Very fun for kids up to 8 years. 2 floors of fun and creative areas. The shadow room was the best! Look for it in the light room. My kid loves the water play. It's best to bring a change of clothes and shoes for that area. Also I would plan to do that last! Beautiful park across the street and a busy playground.

If you have children, especially ones who are interested in science of any kind, I highly suggest Thinkery. It is a wonderful establishment filled top to bottom with interactive activities for children of all ages. Arts and crafts, electricity, water, engineering, earth, you name it they have it. It is so much fun and educational at the same time. We spent more than three hours there and could have spent much longer. It was our first trip and certainly will not be our last. For what it is and what you get to do it isn't overly expensive and a wonderful way to spend the day in Austin with the family.

Excellent place for kids to explore and learn. In fact, the adults may stay joining in on the fun as well. They have a large variety of activities and things for kids to get their hands on and use their imagination. Very popular place on the weekends, so expect a large number of people and kid during peak times.

This place is fantastic for children. They can get their think on as well as a good physical workout. The place let s the children s imagination run wild. The people are very attentive and nice. Parking is not fun at all for larger vehicles especially. Arrive early to hunt for parking spaces.

We love, love the Thinkery. There are quality activities for all ages and the employees are top notch. I just wish it opened earlier. 10 am is so late for young kids/parents who have been up for 4 hours already and have nap time aroubd noon.

[Edit] Previously I mentioned how the Thinkery hadn t changed, and as I walked in this week they have the neatest new science and natural disaster type exhibit. This deserves more than just 5 starts honestly.

I ve been going to the Thinkery now for over 3 years. The glow room, and kitchen upstairs are by far my kids favorite. Cooking up an imaginary batch of food is any kid s dream. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that I really miss the little activities they used to do.

Like the chicks being incubated for the kids to see, I would love to see more of that. Overall though thank you for putting smiles on our kids faces.

I love this place to go with the kids. But on Field trips time is limited and the kids aren't given a time to play outside in Thinkery playscape.
My ONLY request is that there be a sturdier changing table for older SPECIAL NEEDS students who need diaper changes. This is a serious accommodation needed.

Neat place for kids. They have a really cool water area where the kids can play with water and see/hear the effects of water hitting drums .
I went with my nieces and they absolutely loved it . They also have a little farmers market area where they can play pretend for the market . The have a gift shop area by the exit with neat but overpriced items

This place is cool beyond belief. The Thinkery is an interactive, learning, contextual, hand on learning museum for kids. But it is so much full on fun that the parents can become involved as much as they want or just watch and let the kids run wild. They have an interactive station for various real life scenarios like grocery stores, postal service including logistics of packaging, mailing and delivery and even make believe cooking stations, gravity demonstrations and even some weird but fun almost psychic, mind power exhibits where you can put a head set on yourself and your child and compete to move a ball or play ping pong ball with your mind. Total hoot! Don't drive through tis part of the Texas hill country without going here... kids or not. But kids? Definitely.

An amazing places for kids of all ages. So many great exhibits that really spark our child's learning and sensory processing. Great organization that is community-focused. Even has an adult-only night once a month with cocktails and fun, themed exhibits. My only dislike is they are not open after work/school/daycare hours, aka 5:00, on most weekdays.

We love the Thinkery. My kids, 3 and 5, love all of the activities. Highly recommend bringing a change of clothes if kids will be playing in the water room. Afternoons are much less crowded than mornings. Membership recommended if you have intentions to go at least a few times a year.

I love this place for my almost 4 year old. I let her lead and imagine up every possible way she can play. The recent addition of the Ready, Set, Roll room is a new favorite. Though, we call it The Ballroom.

Checked out this place during Museum Day because I live in the neighborhood. Was made to feel cheap and dirty when they asked to keep my driver's license while I looked at the displays which were TERRIBLE! Basically, one huge romper room. Don't bother.
