is a great team there and l was lucky to have Louise Blondon deal with my case who really went that extra mile and was extremely efficient. I will always be very gratefull.
Things happen in life and the thought of going through solicitors frightens most people but l have no problem reccomending thorneycrofts to anyone.Hopefully l will never have to use one again but l know who l would be contacting if an issue ever arose again.

Very slow service. Had my accident in March other driver admitted liability straight away but took thornycroft to almost complete it now in September. They don't reply to emails unless you chase them with a few more emails. In my history of accidents and having different solicitors involved this one has to be the worst and slowest. I was the one who made most phone calls and emails to chase my case to get things moving. Never again.

Never ever use if you do check everything they had my case over five years done what I think was absolutely nothing as judge said they had over five years to prepare this case but done very very little if anything sent a local solicitor not the one who was dealing with case they are totally negligent they will not provide me with the insurance company who they are going to claim their money for me to put my case why I think they should not get paid they are rude

The absolute worst solicitors to exist, they re absolutely useless. They don t leave notes on accounts, which I m sure in line with GDPR is a must, I work as a customer services team leader and honestly don t understand how this place is still operating, you d expect them to stay in line with these kinds of things being a professional company.
They say they ll call you back but won t, say they ll leave a note on your account but don t.
Liability was established 6 months ago which they confirmed to me in writing but they still to this day tell my passenger that they re unsure on the stance on liability and are taking the case to court and don t have driver details which were provided to them in writing nearly a year ago? Pull your fingers out, re- tar-ds.

Just completed my 4th property using Naqibul Islam of Thorney croft, followed him from his previous company and would follow him to his next, he is efficient, doesn't need chasing and always made it easy for me. (also doesn't give me grief for being a saints fan!)

I got dragged into all this, didn t realise what I was getting myself into. I thought it was going to be a straight forward claim for my injuries and loss of money due to time off work.

It s been absolutely hard work. It s causeD nothing but stress. I haven t got a clue where I am with my case or what the hell is going on? How this is still a firm I haven t got a clue.

They should be prosecuted for the way they have made me feel and not to mention others.

I ve felt nothing but worry, anxiety, pressure and that overall feeling of not knowing where you are and if you are going to have an unexpected bill pop up? I m afraid to say the least and if this was the wrong person in a wrong state of mind I can totally understand why someone would take there own life over these people.

This is a message to the owner more so and staff. whoever you are. I believe in karma and that s all I ll say. You are clearly causing more stress than goodness around here.

Please if anyone is reading this. STAY AWAY. I am looking into things to do with these guys and will be putting a huge portfolio together and pushing things further.

I must say that they dealt with our claim pretty quickly, the case worker was Kamilla, she was fabulous, the downside is that things should have been explained better, like the offer we received was global and eventually they deducted the treatment we received and we received less compensation, and we were told we qualify for free treatment.

For 25% no win no fee, plus the treatment this was a lot of money, for very a badly explanation in detail.

This company made buying our first house an extremely stressful and anxious period. We had over a month of no progress, with no communication whatsoever. We were first time buyers and left in the dark, with no clue what to do, or what was going on. It got to the point where i was ringing several times in a row to get any sort of answer. Neil did not reply to any emails I sent, to which I had to resort to contacting the office apprentice multiple times. Georgia is a credit to the company and helped us out massively.

To put it in perspective, we were first time buyers moving into an unoccupied, empty house. No chain either end. With all searches completed in the first 4 weeks. The process took them just under 4 months to complete.

I must say, the final week communication was as it should be, probably to stop reviews like this happening.

My experience with Thorneycroft Solicitors was a nightmare, I would not recommend Thorneycroft Solicitors to anyone.

My case is still on going but towards the end. Thorneycroft took my case on after my old solicitors went bust i have had nothing but positive words for them so far. Weve worked as a team with my case and they have backed me with every decision i make. Jenna owen is currently dealing with my case and i cant fault her one bit, always easy to get hold of and im always in the loop about what's happening and where we are progressing. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Contrary to some other reviews here, I've had a file with Thorneycroft for the past 7 months or so - I haven't heard from my file handler in the past 2 months, despite repeated attempts to contact them. I'd avoid them at all costs if possible.

in response to your reply - I was not contacted by my file handler, I was contacted by another member of your team, who when I tried to reply to them again for an update yesterday, I got an automated reply informing me their email address no longer exists.

I've read all the reviews. This prompted me to leave my own, in the interests of a fair picture.

We have just sold our home using Thorneycroft, specifically Joe Daniels, Samantha and Christine. They were all astonishingly wonderful. Our buyers were a little slow in responding and kept springing additional surveys on us (we had 5!). Joe has always been reassuring, professional, extremely prompt in replying to my many phone calls and emails, and accurate. He knows his stuff!

We asked for 4 weeks between exchange and completion as we hoped to find a rental property. We instead found our dream home to purchase. We did not hesitate in asking Thorneycroft to handle this purchase. There expertise, organisation and dedication has meant that we were eventually able to complete on the sale and the purchase on the same day!! This was a massive achievement and has saved us a considerable amount of money.

Joe is fantastic and my hero!!!

My wife and I were involved in a car accident where a car run into the rear of us and pushed us into a car in front.It should of been a simple case but the driver of the car that hit us did not contact his insurance company and would not admit liability.We contacted Thorneycrofts to see if they could help and all I can say is that they were fantastic.They came and visited me and my wife they appointed us a claims handler and even installed a APP on our phone so we could comunicate direct with our claims handler.We were lucky enough to take pictures of the accident and we could even use the APP to send them to our file.

They've been dragging out my claim from June 2018 till 2020. They lie about keeping in contact and other things to keep my claim open, they are very exasperating to deal with passing you through different case handlers and at this point they seem very fraudulent trying to exhaust every penny they can get. I tried to go with someone else and at that point that's when they started moving their feet again. Now they've gone quiet. AVOID this company like the plague, they are THIEVES!!

I initially used Thorneycrofts to sell my home and was fortunate enough to have Naqibul handling my sale. I cannot recommend Naqibul enough, he is extremely professional and efficent. The entire process was handled so well that I returned to Thorneycrofts when purchasing my new home. Yet again the entire process has been seamless, Naqibul is very knowledgeable and always available and has a facilitated a speedy and stress free move. James is also excellent and if we were to move/sell again we would only use Thorneycrofts.

Naqibul was extremely professional, fast at responding, clear and reliable. I am very grateful for all his efforts and honesty. I would highly recommend his services.

Had a major rta which took 8 years to settle third party accepted liability then given false indication of value of claim after asking for 7 years then we were given the third party schedule 7pm the previous day to the Jsm meeting very poor service and lack of information

Absolutely incompetent, waited 3 years trying to pursue a non fault car accident injury claim, told that they are dropping the case with less than a month left before time limit was up, have waited months and months for updates, had to chase them up for the case to progress, in short utterly useless do not trust them in particular Sarah Hancock who was working on my case. Avoid at all costs and find alternative.

Avoid these solicitors, they mislead customers with incorrect figures, communication is poor, please read the reviews before using them as I am certainly not the only person who has been very dissatisfied with the service. I did get my compensation eventually after nearly 4 years and lots of chasing but I feel strongly that it could have been an easier and less stressful process.

Incompetent when dealing with my partners divorce. They sent papers to Liverpool Court and had 3 errors on documents resulting in them being returned. We only found out this information from ringing the courts ourselves, they said they were highly surprised at the errors suggesting incompetency on our solicitors behalf. Is also like to add that Amanda is impossible to get hold of and takes several days to reply to emails and or phone calls. Spend your money elsewhere.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Mislead customers on the final valuation fee. What they say you'll get, trust me u dont, read the very small print. Customer service is shocking. Soon as u sign the forms. All they want is case closed asap. Clients interest are firmly at the back of there minds.

Used Thorneycrofts for sale of my father's house. In general they were good and helpful. Not always able to contact by phone, and I was assigned two people, neither of who were the actual solicitor! I guess that is the modern thing with a lot of solicitors. However, they were always polite and helpful, and the costs were much more reasonable (better than some national firms I got quotes for), so all in all, pretty good, hence 4 stars.

DO NOT USE! My insurance company assigned thornycroft as my solicitor after a motorbike accident, which resulted in whiplash, nearly 3 years on and the claim is not settled due to my claim handlers incompetence. The medical evidence had been clear in June of my prognosis and I'm still waiting

Read the negative reviews here and they all echo my experience with the company. Very poor communication taking weeks to respond. I have complained about this twice and yet the culture of poor response continues.

My claim handler expresses that she is an experienced claim handler but failed to advise me that my claim could be potentially more due to the medical advisor stating I will be at a disadvantage in the future labor market. I had to point this out to here. The list of issues I have had ranges from not responding to emails, bad and unclear advice, failed to notify my about medical appointments and a complete lack of acknowledgment that they have provided a poor service. This I highlighted to my claim handler's manager 2 weeks ago and requested to change handler..2 weeks since sending the email I have yet to have a response.

Do your self a favor and go somelse

I had a bike accident in october 2018, which was a non fault accident. Andrew dowd was on my case and was brilliant through out my case, great communication answered all my calls and emails. And dealt with my case in fast time. I would strongly recommend him and thorneycroft.
