A must go for children! This place is a kiddos dream with activities for every child to enjoy. Story time was awesome and the guy who read was animated and fun. The activities change to keep the place interesting and there is a lot of learning platforms for children of all ages. I almost forgot to note, bring a change of clothing for the kiddos if deciding to go play with the water activities as they can get really wet and some may be afraid of the air dryers.

My son had his 5 year old Birthday Party here at the Thinkery. It was our first time attending and it was amazing! My son wanted to do both the Pig Party and the Masterpiece Party. Because of unsure how many boys and girls we chose Masterpiece Party. We did Deluxe Package. Well worth it!! They read a story that went along with the theme, a memorial wall, and a photo wall with props. They took care of everything. The staff were friendly and well attentive. There was games and painting of 2 canvases. Even us adults had a blast! Perfect for children who are 4 turning 5 and 3 year olds as well. It was awesome. With our package we even got tickets to come back again!!! Even paid for wiz class and that was incredible. All the children and parents enjoyed themselves, and the staff made it all possible. Thank you so much so worth it...people book well in advance because they sell out real quick. Something you do NOT want to miss!!! Do the cupcakes or cake with Bibery Bakery awesome, beautiful, and delicious!!! So much to do, and see and explore!! Also they were on top of everything with cleaning and all the kids played well with everyone it was great!!!

Coming into today me and my family were really excited to see what the thinkery was all about. First and foremost the area there with the farmers market going on is exquisite and was the best part of the day. So we get there. Keep in mind my daughter is 15 months old. The exhibits were nice but the kids that were already there as well as the parents were very snobby. Multiple times kids that were much older than her shoving her off of items that were clearly there for everyone to share. Places like that are supposed to be about expression and kids interacting and having fun. Today didn't fit the whole purpose of what I had in mind. I don't want some snobby kid shoving my daughter because she was interested in what they were doing. Or parents openly making nasty expressions towards me and my family. I won't be back. People these days act like they own everything and have no manners

What a beautiful space, and SO much for kids to do. I especially liked that they allow you to leave for lunch and come back without having to pay again. We had a 2yo and a 5yo entertained for about 4 hours. Love the reciprocal program with other science centers, too!

Although the activities were incredible, my fave thing about the Thinkery was the awesome nursing room on the 2nd floor. I have 2 kids under 2, and it was just what we needed that afternoon. Both my kids enjoyed the crawler room and my toddler lived storytime. We live out of town, but we're coming back.

My mom used to take me here (as in the old location) all the time as a kid. These are all fond memories with my young friends running around playing in the various exhibits, the colorful, plastic grocery store (which I loved), and the penny well (which they still have!). I may have even had a birthday here if I remember correctly. More recently I walked by at 2 in the morning and after my initial glance at their whimsical outside roof-sculptures had a brief drunken, morbid image of blankly-smiling children swinging around on the rooftop. Ah, life.

Activities for children of all ages. Make sure you go there with extra clothes for the kids, as they have water activities. You are bound to spend quite a few hours, since there are so many activities. Parking is free for the first 3 hours, just take your parking ticket and have it stamped at the front desk. No food is sold here aside from two vending machines so make sure you pack a lunch. As far a membership it pays for itself within a couple visits, depending on your family size and membership package you get, but once you factor in the admittance and parking price it's more than pays for itself.

Great place to take the kids! Lots of activities! We attended a birthday party here. Some activities are more science-based some are more creative. Either way this is a great place to take the kids for several hours if not half a day.

Lots to do but a little over priced. Park in parking garage and remember to get it validated when you pay for thinkery tickets!!! A cheaper alternative would be to play at the FREE park across the street and get ice cream at Lick ice cream

I love science museums of all kinds, but the Thinkery is of my favourite sort: interactive science museums. They have all manner of exciting exhibits for kids (and adults) to learn nifty science things.

Add to that the fact they update the exhibits from time to time, and it becomes a great trip almost anytime. One of the coolest things they do is include science projects done by local youth whenever possible.

Plus, they have little workshops to focus on specific things for kids and families to learn and do together.

My one year old and I had a blast. She was in desperate need of a nap before we even went and she still was totally engaged and captivated. The toddler section was awesome and the giant lite brite was low enough that she got to play with it as well. She had so much fun. I just wish I got in for free and just had to pay a smaller fee for her.

It is a fantastic place to share as a family has many fun and entertaining activities that help children to develop their imagination, their physical, psychological, emotional and intellectual skills also allows them to socialize with other children and interact with their family members I recommend much for those who have small children because they can play, touch and explore everything in a safe and fun way (I recommend bringing a complete change of clothes for your children including shoes as there are games with water and you will need it)

We took our 4 yr old and 1.5 yr old on a Saturday morning, right when it opened at 10am and we had a great time. The current exhibit has a bunch of interactive things that you roll golf balls on which is a lot of fun. We could have spent more time there but the kids were already getting worn out and cranky after about an hour of exploring. They had a story time that we sat down at and listened. There were a few rooms that you can reserve for party's and there were some very large parties there when we went.

I love this place for my little ones(5and 7).. With Covid things are a bit different but I love it because now it's not crowded and the kids actually get a turn to try the different areas. It's clean and I just love how much fun my kids had. Well definitely go back!

WOW! We were in town on a longer cross-country trip, looking for something to do with 4 kids. This place is amazing. There are STEAM activities galore - from building your own plane with preset parts and then shooting it out of an air cannon to experimenting with light bulbs and batteries, to a water room with drums under dripping water and water cannons, to a big play kitchen (complete with real pans and utensils), to a lab experiment for different smells and lots of other stuff. This place will keep kids occupied an entire day and they won't even know they're learning at the same time. Well Done!

It's one of the most fun kids museums that we've been to. We were there for a couple of hours and could have stayed for longer. There are 2 water exhibits that both of my boys had a lot of fun with. There were a couple of exhibits around air and air pressure. Also, there wasn't a line to get in. And it's very reasonably priced

About Thinkery

Thinkery: Austin's Home for Science and Family Fun

Thinkery is a unique museum located in Austin, Texas that offers an interactive and educational experience for children and families. Formerly known as the Austin Children's Museum, Thinkery has evolved into a place where science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) come together to inspire curiosity and creativity.

At Thinkery, visitors can explore over 40 hands-on exhibits that encourage learning through play. From the "Spark Shop" where kids can tinker with tools to create their own inventions to the "Kitchen Lab" where they can experiment with food science, there is something for everyone at this innovative museum.

One of the most popular exhibits at Thinkery is the "Currents" exhibit which allows visitors to create their own circuits using wires and batteries. This exhibit teaches children about electricity in a fun and engaging way. Another favorite exhibit is "Innovators' Workshop" which encourages creativity by providing materials such as cardboard boxes, tape, scissors etc., allowing kids to build whatever they imagine.

In addition to its permanent exhibits, Thinkery also hosts special events throughout the year such as summer camps for kids of all ages. These camps offer hands-on activities that focus on STEAM subjects like robotics or coding.

Thinkery also offers programs specifically designed for toddlers called “Little Thinkers”. These programs are designed to introduce young children (ages 0-3) to STEAM concepts through play-based activities like sensory exploration or music-making.

The museum’s mission is not only about providing fun experiences but also about promoting education in STEAM fields. The staff at Thinkery believes that by exposing children early on in life to these subjects it will help them develop critical thinking skills necessary for success later on in life.

Thinkery has received numerous awards including being named one of Forbes’ Top 12 Children’s Museums in America. It has also been recognized by local publications such as Austin Monthly who named it “Best Place To Take Kids” multiple times.

Overall, if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with your family while learning something new along the way then look no further than Thinkery! With its interactive exhibits and engaging programs catering from toddlers up until teenagers - there's truly something here for everyone!
