I came here for 3rd grade school field trip. I had fun too. You will smell lots of diapers, since the place is for toddlers too . Wednesday is free entrance for families!! Even parking is free. All the staff members are super friendly and some of them are bilingual (spanish).

I have been to many children museums and Thinkery in Austin has been the very best one. My daughter is 1.5 years old and there were tons of activities for her to do. She loved the bubbles and water activity the most. Bring 2nd pair of clothes, socks, and shoes.
Also, they validated our parking pass when we parked in the garage.

My son loved this place they had so many things for kids to do but watch your kids because there are some spoiled brats that think all the toys and gadgets are theirs. The moniters there are great because they will put the mean kids In their place.

This place is great for the kids. There are so many differnet options for the kids; indoors or outdoors, water activities or dry activities, interactive play or independent play. My kids (2 year old and 8 year old) really enjoyed themselves. I was even able to participate in a few of the activites which was nice. Excellent location. Your tickets are good for the whole day or you can become a member. I would recommend this place for those looking for a day out with the kids.

My family loves the Thinkery. We like it now now that you can pay $13 a month for a membership. It works out a lot better budget wise. It's so big and so many areas to explore. The water area inside and out is great for the hot TX weather. I like that it'll be place can go to for years to come as our little ones grow because there are more areas that they'll be able to explore as they get older. It's also located next to a public park so if it's ever crowded, you can just head to the park for a bit.

This is one of the best places in Austin to bring your kiddos. They get to burn plenty of physical energy climbing around on the playground, but they also get to exercise their brain with the different activity rooms like the light and dark room with giant lite-brites, circuit connections, pneumatics (connecting air tubes), water room, painting, plastic and foam airplanes, and much more! So fun!

Great place for fun with the kids. My 5 year old loves to make crafts and reuse materials downstairs, loves to shop and cook with toy food upstairs in the farmers market, and play in the water room. My 17 mo old walks around the baby play area and enjoys all the little light installments, toys, and tunnels. Great space for hot and cold days. Beware germs (hundreds of kids going through this place per day) but we just try to wash a lot while we're there!

The Thinkery was absolutely awesome. Went with the whole second grade from the school I work at. I was so surprised at how much there was to do. Our students had so much fun that I wish we would have been able to spend more than just two hours there. The staff was really friendly starting with the lady that gave our students the speech on where to go and how to act inside. She made it fun and very kid friendly.

We went here for adult night and had so much fun. Played with all the exhibits and enjoyed some wine from the bars they had around the museum. For adults it's a one time visit kinda place but I see how this place is heaven for kids.

It was neat. Great for kids. But my only issue was a lot of the activities we're closed. Which made the price to pay seem Almost a rip off. If a lot of your activities are closed y'all should take money off the fee to enter.

The Austin kids museam was a fun place to take our son. He loved the truck excavation and the building workshop. The one one thing I would say was negative was that some exhibits weren't working. Also they.didn't have enough for children under 4 to get their hands on. Could use some improvement but a decent place.

We were on a family vacay over the weekend and while the older kids and more fit adults went to Twin Falls, my sister and I took my 4 year old grandson and 7 year old granddaughter to Thinkery. When they told me it was the same price, $12, for the 4 year old as it was for me, I thought that was a bit expensive. We were there for 3 hours and it was worth every penny of the price of admission.....not that $12 is expensive, just that the same price for everyone over 23 months is kind of odd. Most places have some kind of price break between children and adults.

This place was AWESOME!! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, the prices are super reasonable, and the facility was very clean. Our babies are only 16 months so there were many activities that were "too big" for them, but the whole second floor was a great space for thelittles. The water table activity area was easily their favorite part :) There was also an area that was specifically for babies and toddlers and they had a blast in there. I highly recommend taking kiddos here for a day of fun!! We will be back!!

We absolutely love the Thinkery! There is so much to do for littles of any age. Their prices are very fair and we are considering a membership because of how often we find ourselves going. We love going to Baby Bloomers (a program for kids age 0-3) as it isn t as crowded but even during normal business hours, it s such a great place!

Haven't been in a few years but my son loved going here. Lots of stuff to do, from games to building activities to water play. There are light displays, physics puzzles, and playgrounds. Plenty to do and see for an entire day's outing. Unfortunately, you have to walk through the over priced gift shop to enter and exit so be prepared to make the decision between spending too much on trinkets/toys or disappointing your kids.

Soooooooo much fun! I brought my 7yo and 1yo and they had a blast. You can come and go as you please, there are restaurants within walking distance, parking is only a dollar an hour, and there is a great playground across the street. Can't recommend enough!!

We visit Austin for quick weekend trips and took out 4yr old here on the last visit. It was definitely worth the stop! There was so much to do for all ages, and there was even an outdoor play area. The gift shop had great items, although I wish it was at the very front of the place (hard to pull a kid away). The bathrooms were clean and the exploration stations were well maintained and clean. Be prepared to have.your child get wet in the upstairs portion, definitely bring a towell.

About Thinkery

Thinkery: Austin's Home for Science and Family Fun

Thinkery is a unique museum located in Austin, Texas that offers an interactive and educational experience for children and families. Formerly known as the Austin Children's Museum, Thinkery has evolved into a place where science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) come together to inspire curiosity and creativity.

At Thinkery, visitors can explore over 40 hands-on exhibits that encourage learning through play. From the "Spark Shop" where kids can tinker with tools to create their own inventions to the "Kitchen Lab" where they can experiment with food science, there is something for everyone at this innovative museum.

One of the most popular exhibits at Thinkery is the "Currents" exhibit which allows visitors to create their own circuits using wires and batteries. This exhibit teaches children about electricity in a fun and engaging way. Another favorite exhibit is "Innovators' Workshop" which encourages creativity by providing materials such as cardboard boxes, tape, scissors etc., allowing kids to build whatever they imagine.

In addition to its permanent exhibits, Thinkery also hosts special events throughout the year such as summer camps for kids of all ages. These camps offer hands-on activities that focus on STEAM subjects like robotics or coding.

Thinkery also offers programs specifically designed for toddlers called “Little Thinkers”. These programs are designed to introduce young children (ages 0-3) to STEAM concepts through play-based activities like sensory exploration or music-making.

The museum’s mission is not only about providing fun experiences but also about promoting education in STEAM fields. The staff at Thinkery believes that by exposing children early on in life to these subjects it will help them develop critical thinking skills necessary for success later on in life.

Thinkery has received numerous awards including being named one of Forbes’ Top 12 Children’s Museums in America. It has also been recognized by local publications such as Austin Monthly who named it “Best Place To Take Kids” multiple times.

Overall, if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with your family while learning something new along the way then look no further than Thinkery! With its interactive exhibits and engaging programs catering from toddlers up until teenagers - there's truly something here for everyone!
